I got some monster high dolls for Christmas, and I wanna show 'em off
I was especially spoiled with the 2023 holiday edition Skellita Calaveras
the following is the line up of all my dolls, three of which I received last year (Scaradise Draculara, Creepover Twyla, and Ghoulia)
I also have Posea Reef, but I don't like messing with her. She seems to be somewhat emotional whenever I move her. The final photo is how I the six of the dolls set up on my shelf. Skellita is with Posea on a special shelf.

Ik the monster high g1 vs g3 discourse is like over but I recently watched the g3 movies and the first season of the show and unironically am about to watch the first movie for the 3rd time
Like it's endearing, it reminds me of being a little kid like this is MY monster high generation that I get to grow up with because I wasn't allowed to watch g1 when I was little it totally has its moments and isn't my favorite story or visual wise but it's alright because that's why I'm an artist lmao

Wasn’t planning on colouring this lol. might be able to tell as I was just going to shade a couple parts. But I like this doll and it’s design so I needed to colour it.
Okay I'll admit...I like G3 Monster High, no, I loved it even. It managed to do something G1 Monster High couldn't do for me and that's not to bash G1 cause that will always be my number one but the way they address certain topics like therapy and queerness with such casualty makes the child in me feel so happy and seen.
I truly feel that if it wasn't a Monster High reboot series more people would've accepted it but because of its connection to the franchise people's nostalgia for the characters got the better of them and stopped them from enjoying it and seeing it as nothing more than a meaningless cash grab.

I found out that the Buried Secrets: Cozy Creepover collection appeared in our city and decided to try my luck. I really wanted Cleo. Unfortunately, all the methods I knew didn't help and I decided to just take a chance. And I got Clawdeen
When I decided to buy, I decided that if I got Draculaura or Clawdeen, I would make an ooak. So I was upset, but not too much
On the plus side, she looks prettier in real life than on the promo. I even thought about leaving her in the collection
On the minus side - hair. I think that the quality of g3 hair leaves much to be desired, but here everything is really sad. I suppose that I will have to change her hair
That's the purchase. I think I'll show the result here, and also finish the restyling of Frankie G3
Soulmates au!. (Toradeen version).
Ok, here's an idea that I've had for more than half a year, I've wanted to write a fanfic about it but I haven't been able to, and since I can't stand the urge to talk about it anymore, I'll publish the idea here.
So I was thinking about a soulmate au where you can only see colors when you see your soulmate. All very typical so far I know, but here's the thing:
Only monsters know the concept of soulmates.
So Clawdeen, half human and unaware that are soulmates, lives her life as the strange colorblind girl obsessed with monsters.
That is until she arrives at Monster High and discovers that she is half wolf, oh and of course, she can suddenly see colors. She is quite confused about this and asks Frankie and Draculaura several questions about this, where they explain the concept of soulmates to her. The problem? She saw many students when she arrived so she has no idea who is her soulmate.
So Clawdeen's entire season one would continue to focus on finding her mother, but now she must also find who is her soulmate.
Toralei on the other claw, She realized that Clawdeen is her soulmate the moment she saw her. And that scared her, a lot.
Her mother already found the concept of soulmates ridiculous, now that she finds out that her daughter Toralei has a soulmate, and not just any soulmate; a human soulmate, She was going to lose her temper.
So Toralei spends all season one trying to avoid Clawdeen (which doesn't work when her mother finds out that Clawdeen has the moon claw necklace), So he ends up having to face Clawdeen and discovers that she's actually not that bad for a human and a wolf. So now their problem is how to tell Clawdeen that they are soulmates and prevent their mother from causing too much damage.
And by the end Clawdeen realizes that Toralei is her soulmate, Toralei no longer has to deal with her mother so they are happy little gays together, the end.
Well, actually it wouldn't be the end but that's the idea.
Also don't think I didn't think about the stories of Frankie, Cleo, Draculaura and the rest of the ghoulsquad, of course I did! But this post is already quite long.

She came, she Came, SHE FINALLY CAME 💕💕💕 IM FREAKING OUT
I'm super excited my Twyla doll finally arrived. This is to avenge my first Twyla doll (RIP). But overall, she looks so stunning in the reboot MH style. Also, I give Mattel bonus points for keeping her glow in the dark eyes like Gen 1. That detail definitely scarred me as a kid when I first found out (Don't ask lol). But anyway, what's your thoughts on the MH Gen 3 doll line as a whole? Me personally I have mixed feelings about most of the design changes but it varies from person to person.
Guess who decided to look at her old posts and now be ashamed of them? That's right! It's me!
Looking back, I still don't like the first basic design of Lagoona and this redesign of mine is not the worst, but claims to have "fixed" the original design? No, little me, you did not "fix" anything.
G3 Lagoons Blue redesign! Because the design of the new Lagoona infuriates me. It sucks. This design basically describes all the problems of the new generation. Everything is too colorful, a bunch of different colors are mixed, the lack of gothic and the meaning of the character is lost. So I decided to fix it. Returned her previous color (her name is Lagoona Blue! Blue! Not Pink!). I added more black and added ideas that I thought were cool. I think that, unlike her friends, Lagoona will be less concerned about fashion, more about comfort and practicality for swimming. She will wear a bathing suit, and over it a bomber jacket and shorts to quickly take off and jump into the water. And Lagoona will not wear much makeup, because makeup tends to be washed off when it comes into contact with water, she will have such a light make-up. That's all.

I think I could have added more lightning elements to their design, but overall I like what I've got.
I like the doll, but not the outfit. It looks ridiculous. Especially in comparison with concept art, the outfit in it looks really like what a pop star would wear. The problem with the final version, as for me, is in the shade of pink, boots and sleeves. Pink is too bright and there is too much of it on accessories, silver boots would look better, and sleeves... They just look ridiculous, okay? And so, this is a normal doll. Waiting for even more new Catty.
I'll probably get eaten for this, but I want to say something.....
I don't like the design of the updated g3 Draculaura!
And before you throw tomatoes at me, I think I'll explain my position. Let's start with the basic g3 Ulla. Although I think that it is the best of the base line (and in other lines, most often she is the best), I don't really like the abundance of pink. I wanted something more dark and daring, like on the prototype. And now the photos with the updated Draculaura and Clawdeen came out (I'm not sure if the Frankie doll shown belongs to the updated base line), and Ulla didn't come to me at all. First: a shade of pink. I don't know about you, but I don't like this pink. And it's banal (as for me) such a shade of pink does not suit Draculaura, she is more suited to the darker and red shades of pink (as on past dolls) . Secondly: hairstyle. I don't like the division into two tails, and also her chic triangular tail (I don't know the exact name), was replaced with some kind of nondescript short bangs. Her face looks strange with such a hairstyle. Third: clothes. It is strangely constructed, it feels like the clothes of g1 Ulla were put on a new one. And I also wonder what kind of cat is with her? Where is Count Fabulous? Well, that's all I wanted to say. Thanks for attention.

Been doing some monster high redesigns lately, I didn't wanna change much for catty tho so I just edited her photo
Added some more color to the boots and committed to the blue! Also made the cats inner ears pink and changed its eyeshadow to blue. COMMIT TO THE ACCENT COLOR PLEASE sorry
And I was really disappointed with the garden mystery series so here's my take on garden nystery Venus<3

Okay, cool! (I nay or may not have read both of your Deuce books in one night) I wanted to request something along the lines of Deuce with a reader who loves pda and is kind of clingy. Maybe it takes place at the beginning of the second movie where they're in the clawditorium. The rest of the group turns around, and they're just kissing yet again. Or you can make up the plot however you like <3

POV: Y/n and Deuce are clingy.
Y/n wouldn’t say she had attachment issues, per say, she wouldn’t say she’s clingy either, especially not when it comes to her boyfriend, Deuce, like her friends seem to suggest. Of course, she can spend time without him around (she does that- reluctantly- every summer), and she can be around him without touching him, and she can go five minutes without kissing him, but, her boyfriend is so ridiculously attractive, so insanely ethereal, so perfectly perfect, so why would she want to?
And no, Draculaura, she’s not addicted to him, she can stop anytime she wants. But why should she? It’s a two-way street after all, and Deuce seems perfectly content with enabling her.
Besides, after an entire summer with only seeing her most perfectest boyfriend a handful of times, rather than the almost-daily hangouts she’d become accustomed to during the past year of school, one couldn’t possibly blame her for being ‘clingy’… Though her friends seemed to try to.
Take, for example, Draculaura’s end of summer party.
Y/n and Deuce had been sat on Draculaura’s couch, Y/n curled up against him, her arms wrapped tightly around his waist, Deuce’s arm wrapped gently against her shoulder whilst he spoke calmly to Heath, every so often he’d look down and place a soft kiss on Y/n’s forehead, and Y/n would adjust herself so she could place a small kiss on his cheek.
Y/n had yet to leave Deuce’s side to talk to any friends, and Deuce, though he was having a conversation with Heath, hadn’t actually made any attempt to leave his ghoulfriend’s side since she’d arrived at the party.
“Are you two going to move from that spot… at all?” Draculaura asked, approaching the two after realising they hadn’t moved.
“Maybe… if a song we like plays.” Y/n murmured.
“You two have the entire school year to be together, we go to a boarding school.”
“Yeah, but during the school year we have to study, there’s not much time to do this.” Y/n pointed out tightening her grip around Deuce out of spite.
“You spent most of last year together.” Draculaura countered, crossing her arms.
“And that was wrong of us, we should’ve been studying.” Y/n hummed, though her voice had no true seriousness to it “Besides, you and I spent most of the summer together.”
Draculaura gave up on trying to convince Y/n of anything for the rest of the party.
At the start of school assembly, Y/n and Deuce weren’t clinging to each other for once, they were sitting calmly side-by-side, listening to the Headmistress speak…
Or, at least that’s what their friends had thought.
The two were sitting behind the rest of their friends, meaning, until they turned around, the two could do pretty much whatever they wanted, throughout the assembly, Y/n made sure at least one part of her body was touching Deuce at all times, which really just meant she had her head on his shoulder and was sitting as close as she possibly could, whilst Deuce was making sure to keep his arm around her shoulder or waist, unless of course one of their friends turned around, in which case they’d quickly separate to prevent hearing their friends complaints or teasing.
Then, when the assembly was almost over, Draculaura turned around to talk to them.
“Y’know I am so proud of you both for not-”
She cut herself off at the sight of Y/n and Deuce kissing, both of whom seemed very happy with themselves.
“-never mind.” Draculaura sighed, turning back around.
After that, the group had collectively decided to just leave Y/n and Deuce alone when it came to the situation of them being clingy with each other.
