Doof: "You see Perry The Platypus, about a few weeks ago I entered The Tumblr Sexyman Showdown. It's a contest for only the sexiest of men-- now now, Perry the Platypus, before you roll your eyes at me, it's not the conventional kind of sexy, no, no! It's the pathetic, the silly, the unconventional! Only for the acquired tastes. Like me~!! So I joined in, and you wouldn't believe it! I plowed through the competition! Bracket after bracket, I dominated the votes. That is, until the final round... when I was put up against Stanley Pines of someplace called 'Gravity Falls'-- for some reason, even though he claimed to come from a place called Gravity Falls and I come from the Tri-State Area, the competition listed me to come from someplace called 'Phineas and Ferb', and I have no idea where that is or who those people are--I was kicked to the curb! He won by a landslide! Well, not literally though, that's a metaphor--that's how Bill Cipher won against Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians, and I KNOW that place doesn't exist--b-but anyway, Stanley won and I only got second. And it doesn't make any sense! Sure, Stanley is similar to what the true Sexyman is, but he's not the greatest! For one thing, he's not that pathetic--jeez, if anyone is the most pathetic here, it's me! He's not that tragic-backstory-able, or anything, he--and worse yet, he's HOT! I mean, he's not that much of an acquired taste! Sure, he's older, but that's it!! Clearly, the people are biased! Which is why I made...THIS!"

Doof: "BEHOLD! THE UNHANDSOME-INATOR!!!!"

Doof: "With this, I can make anyone ugly--so ugly that their ugliness is JUUUST too ugly to be a Tumblr Sexyman! But too handsome to be truly ugly...and I can also tweak it to make myself just a little more handsome, hehe! With this, I will make the ENTIRE TRI-STATE AREA Sexyman ugly, and shoot myself so I will be the most acquired-taste-handsome out of all of them, winning the love of all of the TRI-STATE AREA, AND ENACTING MY REVENGE AGAINST THE TUMBLR SEXYMAN CONTEST!!!"

Doof: "--Or wait, come to think of it, this isn't really revenge, I mean, the contest's over and it won't come back until next year so this scheme prooobably should've been postponed until then... not to mention this inator isn't exactly that tweaked, it's a rushed job has some...ahaha...side effects...unless I CRANK UP THE RANGE OF THE INATOR!"

Doof: "Yes, Perry The Platypus, I will become the most tumblr-sexyman handsome by proxy in all of the tri-state area AND GRAVITY FALLS, OREGON!!!"

| Meanwhile In Gravity Falls |

*Stan, reading the paper, suddenly looks up.*

Stan: "Something just happened."

*beat*

Stan: "...Eh. Who cares. Worse has happened in this town. It's probably the heebie jeebies from that German guy from a couple days ago, eugh."

Stan: "Worth it for the prize money, though. I'm still the sexiest man on all of Tumblr! Ahaha!"

*beat*

Stan, still grinning: "...whatever that is."

*A beat. Then the door to the Mystery Shack slams open. It's Ford.*

Ford: "Stanley! I'm back!"

Stanley: "Hey, sixer. Back from another one of your little adventures?"

Ford: "I suppose you could call it that! Ever been to the tri-state area? There are hundreds of anomalies there! Did you know that all the platypuses are teal there?"

Stanley: "Yeah, yeah...well, make sure to tell me later. I'm reading the paper."

Ford: "Well, don't get too absorbed. We're going to Italy tomorrow, remember? We're visiting the Vatican! Lots of great things to explore there! We might even see the pope!"

Wait...it’s for kids, they can’t do that...

I just hope now that Dan knows platypuses glow under UV light, that we get to see that

I had this idea about Phineas and Ferb:

Perry pays the bills and taxes, but one month he gets so caught up in work that he temporarily forgets.

The parents both thought that the other was paying all the bills, so then they’re like “wait…if IM not paying the bills, and YOURE not paying the bills…who is??”

And then the family finds Perry paying the bills and stuff, but he goes platypus mode and so he’s just like “krrrgrggg” and instead of going “WTF how is Perry paying the bills??” The family is just like

“awww! Thanks Perry, you’re such a good platypus!! Good boy, Perry!” 🥰🥰

So then if there’s a court case over the house and the judge is like “okay who pays the bills?” Both the parents sigh before going “bring him in, boys”

and Phineas & Ferb walk in holding Perry and the whole court’s like “what???”

And then they show a video of Perry paying the pills & Taxes and the courts like:

“YOU ARENT EVEN QUESTIONING WHY YOUR PET PLATYPUS IS PAYING THE BILLS??? WHERE DOES HE GET THE MONEY??” And the whole family just shrugs and is like “we were worried that if we questioned him he might think he’s not supposed to do that, so we just gave him some yummy treats and called him a good boy :]”

Ok I know the world is going to hell and all but I just wanted to share that I saw a cloud that looked like Perry the platypus today

Thoughts on this:

Carpe diem = sieze the day

Carpals/ metacarpals = bones in the hand

"Carpe diem" and "carpals" have a similar root.

"Carpe" is presumably "to sieze" and you use the hand, and consequently the bones in the hand, to grab something.

Grab = sieze

Therefore, the carpals are used to Carpe diem.

It's still kinda wild how Phineas and Ferb managed to completely hijack an idiom. Now whenever someone hears a sentence leading with "If I had a nickel for everytime [...]", odds are their brain auto fills with "I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice," rather than "I'd be rich," or "I could [action that requires purchasing something requiring an obscene amount of money]". Y'know, what the idiom originally was

Been very into Phineas and Ferb recently for reasons that are too complicated to explain, here’s a random screenshot redraw:

theres something that seriously bothers me about linda from phineas and ferb. i know her not believing candace was the joke, but something felt really weird about it??? candace would tell her insane shit and linda would just think she was lying i guess, or just imagining it. but if she was imagining it, wouldnt that be crazy alarming? if you saw your daughter EVERYDAY telling you that she saw her little brothers build a giant rollercoaster in the backyard or split her into two versions of herself or take her to literal space, youre telling me you wouldn't be worried for her? i would be!! and reasonably so!! lindas just like "my daughters a little crazy" YOUR DAUGHTER IS SEEING SHIT THAT ISNT THERE. Ahhhh I thought I posted this but nooooo it was deleted.

Anyway.

I love Phineas and Ferb

And I like to draw.

I redrew the Phineas and Ferb gang a bit older and in more modern styles.

So let’s see shall we?

First up we have Phineas!

(Who is totally a trans guy)

I feel like Phineas definitely had some form of attention deficit disorder so I gave him a fidget toy, although I suppose he would probably make his own little gadgets to fidget.

I kept his design pretty much the same as his original but tried to give him a bit of a TikTok boi vibe with the puffy jacket over his pretty standard summer look.

I really wasn’t planning to give him the triangle head and just give him angular features but my friend insisted he wasn’t Phineas without the triangle head, sooooo.

And I gave the boy a butt load of freckles because that’s what he gets for those king summers.

Up next we have my personal favorite, Ferb!

First of, Ferb is definitely non binary he/they aro spec ace. I don’t make the rules. I just head canon.

Anyways..

Ferbs design is pretty much the same just with a bit of a more e-boy vibe.

Exchange the purple high-waisted pants for black high-waisted skinny jeans, and a purple sweater over his white button down.

And the iconic ace ring.

And dyed purple hair because we know Ferb would have that phase.

Also lots of piercings that he probably let Phineas give him and the freaking skater boi vanns.

AYYEEE PRETTY LADY, Isabella!

Preppy fighter girl vibez with this one!

Isabella definitely is an upstanding student but absolutely no one would mess with her.

Again kept her style pretty similar with some more modern touches, changing her overall dress look to a skirt with suspenders and a white king sleeve blouse instead of her original t shirt.

I darkened her skin tone because I just feel it suits her better and put her hair up in pig tails since she’s a very active person and would probably want it out of her face, similar to the braid we see in act your age.

The gloves are mostly fan service to me along with her being a BA.

You know she’d beat the living shit out of anyone who even tried to hurt her friends.

The nerdy babe is up next, Baljeet!

He basically got a similar revamp to Isabella, overalls being replaced with pants and suspenders and long sleeve instead of t shirt.

I gave him the whale dress socks as both a reference to the whalemingos (that his boyfriend won’t shut up about) and as a reference to my irl friend who wears funky socks all the time.

I gave him those cute little glasses because I can see him wearing them as reading glasses and that’s his justification because why else would someone wear glasses that small they are simply illogical-

And the bling.

Pocket watch is a reference to my other friend... and the necklace was just a nice touch.

The man, the myth, the bully! BUFORD!

Ok so act your age did my mans so dirty.

Let Buford be thicc.

I get the long hair, I can see it but also,

MAN BUN.

Otherwise I think Bufords style probably wouldn’t change that much, he’s got that grungey vibe , so I kept his shirt and turned his cargo shorts to pants.

I added the letterman jacket because he probably joined football but I added some patches I think he’d have, like the theater patch as an allusion to his directing passion, the drums from the Baljeetles, and a feminist patch because this man chugs that respect women juice.

And the ace ring because you can fight me on the fact that Buford is a gray ace.

Finally we have the queen of Mars, Candace!

Ok so Candace is definitely a trans girl (future post coming about that)

I can totally see Candace being a harujuku girl, 100% inspired by her obsession with ducky momo, who is on her tank top.

I kept the elements from her initial design like her red sweater, but I lengthens the sleeves and for her skirt I changed the white accents to a trim rather than her belt.

I also added a bunch of references to her personal tirades and just the show in general

For example, Chicago joe and Mary in her hair accessories and the hair wrap around her bun being zebra print, the skull pin from when Buford worked for her for a day and all the references on her shoes.

Anyway...
