I think it's so sad how capitalism has shaped our perception of learning. So much of learning is set with the goal of it being for a certain use. What can I use this math equation for? What can I use this text for? While it's definitely important to learn stuff that is useful to our lives, we have to remember the beauty of learning just for the sake of learning, even if that knowledge doesn't serve any purpose but to exist and be kind of cool.
But knowledge for the sake of knowledge isn't really cherished by capitalism. In the perspective of pure capitalism, if the info you have doesn't serve you to aquire money, you're just wasting your time when you could work a job or acquire useful money-making skills. This is sadly the world we live in, with more or less privilege to pursue what we want to.
I just wish for a future where we are all able to learn just for the sake of learning because the world and all its patterns are so beautiful!
