A Late Spring

how can knowing someone be so destructive yet so vehement at the same time? natasha knows it too much when you and her share a moment of vulnerability in the wake of your affair

warnings: bestfriend’s mom!natasha x younger!reader (age is not specified but 18+), age gap, established relationship, and no smut yet

“Bella?”

Your voice was meek and was barely a whisper but within the silence of the room, it was loud enough for the redhead to whip her head back from where she was hanging out from the window.

She looks at you wide eyed, almost perplexed but certainly guilty that you caught her sneaking out from a sleepover that she was hosting.

“Where are you going at this hour?” You didn’t check the time but you knew that it was late. You had slept way past into the night to know it.

Her eyes travelled from you to the phone she was holding. It didn’t dawn on you that she was most likely sneaking out to meet some boy, one certain blonde that was none other than Steve Roger’s son.

Almost sheepishly, she turned to you apologetically.

“Grant asked to meet up,” she tells you. “I’m gonna be out for a while. Don’t stay up for me.” She turns to leave without letting you speak but then turns right away as if she’s forgotten one last note. “Also, don’t tell my mom, yeah? You scratch my back and I scratch yours?”

She’s gone within a blink of an eye and you’re there left to wallow on her carpeted floor.

It’s only when you peel yourself from the ground and stretch that you realize it’s 6 in the morning. You’ve barely gotten some sleep and despite it being the weekend, you still feel like you need some sort of long awaited beauty sleep to make up for the long week you’ve had.

But as hard as you try, sleep doesn’t come easy for someone like you and as you pad your way out of Bella’s room you decide that a small meal will suffice.

You’ve spent enough time in the Romanoff household to know that Bella’s mom always keeps the kitchen stocked. No matter the time of the day.

As you arrive downstairs, you're met with the sight of the older redhead on the tip of her toes as she reaches for something above the fridge — inevitably raising the shorts she was sporting and flashing you a glimpse of her…

“Well, you’re up early,” her voice forces you back to the land of the living and for a moment, you forget that it’s merely you and her. “Can’t sleep?”

You smile lazily and sit across her from the kitchen island. “Something like that, yeah.”

She watches you with a smile, her hands busy as she slices kale and cucumbers for her morning smoothie.

But the smile turns into what almost looks like a frown, reading you and your silence and it throws you off.

“Is it Bella?” She asks. “She sneak out again?”

You stay silent; scratching Bella’s back. But the redhead has enough experience on her belt to read you through and through.

“It’s alright,” she tells you. “She doesn’t know it but I have cameras around. I see her running back home with Roger’s son ‘round seven in the morning.”

You play with the string of your shorts. “And you’re not worried?”

She shrugs. “It’s Grant,” she tells you like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

You haven’t been friends with the Rogers for long but the Romanoffs have. You have no doubt for the trust that Natasha has for Steve. They’ve been friends far longer than you’ve been alive and that alone makes you nod to her one word answer.

“The question is,” she starts. Her eyes never leave the cutting board and neither does the cutting. “Why do you put up with Bella? Not that I don’t appreciate you keeping my daughter in place but you know?”

You nod as if you understand.

You’ve always liked Bella. She had been your very first friend the moment your family moved here a few years ago and while you had the biggest crush on her for a while, it dissipated into nothing more than an infatuation that you got over.

But as time grew, so did your interests.

Much to her mother’s playful demise, Bella was straight as she can be. The boys she hung out with, the ones she dated, all were eccentric, different in their own ways but same throughout the end.

You didn’t mind Bella having fun, it just meant more time for you to spend with her mother on days like these where you and the redhead sought out each other’s presence

So you shrug at the question. Having absolutely no true answer because it’s just the way it is.

Bella goes out and you go down to her kitchen.

You sit there across from her with a soft smile, eyes slightly swollen from sleep but nevertheless still wide awake at the sight of the older woman in front of you.

Though Natasha can read you and cocks her head from where she stands. The cutting stops for the first time and she frowns slightly.

“You’re so tired,” she observes.

You shake your head in denial. “I’m alright.”

“Alright?” She repeats, unconvinced as she cocks a brow. “I haven’t seen you this tired since the last time we fucked, sweetheart.”

Your skin blooms with heat at the word fuck. Your minds wonders how someone so sensual, so put together, have so much vigour in saying the word fuck.

It makes you duck your head in embarrassment at the reminder of your affair with the woman. It hadn’t been the first time and it certainly won’t be the last.

Natasha has skills and as much as you hated to admit it, you were addicted to her. To her touch, to her taste, and everything in between that she could do to you.

She was relentless and endless at the same time.

She laughs at your reaction. “What? I’m just saying.”

You shake your head but don’t respond. Your throat feels too tight to speak and your skin too warm to move. The effect that she has on you has always left you in shambles, especially knowing that you’d be leaving her in a few months for school.

It hurts more to admit it but even Natasha knows that this timid affair has an expiration date. She just has a better composure than you do. After all with her experience, you’re sure you’re just another one of the girls she’s had in her life.

Your heart squeezes at the thought but you force the fear down and remind yourself two months is still a long time.

However you must’ve pinched your brows or pursed your lip because when you look up and find Natasha staring at you, she’s got a slight twitch of a frown to her lips.

“You okay?”

You shrug, unable to tear your face away from her look. Neither can she but her gaze grows and there's almost an understanding of what she’s asking.

She voices it regardless, communicating to understand what’s there between the two of you is what you want.

“C’mere,” she asks of you. Your body moves on its own and with a blink of an eye, you’re met with the sight of the older woman over you.

Natasha is a good four inch taller than you and the sight of her stature towering over you makes you feel so small and weak that it reaches your stomach.

You wiggle your toes in effort to release the tension that you feel but Natasha sees through it and dances her knuckles against your cheek.

It’s soft and gentle and affirming. And it makes your body melt against her own, with your head in the crook of her neck and shoulder and arms slipping around her toned body.

You feel every muscle contract beneath her shirt and under your pyjamas. Some other time where you weren’t so tired you would’ve felt warm and all of the other emotions but right now, all you feel is her and how soft she feels against you.

She smells good too. Almost like a sweet musky scent that’s just so Natasha and it just makes sense.

She doesn’t ask if you’re okay because she knows you all too well. There’s no awkward silence, no awkward small talk between moments, it’s only her.

But within a few inking seconds, you tell her something that’s been bothering you weeks into the start of your affair.

“I don’t want to leave,” you admit. It’s the first time you’ve expressed the imminent future for the two of you; you’re moving for school, Yale’s not far but it’s not any closer to where Natasha is either.

Conflict had risen inside of you when you had started your affair with the woman just as the same time you had gotten your acceptance letter to Yale.

You had worked your ass off to get into Yale but knowing that you had her, someone that you felt like had understood you all too well, leaving made it all much harder.

“I know,” she tells you, not an ounce of effort in forcing you to stay because she knows. Natasha is a mom, one to your closest friends and she knows that despite whatever happened between the two of you, this affair is not worth declining a prestigious educational opportunity.

But instead Natasha offers some insight. A slight glimpse of that hope she has in her because however much she hates to admit that she’s having a relationship with someone younger , she feels much more solemn in knowing that a joy in her life is departing.

“But we’ll be okay,” she says. “Visit every reading week or whatever holiday you’ve got, yeah?”

You nod to her suggestion and she lifts your face from her chest to face her. She’s got a pinch to her brow that makes her look tense but you know she’s anything from that.

“Reading week, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter. Whatever holiday, okay?”

“Okay.”

“Yeah?”

You smile at her softly.

Natasha smiles back.

You think for a moment that she might’ve assumed that you were going to deny her. But you were going to do anything but that. As much as your relationship with her is odd, she was everything to you and you didn’t know what you would do.

You melt at the sight and let her press a whisper of a kiss against your lips and then to the tip of your nose. You smell the hint of mint on her tongue and you sigh against the gesture.

You part your mouth to speak but you’re cut off when you hear the door upstairs mix amongst the steps that echo down the stairs.

Bella’s back and she must’ve assumed that you were already awake and down with her mother.

After all she knew of Natasha’s schedule just as you knew hers.

You pull away within hearing the steps and return back to your seat as if nothing’s amiss. When Bella reaches where you sit across from her mother, you return a lazy smile, feigning sleep.

“Morning!” She beams. She’s too perky for someone who’s just ‘woken’ up at 7:30 in the morning.

However her mother is not as dumb as she would’ve thought. Natasha only smiles. Just as she told you, she didn’t mind and when she spares a glance at you, she tells you just the same.

It’ll all be alright.

Kotenok Part. Twelve

while you and natasha share a moment of serenity with each other, it’s interrupted when you argue about the conflicts in your relationship.

older!natasha romanoff x younger!reader

kotenok masterlist

You wake with your head buried between her neck. Natasha smells like lavender, honey, and vanilla all at once. With her hair strewn across her pillow, crimson red locks, curled into little ringlets, they make way for the features on her face.

The way she scrunches herself nose in slumber, pink lips parted as she breathes, and the freckles say a quaint hello as the sun shines softly on the both of you.

It’s small.

The days like these where New York city isn’t in a cloud of pent up rain and thunder, the days where the sun is out to play, shows off for a daring sunset when it hits eight o’clock right on the dot.

The days where you get to wake up with the love of your life in your bedroom with your head buried in the crook of her neck.

You’re the first one to stir awake. Your limbs aching from prior activities from the night before. Only then, which to remind you of the purpling hickeys left on the skin of your inner thighs and thin parts of you neck.

A thumb rubs along the bruising colour on your leg, hissing when you realize it’s still fresh as a wound. You don’t mind it, it’s all what makes you owned by Natasha and you’re proud.

But as the chilly air of the AC hits you awake, you sit up against your body’s aching will and a yawn washes the sleep away.

Natasha is next to wake up. Her arm moving over to your side in instinct of searching for you. When she fails and feels your side empty, but warm, her eyes flutter open to find you staring at her with swollen eyes.

“Morning.” You beam at the older woman with a looped smile, which she returns in the process. But when the slumber in her slips away and Natasha leans her head against your back, you feel her warm breath fan against your skin.

Her arm circles against your tiny body and tugs you close against her front. The older woman has no trouble dragging you against her for the sole reason she overweights you in size.

When you melt against her front, feeling her mock your actions as she buries her face against your neck, your body loses all control in an effort to just feel your lover.

“Good morning, moya krasivaya devushka.” She whispers it like a nun in prayer, like you were the only thing she believed was worth worshiping.

And despite the language barrier, you welcomed her embrace and smiled through it all.

“I have no clue what that meant, but good morning to you too.” The redhead hums against your skin, her pale slender fingers drawing circles against the skin that protects your ribs.

She makes another noise of content, this time, pulling her head away to pepper open mouthed kisses on the paper thin skin of your pulse. You jerk slightly in response, but found pure and content comfort in her touch and hold.

The older woman held you like that, breathing in and out as her chest presses against yours. With the curve of your back pressed against her chest, her lips on your skin, gentle sayings were whispered along the way.

“I love you.” She tells you, and Natasha makes you feel it every day of your waking moment.

You smile in return, your head lulling back against her shoulder. The action makes the older woman pause and sigh. “I love you more.”

When you and Natasha finally find the energy to slip away from bed and enter the common room, the two of you are greeted by your friends. Steve is bright and awake, covered in his gym clothes, you have no doubt he just came back from running with Bucky.

Natasha has her hair in a braid, settled to one side, she dawns black leggings with a zip up hoodie that looks too small for her. You gave that to her, the grey hoodie from Lululemon that was a size too big for you, was then rewarded to your girlfriend when she said she was a size four while you were a zero.

She makes oatmeal for the both of you. Raisins in yours and she likes hers bland. Wanda enters the room, and when she does, awareness of her presence is inevitable. But she gently smiles when she sees the two of you.

Suddenly, it’s not all too bad.

When the two of you sit on the barstool next to each other, Natasha plans the day ahead.

Kotenok Part. Twelve

You stand beside the older woman as she signs the receipt, with a big purchase like that, Natasha doesn’t even blink an eye at how the total exceeds two zeros.

You pursed your lips in tow, biting your tongue after to let the question from slipping from your lips. But just as Natasha finishes with the sales associate, the redhead looks up from heavy red lashes and stares with striking emerald eyes.

“What’s on your mind, darling?”

The sales associate disappears the moment the bag is in Natasha’s hand. She doesn’t bat another eye at the employee despite being well aware of his knowing look towards the famous Avenger.

It’s the first time Natasha calls you by such name in public and especially around people. As you stare into her gaze, the smile on her lips present and deepening the smile lines and wrinkles, you know it’s genuine.

You shake your head, smiling as you flush under her gaze. “Nothing. I love you.”

Her brows raise a bit. Her lips purse just as yours did, the only difference is that she’s forcing a smile away. Her pale cheeks are red now, you almost feel bad for making such a sensual woman blush within a simple advocation of admiration.

But she expresses back with a hand reaching out to yours. She squeezes your hand, and then she lets the grin rip all over her face.

Only then, you remember the very first time you’ve loved a girl. The brown headed girl, with the pale skin sprinkled with freckles, and her striking green eyes.

You don’t remember anyone else to love after her. She was only there for a brief moment in your life, a few years or so, sat on different sides of the steel bars, and only then, you remember what it is to feel in love.

You know, and you remember because as you stand there with a smiling Natasha Romanoff, you feel it in the bones that were once broken and bruised, now healed and kissed by none other.

She cocks her head this time, curious and concerned for the sudden silence on your end. And this time, she reaches out with a touch of comfort on the pads of her finger tips.

“You sure?”

You balance the weight of your body on your right feet, shoulders sagging as you blink naively at your lover.

“Did you see the smile Wanda gave us today?”

Natasha is the type to suppress her emotions. The type to have been trained to do so for her whole life. And with that training, comes a time of need. In this moment, you can’t read her.

Your shoulders sag and you purse you lips, waiting for her answer if if it were going to burn you.

“I did.”

“I’m glad.”

She raised a brow. “Are you?”

You nod this time, a small smile erupting on your chapped lips. “I am.” You sigh softly. “I think... Well, I hope, she’s opening up to the idea of my happiness with you.”

“I hope that’s her intentions.” Natasha stands taller now and the sales associate is long gone, had been since he handed her the bag. “You never know with Wanda.”

“She has been hurt, Talia.”

“As if you hadn’t been.” The redhead scoffs, almost offended. “Do not apologize on behalf of the woman who hurt you, darling. It only makes you look bad.”

You get angry with Natasha for a moment. Your heart aches with a hurt that you’ve haven’t felt.

“I’m not apologizing for her behalf.” You snap back accordingly and this time, Natasha stands to tower your small stature. “I’m merely sympathizing for her pain because I know what it had been like for someone important to me be taken away.”

You go on with a warm face and blurred vision. It makes Natasha look like a white blob with red hair.

“It’s not wrong to care, Natalia. It’s not wrong to care about people who have been hurt. And it’s definitely not wrong to care about someone like Wanda who’s experienced enough torment in their life. I am trying to be better than the people who have made me. But I am sorry if you cannot see that.”

“I’m not blind.”

You huff at your girlfriend’s words and for the very time, your throat aches at the idea of talking to Natasha about such a topic.

“I never said you were.”

“You implied it.”

You shake your head, attempting to remove the impending ache that spread across your temple and your front. You sigh when it doesn’t work and so, your shoulders sag in defeat.

“I’m ready to go home.”

And this time, Natasha doesn’t reply back. She doesn’t snap back with a comment, she doesn’t try to talk back to you with a tone that makes you want to step away.

Instead, she leads the way out of the store, then through the crowded floors of the mall, and then into the parking where a valet driver returns her car. You sit where you’ve always have, next to her, but as the silence settles in her Corvette, you realize how much the argument has affected her.

She even goes to grip the steering wheel with a hold that makes her knuckles white and she huffs. As she stares right ahead of her, through the glass and the line painted onto the concrete floor of the parking garage, she’s the first to break the silence.

“You’re right.” You blink up at her when she says the words and the anger you held for the older woman shatters with a crack. “I suppose I’m afraid of her hurting you the way other have done it. I just want you to be happy and I just want your life to be filled with people who do make you happy. Even if it means rejecting those who fit into mine.”

She goes on. “You’re right that it’s not wrong to care about people but I just want you to be careful about how you care for them. I’ve met the other end of the witch, darling, she’s just not all about the words she speaks. If she wanted, and that’s a big if, she could make you disappear.”

You swallow to speak but apparently, she had more to say. “Wanda... I never loved her. At least not in the way she wanted me to. We both craved something that we couldn’t fully give, I needed a distraction, she gave it, but she expected more and I didn’t. It’s hard enough loving someone who’s twenty years your junior and everyone is chastising you for it but doing it with a failed one night stand who seems to have fallen for you? I’d take you anywhere just to have peace with you.”

When the silence settled back in and she finishes, you reach for the love of your life’s hand with a touch so gentle, she would’ve never even felt it if you hadn’t slipped your fingers through hers.

“Wanda is someone we can’t force out of our lives.” Natasha knows that and you too. “But I want to keep loving you without fear or judgment of others. And if apologizing and catering to her will do that, I’d gladly take the opportunity.”

When Natasha turns her head and faces you, a pink shade to her cheeks, a frown blossoms on your lips.

“I never meant to chastise you for caring about people. I think it’s great that you do, but I worry and I just want you to live your life to the fullest. Wanda has no part in our relationship and I don’t think she should, regardless of what she used to mean to me.”

“I know. I know.” Your response to her apology is one that’s genuine. And as Natasha starts the car and backs out of the parking garage, you hold her hand and squeeze it. You turn to her with gentle eyes and an aching heart.

For a moment, she takes her eyes off the road, it’s empty anyways, Natasha has a sense of a bird, of an assassin. She’s always on guard. And for a second between that moment, her eyes shine with glimmer.

“I love you.”

Her hand squeezes yours, and the air runs through the locks of your hair as the windows come down. Your gaze never leaves your lover and you know, even now and even through the argument, you love her, no doubts, no hesitation, even through the worst of it all.

“And I’m sorry.”

You shake your head at your lover’s words. Despite it all, you know she means well, she means her words and her actions with all the love she has for you.

She’s willing to drop everything for a life of happiness with you and your heart aches at the thought of her selfishness, her willingness to just be with you.

You smile at Natasha when the car stops at a light, your features soft while she replicates your own.

“I know.”

There hasn’t been any certainty for a while in your life but as you look at the redhead, you know you’ll be alright.

Her Or Me?

Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Reader

Summary: You find yourself in a situation you never would have imagined, and Natasha has to make a choice- will she save you or her sister?

Word Count: 1,844

Warnings: Heavy angst, angst without a happy ending, guns, descriptions of torture, descriptions murder, death, major character death, blood, stabbing, broken bones, grief, depression, self-blame, and cursing.

A/N: Here you go anon! I made this like super angsty, I guessed you might have wanted that? Sorry if this was too angsty though! This was something that was so painful to write but also I was invested in it. I would say enjoy but… read the warnings, man.

Natasha never would have thought that she would have to choose between her sister and the love of her life. You supposed she would have laughed and scoffed. This was mainly because of how smoothly her life had been going- she left the Avengers to live out her life with you, and was fitting into a society surprisingly well.

The idea that someone could simply come by and snatch up the two people she cared most for and threaten her with it- well, she couldn’t even think about it without tearing up.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. And there was nothing Natasha could do anymore.

Your day started relatively normal. You had woken up a bit late and barely made it to work on time, but you quickly found yourself working through your workday routine. There were meetings here and there, and you worked on responding to emails.

You looked over at the clock and yawned, getting ready to pack up for the day and head home. It was roughly 5:30 PM when you started driving back to your apartment but quickly noticed a van following behind you.

At first glance, it didn’t worry you that much. You were an average person, so the idea anyone would have it out for you didn’t make much sense.

But when you went around the block to your apartment building and the car still followed you into the parking lot, you got panicky. You stopped the car and locked all the doors before reaching for your phone and dialing Natasha’s number.

“Hey, baby what’s up?” You heard the redhead ask from the other line.

You took a deep breath, “Someone’s following me, Nat. Someone in a van- they’re sitting in the parking lot and they haven’t come out yet, but I’m scared.”

Natasha paused, “Okay, don’t panic. Just drive back to the cafe, I’m about a three minute walk from there. We’ll meet up. Just drive there- Yelena works there so you should be safe.”

“No, there’s a man in a dark hoodie walking towards me, I don’t-”

The call ended.

You panicked, looking for every weapon you could possibly use when you heard a fist banging on the window. You silently prayed that Natasha would drive over and assume that you were in danger- which you most certainly were.

You screamed when the man ripped your car door completely off and grabbed your neck and arm. You tried to yell for help, but his grip was too tight, and you were quickly losing oxygen.

Your only thoughts were on Natasha- how you missed her. How it wasn’t your time to die yet. How you weren’t ready.

But then, all you felt was a sharp stinging sensation poked into your neck by a needle, and everything went black.

When you woke up, all you felt was extreme pain. Your arms hung up high by a metal chain, and you quickly noticed blood running down your wrist from how tightly the chains were. You saw a dull light and tried to figure out where you were.

As your eyes adjusted, you concluded that you were in fact in the middle of a warehouse. Deep breathes. Just think, what would Natasha do? You thought to yourself, before checking all your pockets for your phone.

No such luck. All of your personal belongings had been taken away from you.

You attempted once again to scan the room, and gasped in shock at what you saw- Yelena, in the same chains and position as you with a gag in her mouth and desperately fighting the metal that restrained her.

You fought back your urge to scream- you had to help her, and you had to help her now. You lowered your voice and whispered, “Yelena, it’s me. It’s Y/N. You have to calm down, okay?”

You could see the blonde’s eyes widen as she tried to get a good look at you. You noticed her trying to get rid of the gag with her tongue, and eventually, it fell out of her mouth. “They took us. They want to get to Natasha- they want her. They’ll kill us if we don’t-”

Yelena never got the opportunity to finish her sentence when a tall, brunette woman slapped her across the face and put the gag back in her mouth.

You felt sick just seeing the woman’s disgusting, evil smirk at the pain you both were in. “It’s nice to finally have you both here. Truly, I am. Now, I know you’re both very smart people. And I think the two of you know exactly what I want. Hm?”

You paused but nodded, “I know who you want. You want Natasha- you’ll never get her. She’s too smart- she’ll come with the Avengers and you’ll never see the light of day again!” You hissed at her- and your rage only grew when the woman simply chuckled in response.

“That’s adorable. But your little girlfriend is already on the way, my dear. When I told her that she had two hours to come here and choose who to save-”

You cut the woman off, “Choose to save? No, don’t you want her dead- you want to murder her! You’re using us as bait, why would you-”

“Listen! You do not know what happened in my past. I don’t wish to see Romanoff die. Now, that would be much too cruel. I want to see her suffer- I want to see the pain in her eyes realizing that she will be the reason one of you won’t walk out of here alive. I want her to be tortured by her guilt every day she walks on this planet.” The brunette growled at you, and you almost felt nauseous as you saw a sick smile tilt her lips.

Yelena’s face dropped, and you could hear the broken sobs racking her chest through the cloth in her mouth. You on the other hand felt painfully numb. A type of numbness feeling you’d never experienced before- it was so strong that you felt you couldn’t live with it.

“Three… two… one.”

There was a crash and Natasha came rushing in, a gun pointed straight at the woman’s head. “Let them go! They have nothing to do with us, Widow. Allow them to leave here safely and I’ll replace them.”

The woman, or Widow you supposed, just chuckled quietly and shook her head, “No Romanoff. You’re not calling the shots here anymore. You don’t get to choose- well, actually, maybe you do.” Her head tilted before she called out, “Boys! It’s ready!”

Natasha tried to rush over to Yelena, but the Widow simply pushed her right back.

You saw two men wearing all black walk into the room, and you felt the cool metal of a gun pressed firmly against your temple and a strong, muscular arm wrapped around your neck. You glanced over at Yelena, who was in the same situation as you.

“You see Romanoff, I’m not here to kill you. I’m only here to kill one of your loves here- which is up to you of course.” Widow replied, looking at her nails, seeming completely unbothered by the events that were occurring.

Natasha’s face streamed with tears and she said in a broken voice, “You can’t expect me to choose. I can’t choose between them- I love them both. I can’t-” She was cut off but Yelena’s scream when the man took a knife and firmly stabbed her thigh.

Natasha was quick to run over but Widow was faster, holding her back, “Now, now your lovely sister will be fine, Romanoff. But I have noticed you care for her, yes? I suppose Y/N can be the one to go then?”

You let out a choke when the arm around your neck tightened, and you felt your airway close. “No, leave them alone! Fucking stop, get off of me you bitch! Stop, stop!” Natasha yelled, thrashing in Widow’s arms.

You could see Natasha's eyes go back and forth, watching life slowly drain out of both of you. You had stab wounds in both of your legs, and you were choking while Yelena had both of her wrists broken.

“Stop it! Please goddamnit, stop it! I can’t, you have to stop! Kill me instead, please! Don’t make me watch them die, just fucking please!” Natasha begged in a hoarse voice, cries of agony ripping through her.

Widow tutted, “Oh you poor thing. Don’t you understand? They don’t both have to die. You can save one of them- why let them both die? Choose Romanoff. Their time will come soon.”

“No, no-” Yelena screamed with a sob when the man stabbed her in her upper right arm- “You leave my sister alone, stop!”

“Nat… please.” You begged her, your oxygen slowly running out. You saw the redhead look at you with watery eyes, and looked away, almost too ashamed to see you. “We have everything planned out… we have a future.”

“I’m sorry baby.” She let out another sob, tears violently running down her cheeks. “I’m so sorry Y/N, I love you so much. I’ll love you forever, baby. I’ll never forget you.”

“NO, PLEASE-”

“Yelena.” Natasha whispered quietly to Widow, and she gave a short nod of approval for the man to finally end your suffering

“You can’t, Nat, NO-”

The click of the gun went off, and the bullet ran through your skull. Natasha cried out as blood ran down your temples, and your eyes had no emotion in them.

“It’s okay, Romanoff. We can’t save them all, hm?” Widow said with a sadistic grin before looking towards the man, who still had a grip on Yelena. “It’s okay. Let Belova go with her sister.”

Yelena was quickly removed from her chains and Natasha wasted no time running over to her and grasping her in her arms.

“They’re gone- because of me! I did this, I’m a murderer- I’m a killer-” Yelena shushed her and slowly rocked her.

“No Nat. You’re not a killer, far from it. Widow didn’t give you a choice, okay? You’re a good person, Nat. Y/N understood- they loved you. They would never blame you.” Yelena grunted in pain, falling over.

Natasha gasped and helped the blonde stand, “We have to get you to a hospital, come on. Let’s go.” The redhead promptly scooped up her sister and ran to the nearest door before running into the daylight.

“It’s going to be okay, Nat. Y/N loved you. Please, understand that they will always love you.” Natasha slowly shook her head, tears forming once again in her eyes,

“I heard their voice, and it wasn’t one of forgiveness. They loved me with all their heart and I threw it away- I’ll never be able to live without them, Lena. I cannot feel happy anymore.”

“That’s not true, you don’t know-”

“It is. Without them, I’m nothing. Just an empty shell. And for what I’ve done, it’s what I deserve. I deserve this guilt, this suffering. I truly do.”

Natasha had taken the girl under her wing after they saved her from Hydra, she was practically her mom now and saw the girl as her daughter. When her daughter can’t stop the thoughts running through her mind, telling her she’s ungrateful, that she should be happy, she has everything now and she shouldn’t be feeling like this; she takes sleeping pills, maybe too many, just wanting those thoughts to stop and her mind to be quiet. Kotenok Part. Eleven

you and wanda talk and so do you and your girlfriend.

older!natasha romanoff x younger!reader

warnings: major age gap, natasha being a cute sappy older girlfriend, talks about past abuse, angst but the good kind.

series masterlist

Wanda’s room is settled a few doors from yours. It’s the one at the end of the hallway, it sits closed, the lock clicked. It’s the only one that’s locked and isolated from the rest and when the silence of the house settles in, you understand why she chose this suite.

You don’t force your way in but instead, a gentle knock caresses the oak wood of her door. It echoes loud throughout the hallway and almost makes you cringe but she actually opens the door and finds you staring at her, you almost feel bad for intruding in a moment that was supposed to be her’s.

She stares at you with a glare, a purse to her lips that almost makes them look like a scowl. “Can I help you?”

You gently smiled at the woman, guilt and sympathy written on the features of your face. You couldn’t possibly have known what Wanda was feeling but you knew she could with you. You didn’t mind that she could read your thoughts, Natasha had always been against it, soemthing about the carelessness of your actions or the way you held yourself when it came to privacy.

Perhaps, it was because you never had it growing up. It was something earned. Even back then, HYDRA never really gave much privacy to any of the test subjects. You were forced to live within one another. Cells made for a two people capacity were filled with about five girls at once.

It was easier said than done but Wanda didn’t need to know any of that just so you could guilt trip her into talking to you. If it was something she didn’t want to do, you would respect it.

You were here just to hope that you could earn her’s in return.

“Are you alright?” It was genuine as that but the way the Sokovian’s features twisted in disgust made her think otherwise.

“Am I alright?” She scoffed. Which you frowned in response, your head cocking in question. “Maybe if you kept it in your fucking pants then yeah, I would’ve been alright.”

Your shoulders sagged at her accusation. You never meant to hurt her. You understood where she came from. With Irina and everything, Natasha and Yelena. Wanda was a stepping stone that felt like she was taken advantage of. You did feel for her, but you couldn’t and wouldn’t excuse her for that.

“I’m sorry if I’ve offended you.”

She shook her head and offered a laugh.

“I really am, Wanda. I know how much Natasha meant to you and I’ve never mean to hurt you in any way. I know I can’t offer you solace, I’m not Natasha but I don’t want carry the burden of hurting you.”

The Sokovian looked at you as she blinked. You couldn’t tell what was going on in her mind, it was too odd. While you meant every word you said, you just hoped that she could process them to fully embrace her reality.

The silence between you were broken when you heard padded steps down the hallway. When you turned, and looked, Natasha strode towards you in the jean shorts she wore.

“Detka...” Her accent was stronger and you offered her a twitch of your lips. She walked faster and when she finally found you, her eyes also saw her past lover. She turned back to you, her facade returning as she grinned. “We’re playing truth or dare.”

Wanda gave a snort. “What are you guys? Twelve?”

You giggled at the Sokovian’s comment, which in tow, made Natasha smile. But it dropped as soon as the comment fell silent and Wanda stood awkwardly between the three of you.

Natasha tugged on your arm, acting like a child as if she wasn’t twenty years your senior. You smiled at her then turned to Wanda.

“I mean what I said, Wanda.” She blinked at you. You said no less and when you turned to walk with Natasha, she led you down the hallway, her hand intertwined with yours, her lips against your temple.

“I love you, okay?”

You nodded. “I know...”

Kotenok Part. Eleven

The sunset at the lake makes everything okay. Your eyes glaze over at the way the waters casts a nice glow, the sun, warm, but the wind makes it chill.

You smile at the view. Something about it makes your body ache and relax with a snap of a finger. Your eyes close when you felt a touch to your back, a soothing dancing finger along your exposed spine.

You love it here and you never want to leave.

You apparently expressed it vocally when Natasha chuckles beside you and kisses your exposed shoulder.

“Me too, kotenok.”

You beamed at her, excited by the idea. “Really?”

She smiled gently, her features soft and kind, and her eyes twinkled green. It made the insides of your stomach churn and your heart ache.

Natasha twirled a strand of your hair around her slender finger. It made your cheeks flush in return.

“If that’s what you really want. Then I’d do it in a heartbeat.” Her sultry voice held a genuine tone to it. They always did and there was a reason why you found solace and comfort in Natasha. She was someone you could rely on, life or death.

“You know I wouldn’t ask that of you.” You reached out to the older woman to touch her hand. Your eyes carefully examined her features, the wrinkles around her eye, the smile lines on her face. God, this woman would be the death of you.

Every bit of Natasha made her. But you know, there was some part of her that reminded you of Irina. It wasn’t bad. It was just... nostalgic.

“You have too much here to give it up.”

Natasha almost chuckled as she shook her head.

“Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t do it for you.”

You sighed and almost felt an ache in your heart. Not the bad kind, but certainly not the good one either. It was just the way Natasha said it. The way she would drop everything for you. The selfishness of it all.

You leaned against her. Cheek against her arm while she held you against her. Your eyes closed once more.

“Even if we did,” you started, “I’m not saying I want to. But if we did... Would you be happy with that lifestyle?”

Natasha sighed.

“I think it’s something I could adjust to.” You nodded but she wasn’t done. “I love you, that’s all I know is for certain. I wouldn’t mind living out the rest of my life if it’s with you.”

Warmth raced to your cheeks and you flushed, Natasha couldn’t help but chuckle at your state despite her soothing words prior. You fell into her hold and melted.

“I can’t believe I have someone like you living.”

“I can.” She smiled as she huddled against your body, feeling as you relaxed under her touch. “I hope everything was fine with Wanda.”

You frowned and you shook your head.

“I feel responsible.”

“For what?”

“For taking you away.”

Natasha shook her head and frowned. She let you sit up and when you did, she stared at you with confused eyes and a pinched set of brows.

“You didn’t take me away, kotenok. I chose to be with you.” She cupped your cheek, and in the comfort of her soft palms, she titled your head to face her gaze.

“What me and Wanda had nothing to do you with you and I understand you feel some part in hurting my ex... You don’t. It’s between me and her. And I’m incredibly sorry that she had decided to make you feel that way.”

“I don’t hope for her to forgive me easily.” You shrugged. “But I wish she would let me be happy”

Natasha shook her head and frowned. “And there’s nothing wrong with that, my love. You are allowed to be selfish. You deserve every bit to be selfish. Okay?”

You nodded softly at her words but the tears that stained your cheeks made her frown deepened. She wiped them away with her thumb and sighed.

“It’s okay, baby.” You shook your head, attempting to swallow the sob bubbling your throat. But it was futile as you started hiccuping, shaking with a cry as Natasha took you in and embraced you.

“I want you to live the very best version of your life.” Natasha kissed the top of your head. “With or without me, don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.”

You sniffed, calming down with every hiccuping breath you took. While your chest ached at the idea of living a life with out Natasha, you knew with her memories you could.

And as the sunsets, your breathing falling along with it, you sit at the edge of the dock with your girlfriend at peace. Everything about it. Her love, her embrace.

“We should head in.”

The silence answers her and when she stands, you take her hand and you let her lead you inside. The steps against the wooden floor makes it sound padded and both of you just smile at the way the silence of the hallway echoes every breath.

That night, you fall asleep clothed against Natasha. Buried in the crook of her neck, she smells like the sun and everything you admire.

kotenok part. ten

Kotenok Part. Ten

the team goes on a small vacation upstate, you and natasha enjoy yourself, and conversation amongst the team are made.

older!natasha romanoff x younger!reader

warnings: major age gap, mommy kink, fingering, squirting, wanda is a jealous bitch, awkward situations.

series masterlist

The sun shone on you like a glow that made your skin tingle. You smiled at the feeling, warmth replacing the ache and break in your heart from the breakdown you had a week ago.

You suppose it’s over now. Natasha was with you and so was the team. However much you despised them for their reluctance about your relationship with the older woman, their company at the cabin was something you admired.

It felt like a family outing.

Like everything was normal.

And as you sat on the edge of the pool in your red bikini, feet saturated in the water below you, chuckles from Peter and MJ echoed in your head. In the far distance, from the in pool bar, you could hear chatter from Tony and Rhodey.

It was the many moments with the team where everyone gathered. You were thankful everyone found a day off where the world didn’t need saving to travel up north of New York to the expensive little cottage Tony owned.

With the whole team invited, you carried on with your tanning as you watched them through your pink tinted sunnies perched up on the bridge of your nose.

“You having fun?”

You turned around to find your red headed girlfriend smiling at you. The older woman, mocking your outfit, but in a black bikini with a sarong wrapped about her waist, sat comfortably on her lounge chair with a book in her hand.

You smiled. Then softly nodded. “Are you?”

The older woman shrugged, and then sat up. Perched up on her shoulders, her eyes trailed from you to her friends who were in the pool.

“It’s hot.”

You giggled. “It is. I feel like I’m getting roasted out here.”

Natasha’s lips quirked up into a grin, her eyes now fully focused on you as you stared at her through your sunnies. She chuckled along with you and then whipped her head back to look into the cottage.

She contemplated it for a moment and you quirked a brow at your girlfriend, curious to what she was thinking.

“Wanna settle in our room for a moment? It’s colder in there.” There was an implication in her sultry tone but you knew her all too well. Natasha was insinuating more than what she intended and you saw through her.

She apparently caught on to your gaze, smiling as the gears worked through in your head. She smiled, setting her book down with the bookmark apparent for her to see.

“No funny business.”

You smiled. Unsure of her promise, not that it was one in the first place but you knew there was always something more.

You stood up from the pool, a grin present on your lips as water cascades down your thighs. And as you inched yourself towards your lover, a hand out for her to take, she sat up from her chair and took it.

Leading you inside the house, the cold air hits the both of you with surprise, your nipples blossom with ease but Natasha turn to get a glimpse. Instead, the both of you pad your way down the hallway until you found the room where you and her are suppose to stay.

Unbeknownst to both of you, the eyes of a certain Sokovian from the other end of the pool, watched as the two of you disappeared.

When you and Natasha find yourself all alone in your shared room, you find her words correct as the air dries the droplets of water on your skin.

She’s attached to you the moment the door clicks shut. Her skin is abnormally cold, and it rises goosebumps on your own as sweeps hair away from your neck.

“I can’t wait for tonight’s bonfire.” You admit it through a soft whisper, your eyes focusing on the eccentric decor of the room, attempting to distract yourself from Natasha’s lips against the nape of your neck.

She hums, carefully and gently in response. “I’m sure we’ll have fun. Have you enjoyed the vacation so far?”

You gave her a nod, a smile presenting itself on your lips in genuine content. It had been a while. You hadn’t felt this happy since you and Natasha made it official. You found a family and they found you. It was all working together, even if it wasn’t perfect. It was all here.

“I haven’t had this much fun in a while.”

Her hand snuck around your waist and to your front, slender fingers and cherry red painted nails gently scraped the front of your tummy.

“That’s good, kotenok. I’m glad.”

Natasha was relentlessly with her teasing, but somehow, she managed to work her way through it with small talk about the cottage. And as she dipped her hand under your red bikini bottom, she asked you about how you felt about hiking.

You frowned, then bit your lip when Natasha found out you were shaven bare underneath as she slightly paused in her touch.

“I don’t like walking.” She smiled against your neck, then moved up to nip your lobe before her finger dip to swirl the pads of her fingertips against your clit. You whimpered, your head lulling back against Natasha’s shoulder where she welcomed you.

“I know you don’t, baby.” She cooed against your ear, feigning a conversation as her finger now travelled further south to smear your arousal over your cunt.

If anyone could see the two of you, it would be a sin. The sight of you settled on Natasha’s lap, legs parted with the obvious sight of the older woman’s hand between your legs and down your bottoms, fingers sawing back and forth as she fingered you, hell would let lose.

You felt ashamed. Not of your relationship but that you left your friends and family out in the pool to be a slut with your girlfriend. Though, you’re sure no one could blame you. With the older woman sitting behind you, she was an insatiable thing.

You adored her. Adored how she couldn’t get enough of you. Adored how she worshipped your body as if it were the only one out there. Compared to Natasha’s, you were a small, petite, and meek girl. Compared to her’s, she had legs of a super model, abs of a swimmer, and creamy clear skin of that a whiteboard.

You weren’t jealous. You didn’t envy your girlfriend. It was something you could never do. But you do wonder from time to time, how a woman such as her, mature and grown, could find fulfillment in someone like you.

Perhaps that’s what some of the team thought. The age gap. The taboo of it all. The media hasn’t found out yet. You and her were careful. Even while out in the city, the media had only dubbed the two of you as bestest of friends. You could only laugh at the pictures.

You didn’t mind. You had Natasha all to yourself. Even if it were just within the walls of the tower, you and her were content. Even if they really did think the two of you were gal pal’s. Best friends don’t finger each other the way she had been doing.

And as Natasha nuzzled her nose against your cheek, holding your firm against her front, you could feel her breasts press up firmly against your back. Her taunt nipples chafing against her bikini top, touching your back like they were teasing you.

So, you bucked your hip and wiggled your hips against her. She grinned and then nipped the thin skin of your pulse.

“My insatiable little girl.” Her voice was sultry in tone, almost like honey. “Mommy’s fingers not enough?”

Your breath was shaky when you spoke. “Y-You just feel so good, mommy.”

Natasha smiled and you felt it against your cheek as she pressed her face against yours. You had fallen deep as she pumped her fingers in and out, and turns out she had too as both of your breathing had synced in tow of your orgasm.

And that was the thing about the older woman. She took pleasure in your pleasure. She always made sure you were satisfied, always taken care of. You always attempted to return the gesture, sometimes fingering her with her praises, and sometimes eating her out when she was still asleep.

But it had always been you.

To Natasha, there was nothing more important than you. She made to show you that through everything she did. Even if others despised her for it. You were everything.

“You’re so tight, kotenok.” She said it through a hiss. “God, you’re such a pretty girl for me, baby.”

You flushed under her words which caused her chuckle.

“It’s true, dekta. It’s all you.” You whimpered when she curled her fingers, and she even mocked your little whine when she fastened her hand. “Let go, honey. Let go. It’s just me.”

When you shook and cried in her hold, hips bucking in tow, Natasha held you through the way until her fingers soaked and dripping. The squelching sound filling your ears before you laid limp in her arms as you finished.

“There we go, kotenok.”

You whimpered when you felt her fingers leave you, feeling empty, you squirmed in her lap and sighed.

“It’s still hot.”

Natasha chuckled and helped you sit up. Her cheeks, now a crimson red, stared at you as you peered up at her from where you sat.

“Let’s go wash off then.” You raised a brow at her suggestion. “For real this time. No funny business.”

She helped you stand, legs wobbly as the two of you walked into the large shower. Tony really did outdo himself with the cottage. It was beautiful and lush. Eccentric but still modern in a sense.

And as the two of you stood under the shower, Natasha kept to her promise.

Kotenok Part. Ten

Chatter echoed against your ear, your lips curled into a smile, your body curled against Natasha’s lap, while her hands were curled against yours.

You smiled when she sat her chin on the top of your head, occasionally pulling away to get a sip of her beer which almost made you jealous and out of place as everyone had a glass in their hand. Even Peter as he sat close with MJ.

But you didn’t mind. You didn’t need to be intoxicated to enjoy what was happening. That was, Tony telling a story of that one time where Steve asked him what was an OnlyFans, as he was approached by a fan once asking that he should create once.

The whole group fell into a fit of laughter, making you smile as you watched the scene unfold. It was a story that you hadn’t heard of. It had happened way before you even joined the team, but it was a story that you were going to cherish like a memory.

The scene in front of you made you feel warm and all giddy inside. It felt odd. It was one of those rare occasions where you could feel happy without worry, without any fear or stress. Those moments where it was just you and your favourite people in the world.

You smiled as Tony made large and dramatic hand movements, falling deeper into Natasha’s hold. Rhodey eventually got him to settle down, making the billionaire to roll his eyes in tow while Pepper scolded him for being so loud.

The moment was wonderful. And when the group fell back into its comfortable silence, you sighed and snuggled close to Natasha’s arms.

Tony caught your gaze and he smiled. “Feeling cozy, Romanoff?”

You heard Natasha hum beneath you but you also watched her roll her eyes at Tony’s teasing antics. You were cozy, both of you were and you couldn’t help but grin at Tony’s question in response.

“Where did you two go off this afternoon?”

He was talking about when Natasha suggested the two of you cool off in your shared room. Which turned from cooling off to two fingers, knuckles deep inside of you, the comment made you flush under the fire’s warmth.

“We cooled off.” Natasha said it ever so simple with a face that said nothing at all. Her emerald striking eyes staring at Tony.

It was all fun and games.

Until Wanda spoke up with a nerving comment.

“Didn’t sound like it was just cooling off.”

The silence now became uncomfortable and you frowned in return, your eyes looking over at your friends who’s gaze were settled on the wooden deck.

Natasha settled uncomfortably under you and repositioned you on her lap. She scoffed and turned to Wanda.

“What makes it your business, Maximoff?” Natasha’s tone was firm and irritated, it held an octave lower than usual and her grip on you was tighter.

You frowned and turned, smushing your face against her breasts to hide away from the embarrassment.

“How about we settle down—”

“It’s my business when the two of you are always sneaking off to fuck.” Wanda’s voice was much louder and you couldn’t help but cower under her tone. “This is supposed to be a family event. A team thing. But you two can’t keep it in your pants for at least five fucking days.”

“Wanda.” Steve’s voice echoes against the silence and you see him with a glare harder than you’ve ever seen. Your eyes bat from the captain to the Sokovian witch. “Keep it to yourself. Natasha and Y/n are minding their own business. They’re in a happy and wonderful relationship and I suggest you keep your words to yourself unless you want to be sent home.”

“Tasha...”

The redhead snuggled close to you, both of you watching the scene unfold as Steve looks at the younger woman across from him. It’s all awkward, the topic of your relationship with Natasha was one that wasn’t usually brought up as it caused rifts in the team, but seeing one of the many few people stand up for the both of you? Something ached in your chest.

Wanda rolled her eyes, and within the writhing moments as she stood, she left and disappeared into the house.

The fire crackling settled the silence in the air, the warm auburn glow from the heat made you frown at how the night had been ruined. You shook your head and sat up from your seat, jerking Natasha to attention.

You smiled at the woman, pecked her lips and moved away from her lap. “I’ll be back.”

Her brows furrowed but before she was able to protest, you had slipped away into the darkness.
