Even if it's hard for me to keep a routine, what I know is that I love Selene very much.

My take in Apollo and Artemis design
It still ticks me off that I can't have the Apollo google search background for Artemis hhh
Also bonus: Selene and Helios
Did you have traits of your deities as a kid?
Recently I realized I had traits of the deities I ended up worshipping and thought it was interesting.
Athena: I have always been a curious child seeking wisdom. Instead of telling me bedtime stories, my dad would ask me, "What do you want to know about?" and he would put on a YouTube video about the topic.
I also used to follow those shitty "did you know…?" Ig accounts; I just wanted to know more no matter the topic.
For her goddess of crafts aspect, that's the one I most strongly connect with.
I LOVE crafting. Ever since I was a kid, I literally craft something new every day, and if not, I'm thinking/looking for what to craft next.
Artemis: I was obsessed with the movie "Brave" as a kid; I wanted to be a hunter and live in the forest so badly.
I had a bunch of toy bows and arrows that I would play with all day, so basically I wanted to be like Artemis.
I know I would have gone crazy if I knew about her at that age, lol. (And I did go "Wait, that's literally me" when I learned about her.)
Selene: My name is literally Moon (Luna). I have always been obsessed with the moon since I was young.
One time I was looking at her, and my parents called out to me, but I was in some kind of trance just looking at her.
My dad had to touch me so I would stop staring at her.
-
Although I don't worship him (but I'm thinking about it), it just reminded him so badly of him I had to include it.
Hermes: My friend Group was "enemies" with another girl, I would serve as the messenger between us.
Sometimes I would modify the message to make them mad at each other just for fun.
I randomly remembered and was like, "Wait, that's so Hermes."
So, did you have traits of your deities as a child?
So I made a post about my favorite song about Lady Selene and how the lyrics resonate with me because I don't know when I'll see her or where she's hiding.
I fell asleep quite early and got sad because I thought I wouldn't be able to see her.
I was doomscrolling through my phone when I noticed a bright white light out of my window.
I jokingly thought, "What if it's the moon?" I went outside to get a better look (I was thinking maybe it was a light from the apartment that's right in front of mine).
And it was, in fact, Lady Selene!
I have literally never seen her at this hour, and the fact I was awake just at the right time!
For now I'll just enjoy the time I get to see her.
Thank you, Lady Selene, for letting me see your beauty!
Just wanted to share this song that reminds me of lady selene!
Especially because the lyrics, I live in an apartment, and so I rarely see the moon.
"Goddess Moon, when are you coming?"
"Goddess Moon, where do you hide?"
I never know at what hour to see her. or where she's hiding! It reminds me a lot of my relationship with her, so I love it, lol.
Also, The Dancer and the Moon is another good song! (While I was writing that, I was listening to her playlist, and the song immediately came up,lmao)
Before praying I like to rinse my arms, hands and head with moon water. Then I scent around with lavender oil. Every single thing that brings sleep is good for the god of dreams.
I've decided to start wearing amethyst and moonstone before praying and so, gifting my sleep to the gods of the night. I intend to learn soon the prayers to Hypnos from the Orphic Hymns, too.
René Magritte. "La Fenêtre de Mélusine," 1953.
excuse me, do you know how selene's hair works? you did a perfect job with it but i still don't understand if she's wearing a helmet or something, nad you seem like the only one who knows what's up
LOL tbh I’m not quite sure myself, but this is what I think is happening
Since her hair seems to reflect cloud-like properties, I think the cast shadow from the inside of the helmet is mixing with her hair causing that fused look
If anything else, there’s always this option:
Selene, Goddess of the Moon
Statue of Selene, shown wearing the crescent on her forehead and holding a torch in her right hand, while her veil billows over her head.
In Greek mythology, Selene (Ancient Greek: Σελήνη [selɛ̌ːnɛː] "Moon") is the goddess of the moon. She is the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia, and sister of the sun-god Helios, and Eos, goddess of the dawn. She drives her moon chariot across the heavens.
Several lovers are attributed to her in various myths, including Zeus, Pan, and the mortal Endymion. In classical times, Selene was often identified with Artemis, much as her brother, Helios, was identified with Apollo.
The Moon is round, blotchy, spotty, rough-skinned, 'imperfect'. Try and tell me The Moon isn't beautiful.
Take a picture of The Moon with your phone. Looks bad, right? Cameras have a habit of taking something beautiful and making it look bad.
[Image description: a dark, blurry iPhone picture of the Moon and some distant artificial lights. The only detail that can be made out is the crescent shape. End ID]
Some more facts about The Moon
The surface is darker than asphalt.
It isn't symmetrical. The farside has more craters and less maria than the nearside.
Some people see a face on it. This is known as 'The Man on The Moon'
It takes moonlight 1.2 seconds to reach Earth at the speed of light
Posting old work. I’ve always wanted Marvel to lean more heavily on Selene’s witchier side. She’s a horror story character trapped in a superhero comic book. My favorite story of hers was during Necrosha and they were building into her mythology by having Warpath’s tribe interact with her culturally— a coyote forever hungry, forever bringing ruin to the villages she visits.
