' you’re being followed , pretend you know me . '
The sudden words and presence of another caught her off guard almost completely but, if there was one thing she was good at it was acting. Well other than singing it was absolutely acting, absolutely no one knew about her dipping into Zaun for the competitions so she could totally do this no problem!
In only a moment her arms wrapped around him tightly, a complete stranger which was probably a terrible idea but she had this feeling that she could trust him. A smile as she looped their arms together and steered the both of them toward a busier street closer to Piltover.
❝I missed you! It's been forever, I hope that you liked all the letters dad and I sent. You know he still can't get over all those stories you told us about traveling last time. Who knew about all the things you could inspire!?❞
She had no idea what she was even babbling about. Her head leaning to rest on his shoulder. Her own mind wondering as she gently turned her hearing aids to a different frequency to try and pin point not only how the man around her was feeling and the intentions of whoever was following them.
Faux smile and twinkle in her eyes as she still rambled on about their intwined childhoods, the letters and anything in-between, as if the pair were from some sort of novel. Eventually her head tilted softly and gave herself the opportunity to inquire to not only who her mysterious hero was but why he was helping her.
❝You think he's buying it? Also at a certain point I am gonna need to know your name because I am running out of ideas for fake nicknames.❞
@futureforged asked:
i'm just checking on you.
As he speaks for a moment there is silence a gentle shrug of her shoulders and then her head went back down on her desk. A lot had changed in a singular day. In a matter of seconds she went from being present and hoping to unite both cities and the next her dad was in her arms and she heard his music fade, his rhythm, his soul.
❝I should have known, I should have kept my hearing aids off. There is so much tension between us now, and even the underground contests are getting more intense.❞
There is a guilt, her mother having left them and her being well his whole world with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Glass ceilings she supposed or whatever the actual saying was. A small frown as she buried her head into her arms. Between Caitlyn's loss and everything that had been going on for Jayce, she had hoped this didn't burden him. But, she should have known better.
After several moments of silence she stood up, her self pity and loathing aside for her own loss. People in Zaun lost more daily, and people in Piltover like her father always got proper burials, now was not a time to feel guilt or sadness. If anything her dad would want her to power through so she had to.
❝I'll be ok. What matters right now is making sure Ambessa doesn't see this as a way to weaponize Hextech or a movement to suppress Zaun even more than she already has. They are just hurting.❞
She hesitates for a moment and then look at him as she stands up. A look of determination on her features despite the somber expression hidden away behind her eyes. Although, if anyone could tell she was hurting it would be him.
❝Plus, you just got hurt I am not the one who should be worrying you, in fact our roles should totally be reversed. Between this and Viktor I should be the one making you tea, Jayce.❞
@officrnolen asked: let me take a look at your injury.
There is a soft nod of her head as she sits down on the little make shift medical area. This whole event had been--- she should have warned them. Said something when she was preparing. She heard them, the unstoppable rhythm and beat of revenge, self proclaimed justice and pain. But she didn't she thought it was just--- it didn't matter.
As Maddie looked at her she lifted her arm up. An abrasion from her guitar and some cuts from the strings when it snapped. Her concern lay more with those Ambessa has well... yeah. And Jayce, oh god. Everyone had gotten hurt and she got pushed away to the back. The only thing she could do was use her music to heal which seemed to not do much but keep Caitlyn in a singular piece. That was good though, but those poor Zaunites, and the people from Piltover, this had just gotten so messy. A small hiss in pain as antiseptic was used on her arm and she looked down.
❝Do you guys have any leads on what happened? I am sure if we could have talked to them, things would have been less.... well this.❞
@girlcyclone asked: it's not as bad as it looks.
Her head turns, hat taken off and guitar set down as she crossed her arms. She still didn't understand how Jinx could act as if NOT HAVING A FINGER WAS NOTHING!!! It made no sense, maybe it was for the cutie pie Isha but, whatever it was, it was a big deal.
That is why she brought her mini fix-it kit that Jayce had helped her put together. It was in case of guitar emergencies but, this seemed as good a time as any to use it!
❝Sevika told me, it took so long to get down here because of what happened. Jayce--- it doesn't matter but let me help you fix it please! Wherever you and Isha are hiding.❞
@forzaun asked: the music had drawn her in, like a little moth. after a concert, they'd begun climbing in and around the equipment set up for the performance, eventually sneaking their way backstage. scampering between rooms, isha's steps are slowed when she sees the pink hair of the performer herself. a shout is called somewhere from where isha came from, prompting her to dart into the room and hide from the doorway.
There was a beat, one from someone in the audience she couldn't get out of her head. After the performance her head was already building the rythm into her own world. The second she is back in her dressing room, or at least the space they labeled as that her hands start plucking at her guitar.
❝Taught me how to stand on my own. Mhm-- now lost on that road alone.❞
The sound of the shout causing her to stop for a moment head lifting just as she saw something--- no someone in her space. A small raise of her eyebrow as she went back to pluck the strings of her guitar. As she strummed she took her hearing aids out and kept going.
A moment of hesitation as the sounds of everyone erupted into her ears. An error on the guitar chords didn't help but a moment to remember her father's words & Jayce's to focus herself and her abilities and she found it. The person, no-- this was a child who slipped in. She slowly stood, still strumming the melody and shifting it to match the rhythm that matched this child's soul.
Her hand lifted and pushed aside her costume rack to see the young one. A warm smile as she knelt down and set her guitar to the side.
❝Did those big guys scare you? Sometimes they get me too but, they are all nice. I can hear it in their hearts. They just don't know how to express it. You guys sure do have a lot of stuff to balance down here don't you.❞
@goldenfists asked: now that's something you don't see every day.
A bright smile at the words, proudly her guitar was held up, all the signatures scattered across it, her dad & Jayce's at the very top just in case it broke.... again. There was pride, a labor of love from a lot of early concepts to now after a year or so being undefeated in the Band Brawls!
❝That's cause it's hand made! Pretty cool right? It's gotten me the title of Band Brawl Queen. This part though---❞
Her hand moves and pops out a compartment to show the small hextech crystal housed inside. Her free hand however reached up to push back her hair slightly adjusting her hearing aids as she did so. Tiny, almost unnoticeable, the easiest way to tell a person's intentions hear their souls.
That aside, it doesn't stop the joy and excitement that radiated from her person as she explained her gear, her passion. That being said, she could already tell despite his demeanor, his soul was good, passionate and something else she couldn't put her finger on.
❝It took a lot of trial and error but that's also how I could do what I did! Pretty cool right? You guys probably have different types of Brawls around here though huh? Not like Zaun, that's for sure. Well kind of like Zaun, we had those too but this place seems bigger.❞
@futureforged asked:
❛ read . silently read a book alongside my muse . ( consider… him helping her with repairs or them looking over new upgrades / designs! )
She doesn't really remember everything that happened but, needless to say when she goes to Zaun it usually goes REALLY REALLY good or things take a fast left turn. Her guitar completely split, so many small pieces missing. It had to be redone. It was nice though to have an excuse to pick his brain more, to learn more about Hextech and her own equipment .
To be honest, if music hadn't been her passion she surely would have taken up something like what Jayce had. And if she was being really really honest, she liked learning from him. Her father, he knew a lot but the smaller things, the ones to actually help, Jayce was the only one she knew that could not only explain it but show her and be just as excited about it!
❝Ok, I think design wise this looks AMAZING, capital AMAZING, but I am still lost on how this works better then before?❞
A gentle placement of her book on the table as she moved her chair to look over at his notebook instead. A fascinating design, with a lot of different notes that she couldn't make out completely but it looked decently set up. Plus it kept the heart of what she had been taking from her song battles in Zaun, which was something she really appreciated.
❝Oh and uhm-- sorry, about breaking this again, and worse this time. Who knew how intense these music competitions could be some people really are a little wild. But if you could hear what I can--- their hearts, their souls you would understand! It's like nothing else!❞
@officerizzler asked: ❛ door . hold a door open for my muse .
𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃 & 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 | accepting !!
Hand lifted to ears fidgeting with the volume buttons. Something had been off, it wasn’t quite like normal and she was hoping that Caitlin could help her get in touch. He seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth and it was getting really frustrating. Then again, she had been spending more time in Zaun, maybe it was just a lingering soul from there but still.
She honestly hadn’t even noticed the door but within a moment an adorable red head, whom she think she recalled the name of being Maddie had grabbed the door saving her from a collision.
❝Oh my god! My literal hero! I was so occupied with my own brain and issues I would’ve walked into that.❞
A warm smile as she stepped inside and motioned for the other to join her as she passed. If she was anything it was kind and in this moment she knew she had to repay the kindness that Maddie had shown her.
❝Tell you what, after I talk to Commander Kiramman would you mind joining me for lunch as the hero who saved the Piltover Star I feel like I owe you haha!❞
@essencefluxed asked:
“you only feel it when it's lost.”
↪ ⋆ ✧・゚: *✧・゚ He had a point when something left you forever that is the the moment you felt it most. That was the type of shock she felt the first time she put on her hearing aids, what silence was like, grateful she could still her the souls of everyone when she wanted. But, it also had another weight, when she made her deal to endorse hextech she didn't realize the implications it would have on Zaun, to feel like she lost the core of supporting Zaunites as a base her music. It was emptying, it almost killed her passion.
A look down at her drink before taking a sip. Even if she did have that lost it didn't take long to find it again! The competitions in Zaun were to die for and she had so much more passion. Loss just fueled you to find a way to get through are ignite a passion again.
❝You are right but, what is that feeling if not your love and passion prevailing and motivating you to find something new to be inspired by? That's the best thing about both Piltover and Zaun no matter how you feel there is always something exciting just around the corner! ❞
@futureforged asked:
' i should put it all behind me, shouldn't i? '
↪ ⋆ ✧・゚: *✧・゚ At his words her head lifts from her guitar, several strings sticking up and out as she was restringing it. Concern quickly painted over her face as she shifted her chair and lifted her hands. Gentle fingers pressed up a few times on the volume of her hearing aids. Her eyes closed and her focus remained on what she heard.
It took a few moments, despite how close they were for her to be able to fully focus on his soul, what he wanted, who he was but it remained the same as the day they met. Full of hope to do something good, passion for what he worked on, the soft strangeness of whatever pushed him to begin this at first. The defeat was only a bridge in the overall song she heard from him. That was all, just a hardship.
❝Not at all. I can hear it, whatever this is will pass. The passion you have always pushes past everything else in your soul. And your skills. ❞
A smile of determination and more importantly one of belief and encouragement. She was smart, she totally got that from her dad who was the only reason she knew about this project but more importantly she was optimistic. Both of them would change Piltover forever, sometimes that took more than someone like Viktor behind you. Maybe even a fresh pair of eyes from the outside! Her hand lifted and turned her hearing aids back up to block everything out again before setting her guitar down and shuffling over.
❝We are gonna change the world with your hextech and my music. Now move! Let me see what you are stuck on! Maybe something will speak to me and I can help you out with something for once. ❞
