I made this the morning before I graduated in a hurry, but I still think it’s one of my strongest pieces of my entire independent study. I already had the idea for the composition for a while (even though the fence should be broken right about where he’s standing). I wanted it to be a statement about teen suicide after reading the tragic love story by Moto Hagio, The Heart of Thomas (1974), and how many circumstances beyond our youth’s control can lead them to drastic actions and unfortunate decisions.
