and on today's random thoughts: i would really appreciate it if The Owl House fandom would kindly stop ignoring The Collector's trauma. just because they're a morally grey character with slightly bad intentions(and i might make a post later as to why *that* isnt entirely their fault either)doesn't mean they don't have any trauma. and with some lines here and there, especially before they were released from their 'prison' shows some indication of trauma. especially in the emotional abuse lane(trust issues and mannerisms. whatnot), and they literally stayed with *Belos* for hundreds of years.

some lines that i can remember are: "waitwaitwaitwait, dont leave, come back!";; "hes my friend, right? he wouldnt lie to me. he wouldnt. weve spent,,hundreds of years playing HIS game.. i,i wanna play. a new. game.";; "i cant wait to get out of this prison!";; "you're not tricking me into doing your chores like Philip. are you?";; and the 'famous'.. "excuse-a-what now?" after realising everything he did was,, for,, literally almost no reason.

"you said you'd use the titan blood to help free me." poor baby,.,,.;, (ehh)

also look at their face as Belos' fist is racing towards them. im not sure if they were able to get hurt physically while in this form, maybe some phantom pains here and there, but its still scary for them nonetheless. especially being so young(mentally)and theyve also gotten used to dodging Belos' attacks, meaning it happened fairly often://

(also just writing this out here since i know a few people may acknowledge their trauma, even slightly, but most just disregard it. and label the collector as a straight up villain)

I like to imagine them going to her with their nightmares, asking her to read them stories, only to fall asleep on her shoulder

I also like to imagine them getting jealous of Luz like King got jealous of Amity 'what!? no collector hug?? I demand to be held' and then they get hugged from three directions by Amity, Luz, and King

'Looks like we're going to be siblings in law, king!' And they get to be flower star person with King (at Luz and Amity's not white wedding but they agreed it was so cute when they both insisted that they just let them)

The Collector just stayed in their usual clothes, and King wore his armour of intimidation and they spent the whole day randomly showering people with little stars with focus on lumity

Also Amity letting them bash their old siblings, and being there for them when they're sad about what they lost and who lied to them.

'I just- wish you'd been my sibling the whole time.'

'Me too. Those archivist people SUCK.'

'YEAH! They didn't even try to find me when I got trapped. They just decided it was good riddance and were disappointed when I came back last week...'

'Excuse me, WHAT. Collector, please stay away from them- if they're going to lure you into a place where you could be in such danger on purpose, then completely ignore you when you get trapped instead of taking your tablet to titans blood to free you or at least bringing you to the stars to keep you company, I dread to imagine what else they'd do to you. I don't want anyone else to hurt you like Belos and the archivists have. You're a good kid, you deserve way better.'

Cue The Collector breaking down in tears in Amity's arms

And also being there for them when they're feeling guilty over their pre-Luz actions, and she can just be like 'same little dude, same' and recount stories of the things she'd done under her parents' control

'Can I make my own book of friendship?'

'Of course, Collector'

Amity reading Otabin to The Collector would be so cute - I think they'd love it, especially having a bedtime story that isn't that malicious pile of stone slabs they have

Hello! I'm a bit new here but I really wanted to show my art

This is an artwork I did today, I'm a bit obsessed with The Collector from the Owl House to the point that I wanted to make them a friend. "The Giver" also a child born from the stars, and has similar powers to The Collector. They played all day long for thousands of years but she was somehow separated from The Collector, but are now reunited again.

Heyo! Big fan of owl house (haven't played hollow, but I know the lore and story) Can we chat?

Oh yes off course , I'd love to !

I really loved the owl house it was such a great show Dana terrace did one hell of a job creating it (such a shame it got "cut")

If you wish to chat let's start with our fav characters.

Mines are , Caleb Wittebane bc OMG charactres that haunt the narrative are my favorite, and there's so much lore unfolded about him. Then there is the collector and the archivist, a god like child and unknown higher beings that bend the fabric of reality are a must for me !

Lilith (yay aro/ace representation !) she loves ancient architecture, so do I .

And last but not least, Belos , no I do not forgive him for his actions no I will not try to justify them, no he's not hot, but I am genuinely passionate about this character psychology and metabolism, it's a quirk of mine, if they are a very complex individual I will automatically like them, I just loooooooove to analyze people and the emperor is one of them. His actions, his train of thoughts are so very bad yet so very interesting, that's why I hate him as a person but love him as a character

A detail I love about this finale episode is King's choice of a game to play with the Collector aka...

The Owl House

In universe, it makes perfect for King, a child, to choose his house & family aka his life that he loves as the subject of a game. Why wouldn't that be the first thing to come to his mind ? (outside of Fetch of course)

But from a viewer perspective ? That is such a double entendre. Because WE play The Owl House. We watch Luz, Eda & King adventures on the Boiling Isles, with an island worth of characters and "players". The Owl House IS a game that requires an island worth of players (and even more with the Human realm) and it IS a game that requires the Collector's help in order to keep going. Because if the Day of Unity goes on, it's game over. We'll lose that game too.

And I think this double-entendre is reinforced by the fact that we have all our children character concurr that The Owl House is a great game. With memories that will last you for a lifetime, that you play everyday. Because The Owl House is their *story*, it's their life with Luz these past few months. (and we have Hunter barely managing a squeak because he hasn't had great run of it these past few months. although he got all these friends and Darius out of it at least) It's a game but also not, and wouldn't it be amazing if this was foreshadowing for what the Collector ends up actually "playing" ? Life ?

On top of that, I'm a big fan of the theory (based on King & The Collector parallels) that they could genuinely become friends. So I hope this is foreshadowing for the Collector to genuinely play "The Owl House" : to be added to Eda's ragtag of misfits, raised and taught right from wrong like she did to King, to find a family as a child that felt unwanted by the world like Luz did. To go on all these silly adventures, to play the game of Life.

Look at him. This child might be too powerful for his own good, but he doesn't have the same malicious intent that Belos does. It seems far more likely to me that he's simply disconnected from other people. Amoral instead of immoral. Too strong to realize what he's doing, and how what he does affect other people. Desperate for company as well. A child with godly powers.

They're terrifying, and we get why King's dad might have emprisonned them. "You're on timeout, get on top of the fridge !" Except it clearly didn't WORK, this child is as excited as ever. And why wouldn't they ? Stick an ADHD child in a dark room with no one to talk to and no way to play, see if that helps them settle down. I don't think it will.

Maybe he'll simply be the final Antagonist and hurt too many people for that to happen. But I think that would be nice, and come full circle with that game of The Owl House.

To live and grow and play and love and stick together in this game of The Owl House.

Your au was better and had a lot more opportunity for some narrative angus.

Like for example, lest say that kid Philip (KP for short) gets tired of waiting to find his brother. So he sneaks out of the castle to find him. He gets lost in the woods and meets that bell goose plasmin. (Let’s call her campana) and they end up bonding. So Kp and campana end up finding hunter. This leads to hijinks where in the end hunter some what lies to Kp about everything. In the end Kp learns the truth about everything he’s done as belos including killing Caleb and realizing he’s evil.

KP sacrifice himself for Luz, the collector now possessing him. And eventually both Kp and the collector are trapped. With then only one really knowing belos change of heart being hunter and Luz. This leads to hunter making a Grimm walker of Philip in secret.

Some notes: belos knows he cannot ever truly be  redeemed, but still wants to do what’s right. He realizes he is the villain and accepts this is how his story ends.

just wanted to adres something cuz i've been getting a bunch of asks about the small mistake au

i know people want more of the au but like i said this au was made with my friend on dc as more of a one off thing since it was based on the meteora thing in svtfoe and i just went with it cuz the og idea i had in my head was basically that philip, yes did get deaged by the collector, but he wasn't a little kid instead he was about 18

and the reason for that was because in that au philip didn't become belos but instead his body got taken over by an entity that then became belos and philip was burried with the curse in the depths of his mind

but in this au the collector did it on purpose to get rid of belos cuz they saw his motivations as something that can mess with the day of unity since the collector has a different idea on what's gonna happen during the day of unity

and also philip knows everything that happened with belos since he saw all the memories while being stuck in the mindscape

and the whole being stuck in the castle thing is against his will since he doesn't agree with what the collector is doing

the reason i didn't post about it was because i thought people wouldn't be interested in this version cuz since my friend showed interest in the other version i though "damn i guess that's better"
