Like of course he meant it as don't let my death change who you are but... the possibility of by him saying this it caused merlin to accidentally make himself immortal.? Idk tell me what yall think.
now im thinking about an au where kay/o has a horrible terrible no good bad day because for some mysterious plot reason he gets blasted with a ✨become a human✨ ray and he's like.
what.
you turned me into a human.
and whoever was responsible for it is like,,,, ahaha,,, uh,,,,
(they do not mention how his heart and blood glow very faintly)
so he's like 'how am i supposed to use my gear now' and makes a throwing knife motion, and the zero/point knife appears and thunks solidly into the floor and suppresses everyone in the room and he stares at it for a solid 20 seconds, and then he's like

anyway he has a small crisis and at some point considers engaging his destroyed-body backup routine to restore the last saved backup of... himself? kay/o? before... this. happened. and destroying the... biological form. because it's not meant to be like that. it's not right. it's not. he can't be.
he doesn't end up doing it but he does spend a lot of time looking very forlorn and lost
more excitingly, he gets to experience scent and taste for the first time EVER because he didn't have any form of olfactory sensors as a robot. he tries everyone's comfort foods. he learns to cook while he can scent things. he hangs out in the garden for a while. he has fancy tea and coffee and hot chocolate.
he pets the fluffy blankets the other agents swear by just to see what they're all on about. he does some exercise and is rather perplexed yet unsurprised by how his legs burn when he runs his usual distance. he burns his hands a few times because he forgets he isn't immune to temperatures. he spends really long in the shower wondering why it feels especially soothing, when it's just warm water.
there is a short discussion with reyna about whether killing him and, if possible, repeating the humanizing process would create a soul. they do not explore this. he does not want to die.
neon gets to be the bigger friend for once (not literally he is still as tall as ever) and help him acclimatize to the whole human thing while killjoy is making a reversal solution, and probably struggling a bit because 10/10 'become a human' is definitely some whackadoodle borderline magic thing
he has a very awkward talk with sova, who he trusts to tell him awkward things
omen pushes a huge sweater into his hands that he'd been working on for a while but never really had the opportunity to give. this is nice, as he'd been going around in some of brim's bigger wardrobe pieces like flimsy crop tops. he also gives him a plushie. he's very confused by this but appreciates it, and absolutely cannot stop petting it absentmindedly if he's got it nearby.
people are cowards about fantasy settings and not including some things in em. I get the aversion to not wanting too modern of tech, however dwarves would invent and fucking love metal folding chairs

Okay honestly I am fascinated by this line and I feel like it doesn’t get touched on much in fanon. The implication here (”lies came between them”) seems to be that whatever friendship Maedhros and Fingon had was already deteriorated to some degree by the time of the Flight of the Noldor, that they had begun to mistrust and be in opposition to each other which in a way, makes Maedhros’ apparent betrayal in Alqualonde/Losgar worse for Fingon–it may feel like the nail in the coffin to a friendship that was already on ice. It also makes it potentially more powerful for Maedhros that Fingon comes for him anyway, in spite of everything that had broken between them.
It also sets up a more awkward dynamic going forward in Beleriand. These are not necessarily two bosom friends reunited after a single misunderstanding. Clearly this relationship had issues before the Exile and while Fingon’s rescue of Maedhros was a grand gesture (although far from lacking in political considerations) recovering trust from someone you’ve lost it with is not easy, especially if they don’t yet realize the hand Melkor played in what went down in Aman.
It would also be fascinating to examine a more contentious and possibly even competitive dynamic between Fingon and Maedhros in Tirion, as their friendship goes downhill and they begin to mistrust each other as Melkor works the knife in between Feanor and Fingolfin. Which makes Fingon’s kingship in Beleriand even more interesting, particularly in light of the fact that by the Maedhros Rule (rule by the oldest/most experienced of the royal family), he could make a second bid for the crown, and Fingon has to be aware of that.
There just seems to be a lot of room for exploring a more complicated friendship between these two and how that affects them going forward.
Why did Galadriel make her star glass?

Three ages of the world later she is moved to capture the echo of the Silmaril that sails the void in a glass vial. Despite all the horror that her family capturing light in artifacts has historically caused.
Just in case.
And then faced with the days growing darker, she faces the same choice her uncle did with his creations: hold on to paranoia, and keep it close. Or give it away, that it might go where it can do the most good.
And she chooses to let it go.
OR
Exile to middle earth wasn’t a problem, until her daughter needed to go to Valinor to heal. Now, she needs a way to get to Valinor when the Valar have not forgiven her.
Because she WILL see her daughter again.
She only knows of one thing that has gotten a ship to Valinor when it was fenced from the Noldor- A Silmaril, carried by Earendil. And so she sets about capturing the light of Earendil, that one day she might trade it for entrance and keep her pride.
But, turns out, the Valar sent a different test.
