When they found out that Mc has wings (Angel! MC)

Notes:Male!MC x the various dorm leaders

prompt: when the dorm leaders found out that MC has angel-like wings after he’s been injured lightly (TW alert) by their dorm fellows

Riddle Rosehearts

he went to ramshackle to check on you since the other day a couple of blokes from his dorm mocked you and made you fell to the ground  (the two were collared the second he found out thanks to Ace and Deuce)

The ghosts tried to stop him from going to your room, saying that you weren’t there and other things, but he didin’t care. He wanted to see you, make sure that you were ok

He opened the door without knocking and saw you

You were shirtless and were stretching your big, white-feathered wings

The second you tuned, hearing the door open, He wide opened his eyes, unbelieving

it took him a couple of seconds to realize your left wing was injured, and you were medicating it with some raw bandages.

“ R-Riddle look I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier-!” You were scared he was going to leave you alone. Or mock on you. Or hit you.

Riddle stepped closer, a serious yet really worried expression on his face, “firstly, we have to get you medicated by a real doctor, then we will talk!”

In the end He was just really curious of your Wings, he even asked if he could touch them, like a child.

You agreed since the only reaction if someone touches them is a sensation similar to tickling, and how to say no to that little face?

He touched them as gently as he could, complimenting how soft your Feathers were.

a couple of days later one of your feathers naturally fell off, and you brought it to him as a gift

“When an angel gives a human one of his feather”, you said, “it’a symbol of great trust and love!”

he went from white to his color’s hair in 0.001 seconds

“t-Thank you very much, (y\n)! I will protect this at all costs, to show you how much I deserve this!”

Leona Kingscholar

He was napping as always in the School’s greenhouse

When he heard a suffocated scream followed by quick steps. He smelled your scent but...it was somehow strange

he smelled a feather scent...which was really unusual. Did you dress as a bird or something??

He opened one eye, seeing you hiding behind some big plants...he saw a white schield.

He widened his eyes a little, crawling closer to you without being noticed.

“damnit! damnit!” you cursed, taking gently with your hands  the end your wing. A stupid savanaclaw student decided to mock you and give you a push. You fell to the ground, hurting your fragile wing.

the savanaclaw student entered the greenhouse, wanting to apologize to you. He didn’t meant to make you fell.

Instead, he found his dorm leader growling at him

“ and what are you supposed to be doing here, you little Punk?” . the student felt like Leona was about to eat him Alive

he told him everything, clarifying that he wanted to apologize to you: he even took you a little flower from Sam’s!

there were seconds of silence. You shyly lifted your head up from the plant to look at the boy, and were surprised to see Leona. Where did he pop out from?!

Leona fucking ROARED THE SHIT OUT OF THAT STUDENT

“leave before I make all of your parent’s effort useless, ripping your face to shreads”

he ran fasted than bee-beep

The lion man stepped closer to you.

leona carried you bridal-style, ignoring your words, making the wings look like a feathered cloak, to your dorm, where he made you sit on your bed and medicated you

“ you could’ve just told me that you were a bird, stupid herbivore”, he smirked, “ I wouldn’t have eat you the same”

you were now a flustered mess as you looked up at him

“ t-thanks Leona... I guess..”

you hugged him out of agitation, englobing both of you with your big wings

the lion man was surprised at first, then smiled and hugged you back, careful to not hurt your wings

“tch, next time call me when someone tries to pick on you, understood, herbivore?”

Azul ashengrotto

He was going back to mostro lounge after his club activites

while going he saw, in a classroom, a couple of his dorm fellows whose were laughing at something...or at someone?

He went there to check and saw you, asleep on your seat, with big feathered wings showing.

The two boys, who didin’t notice him, were mocking the asleep boy, touching his wings and playing with them

Azul was this close to turn them into seagulls

“ and what are you talking about in such a joyful tone, gentlemen?” He asked with a death glare

The two boys were shocked to see their dorm leader there (and as angry as ever) and immediately apologized to him. the one who was looking at your wings left it in hurry, making it fall ho the ground making a horrible noise, for some reasons.

Azul had death and flames of hell in his eyes.

“ you’ll apologize when this little youth is awake. now out of my view, before making your position worse than how much it already is”

the two ran faster than light, already guessing who’s gonna do the bath job at mostro lounge for the month

Azul took you in his arms gently, covering your wings with his coat and bringing you back to your dorm.

When you opened your eyes, remembering how you fell asleep right after classes, you saw Azul sitting at the edge of the bed

When he saw your big eyes, looking at him, he smiled: a lovely, warm smile

“ I see you’re awake, little angel” he giggled, making you remember your wings

you looked at them in hurry, and saw that the edge of one was bandaged. You looked at Azul, who explained the situation he found you in

you smiled and took a little feather, positioning it on his fedora, smiling and saying “When an angel gives a human one of his feather, it’a symbol of great trust and love!”, you placed your hands on his, which were bigger than yours

he blushed hardly, smiling shyly

“Thank you, my little angel...I promise I won’t make it go to waste”

Kalim Al-Salim

image

He was just happy going around in his dormitory, doing absolutely nothing as always.

while going around he saw a couple of boys moking his precious friend and crush (y\n)

he was all wet on his knees, one boy was holding a big metal bucket, him and his fellow were laughing

Kalim coughed loudly to get their attention, looking at them with a frowning face

“ so, what happened here?” he asked as Jamil, who was looking for him stepped forward.

the two looked worried af as they tried to excuse themselves

“ Jamil”, Kalim’s tone was really angry, “excort them. seems like someone wants to do extra-training for the day!”

When the other were gone, Kalim turned to you and widened his eyes in shock: you had two big, white wings covering and englobing your shivering body.

“ oh dear seven! you have wings?! are those wings?! you’re shivering- oh my!”

he took you gently to his room, where he gave you a scarabia uniform for changing.

he noticed his wings tho, took a pair of scissors and cut it in order for your wings to be comfty.

“w-why did you did that!?” you exclaimed.   “because i want you to be comfty with your wings!” he smiled as he gave you it and indicated you the bathroom, where you could change.

after you went out, he looked at you and lightly blushed, saying how beautiful you looked in his dorm’s uniform

“ and the wings..?” you asked looking at him, worried. You didn’t want him to hate you. “don’t you think that I’m too much different...?”

he smiled, stepped closer to you and gently placed his hand on your cheek, with the other hand he lifted your hair from your forehead before pressing his lips on it. Then looked back at your beautiful eyes and exclaimed

“You could be a centaur, a monster from hell, a beast. I would not care at all!”

Vil Schoenheit

image

Vil was going to your dorm, since Epel told him that two guys from Pomefiore gave you some problems and unwanted comments

the two deliquents were left to rook if you were wondering.

He asked the ghosts if you were sleeping or something

regardlessy on how they responded, he went straight to your room, knocking at the door

there was no respond tho.

after a couple of minutes, he entered, seeing you in a corner of the room, englobed in a white weird-looking thing..?

it took him a couple of second to understand that those were feathers..that were coming out of your shirtless back.

were you asleep? he couldn’t tell

he kneeled in front of the figure, removing as gently as possible the wings.

you fell asleep after returning in your dorm. you wing was black in the inside, Vil thought for the worse. Did they try to arse you or something!?

he tried to remain calm, gently taking you bridal style and making you lay on your bed. in that moment you opened one eye

“ oh, Vil! why you’re here looking all worr-MY WINGS!” you exlaimed remembering that there wasn’t the spell covering them.

you panicked trying to hide them, but before doing anything Vil blocked you

“ hey, little potato, calm down! I couldn’t care less that you have wings now, you’re injured!”

you looked at your blackened wing, then at Vil. than you started laughing

you explained that yes, you had a little cut, but the wing made its feathers black to cover it, so it wasn’t really a big deal

but for vil it wasn’t a big deal, no, it was a HELL of a deal!

he stayed with you until your wings returned white

he seemed almost protective toward you, if he was before now more than ever.

before he was about to leave, you asked him to dance, since you liked dancing

he smiked a little, pulled you close to him and started dancing.

you were a flustered mess, the ghost even played a classical waltz song

at the end of the music, he kissed your forehead gently, giving you a little smile and caressing your rosy cheek

“ seems like I can’t call you a little potato anymore...what about little bird then? do you like it? in case you don’t, feel free to demand how you would like me to refer to you”

Idia shroud

image

he found out thanks to his brother

a couple of blokes from Ignihyde tried to mock you, but ortho saw everything and brought you to Idia, so that you could tell him what happened and make the two have a terrible day.

Idia freaked out  when he saw your injured wings yes...but out of curiosity

he asked some questions while medicating you, and you decided to tell him about your family, an aristocratic-like angel dynasty, well-known for their love for luxury. They had many eyes and hands all over the world, and their greatest flex were their pearl-like feathers. you weren’t different for them. but you hated how  they didin’t care at all for humans. a demon you knew was way more interested in Humans’s well-being than them, and they were angels!

Idia listened to you, and at the end of the story he timidly asked you if you would’ve liked if he could talk to you about videogames or anime.

he felt closer to your story. a complicated family was no new to him, so he wanted to cheer you up a bit and distract you from your pain. even if only a little...he was ready to try!

you were excited at the idea, so you sat next to him on his bed, listening to him talking for hours

you completely forgot the wing pain

in the meanwhile, you even hugged him, cuddled close to him and used your wings for embracing him

Idia was now a flustered mess as he gently caressed your hair and a little your wings

“ Y-you look like you...emh...fell from heaven? I guess?”

Malleus Draconia

image

he was walking near your dorm at night. nothing special

He heard a shout, it came from your room

He dashed in the dorm, ignoring the ghost, and opened the door

he saw you kneeled to the ground, with a little of blood dripping from what it seemed like a white-feathered wing

he went closer to you, gently taking you by your shoulder and making you red against his shoulder, making you seat on his knee. You looked tired

“ what happened little child of man?! who dared do this?!” he asked, fury in his voice

it made you feel scared, you covered your face in embarassment

“a couple of boys from..Diasomnia I think...They noticed my spell for hiding my wings and started ordering me to show them what I hid. When I refused the started hit me, making me loose a couple of feathers...”

Malleus knew how hurtful it was loosing a feather not naturally. It was one of the most painful thing for non-humans..and angels, he supposed.

he embraced you in his arms, gently holding you and using a healing spell to make your wing heal

“ don’t worry, child of divine, for I will confront them personally!” he said, am little of anger and worry in his voice

he caressed you cheek, removing a tear you shed from pain

he demanded you to describe the two authors of such cruelty, as he held you as he was holding a baby

once you finished, he made you lay on your bed, made sure that you were comfortable, then sitting right aside you and starting to sing you a lullaby, like Lilia used to do

he wanted his little child of man (or divine now) to feel safe and sound

white falling asleep, you took his hand in yours, placing it on your cheek. You felt indeed safe with Malleus by your side.

the following day, you found out that the two boys were punkished by malleus himself, and Lilia said that he seemed really angry

but when you met him in the corridors, he smiled at you, acting even more protective and happy than usual with you.

you gave him a feather that fell this morning.

he smiled, knowing what that meant to and angel, and embraced you

“ fear not my little child of Man, for I will always be by your side in the darkest moments, and in most joyful too if you would like me to”

hope you enjoyed! :D

"I Love You"

When the words "I love you" spill from the prefect's lips, how do the Housewardens react?

Part 2

TW: Kissing in Leona's part, mentions of insecurities (Fluff)

Part 1 (Separate): Riddle Rosehearts, Leona Kingscholar, Azul Ashengrotto

ᥫ᭡. Riddle Rosehearts ᥫ᭡.

Like the thorns on a rose bush, Riddle's words were piercing and harsh. A follower of rules and also a preacher. Even so, what rules could he apply to you? You who was from another world entirely, you who understood little of his world yet were so brave, and you who broke his rules but never angered him. He was so utterly confused. He wasn't sure what he felt, really, you were far from perfect- mother wouldn't approve . Still, he couldn' t deny how his cheeks flared up when you walked into the same room, how he'd slightly fumble his words, and especially how his warnings were much tamer when you broke a rule. It all had to mean something or maybe he was going crazy. How could he like you, even a little- but how could he not?

But he had priorities and you weren't supposed to be one of them, you weren't meant to be a worry, you weren't supposed to be anything. But he cared. So much so, he didn't mind when you broke his rules, it felt right. It was the opposite to all that he was taught, something was amiss. It felt like a fresh breath of air, akin to sunlight engulfing him in a warm embrace. He felt at peace when you were nearby, as if he needn't be so uptight. Maybe it was alright for a few rules to be broken, to enjoy what life had to offer, to allow himself to relax.

He really was grateful for your calming presence, reminiscent to a fresh cup of herbal tea- with a slight hint of cinnamon, subtly spicy. Just like you were, not quite sweet but not sour, maybe spicy was the right term? So earthy and full of life, different from his dull self. But with you near him, he didn't feel so dull even he could be fun- at least you enjoyed his presence, it was enough.

Despite that, you weren't fair- why did he feel so warm when you came close? What right did you have making his face go red, and not from anger? Who allowed you to be so ethereal?

It wasn't fair.

How you were so insufferably pretty, and the way you'd willingly spend time with such a hot-head like him, trying your best to follow the rules of his dorm. You'd try to accommodate yourself to him, you'd really do that for him? He could just melt in your arms. The way you didn't mind when he lectured you for your recklessness, not speaking up but simply eyeing him with wide eyes- how was he even supposed to speak? You'd study alongside him, let him tutor you and afterwords you'd always stay for a cup of tea. He got used to it- your company and your mannerisms. Different from him, yet truly appreciated.

It was another tutoring session when something unforseen took place. Your hand was raveled in your hair as you grumbled and groaned, you hadn't expected the study packets Riddle provided to be so difficult. You had a test in two-weeks, it was time you started practicing practical magic, lucky you having Riddle by your side.

It was a tough night full of nit-picking, you'd say he was mean but you could see how he was trying his best to be tame with his words- how they were harsh but not mean, truly, this was also a challenge for him.

Hours went by, the moon rose in the sky and you were a tired mess, at least Riddle's tutoring helped. You were just about to thank him when the words spilled out of your mouth, unknowingly. Sleepy eyes looked up at him while a soft smile played at your lips.

"I love you, you know?"

How cruel of you to simply doze of afterwards, would you not even listen to what he had to say? Maybe it was for the best, if you were awake he wouldn't be able to meet your gaze. After all, his face was even redder than before, butterflies in his stomach as he simply stood there- had he been dreaming? He hoped not, it would be sadistic of life to play such a joke. He only realized it wasn't a dream when your head touched his hand, you were asleep and comfortable- you felt safe around him, trusted him. It was endearing.

Nevertheless, it was improper for you to doze off all of a sudden. But, just for today, he'd allow you- 'rules are meant to be broken', was what you always said. This was his form of breaking a rule, such a rebel he was. His hand traveled to your face, cupping you cheek gently before he draped a blanket over you- red like roses and Riddle himself.

"I love you too.."

A whisper, he hoped you heard it. Maybe you did and maybe you didn't- he might say it once more, after you awake. Till then, just let him admire you who looked so serene.

ᥫ᭡. Leona Kingscholar ᥫ᭡.

You're really gonna keep trying, aren't ya herbivore? Always trying to push him to go to class, to set his life straight. Really, why do you even care? Every time he pushes you away, orders you to bring him a snack, tells you to remain his pillow. You do it. Why do you stay? No one else would- he's a prince, is that it? His wealth, his influence, the power he holds. Is that what you want a part of? Everyone else had, just to ditch him after.

If you do, he doesn't mind- just stay, please don't go.

He wouldn't admit it but he liked your presence, the way you constantly clung to him, tried to lend a hand to help him who was strong while you were so weak. He might just go to class now, and he does, much more than before. You're a motivation he works for, it brings a smile on your little face. He wants it to stay, he doesn't even know why.

What really affects him is when he realizes, that you stay not for his money, nor his power and influence. You just like him. You enjoy his company, him as a person, an individual. He's not 'the second prince of Sunset Savannah' to you. No, he's Leona Kingscholar to you- not a second option, not someone you'll leave any time soon, and someone you genuinely care for.

Fine then, if his herbivore stays for him- he'll work them. You are a motivation to him, with your sweet words and the time you willingly spend- he too will work for you and be your reason to remain in Twisted Wonderland.

Was it selfish of him to want you to stay, no matter the cost? Maybe, but he is a prince- some habits don't leave, especially not when he's found his reasoning to move forward. He'll change some of his ways for you, it's cute when your face lights up as you notice him heading to class.

He doesn't change every one of his ways though. Why would he, when those ways of his allow him to see your face? You being pulled by Ruggie and towards him to wake him up, and you do- soft nothings spill from your lips as your try to wake the lazy lion before you. Of course he's awake, it's clear he is when he pulls you beside him. His weight stops you from moving, it's a usual now.

"Just stay for a bit, yeah? I promise I'll go to next class after, so just stay with me."

You do, it's comforting but so confusing. It's not appropriate for you to have feelings for someone like him, a prince of another world- you might have to go back to your won, though, you don't really want tot leave when Leona's around. It feels as though you're doing something meant for 'more than friends', something wrong. None of you confront it. It's serene in this silence, his warmth, in his embrace. It's a mutual feeling of safety, a haven. Let it last while it does, he'll make sure it's forever.

"I love you."

And the words spill out of your mouth, no ones near, just him and you. One of his eyes open, a neutral look on his face- you're not sure what to make of it. You don't have to, he's just shocked, not that he'll admit it. He didn't expect his herbivore to be so bold, he likes it, he likes you- loves you too. A grin soon flashes on his face, sharp canines flashing before he pulls you closer. You know what he's insinuating, you abide. He has a hold on the back of your head, hand intertwined in your hair.

It's a surprisingly soft kiss, it makes you want to melt- this is his answer, his reciprocation to your declaration of love. He's too smug to say anything.

Then the both of remain, safe in each others embrace. Your legs are entangled and chest touching the other's, you both relax.

"Love you too herbivore."

It's fleeting words, so soft that you barely heard them and if you did, you're not sure it's reality. As you seem to doze off, there's one thing in your mind. Where else would you go other than his embrace? This was your home.

ᥫ᭡. Azul Ashengrotto ᥫ᭡.

A swindler in the flesh and a contract that binds one to the other. Azul wishes it were that easy, but it's not. The last thing he wishes for is your hatred, you're already wary of him. The interactions he does manage to secure, somehow quite frequently, always render you even more skeptical of him. So guarded and cautious, his reputation's not the best but he isn't a monster, so why are you always scurrying off? Just let him speak, please?

But fate has another plan in mind for you always seem to bump into the swindler that you seem to avoid so- match made in heaven? As if. You won't believe his sweet lies, you won't sign a contract with him- but that's not what it's about. He doesn't wish for a contract, just some of your time.

As your interactions with him increase, you're introduced to very many versions of Azul. Being a swindler was just one part of him, the one that made wary. Nonetheless, he wasn't a monster- quite sweet actually, once you spent the much needed time with him. Words were exchanged, and you were warming up to him, slowly but gradually. Placed on his palm is your trust for safekeeping, you hope he doesn't break it.

As time goes by, you realize the swindler isn't at all what he seems- he has his own walls guarding him, his own insecurities. It's not what you expected, yet it adds to his character- it makes him human, he has a heart. The parts he hides are what attracts you to him- he sees it as a moth to a flame, hiding his failures. Yet, you look at it as a bee to a flower, so dainty a bond but so sweet.

Days go by and you notice how shy he can be, the smallest things can fluster him who seemed so sly. It's endearing, really. Your walls slowly break down, revealing your true person while he allows you to see glimpses of his own self, slow but steady. You don't mind, you both can take your time- walk hand in hand towards trust.

It's another night in his office, spent with him working on contracts. He truly is a hard worker, ambitious too. You admire those qualities, maybe not all the work he does but him as an individual is what you like. You don't seem to notice how the three words roll off your tongue, hand tangled in his locks of gray, seemingly playing with his hair; until you do, in fact, realize.

"Azul, I love you.."

Ink is spilled everywhere, the black coating the table and contracts on it. The pitter patter of the liquid allows him time to realize what you really said.

Those words that spilled of your tongue- so sugary sweet, could it be true? No contract needed, no form of force just his presence alone would suffice? He was enough.

His hand clutched yours tightly, ocean eyes looking up at you from his seat, tears spill from his eyes. He was so vulnerable in that moment, you found his true self as he had found yours. It's a nod from you that shows him that it's not a joke but reality.

"I-I love you too.."

He fumbles the words out too, a faint blush coating his cheeks as he looks away and to the ground. A giggle escapes your lips as you plant a kiss on his cheek.

Maybe the swindler was swindled by your love, except there was no catch- just your love, all for him.

Pairing: Riddle X GN!Reader Genre: Fluff

Pairing: Riddle x GN!Reader Genre: Fluff

Everything about Riddle Rosehearts is almost perfect.

He’s handsome, kind, respectful, smart, and very well-spoken — but he takes nearly everything too seriously. That, of course, includes his work.

When you initially saw him at the company’s grand event for new hires, he could have easily fooled you for being an executive with the way he carries himself.

It comes as a surprise when you discover that not only will the two of you be working in the same department together, but you’re also the same age.

But it’s not like you obtained this information from the man himself. Instead, one of your seniors — an attractive young man named Cater Diamond who claims to have gone to college with Riddle — was the one to let you know.

“Are you interested in Riddle? I can call him over if you’d like,” Cater’s eyes hold a glimmer of mischief as he speaks of the offer.

You raise an eyebrow skeptically before sparing a glance towards the general direction you last saw Riddle disappearing into. You absentmindedly stir your vodka tonic with a straw and shake your head.

“No, thanks. A man like that has no interest in sitting around and talking to fresh meat like me,” you state plainly, causing Cater to chuckle in amusement.

“Oh, you’re misunderstanding him. Riddle’s great. Here, I’ll prove it,” Cater sits up straight and ignores your hushed pleas for him to stop whatever it is he was planning on doing. He cups his hands on either side of his mouth before calling out, “Riddleeee! Over hereeee!”

You shrink into yourself in embarrassment as most of the conversations around you cease. You could practically feel all the eyes burning curious holes into your figure, but thankfully the feeling doesn’t last for too long.

The sound of someone clearing their throat makes you correct your posture, and you find yourself face-to-face with Riddle Rosehearts once you’ve sat up properly.

“You didn’t have to yell to get my attention, Cater,” Riddle scolds the older man, but the latter doesn’t seem to mind the stern tone in his voice.

Cater rubs the back of his neck and offers the younger man an apologetic smile, “I’m sorry, but you were all the way across the room. Anyways, have you met y/n yet?”

“Y/n?” Riddle questions, his head turning to follow the direction Cater’s hand is gesturing towards.

He meets your eyes just as you were about to turn away and hide. But since you’re caught in the act, you’re forced to offer him a tight-lipped smile and a small wave, “that would be me. Hi.”

“Hi, I’m Riddle Rosehearts,” the man holds a hand out for you to shake briefly.

“Nice to meet you,” you reply, the awkwardness of the situation making you sip at your vodka tonic just to keep yourself busy.

While Riddle turns back to a conversation with Cater, you shoot daggers at the latter that you hope conveys what a bad idea this turned out to be.

Needless to say, your first encounter with Riddle Rosehearts was anything but perfect. In fact, it felt so awkward that you decided to hide your face from his sight every chance you got.

But try as you might, it’s literally impossible for you to avoid the man when you’re working in the same department. The senior analyst (damn you, Cater) even has the two of you sitting next to each other.

On the bright side? It doesn’t seem like Riddle is a fan of small talk, so you don’t have to try too hard to avoid him.

In your work environment, Riddle is almost perfect.

He learns fast, and is always the first one to volunteer to take on new projects or suggest changes to make your jobs more efficient. But his relentless work ethic also causes him to work too many hours to the point that you wonder if he ever goes home and sleeps.

“Sevens— have your eye bags always been that bad?” Cater is the only one brave enough to bring the topic up to the younger man — and, predictably, Riddle looks unamused by the prodding.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. My eye bags are normal-sized,” Riddle says without taking his eyes off his computer screen.

“They’re the normal size for sleep deprived people,” Cater retorts with a roll of his eyes. When Riddle doesn’t reply, he decides to change targets and makes his way over to your cubicle. “Hi, y/n.”

“Hey. I haven’t seen you around in a while, Cater,” you hit “Save” on the spreadsheet you’ve been working on before turning your chair around to face said man. “Have you finally gotten tired of marketing?”

“Absolutely not! I am having the time of my life marketing away! Social media is my L-O-M-L,” Cater says in mock offense and a hand clutching his chest. “I just stopped by to say ‘hello’ to my dear friends in the Finance department.”

Riddle shoots Cater with a suspicious side eye. He’s not sure if his friend is acting strange because he’s interested in you or because he’s simply up to something else; years of friendship would tell Riddle that it’s the latter.

For who is Cater Diamond if he’s not trying to cause some sort of mischief for fun?

“I also have a favor to ask of you, y/n,” Cater smiles sheepishly as he leans down and lowers his voice to a whisper. “Could you make sure that Riddle leaves at a reasonable time today?”

Your eyebrows furrow in confusion at the man’s request, “why can’t you do that?”

“Because I’m not the one who has a little crush on him,” Cater sing-songs before taking a step back to avoid your attempts to swat him.

“I do not have a crush on him. I barely know the guy, and—and he’s your friend,” you hiss out, careful to keep your voice’s volume low.

“And I don’t believe you! So will you do me this favor?”

You take a moment before giving Cater an answer. Your eyes trail to Riddle’s hunched over frame, where the light from his computer screen illuminates his face, and you can see that Cater’s right about his eye bags.

You sigh in defeat before nodding, “fine, I’ll try. But you know that he’s very stubborn.”

“Yeah, I know. Good luckkk,” Cater shoots finger guns at you and turns in a rush to leave your cubicle before he gets yelled at by a superior for slacking off. “See ya!”

You silently wave goodbye to Cater’s retreating figure before your shoulders slump down and you turn back to your computer screen.

You spend the next few minutes typing away on your keyboard, your mind too focused on making sure that the data and numbers you were entering is correct, that you don’t even notice Riddle’s presence besides you.

He clears his throat and you guess that’s his way of making his presence known to people. It’s not the most polite method, unlike the way you’d assume he’d address most people.

Could it be that he’s just not particularly fond of you?

“Yes?” you ask without sparing the man a glance.

“I’ll go home when you do today. So don’t worry about asking me to leave.”

“What?” you look at Riddle in confusion, unsure if you’d heard the man correctly.

“You’re both terrible at whispering,” the man chuckles at the horrified expression appearing on your face. “But since Cater asked you for a favor, he must actually be concerned about me. So I’ll leave early today.”

“Um… just how much of that conversation did you hear?” you ask in a hushed voice, your feature twisting as if you’re in pain.

“That depends. What else did you talk about besides that and your ‘little crush’ on me?” The smile Riddle offers you is sweet, and you can tell by the dash of pink on his cheeks that he doesn’t mean to tease you maliciously.

“I’m going to dig a hole in my backyard to lay in after work,” you nod absentmindedly as you mumble to yourself and turn your chair back in place.

Riddle laughs to himself and leaves your cubicle to return to his own; the absence of his presence allows you to finally let out a breath you were holding in.

You try to focus on your work, but the mental image of the man smiling at you feels like it’s permanently stamped onto your brain. He didn’t even smile when you were first introduced, but now that you’ve seen it, you’re even more smitten.

The remainder of the day’s work hours tick by at a snail’s pace. Every time you think you’ve been working for at least an hour, the computer clock would say it’s only been 5 minutes.

By the time Cater announced that it was time to leave, you feel as if you’ve aged a good ten years.

“Thank goodness,” you sigh as you stretch your arms out above your head, the stiff muscles of your back protesting as you move.

“Are you ready to go?” a voice asks above your head, causing you to jolt in surprise. “Oh, I’m sorry.”

“Riddle? What are you doing here?” you ask when you turn your head to look at your unexpected visitor.

“I’m waiting for you to leave so I can leave too,” the man says his answer as if you should have known all along.

You laugh and stand up before collecting your messenger bag and slinging it across your chest, “you know you didn’t have to wait for me, right?”

“That’d be very rude of me,” Riddle waits until you appear to be ready to go before gesturing for you to walk ahead of him.

“No, it wouldn’t,” you laugh again and comply with the man’s wishes by making the first moves to leave your cubicle. “Well, maybe if we were friends, it’d be rude.”

“Aren’t we friends?”

Your eyes search Riddle’s face for any sign that would indicate he’s trying to pull your leg. But, as usual, Riddle is being serious.

“Would you consider me a friend?” you challenge once you’ve stepped inside an elevator and pressed the button to the building’s lobby.

“Sure. Any friend of Cater’s is a friend of mine’s,” Riddle says nonchalantly with a shrug.

“That didn’t sound convincing at all. If you want to be my friend, you’ll have to start doing things that friends would do.”

The elevator doors open with a loud ding and the two of you step out into the lobby to find that a light rainshower has begun to fall.

Riddle rummages through his backpack for the travel umbrella he keeps inside at all times for emergencies such as this. With the rose red bundle in hand, he’s about to exit the building when he realizes that you haven’t moved an inch since exiting the elevator.

“Y/n, I was serious: I’m not leaving until you do,” Riddle calls out for your attention, his arms crossed and his back pressed against the glass door of the entrance as you face him.

“The weather forecast didn’t say anything about rain today, so I didn’t bring an umbrella,” you confess as your ears begin to warm up from embarrassment.

“Do you walk home?”

“Yeah, I live nearby in those apartment complexes a couple blocks North from here.”

Riddle mentally pictures the nearby roads as you begin to explain them to him, using the landmarks you recognize to pinpoint where exactly your home would be before deciding that it shouldn’t be too long of a walk.

“C’mon, I’ll walk you home. Unless you prefer I wait here with you until this is over,” Riddle adds quickly before you could protest.

“No— let’s go home,” you smile gratefully as you quickly make your way over to him.

The man situates the umbrella above his head and waits for you to scurry over to his side before you start the short journey to your apartment building.

Your budding friendship with Riddle is almost perfect.

Despite your initial judgment, Riddle is actually someone who likes to smile and crack jokes a lot. He’s good at listening to your problems and giving advice when you ask for it — and on the same token, he knows exactly what to say to cheer you up when you’re upset.

The only problem with your friendship is that what started off as an infatuation with the man has turned to a full-blown crush.

“Hello, my precious friends!”

Oh, and also now Cater won’t leave the two of you alone during working hours.

“Cater… we literally just got here. How do you have so much energy already?” you groan as you pinch the bridge of your nose in an attempt to fight back an oncoming headache.

“Are you alright?” Riddle asks, the concern clear in his voice when he notices the pained look on your face.

“Yeah, I just haven’t had my coffee yet,” you offer Riddle as wide a smile as you could muster up in the moment. “Thanks for asking.”

“Of course,” Riddle smiles brightly at you before it quickly disappears when he turns his attention back to Cater. “Go. Shoo before I have your head. We’ll see you for lunch.”

“Sheesh, it’s been a while since you’ve said that. It’s still scary… G-2-G!”

With that, Cater scurries away towards his own department and leaves the two of you to wordlessly turn to your computers.

Every adult has their own daily routines, and somehow you’ve made yours around the two least likely friends you could have made.

You’re grateful for their presence though, and especially for Cater’s outgoing personality — no matter how annoying he could get sometimes — because you would have been too shy and awkward to reach out to anyone first.

Another plus? Work goes by so much faster when you have something to look forward to for lunch hours and after work hours.

None of you like to leave the building in search of better food than the menus served in the company’s cafeteria. So, at 1:00 P.M. sharp, you always meet up at the basement floor to debate what is and isn’t going to give you food poisoning.

The safest bet? An egg salad sandwich and a bag of chips.

“I don’t know why you subject yourself to this mediocre food, Riddle. You’re the only one out of the three of us who can actually cook,” you jokingly comment once you’ve found an empty table to sit at.

“He’s let you try his food before?” Cater asks with a raise of his eyebrow.

“No, but it always smelled good when he brought it in the past. Wait— is that weird to say? I’m sorry if it’s weird,” you grimace, but Riddle chuckles at your comment and shakes his head.

“It’s not weird, don’t worry. I just haven’t had enough time to cook in advance with all the extra hours I’ve been working.”

“You know that those hours are optional and you really should go home and get some sleep— right?”

“There’s no use in trying to convince him, y/n,” Cater cuts into the conversation with a cheeky grin. “But since Riddle’s too busy, I’ll spend time with you instead! We can learn how to cook together.”

You squint your eyes at the mischievous man and before you can stop yourself, you blurt out, “why would I want to do that?”

“Ouch,” Cater gasps dramatically as he falls back on his chair and clutches his chest.

“I didn’t mean it like that,” you say with a roll of your eyes.

“Could it be because…” Cater leans forward on the table clearly unphased and fake whispers, “you’re interested in someone else?”

You could practically see Riddle’s ears perk up at Cater’s words and you wave your hands frantically to dismiss the accusation.

“Wh— I’m not— I’m not interested in anyone,” you stammer out, hoping your burning cheeks don’t betray how flustered you are.

You miss the way Riddle’s face briefly falls in disappointment, but Cater doesn’t. It’s like that was the light switch that turned a light bulb on inside his head and he suddenly places his hands over yours.

“Then you can’t say no to going on a date with me!”

“Y—yes, I can,” you protest, but it comes out sounding more like a question.

You know that the man has no romantic interest in you, so you’re not sure where this request for a date came from. But with the determined look on his face and a familiar glint in his green orbs, you know that he’s up to some sort of mischief again.

“Fine, we can learn how to cook together. If that’s what you mean by ‘a date’,” you sigh and pull your hands away from Cater’s grasp.

“Great!” Cater exclaims and shoots Riddle an innocent smile, “we can do that after you walk Riddle home today.”

“Is it really necessary to appoint y/n as my chaperone?” Riddle finally speaks up with a hint of annoyance to his voice.

You’re caught off guard by the tone of his voice. You’ve never known Riddle to be someone who could get upset or annoyed easily, but you suppose you don’t know everything about him.

Besides, getting cranky is a side effect of being sleep deprived — or so Mr. Google would have you believe.

“I’ll walk you home, I don’t mind,” you meet Riddle’s tired eyes and smile softly. “And just like last time, I won’t take no for an answer so don’t even try it.”

“Okay, fine,” Riddle smiles half-heartedly and shoves the remnants of his egg salad sandwich back into its ziplock bag. “I’ll try to finish early so you won’t be late for your… date.”

You and Cater exchange glances, yours filled with confusion and his filled with smugness; looks like his hunch may be right after all.

After knowing the man for a decent amount of time, you still think that Riddle Rosehearts is almost perfect.

He’s a diligent worker and a wonderful friend, but you can never guess what’s on his mind — nor is he ever vocal about his feelings.

Well, you suppose that might be seen as a strength in some people’s eyes.

After lunch, you could tell that something was bugging Riddle. He didn’t spare you a glance for the rest of the day until it was time for you to go home — and even then, he barely spoke a word as you rode the elevator down to the lobby.

“It’s raining again,” Riddle comments while rummaging through his backpack. “But don’t worry, I… I have my umbrella? I can’t find it— what?”

He looks up when you poke at his shoulder and see a familiar rose red bundle in your hand. His eyes widen in surprise at the sight of his umbrella in your possession, “I don’t remember leaving that with you.”

“It’s not yours, actually,” you correct him with a gentle smile. “We just happen to have the same colored umbrella.”

“Small world. I must have left mine drying at home,” he readjusts his backpack, stepping aside to let you exit the building first and open your umbrella.

“That was over a week ago, Riddle.”

“Did I mention I have a bad memory?” you give Riddle a look of disbelief, knowing that no one with bad memory would be able to remember 810 rules and still remember them well after finishing school.

“I have a bad memory too, but apparently not as bad as yours,” you joke, poking the man at his side.

Riddle hums and stares at the sidewalk ahead, ears growing red from the feeling of your unwavering eyes on him. For a few minutes, you walk in silence, the only sound being the rain gently pattering on the nylon material of the umbrella.

Every now and then, Riddle would steal glances at you. It’s not the first time he’s done it. Even at work, he couldn’t help stealing glances at you.

He was never sure of what the reason for that could be — until he listened to you accept to go on a date with his friend.

Instead of being happy for the two of you, he felt jealous; jealous that Cater had the courage to ask you out and jealous that you accepted.

But did he have any right to feel jealous when he knew you were interested in him before — and he didn’t make a single move then?

Maybe he could change that now.

“Would… would your memory be bad enough to forget that you have a date with Cater tonight?” Riddle hesitantly asks, his voice almost too quiet for you to hear him over the rain.

“I don’t need a bad memory to forget about that. No offense to Cater. He’s great and all, but…” your voice trails off before you bite on your bottom lip to keep yourself from elaborating.

“But?”

“Oh, no, mister. You tell me why you’re bringing up Cater when we both know he was definitely just pulling my leg earlier.”

“Well,” Riddle breathes out, face beginning to turn the same shade of red as his hair, “he was definitely pulling mine too.”

“What do you mean?”

The two of you stop walking when you reach an all-way stop and Riddle turns to you with his lips pressed into a thin line. He appears to be deep in thought and you know better than to interrupt him in the middle of it.

“I think— no, I know. I like you,” Riddle blurts out before he could talk himself out of it.

“Like… as a friend?” you question and grip the strap of your bag tightly.

“No, as more than a friend. And I can’t believe Cater was the one that made me realize that,” Riddle laughs shortly.

“Oh, well, I—I like you too,” you can’t help but giggle nervously after your confession.

“So, that means it’s not too late for me to ask you out on a coffee date?”

“No, Riddle, it’s not too late,” You take a step towards the man and, after mustering up all the courage you have, lean in to place a soft kiss on his cheek. “I’d love to go on a coffee date with you.”

࿐ ex!mattheo . is so annoying. He wants you all to himself even though you two are broken up. Very immature, he feels like he’s entitled to your attention constantly and when it’s not on him 24/7 he’ll get very distant and act as if you’ve greatly wronged him. Comes crawling back every time. Big on not wanting a relationship but throws that all away when he sees you simply being you. Is completely and utterly in love with you and you both know it. Acts like an annoying best friend half the time but always seems to find himself drunkenly confessing how much he misses you.

stalker!mattheo… who places claim on you the moment he lays eyes on you. slowly falling deeper into his own madness and obsession as the days go on, vowing to never let you out of his grasp, even if you don’t even know that you’re in it yet.

"The world isn't ready to see who I would become if this-" his thumb pressed on her pounding pulse "— ever stops."

stalker!mattheo… who is violent beyond belief when it comes to you, willing to kill or hurt anyone who disrespects you in the slightest. keeping dark eyes on you at all moments of the day and night, in silent promises to keep you his own twisted version of “safe”…

“I want you to be mine. Selfishly, thoughtlessly, mine.”

stalker!mattheo… who would willingly do ungodly things for your eyes to grace him even for just a moment. basking in the glory that is your attention.

“I never craved attention, until i tasted yours.”

stalker!mattheo… who acts as calm as he possibly can when meeting you for the first time, flashing dashing smiles, and charming winks but giving away how twisted he truly is in his soul with how his eyes glimmer at you in such malicious ways that he doesn’t even realize himself.

“I can lose everything, but not you… Oh god, not you…”
