Because of course I couldn't come back to writing fanfictions after 6 years without deciding to make it the first bit of a full fuckin novella.

SYNOPSIS
A couple of months ago, your father received the visit of a certain Sir Sharpe, Baronet, followed by a deal regarding a new invention that could revolutionize mining, and actions that could be granted to your family in the Allerdale Mining company in exchange for financing the prototype. Upon reception of a letter exposing the difficulties encountered in the making of the machine, which had now stalled the process despite how close to its success Sir Sharpe was, you insisted to go and aid him, something you are actually perfectly able to do, as you're the first woman in your country to have earned a Master's degree in civil engineering. Eventually, your dad conceded, on the condition that your twin brother William, an architect in-between contracts, accompany you on the journey to Allerdale hall.
There, beliefs will be broken, secrets old and new will resurface and entombed wounds will reopen. Can everyone, or anyone really, ever come out of Crimson Peak unscathed? Or are the horrors of love always inevitable?

when will people listen to what the dialogue in Crimson Peak actually says about the canonically 2-year-not-grooming age difference between Lucille and Thomas and understand that she was just as lonely and abused as he was when the incest started
you had headcanon all you want about how their relationship evolved by the 1901 but please stop trying to make something that was consensual and born out of desperation for comfort weird

Lucille’s first initial is not a musical note, but let us suppose it is a twisted version of one: L is the twelfth letter of the alphabet, so if we start over again with H, L matches up neatly with…E. Lucille is a strange E-sharp, F-natural that can never truly exist. Her versions of female and family and friend and, yes, even financier are all made strange by things outside the norm. Chief among them, murder: for example, where Edith would bring Thomas money by simply marrying and loving him, Lucille ends up killing people in order to fund his work.

Crimson Peak Main Character Ages
Edith is 24. The flashback at the beginning with Eleanor's ghost happens when she's 10, and then the main action takes place "14 years later" according to a title card onscreen
Thomas is 34, based on the date of the newspaper announcing Beatrice's murder (1879), his age at the time (12), and the present year shown in Carter Cushing's checkbook (1901)
Lucille is 36, from the same logic above. (people seem to enjoy interpreting their age gap as much larger, which is weird to me because it's stated onscreen? by Alan when he's confronting them near the end? even if you don't pause the movie to read document dates- understandable -"12 and 14 when Beatrice was murdered" makes the gap clear)
