I would like to head canon that Luz has told King about Star Trek and King's favourite character is Picard
I always love how Geordi is never truly weirded out by anything Data does or specifically if he does something strange when learning human behavior. Everyone else just gives Data this look because their weirded out but Geordi just looks at him and raises an eyebrow, and yeah he could be giving him the look behind his visor as well as the rest of them but I don't think so. He's never weirded out by Data's Data-ness just mildly surprised and questions him like "What do mean Data?" in a gentle voice
New star trek show but, instead of the usual federation/starfleet premise every episode is from the point of view of several non-starfleet space explorers in where they get trapped in some bizarre situation while interacting with the federation.
Star trek is so funny cause sometimes you'll be watching an episode with srs topics that still affect our world today, and than the exact next episode is Spock getting his brain stolen.
I'm watching all of Star Trek: The Next Generation and wanted to sketch
Anyways, I don't think I got the shape of his face quite right so I tried a coloring method I've never really done before

“Back in the day my father knew a space ship captain, real good with the ladies. He used to say, “that Captain Kirk, he was as smooth as a Klingon forehead.” Well, I always thought that was odd, ya know?”
Data. Data around the clock
Anyone with access to Paramount+, please for the love of god watch Coded: The Hidden Love Of J.C. Leyendecker. It’s 29 minutes long and it made me fucking bawl
So I have a theory that the borg shields only work against energy based weapons. My reasoning for this is that you can still get close to them considering their shields are up all the time and the scene were pacard literally pumped them full of lead for TWO minutes when we know they adapt their shields after like 30 seconds. So WHY did they just ... I don't know (cocks shotgun).
I have a head cannon about Data. He always had emotions but only the complicated ones like love and was only missing the simpler ones like anger, fear, sadness, and happiness. That is why he had desires to learn and grow, want and have friendship, and be interested in abstract concepts like art.
I don't know if anyone has done this but could someone draw the meme were character A is trying on character B's classes but with Geordi and Data?

I have only two episodes left of TNG to watch and feel dread at the idea of it being finished.
I started watching it after seeing memes of Data and Spot almost a year ago. I had told myself i had watched the first two seasons ironically but after 5 seasons the excuse started to run thin. I now speak to myself with the voice of Captain Picard making logs.
It will be the first star trek series i watched. I did watch episode one of TOS a few years ago and gave it no further chance. I realise now i mistook Pike for Kirk and thought he looked very different from the other images i saw of tos but gave it no mind back then.
I hated viscerally some episodes, i got bored by a small yet non negligible part, i laughed on rare occasions, i overreacted to simple characters interactions as if they were gosspis , and i cried a few times. And i do not cry easily. By writing this i am reminded of Lal, or that episode where Picard lives a full life on the extinct planet in the span of 20minutes.
I would watch tos now but unfortunately i have seen one too many bashir x garak post. I must therefore endure once again the dread of starting a new series, which i usually refrain from when the length is more than a season. I haven't gotten over my imposter syndrom and will therefore not refer to myself as a trekkie.
Ironically the licence that made it cool to be an engineer has made me neglect my actual irl engineering studies. I do realise it is unfair to blame it all on the show given my history of doing anything other than studying when i have to.
As a final point i must express that as a french woman of earth origins i shall pray i never hear another character singing Frère fucking Jacques ever again.
After two episodes of star trek tng : my favourite character is Data
After two seasons of tng : my favourite character is Geordi Laforge
Six seasons in : HI MAY I TELL YOU ABOUT OUR LORD AND SAVIOR WORF HE IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS
Because of reasons i watched these two episodes within 2 weeks of each other and now i think i might not be okay emotionally
Star trek season 5 ep 23 and Doctor Who season 1 ep 6
#why must you make me cry over living beings who are fused with machines and are meant not to have individuality but because of an accident and some woman's compassion they start to feel and they experience loneliness and now they can never fulfill their sole life mission
#yes i know cybermen are the better analogy
#but there were no cybermen in season one of dw and i've rewatched only that one recently
#Hugh looked back 🥲
#He looked at Geordi one last time
#i'm going to cry
#what is it with Geordi and androids
Oh no i'm not a star trek fan i m e a n i 've baaarely started i'm only starting season 4 of TNG t h a t ' s o n l y about 55 h o u r s of content i mean can you imagine. I'm not a fan no i've only learned 2 or 3 words in klingon that's nothing. I mean i wouldn't understand most star trek references so i'm not like... Legit you know. I don't deserve to wear that federation pin i bought 6 months ago.....no yeah
Please, I can't be the only one.
Was watching TNG with my dad and during one of the poker scenes he (while referring to Riker) said something like "I don't understand how anyone could call someone they've slept with "Sie" (polite/professional you in German)" but Worf was on screen at the time so it somehow didn't really click that he was talking about Deanna and for a few baffling seconds I lived in a world where my dad had somehow misconstrued Worf and Riker as having canonically slept with each other.
Yes, but for the other two it's a kind of "haha what the fuck that's horrible lol" and with geordi it's just "what the fuck that's horrible"
For your consideration.
Made an impulse purchase. Going back tomorrow to buy the big enterprise with money I don't have because there is something wrong with me.
For your consideration.
If you like Barclay de Tolly, but you miss a lot of content with him, and at the same time you love fiction, I absolutely seriously recommend watching Star Trek: The Next Generation Because Picard is Barclay in space, not only similar in appearance, but also in character. Enjoy!
