Rei is being resurrected from a member of Deadmanz to a member of UNDEAD. In Resurrection Sunday, we learn that Koga named the unit UNDEAD because he wanted to inspire Rei to keep on living after he looked like a corpse during the war. He wanted to “resurrect” Rei. I think this shot has bat wings not just to match UNDEAD’s theme, but because it was UNDEAD that resurrected Rei
