I realised I've never properly drawn my Amell.
Trying to start up a small sketch-a-day project, since it's exactly the kind of thing you should be doing during finals week.
New portrait time!! It's Morrigan!!! I wanted to design an outfit that she would wear into the Nightmare Court where she can rub it in everyone's faces how much of a goddess she is, with her come out of that darkness and creating her own light. I really had to work on this one to get it right, she went through many versions to get here, and im really happy with the result! she'll be on redbubble too!
I will just drop this here and leave and never look at it again lest I find more things to fix :’)
another mspaint mouse drawing bc i miss my drawing tablet
Rhys had a little sister that we'll never see him get over protective over. We'll never see her push his hand off as he ruffled her her(I feel Iike that would have happened a lot). We won't ever see her interaction with Feyre. Or anyone else as a matter of fact. And idk if better or worse that we never saw her, we know nothing of her, but at least we're not attached as much. Unlike the inner Circle, I wonder how much they miss both of them.
(PS: I have read only till ACOWAR so if I'm missing something after that, yeahhhh)
I feel like getting that letter from Varric would be the last push Merrill needs to get her Eluvian working again. Then she’d march into Skyhold, grab both Varric and the Inquisitor by the ear and drag them back into the Fade to rescue her girlfriend.
i drew the DA:O LIs as little kids once a long time ago and i wanted to do it again because sometimes the very thought of it makes me wanna cry
Okay but because I am the bisexual disaster that I am...
Morrigan from DA:O has a motherfucking chokehold on me. Like istg shes super hot, she's intelligent, and by the end of the game she turns into a MILF!?
I looked at her for the first time and fell in love, I swear. How dare my bisexual heart have a crush on a straight woman >:(
Same goes for Varric too, I am in love with that man (or maybe it's his chest hair) I know I'm always going to be second to Bianca and I don't care :,(
Forever convinced bg3 is just dao for a modern audience. Here's my reasons as comparisons between party members:
Morrigan/Shadowheart: trauma goth girls
Leliana/Shadowheart: religion + flowers = adorkable loser that's obsessed w/you
Alistair/Wyll: precious cinnamon rolls that are too good for the rest of us (but with ✨secrets✨)
Alistair/Gale: will kill you with awkwardness and kindness (and maybe cheese)
Alistair/Astarion: pretty hair bois
Zevran/Astarion: elves with KNIVES and sexy accents
Sten/Lae'zel: dude with big sword that doesn't understand local customs
Dog/Scratch/Owlbear: this one's obvious
Wynne/Jaheira: easily the smartest person in the group, will totally judge when you fuck up, gives great mom advice
Leliana/Karlach: would definitely love to shop together, Karlach would prob think Leli's sense of style is nuts tho (she seems more practical to me idk and we all know what Orlesians are like)
Morrigan/Halsin: turns into bear, is scary
Angry goth + happy go lucky jesus lady = traumatized sassy girl that likes dogs
i've connected the dots
Played dragon age origins romanced Alistair but then at the lands meet he fucking bailed because I didn’t kill Lohgain, and I wasn’t gonna let my boyfriend get killed and then I was like “well at least I have Moriggan” but shes not interested in a female warden, so I’m like “fine at least I have a pal” but she fuckin bails as well so after all that I’m just sad fortunately Zevran stayed, and he agreed to go with me on adventures.
I’m moving in a few days so all my digital art stuff is packed away… woe is me 🥲
A Morrigan in mid-transformation. Created for Creatuanary.
Morrigan v/s Demitri
I don't think sjm did any other interviews from 2021~ now (or if she did it's not public so I can't see it) and since I've only first read acotar during January of last year and only acosf and hosab came out when I was actually a part of the fandom, I've never actually seen any of sjm's interview until this recent one with Katherine Webber and I have to say.. the way sjm haters villainize sjm one would think sjm is some kind of heartless psycho that 1. purposely created Danika Fendyr solely to be used as a plot device because she's dead 2. purposely designed Rhys and Feyre to be selfish rulers who will be the doom of Velaris 3. purposely made Feyre such an irresponsible mother and ruler 4. purposely made Rhysand such a manipulative and irresponsible ruler 5. purposely made nesta such a evil and uncaring person not even bothering to redeem her (you all, nesta's human, she makes mistakes and it's not always okay but that doesn't make her an evil person who doesnt deserve a second.. well fine maybe third... chance) 6. purposely killed the thirteen (this one's a joke you people who take everything so literally) 7. purposely made Rhys and Feyre seem so heartless they could have sex when people are dying (bro it's supposed to be romantic not a personal attack on the dying people 🙄 it's supposed to symbolize how "people in find hope in others [in sex, yes] during the hardest times" 8. purposely created the IC as a toxic enviorment and toxic family who "keeps things from each other" and "don't trust and open up to each other" (eg: Mor not being willing to admit she's gay, telling feyre her preganacy can kill her WELL IF YOU WERE IN THEIR POSITION YOU PROBABLY WOULD DO THAT SAME THING) 9. purposely made Bryce curvy without "proper representation" because she's fatphobic 10. purposely didn't give any of her characters god forbid THERPY and had them magically get better (you all fun fact no one believes in therapy where i live and im suicidal but obviously im not dead yet and probably also less messed up than HALF of you sjm haters so one doesnt require therapy to get over trauma or to just... not be dead✨) 10. purposely gave Rhys and Feyre power (and from one of the acotar hate chain I quote) "so they can fucking waste it" 11. purposely had Nyx conceived out of fear (not true but I'll humor you all)
I could go on and on and on but i think this sufficient don't you? You all, acotar and tog and cc are books. in a world designed by a single human. characters have flaws, it doesnt mean they're horrible people, it doesnt mean the AUTHOR is a horrible person or transphobic or fatphobic or anti lgbtq.
also note that before every single point there is a "purposely" as in the things these characters do maybe arent totally correct, but it isn't done because of "problematic intensions"
I don't think SJM is problematic. she's human like any of us, and that means she has her own viewpoints or writes about things she finds acceptable but you don't. that doesnt make her a bad person or a problematic author.
I find it so funny that acotar people go "I want to hold Feysand accountable because etc etc/ they shouldn't have etc. etc it's selfish/ they're bad leaders" but y'all they're fictional??? Like yea uh sure go hold fictional people accoutable but like uh what's the point? And hold the author accountable??? Waitttt is sjm gonna rule Velaris someday and suddenly vow to die together with her husband cuz that's gonna be so cool.
Do y'all haters read acotar just for the sake of critisizing it? Cuz it pisses me off (cuz YES i do get defensive cuz i love them but i get ur freedom of expression stuff) but i get it cuz being judgemental is fun. i like it and I started this post as being sarcastic but now i find it funny. One thing, totally fine with critisizing characters, but its a direct insult to actual humans beings if you call them *dumb*, who, by the way, read sjm bc they like sjm and actually feel happy reading sjm and is certainly smarter than people who read sjm for the sake of hating sjm cuz why waste your time if you don't even like it? It's like wearing the color pink to tell people you hate pink like why do you even bother? also, riceman and feyrugs actually really creative, but my acotar loving side is screaming but all is well.
would love some responses, feel free to hate (since you probably hate for the sake of hating, no judgement even if you call be dumb cuz i am since im failing math) will respond when im bored and will try not to get defensive (but i will)
if i sound sarcastic or stuff, i swear im not but have fun hating cuz im also gonna have alotta fun answering
is that as problematic as she is, her writing touches me. I'll be reading acotar or hoeab or tog and then there's these moments where I truly feel the writing. I can connect with what sjm have written, I can connect with what Feyre, Nesta, Aelin is feeling. And she describes it in a way where I read a sentence and what I am feeling or have felt is described perfectly. And there's these sudden bursts of emotions because it's not because she wrote she's sad or she's mad, but she shows how conflicted the character feels, how helpless, how afraid these characters feel, in a way that made me realize that I'm not alone in my feelings and that others have felt what I have felt too. This is why I fell in love with her writing, with her characters. And if she's problematic, then so be it, but I'm not going to stop reading her books because I believe that the book and the author are seperate things and just because you hate the author, doesn't mean you have to hate the characters too. And even if she racist or homophobic, I still thank her for writing these books, for helping me realize that it's going to be okay through her writing.
You look upon the world around you and you think you know it well. I have smelled it as a wolf, listened as a cat, prowled shadows that you never dreamed existed.
that one scene in nevermoor when jupiter mentioned that morrigan cut up ivy’s dress to make curtains when ivy made her get a pixie cut
[ID: digital art of morrigan crow, wearing black and holding scissors. she has short hair, and is standing outside of a room with patchwork pink curtains. there is a speech bubble saying "has anybody seen my dress?" and undernearth there is a blond woman's head as an icon. End ID]
updated image id by @nevermoor-described
in the art book it's mentioned that they considered having morrigan and isabela as dai-style advisors, and you know what that means. ultimate-sacrificed or succumbed-to-the-calling hof-romanced morrigan and left-in-the-fade hawke-romanced isabela middle-aged widow yuri. is what that means.
local elf twice divorced despite having never married everybody point and laugh

"Something's wrong," Kallian muttered, holding out her arm to stop her companions.
"It's just the Blackmarsh," Nathaniel replied, his voice low. It was an eerie place, full of fog and cricketing bugs, and they'd each fallen silent without discussion as they crossed into its boundaries.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Kallian remarked, impatient as she turned to inspect him. They hadn't quite gotten used to each other yet. When Kallian looked at him, she saw his father who'd sold her people into slavery. When Nathaniel looked at her, he saw his father's murderer, the one who'd disgraced his family name.
"My... family used to tell me stories of this place," he said, stepping forward and waiting for her to carry on. "It's haunted."
"The Veil here is thin," Velanna interrupted, clutching to her staff tightly.
"Great," Kallian grumbled.
"Nothing our fearless leader can't handle," Anders grinned. She forced a smile back, but he reminded her too much of Alistair for it to be genuine. She hadn't seen him for weeks.
"Just be on your guard," she said, drawing her sword and hefting her shield into place.
Within the hour; the marshlands had separated them.
"Shit," Kallian hissed, stumbling past another tree she'd been sure was one of her Wardens. Travelling with them was incredibly different to what she was used to. They were not her friends, and they never would be. She was their Warden-Commander. Their Duncan. She'd brought them into this forsaken place, and it was her responsibility to get them out.
"Anders?" she called, suppressing the shiver that ran through her at the prospect of raising her voice. With any luck, her Wardens would be the only ones who heard her.
"Velanna?" She would have plenty to say when they did reunite, Kallian was sure of that. She reminded her of Morrigan. The thought made her grit her teeth. If her best friend hadn't run off as soon as she could, Velanna's disappointment and scathing remarks might have been a fond reminder.
"Nathaniel?" There was still no answer.
The Blackmarsh was suffocating in its darkness. The tall, willowy trees forbade moonlight, and she'd stupidly been relying on the mages for light. It had barely been something she'd needed to think about before, between Morrigan, Wynne, and Shale.
Every twig that snapped underfoot was a painful buzz at the back of her neck. She felt like she was being watched.
She missed Ciarth.
"Kallian?"
She spun around at the sound of her name. There was no one there. Her breath came quick, pluming ahead of her like campfire smoke but not half as comforting.
"Oh, you bastard," she whispered shakily, her wide eyes wildly darting from side-to-side. Demons, spirits, whatever it was... she hated it.
Kallian slowly pivoted back, ready to press on and find her group.
A scream tore through her throat without mercy. She staggered backwards, tripping over a sprawling root and landing in a heap on the wet ground.
As she'd turned, she'd been nose to nose with an impossibility.
"D-Daveth?" she whimpered, gaping in horror.
He stared at her. It wasn't him, it couldn't have been, she knew it. If not for the fact he'd died over a year ago – he wasn't smiling. Daveth was always smiling.
"Kallian," he said, and Maker, did it sound like him. She'd thought that voice was familiar.
He sounded strange, though. There was no laughter in his voice, no hint of a joke ready to go.
Dried blood drenched the lower half of his face, and his nose sat at an odd angle.
She knew it wasn't him. But for the life of her, she couldn't tear her eyes away.
"How did you do it?" he asked, standing stock still. For a moment she thought he was talking about the archdemon, and panic throbbed in her chest once again at the thought of anyone finding out about Morrigan's ritual. Of her part in it.
"Do–"
"Let me die?"
A lump stuck in her throat, and tears quickly flooded to her eyes.
"I–"
"Why didn't you help me?"
"Daveth–"
"And now you've forgotten me."
Her hand flew to her Warden's amulet. She'd scratched his name and Jory's on the back of it almost as soon as she'd gotten it.
"No," she whispered, struggling to her feet despite the sickness in her stomach threatening to spill over. This was the Gauntlet all over again.
When she stood, her sword shaking in her hand, Not-Daveth still stared at the spot she had been. His eyebrows pinched upwards, his head tilted slightly. He looked unbearably sad.
He wasn't real. Not a ghost either. Daveth was gone. She had to say something to vanquish whatever demonic magic was at work.
Kallian drew in a deep breath.
"Fuck off."
A rustle of leaves.
"Commander?"
She turned to see who it was.
When she looked back; Daveth was gone again.
