Jack was employed into service for the East India Trading Company and was given command of the Wicked Wench. However, after he set free a cargo of slaves, his employer, Cutler Beckett, had Jack branded as a pirate and the Wench set aflame and sunk. After failing to rescue the Wench, Sparrow struck a bargain with the ghostly captain of the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones, to resurrect his beloved vessel. Jones returned the ship to Jack in near perfect condition except for the permanently charred hull. This prompted Jack to rename her the Black Pearl.

PYRATES BEWARE // an instrumental playlist for piracy and sea voyages
when the king brands us, pirates, he doesn’t mean to make us adversaries. he doesn’t mean to make us criminals. he means to make us monsters.
i am not immune to making ocs that are the children of my fav characters. anyway this is jack sparrow's offspring. the only thing she hates more than pirates and deadbeat fathers is the british, so naturally she has to work together with her deadbeat pirate father to defeat the british

PotC but people have wings

Jack is a sparrow, Will is a tern (I think), Elizabeth is a swan, Norrington is an albatross, Davy Jones is a flying fish, Salazar is an eagle, and Beckett… dunno.

@opting-for-oblivion
Yeah… I was the wing anon… I didn’t have the energy to illustrate it back then.
still rooting for them
Tfw dead peeps tend to not stay dead
Disclaimer: I have no idea what I’m doing or where the plot (plot? what plot?) is going. I am literally making shit up as I go along.
Summary: James Norrington dies and gets better. Or more precisely his soul and consciousness get better via being tossed several years into the past. James has a long road ahead of him with many paths to choose. Can he write a better ending for his story? Or is he just going to fuck his life up again in new and varied ways?
Warnings: Major character death (but he gets better). Reckless child endangerment. Ridiculousness. Historical anachronisms for humourous effect. Possible OOCness. Profanity.
Many thanks to @hyperesthesias who patiently endured my mad ramblings regarding this nonsense.

His chest hurts. Every breath is agony. He is cold and it is getting dark.
Is this is what dying feels like?
James can’t say he particularly cares for it.

"norrington's one of my favs but the way some parts of his fandom act like his death is something that serves no point cuz it was tragic and senseless feels like a big woosh moment that makes me kind of embarrassed
like yeah its sad and unfair he dies welcome to at worlds end it is basically a tragedy anyway did you not see how the entire movie begins w sequences of senseless death and also pins its climax on senseless death that's the point it's why elizabeth's dad dying matters so much and esp why it matters that norrington didn't change sides until it started hurting people close to him and why he himself says he's not absolved from his other sins the ravages of capitalism doesn't give a shit about you and letting it chew the world up means you will eventually get caught in its teeth too thats the entire point of the story
its supposed to be sad and make you think about the consequences of being complicit in a messed up system the tragedy isn't that he died it's that he ever thought it was worth it to betray everyone and join beckett in the first place"
There are some characters where giving them therapy and cleaning them up is the fanfiction equivalent of buying antique furniture and painting it white
bad
"I really want to know what Teague was like as a parent for Jack to be like that…"
"I do not think James Norrington knows where the clit is, but he sure as hell thinks he does. And you might say "Oh, that's because it's the 1720s no one knew where or what the clit was" and like first off WRONG and second off, you don't get it. It's important for James, as a character, to not know where the clit is, and it's also important that he thinks that he knows. All versions of James Norrington be they modern or not are fundamentally unaware of the clit. My supreme hot take is that James Norrington does not dabble in orgasms -- only in disappointment; It is his fatal flaw, and only tragedy awaits him."
this has been sitting in my capcut drafts for months i'm tired of looking at it begone foul thing etc
my thing with jack is like I do find him tragic just not on the surface level I don't think people finding him generally distasteful disliking him and throwing him to eldritch beings to save their own skin is sad I think it's funni I laugh when these things happen to him. the tragedy of jack is that he's become such a piece of shit throughout his long sordid life that he Does deserve every bad thing that comes his way. like the tragic character isn't present day jack sparrow the tragic character is the misty lady's cabin boy who maybe could have been dealt just a slightly better hand by life. I'm not sad because he's being killed and eaten I'm sad because if he had been just a smidge more well adjusted or if one of the several formative incidents hadn't happened I'd feel worse for him when everything we see happen on screen happens to him. you know. this evil bug creature makes me mentally unwell I fear
