Cloud self inserting himself in Zack's place due to his false persona makes sense cause who wouldn't want Sephiroth to look at you like that
the entire false flashback scene is just Cloud's self insert fanfiction.
Highlights from the new FF7 Rebirth trailer that I liked
-Cloud and the gang exploring
-Rufus acting like a Soviet dictator
-Tifa, Aerith, and Yuffie being besties on the golden saucer (also Andrea cameo)
-VINCENT VALENTINE
-Cloud wearing different outfits
-Sephiroth. Just Sephiroth
-Zack being alive in an alternative timeline, while our party is in the main timeline (I WAS RIGHT THERE ARE TWO TIMELINES)
-Sephiroth knowing more shit than before
-"Its upon us, the reunion, when worlds merge. I'm waiting Cloud" SEPHIROTH TRYING TO MERGE THE TWO TIMELINES TOGETHER!?
Before Sephiroth joined Smash, I like to think that in the days leading up to him joining, Cloud keeps on having visions of him and seeing feathers everywhere. He doesn't know if he's hallucinating or if Sephiroth is actually astral projecting himself. Some of the smashers obviously noticed Cloud acting strange and thinking he has some kind of presence
The most damning evidence was when some monsters attacked the mansion, and some of the fighters were affected with miasma, all except for Cloud who was near the source of it yet didn't get infected by it. Peach concluded that it was some kind of guardian angel, much to Cloud's dismay
Peach:I think that someone is watching over you, Cloud, like your own personal guardian angel!
Cloud:*rolling his eyes* Yeah, right, you know I don't believe in that kind of stuff
Peach:I know that, but you've been acting odd like another presence is nearby! That's the only explanation!
Cloud:Yeah, well, I don't think "angel" is the best word to describe it
Days later, Sephiroth joins Smash Bros, and Peach has that look on her face like, "I knew it!"
I recently noticed that Sephiroth's personality in the OG is extremely self-centered and that Aerith says that Sephiroth only cares about the planet and himself during her monolog in Chapter 18 of the Remake.
Sephiroth's goal in the OG FF7 was to absorb all the lifestream in order to become a god. He sees himself on a higher level than the rest of humanity. So the dude has a bit of a god complex.
I've also noticed that Sephiroth is technically like a reverse version of Jesus, and this only fuels his god complex even more. Many of Sephiroth's story beats mirror that of Jesus and his supposed miracles as told in the Bible.
Not to mention that in Advent Children,Sephiroth coming back for a second time mirrors that of the second coming of christ.
Jesus sacrificed his life so that all of humanity gets to go to heaven
Sephiroth sacrifices all of humanity so that he can ascend to heaven.
Religious parallels aside, I think it's pretty interesting that Sephiroth acts as some twisted kind of savior in the FF7 universe. But there's one question that's been lingering on my mind that I hope Rebirth can answer. Like how Jesus sacrificed his life, how would Sephiroth sacrifice his
don't you hear the cry of the planet? (save him)
In today's world news:
"They always say that humans want a piece of heaven"
Cloud could feel his chin being lifted coming face to face with the seraph in front of him. His six black wings wrapped around Cloud's body, so aggressive yet also gentle to the touch.
Sephiroth smiled, looking at the blonde mercenary with a tempting look in his eyes. He unfurled his palm, revealing something red inside of it.
"So how about I give you this?"
Cloud looked at Sephiroth's right hand as a familiar red fruit suddenly appeared into midair.
"An apple?"
"Yes, Cloud, an apple. But this is no ordinary apple. "
"So what is it then?" Cloud looked at the red fruit in front of him. It looked like an ordinary apple, but upon looking closer, Cloud could see that it shone brightly like the sun.
"A fruit from the tree of knowledge, humans are forbidden to eat it, but I managed to sneak in and get it just for you~"
Oh boy, was Cloud in for it now. Here, he was tangled up in the wings of a fallen seraph being handed a divine fruit from the godly garden.
Cloud didn't want to admit it, but it wasn't the apple he found tempting.
So I've been noticing something regarding Hollow and the Kabbalah (it's way too complicated to explain here, but it's basically just Jewish mystism). Anyways, in the Kabbalah, there are these divine attributes called the sefirot from which God would reveal himself. It's also very important because this is where Sephiroth got his name from.
There's also the polar opposite of the sefirot, the qliphoth. The qlipoth that protects the sefirot much like how a peel protects a fruit. The qlipoth are also known to be called "empty shells/husks"
It's like there... hollow inside. Just like Cloud Strife himself
So without these sefirot (divine attributes) that manifest in the physical and spiritual realms, the universe will basically descend into chaos, which is the last thing we want. Cloud and Sephiroth during the edge of creation scene represent the universes of creation (Cloud) and death (Sephiroth), yin and yang,
The Qliphoth and the holy Sefirot
Well...without the sefirot, what will the qlipoth's purpose be? They are now empty, hollow shells, kinda like how Cloud's mind is shattered and how he wants to be whole again, yet he needs to regain his true self in order to do so. The sefirot makes the qlipoth complete, just like how Cloud becomes complete with Sephiroth.
I would be lost drifting alone.
they say the devil was the prettiest angel
Sephiroth never even revealed Jenova like this in the OG as a part of his plan, so why is he doing this? Isn't revealing her nature the last thing Sephiroth wanted to do?
Here's what I think is happening, Sephiroth is being forced to work against Cloud. He traveled back in time, still tethered to Jenova, hoping to stop her and save the planet from whatever destiny it's tethered to (yet it also has consequences as we see in the alternative timeline)
Yet he's still shackled to Jenova, so he needs Cloud's help in order to break free from her, but Jenova is taking advantage of Cloud's shattered mental state and false persona, so it's like a godly game of tug a war.
I think the Sephiroth who's manipulating Cloud and trying to convince him that Tifa isn't real is the past version of him from the OG, while the real Sephiroth, the one who we've been following all along, is trying to break free from destiny's grasp, stop Jenova and save the planet.
I could be wrong, and this is just a retelling of the OG, but I don't buy that one bit, especially when both the developers and part of the story say otherwise. Anyways, that's what I grabbed from this scene.
Sephiroth goes through molting season
He can not fly during this time, everything hurts, and feathers are everywhere. It's an absolute mess.
He normally molts outside in a place less crowded with people. God forbid feathers get all over his clothes.
Baths help with loosening up his feathers. He uses a natural body of water if he can find one, He may also bring a ton of blankets to keep his temperature stable.
He has to vacuum his room twice a week. That's how many feathers he sheds
His wing is sometimes extremely sensitive, and he hates it when it is touched. He doesn't want to be seen as vulnerable, so he mostly keeps it tucked in and only gets it out as needed.
Now, if someone tries to RESTRAIN Sephiroth's wing, then hoo boy, that's a different story. Do that to him, and a different side of Sephiroth will show.
He sleeps using his wing as a blanket
Sephiroth sometimes prefers to wear loose-fitting clothes or no clothes at all, especially during molting season, to give his wing more space.
I cannot stop thinking about Cloud and Sephiroth jian bird symbolism.
A Jian bird is a mythical bird that possesses only one eye and one wing. We already see this in both Cloud and Sephiroth's Kingdom Hearts designs.
Another thing about Jian birds are that they are two halves of a whole, dark and light, yin and yang.
"These creatures are born imperfect, and they need to lean against each other and act as one in order to be able to fly. Their mutual dependence is eternal, lasting through death and rebirth."
This symbolism just SCREAMS Sefikura to me, like imagine the possibilities this has in store for the FF7R Trilogy.
And you know what they say, without their other half, someone is left feeling empty or should I say...hollow 👀
I have Safer Sephiroth brainrot. Do you have any headcanons about his Safer form? It's ok if you don't have any, I'm just being a simp
I don't know if I have specific hcs yet on Safer, but rather than leave you empty handed, here's a few things...
Safer Sephiroth has gone through some very interesting design changes in the last decade. There's his original form from FF7, which of course is designed to resemble biblical angels.
And then you have his newer Dissidia design which still somewhat keeps the angel look, but has added new striking features to give him a more beastly/alien appearance.
Note the claws, facial markings, and duller, darker colors. His eyes are also now completely without pupils as well, giving him a decidedly more otherworldly air. I really like it.
SO with that in mind, here's a mild Safer Sephiroth Sephcanon.
His Safer form decays and warps literally every time he merges into it. While it was bright and beautiful and breathtaking in FF7, his form is slowly becoming more and more twisted and unsettling over time, becoming more demonic than angelic. Jenova's presence is pumping him with godlike power, but it's also rotting him from the inside out.
Advent Children music playing during Sephiroth-related scenes
He knows more things than the rest of the main cast (Aerith also knows things but not as much as Sephiroth)
Sephiroth got his famous wing in Advent Children, yet somehow he has it in the Remake (this is the biggest piece of evidence that Sephiroth time traveled)
Ok but if the Remake is really like some people say, the OG FF7 all over again, then how the heck does Sephiroth have his famous black wing when HE ONLY HAS IT IN ADVENT CHILDREN, WHICH TAKES PLACE AFTER THE ORIGINAL FF7?
Hallucination or not, Sephiroth guided Cloud so that he could meet Aerith, shows him The Edge Of Creation, asks Cloud to defy destiny, shows him and the party a vision of meteor, and says really cryptic lines, and I think these reasons are really telling peices of evidence that Sephiroth time traveled.
Now Cloud at the beginning of FF7R doesn't care about the planet, remember he is hiding behind his 'too cool' persona.
Here is what I realized.
I noticed how Sephiroth says some very cryptic things towards Cloud, so it got me thinking.
What is Sephiroth doing? He is TRYING to make him 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦.
He says things in Cloud's hallucinations like "our beloved planet is dying." and "The bonds that connect us will be no more, and I loathe to live in such a world"
Heck even during the Edge Of Creation scene, he SHOWS Cloud the result of what WOULD happen if the planet did die saying "our world will become a part of it, someday"
He then asks Cloud to help him defy destiny, not only to defy his fate but the fate of the planet as well. SOMETHING is causing the planet to die, and it isn't Shinra cause Aerith said so in one of her speeches.
It's destiny itself that is making the planet die, cause in the OG it WAS Sephiroth and the PATH HE CHOOSE that causes him to try and kill off the planet in the OG. But here's the thing. Sephiroth in the FF7 universe has free will, yet he needs HELP. He wants to break free from destiny's grasp like he's trying to do in the FF7R trilogy.
And so he turns to the one person he knows that can help him, the ONE PERSON who knows him better than anyone else. The ONE PERSON who can help save the world by his side.
That person is Cloud Strife
Sephiroth is trying not only to stop his cruel fate but he's trying to stop himself as well.
Making Cloud's reason why he wanted to join SOLDER cause of Sephiroth will be much more impactful on the plot and Cloud's character arc as a whole. But this is just in the realm of headcanon
I want the FF7R Trilogy to move away from the original plot. It just doesn't make any sense to me that they will tell the same story again, like the party literally changed the course of destiny and the Whispers are literally RIGHT THERE. Also, the developers teased this as well from what I saw.
Sephiroth should sacrifice himself to save the planet. It will be so much more meaningful to his character, who is all about wanting to follow his own path and break free from the chains of his fate. It will make a perfect redemption arc if it even happens.
I personally think that Cloud and Tifa should just stay friends and that the developers can leave the shipping up to player interpretation. Besides, the game is not always about shipping.
I think that Hollow being about Zack and Aerith is a red herring. It isn't even about his true self either.
That is all I have for now. So please don't go after me, it's OK to have different opinions about something. You just have to be respectful! These are just my thoughts and feelings about FF7 and the Remake and I hope you enjoy them!
Since it's almost Christmas, here's me and my friend @fruitymocha singing the holiday classics
He's so pretty! Shjaskkakskajksm
Disappointing conference from square this year, so here’s a small doodle of sephiroth. At least a lot of other cool games were shown. That’s something to look forward to.
Happy anniversary of the day that I met Sephiroth! 🖤🪶
“Sephiroth is coming to smash” has the same syllables as “Santa Claus is coming to town” and i expect y'all to adjust accordingly

Shining brightly... ✨️☄️•°"
I present to you, my very (crappy) analysis of my very own Time Travel Sephiroth theory (with a poorly drawn timeline).
This is just theory by this point but I believe the Sephiroth that we saw in Chapter 18 is actually the Original Sephiroth who traveled back in time to reshape destiny. As a defense mechanism the planet summons the Whispers to make sure fate stays on track. The Whispers are confirmed to be connected to the threads of space and time. This explains the visions of the future that the party and other people see, because Sephiroth time traveling altered the threads that the Whispers are connected to.
