Manako & Saitama's Relationship

Dang it!

I can't decide if I want Saitama to be Manako's BFF for the Rest of the Series or have them later on in the Future be in a Romantic Relationship 🤔

I can't decide since Both Options are ADORABLE & CUTE!!!

I mean I could make 2 Timelines were Manako is only friends with Saitama while the other Timeline when Manako is Saitama's Wife!!

AAAAAAHHHHH!!!

Manako & Saitama's Relationship

What are your guys thoughts on it?

Because Manako is so DAMB CUTE & Saitama would be less Depresse since he's not as lonely in the Original Series.

One Punch Man AU Revamped of Manako

Yeah...

I dedicate to rewrite & Delete some stuff later since the Old me had an idea 💡 but I'm gonna Improve it instead.

Since I decided to read 📚 the Manga and i know realized that some of the Timeline and Relationship with the other characters doesn't make sense 😅

Also I kinda made some of them out of character, so I'm fixing that also...

And since they finally decided to show what Color Manako is, I can finally draw her properly 👏 and I need to Fix Manako & Saitama's Hero Costume.

And I'm definitely changing the Backstory so it would makes sense including their abilities & skills the characters has and personality.

The Monster Association Accident

Before the Hospital seen with Saitama

(The conscious dream💭of old memory)

Manako heard a splash. She turned to see two of her gang in the water. Manako’s eyes blew wide.

Because if Manako heard that splash, the stronger monster’s did, too.

She ran forward, stumbling on the steps, readjusting her grip on her pickaxe. The Monster rushed forward too, aiming and kill one of her gang.

Manako tried to tackle him halfway there but a hole 🕳 slide was there and she tripped in since she didn’t notice it. She swore loudly, unable to dodge the sharp rocks, unable to help her teammates. She crashed into a pile of dirt before being swapped away again, then again and again.

She crashed into the ground after several holes she fell into, the sound of shouting and screams filled her ears. She tried to get up, but being thrown around by a freaking tunnels of holes hurts. A lot.

“Oh it seems you survive the hole trap,You’re stronger than I expected, you know that?” a smooth voice said. Manako looked up and see the Mole Monster standing above him.

Manako forced herself to get to her feet. She need to survive, no matter how painful it is.

Plus being abused or tortured for the half of your life taught you how to take a punch and living on in the Monster Association for unknown years and that can teach you how to fight dirty and how to keep fighting even when you’re dead on your feet. Manako knew her surrounding and environment. She knew how to fight to survive.

Manako waited for an attack but dared not move first. This Mole was made of dirt and rocks.

But there wasn’t anything to do when the bombs from the mines blast and rammed into her side, sending her flying. She landed near Foap,The blood that was on the floor stuck to her skin and the dust from the blast clung to her wounds. She tried to get up, but she couldn’t. Her body finally is staying down. What a terrible way to die, on a Monster field trip test gone wrong.

She was finally getting her life in order. She secretly go to school with Saitama, she made her own Bank Account by stealing as much gold as possible, she had support from her gang. She had a reason to live. A reason to keep fighting.

And she was going to die. She knew she shouldn’t have dreamt so big. She will only get killed in the end like any other monster. It’s all that ever happens when she dared to dream.

She vaguely heard something fighting, she was focused on trying to stay awake. How much of the blood that she was lying in was hers? How much of it was her friends? Her arm felt numb, and breathing became a chore.

She wanted to rest, she wanted to sleep.

She wished for freedom.

Manako’s eyes slipped closed without her permission but she welcomed the blackness and the relief of slumber.

————————————————————————

Manako? MANAKO!!

You MONSTER, how dare you hurt her!

We are monsters we are sup-, you bitch!

No-

Nononononono!

Please! No!

Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!

Hurry! Someone grab Manako and Run!

Does anyone have a plan to beat this Mole Monster!

Everyone jump there’s another hole 🕳 trap!

BOOM! crAsH!

.....

Will, she be ok?

We did manage to survive, unlike the other monsters

Sigh that’s Ture

Let’s let her rest we can visit her tomorrow

….

...

..

.

Step tap thump!

So... it seems we have a prodigy, in our hands boss

Good, make sure she lives

And make sure to get rid of any humanity in her we need a good evil monster

Got it boss

(End of Dream Flashback )

————————————————————————

She opened her eyes, panicked. For a moment she was unsure of where she was or what was going on.

Sharp light. White ceiling. White walls. Beeping.

… A hospital?

She’s in a hospital. Why?

She never went to a hospital for her injuries. They tended to be dismissive and rude to Monster like her. She usually ask Saitama to help her patch up or patch up herself and the gang will do it.

Manako takes in a shaky breath. It hurts her lungs to hold. Then she exhales.

Manako body hurts everywhere. And now she remembers why.

She closes her eyes, trying to shake that memory, and that crazy event when she got separated from Saitama in the Mines while Flash tried to help but the phantom feeling of blood sticking to her skin, soaking through Flashy Flash’s clothes. Blood that was hers mixing with his own blood that wasn’t.

The sounds of fighting, the cries of pain, the mocking voice of her old home.

Deep breath. Inhale. Exhale.

Again.

Again.

Manako calms her pounding heart and opens her eyes again. She’s in a shared hospital room, but it seems the 2 hero figures already got themselves checked out.

She slowly sits up. making her chest hurt. She looks around and sees that Saitama was resting his head on her bed sitting on a chair, his chest rising and falling evenly. He looks peaceful, but when he wakes up he’s definitely going to be worried for her well being.

Manako looked down at her arms, remembering her old memories of that Mole Monsters from the Monster Survive Test.

The bandages covered her whole body and it was tinting red with her blood. She kinda look like a mummy covered in bandages, going up against around her mouth. She felt her forehead, finding badges there too.

Speaking of friends, he’s about to wake up.

“Manako! You’re awake!” Saitama said.

Manako’s Training

Manako’s Training

(Kinda wish I drew her better.)

Who’s going to be in this story

Fubuki: Miss Blizzard

Saitama: Caped Baldy

Manako: Bright Light

Zombieman: (Does he even have a real name?)

Isamu: Child Emperor

Harlequinn: King (I’m not sure if that’s actually his real name.)

——————————————————————————

“You’re going to train with Zombieman, King, and Child Emperor?” Miss Blizzard asked with a surprised gasp at lunch the next day. “I didn’t realize all of you were so close!”

“I guess we are.” Manako explained as she shake her bag to mix the Yogos Bits. She opened it to take a few bites as she continued, “I guess they really liked my skills and wanted me to train them?”

(This is what she is eating)

https://www.google.com/search?q=yogos+bits&client=safari&hl=en&prmd=sinv&sxsrf=ALeKk020Al38NdqU-gm0rdJeyCsURktIkw:1623196287230&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiQ-eawnYnxAhV8ETQIHXboAm8Q_AUIFSgC&biw=414&bih=715&dpr=2

“Wait, you’re training them?” Saitama sat forward more.

Manako nodded. “I was surprised too!”

“King is the strongest hero in the world.” Miss Blizzard said, tapping her fingers against the table with a curious frown. “What could you have teach him?, he can beat up monsters already.”

Manako tried to not get offended by that. It wasn’t like Miss Blizzard knew King’s secret or her true skill. She had only shown off a bit of it in the test. “We’re just practicing agility movements right now. It’s our second training session together.” She took another bite of her snack and chewed before swallowing and saying, “You’re welcome to join if you want. But I don’t know if you’ll be interested to join in on the training and because of your super powers that me and Saitama don’t have.”

“Oh I see where your coming from?” Saitama asked.

Manako held up her hands with a tentative smile. “Miss Blizzard you’ll just have to see it your self.”

“I definitely want to see this!” Miss Blizzard excitedly nodded. “I wanna see Kings moves up close and yours as well! Maybe I’ll learn something new!”

“I will join” Saitama agreed. “I want to see how far they came from your training!”

Manako chewed her snack and said nothing. They would see what she meant when they get there.

—————-—————-—————-—————-————

Time Skip

—————-—————-—————-—————-————

“Oh are they here to train with us?” Zombieman asked as Saitama and Miss Blizzard followed Manako and walk towards the training grounds. Zombieman curiously look at them like he was some kind of detective. “Did you invited yourself?”

“Manako did.” Miss Blizzard said. “Plus Saitama wanted to see how fare you came with Manako’s training.”

“And how Miss Blizzard wanted to observe you guys especially King.” Saitama cut her off as he tugged on his belt to straighten it. Both Miss Blizzard and Saitama stood out what with the two of them still in the Hero Outfit while both Zombieman, Child Emperor and King were in their gym uniforms.

Manako just sent Zombieman a look without saying anything as they approached the waiting Child Emperor and King. Both of the boys appeared a little surprised to see their extra guests. They were all once again back at the training grounds.

“Are you joining us today?” Child Emperor called with a wave and a grin to their coworkers/heroes.

“Just observing.” Miss Blizzard crossed her arms as she looked over her coworkers. “We heard from Manako that she was training you and we were quite curious.”

“Plus I always love watching Manako move when we’re younger!” Saitama added with a bright, delighted smile. Manako felt her cheeks heat up and had to look away. ZombieMan moved past her with a smile and joined Child Emperor and King to face Manako. Manako looked up to see him pulling on some gloves. He had included some knee pads. Manako approved. ZombieMan just added knee pads on his hero outfit recently, so he would need to get used to moving with those on him.

“Um…” Manako glanced around at all of her friends/coworkers and shifted awkwardly, unsure of how to start. She tried, “King... Have you also been practicing?”

“When I could.” King said with a nod.

“Good.”

“We’re moving onto part two, right?” Child Emperor , excitedly asked while King busied himself with stretching. ZombieMan and Child Emperor must have already stretched while Manako had been eating with Saitama and Miss Blizzard during lunch.

“Part two?” Miss Blizzard questioned.

Manako didn’t need to stretch. She pulled on his own pair of gloves as she spoke, “I’ll explain depending on if they can prove they’re ready.” She grin with pride. “You said all of you have practiced? Then show me.” What you got!, Manako immediately darted towards one of the rock towers and began her climbing. This would really show if they had the skills necessary.

Manako was halfway up the rock when she saw ZombieMan, Child Emperor, and King making their way up at a slower pace but definitely with much more confidence than their first lesson. They really were getting the hang of it, she realized, if their bodies were adjusting to climbing even something new. She didn’t have time to pause as he braced her feet and then threw himself over to the nearest pillar. This one was a bit farther away on the left. She didn’t doubt they could make it, though.

“Whoa!!” Saitama yelled with awe as Manako focused on climbing the rest of the way. She heard ZombieMan let out a curse, and then there was the telltale sound of rock crumbling.

“Careful, ZombieMan!” Child Emperor called.

“I’ve got it.” ZombieMan responded. Manako didn’t look back as she pushed herself up with extra strength to grab onto the top ledge and haul herself over it. She felt exhilarated much like he always did after climbing so far. She loved the sensation of standing so far up and knowing she got their by her own power and not from The Monsters Association. She took the time to examine how the others were doing.

ZombieMan was the farthest ahead, but that didn’t surprise Manako since he’s good at analyzing. Child Emperor had grasped onto the point of part one of training faster than the others had. King was great with his own instincts and he was allowing them to lead him thank goodness he took her advice. He was still significantly slower than Manako and still had to occasionally test his footholds, but unlike last time he didn’t hesitate as he threw himself across the gap to the second rock. He recognized that he didn’t need to judge the power behind his jump and knew it was better to slam bodily against the rock than to risk undershooting it. Manako couldn’t help but be very proud of King on had far he came from the first time. (Since you know he actually took Saitama’s credit and somehow became a hero by accident since he has extreme luck by his side.)

Child Emperor had no trouble with the gap this time. After King had shown them the way to go about it, ZombieMan had no worry with hitting the stone. His body was used to handling plenty of hits and stabs or being rip apart for most of his life. His grip hold tight while he wrapped his legs around the stone and clenched. He was using everything he had and succeeded in gaining him valuable time to find a grip with his stronger hands.

But Child Emperor second jump didn’t go so well, because he had slipped down a little since his weaker grip strength had a setback. Manako could see where he didn’t trust himself and hesitated on his jump. Saitama and Miss Blizzard made shocked noises, clearly concerned considering how far the fall was, but Child Emperor’s focus sharpened and he caught a bit of the rock at the last moment. He slammed his foot hard and created his own foothold against the softer stone. It was just sturdy enough that he could thrust himself upwards to continue his training. (Like dang this kid is determine to be a good hero like ZombieMan.)

All three of them were panting as they made it to the top and stood with Manako overlooking everything. Child Emperor let out a whoop of victory. “Look at that view! Oh hey we are really high up!”

“You did great!” Manako praised, honestly thrilled for them. It was amazing watching how people with a history of training achieved this type of trial(because you know, we have YouTube and Google to learn where Parkour came from). Manako could remember how she and the other Monsters had done on their first few tries. It hadn’t been nearly as dangerous or as easy as her friends tries.

“You did amazing kid, but dang you almost gave me a heart attack.” ZombieMan ended up scolding Child Emperor as he checked his foot.

“I think I can continue,” Child Emperor responded, standing up.

“Is your foot okay?” Manako asked.

“I’m fine.” Child Emperor seemed distracted with himself. Manako knew to let it go.

Manako eye danced around the rocks and made quick evaluations. “Your definitely ready for part two. Follow me back down.”

“Without powers and gadgets, right?” King asked with a grin. Manako nodded.

Manako’s Training

“Yup!” The climbing down part could be done in many ways. Manako could show off some more of her moves, but Manako knew she would be able to do that soon enough. She had trained for far too long and had too high of expectations to even dumb himself down for her friends to make the training easier.

Manako climbing down normally with the others following after her. She totally noticed that Child Emperor’s foot was a bit injured, but it didn’t stop him. Manako had to dodge a bit of little spray rocks from crumbling down when one boy or the others would slip while figuring out how to climb down. It made Manako laugh a little because they had been so focused on climbing up that they hadn’t learned how to get down.

They all made it down without anymore injuries and met up with Miss Blizzard and Saitama as they ran up to join them. “That was actually very impressive!” Miss Blizzard motioned widely in her excitement. “None of you used your powers or gadgets for that? I can’t believe you could do all of that on your own!” (Because you know she as freaking Psychokinesis why the heck not would she not use it.)

“It took a lot of cut up hands and bruises everywhere.” Child Emperor admitted with a laugh. “You should’ve seen the first time we tried this!”

“I understand what you meant now, Manako. This certainly does not look like something one can achieve without practice.” Miss Blizzard was frowning and gazing up at the rocks. “What is the purpose of this, though?”

“Parkour!” Child Emperor responded.

“Speed and agility. Reaction time.” ZombieMan added.

King crossed his arms. “It’s to get stronger!”

(Oooh sh*t that’s sounds really scary coming from King of all people, since they don’t know about his secret.)

“I should definitely join you guy’s” Miss Blizzard decided, looking determined. “Can you teach me as well Manako?”

“I’m just gonna watch as usual” Saitama added.

“Your gonna have to wait your turns” ZombieMan said. Manako gave them a sheepish smile as ZombieMan looked at her. “Manako can you please get started with part two. Your friends are just tag-alongs today they can join us later. We’re the ones training.”

“He’s right.” King agreed. “I want to move on.”

Miss Blizzard look at Manako questionably . “Can’t we do it at the same time?”

“Sorry, Miss Blizzard ” Manako scratched her head. “Part two requires my attention.” She thought for a moment. Assistance to her friends in the form of a next time. But don’t she have time to train her friends later? The need to check my schedule. But she really kind of liked helping out his friends. It was rather thrilling to see them achieve a goal. She didn’t mind helping Miss Blizzard as well. Besides if it helped them in their hero careers, then it was a relief for Manako.

“Next time, okay?” She told them. Manako then put her hands on her hips and turned to face King, ZombieMan, and Child Emperor. “Okay, so part two! Think of this like a game of Tag mix with hide and go seek. The rules are simple:” she held up his fingers as he listed each rule, “No gadgets No supper powers. Everything is fair game. All you needs to do is touch me once with your hands and you win. It has to be a proper tag, though. Brushing clothes or hair doesn't count.”

“So we’re on a team.” King stated. “3 versus 1.”

Manako loved when it was summarized like that. He made it sound like it was so easy. Manako would absolutely not go easy on them. “Plus it’s fun to watch them struggle.”

“Why can’t we use gadgets or supper powers though?” Child Emperor suddenly asked, surprising Manako with that question.

“What would be the point of training like this if we’re just going to use our powers as handy cap tools?” King said blatantly.

“He has a point, kid.” ZombieMan agreed. “It would be too easy for us considering your smart uses of your gadgets and King’s power. Me and Manako would be at a disadvantage.” Manako bit her tongue because she was sure she could still avoid being tagged even if Child Emperor and ZombieMan used their powers or gadgets. However it would definitely be a challenge between the three of them. It would certainly be unfair for King, though.

“It’s simple, really.” Manako examined the tips of his gloves in an unconscious movement to check her scars even though she didn’t need to. She dropped her hand again and regarded them all seriously. “You guys are here because you wanted to learn something from me. I’ve only use my powers during the year I’ve been stuck in The Monsters Association What could I possibly teach you about your powers or gadgets that you haven’t learned since you have freedom in your life? Without any fear for your life or something your ok with failing at.

None of his friends responded to that, but Manako spotted Saitama’s eyes regarding her with suspicion. Manako couldn’t help her small disappointment that this had to be pointed out to them. She thought it was pretty obvious, after all. Although she didn’t tell her life story either to them or anyone else at that matter. She could think of one or two things that she could possibly teach them about their powers or gadgets that they have missed.

“And that’s why we have YouTube and Google for: to learn how to use our powers or to improve gadgets better.” Manako let out a huff of a laugh. “I’m not sure I can teach you guys that better than yourself.”

“That’s actually a very good point” Child Emperor said, tucking his arms behind his head.

“This kind of training is to show you how far you can push your own limits.” Manako added as her gaze drifted to the sky with a frown. “All your lives you’ve decided to train your powers or learn how to make gadgets. I know you all have also trained your bodies or brain muscles in preparation for getting into The Hero Association This is obvious just by looking at you or history.” She dropped her gaze to look at each of her friends. They were all watching her as if enraptured. “But all of your training and skills you learned is probably just to help your powers to improve and gadgets to use as your advantage. Everything about you guys is about making sure your body can keep up with your powers while for the kid it’s about gadgets. Your body and brain is merely a support item.”

Manako’s gaze darkened as she remembered her own training. The way her body had screamed on how she broken herself to pieces so that she could survive. The way she had cried bitter and terrified tears not knowing if she had screwed up enough that she would be the next monster to never return to training. Not knowing why she was training in the first place but believing the strong monsters when they told them that they would not kill her if she succeeded in his training. How she had burned with envy towards anyone who had a better life then her. How she knew that her training would've been so much easier if she had some type of gay to rely on. She would've taken anything. But she’d only had her body to rely on since she didn’t discover her powers yet at that time.

“Take it from someone who was born a Monster for a majority of her life when I say that your body is not a support item. It is your main weapon. Sometimes it will be your only weapon. What if you run into a situation where you can't use your powers? There are people who won’t even give you a chance to use your gadgets. There are people who are amune to your powers and it will be absolutely useless against them.” Her throat tightened, “...There are people out there that can take away or destroy your gadgets.” She swallowed back the tightness and her voice strengthened again as she straightened. “At those times, what will protect you? Will you just run? What do you do when you can’t flee? You will be person or monster. In a life-or-death situation, are you confident that you will be able to help yourself, help anyone else? Sure, you’ll know how to fight... but do you know how to survive without your powers or gadgets?”

Manako turned away from them and pressed her head to the stone well. She could still hear the sounds of bones crunching. The screams of young monsters as they ran for their lives and were brought down because they weren’t fast or skilled enough. Stronger monsters laughing as there pain and fears heartlessly hunted Manako while random humans from different ages will be there just for fun and get killed in the end smelling the blood pouring out quickly, Her fingers dug into the clothes.

She still remember her time with her gang there, trying to help each other in secret to not show weakness, while planning to get the heck out of there while secretly going to school with Saitama while Aden cover up for her to befriend her first human for a brighter future. Intell that faithful day...

Her breath was coming a bit harder. She had to blink rapidly to bring herself back to the present and away from that time. The harsh sunlight startled her because she half-expected to be back in the darkness. The lack of sound from her friends had her glancing back at them with wide eyes, terrified that she had exposed her past too much when she had been lost in the past.

Her friends only stared at her back without a word. ZombieMan lowered his eyes with a frown as he thought. Saitama’s fists were clenched so tightly that Manako could see his arms shaking. His face was pale and his eyes were unreadable for Manako. Child Emperor , King, and Miss Blizzard all looked grim as his words reached them and they understood. Saitama was biting his lip and his eyebrows were pulled together with worry. Manako wondered if she should have explain it definitely.

Manako had to force a smile onto her face, trying to lighten the mood and cover for the slip of her mask. “So that’s why I don’t want you to use your powers or gadgets.” She laughed and felt how it echoed hollowly through her heat. It sounded real enough as she gave them all an sad smile as a way of apologizing for getting too dark. “I just want to make sure your bodies are getting stronger....”

“Manako…” ZombieMan glanced at his friends and then back to Manako. He opened his mouth like he wanted to say something important, and Manako felt her chest constrict with fear. She waited to be called out. “You’re... Yes, you’re absolutely right! Our bodies should be trained with the intention of mastering them before our powers or gadgets! A true hero should know how his or her body works without fail!”

“Right!” Child Emperor agreed stretching his arm. He grabbed his water bottle in determination. “I want to improve with you guys so we can help more people in the future! Especially if my gadgets ends up being useless!”

Miss Blizzard and Saitama said nothing. Saitama had lowered his head so Manako could no longer read his face. Manako's heart was racing in her chest with the knowledge that she had let more information to Saitama. It’s not like Saitama didn’t know what Manako been through in the past, she remembered everything they have done to her at that time with her monsters classmates, but since Manako never told Saitama what she did in The Monster Association, This was Manako confessing to something she had experienced for himself. Her fear and experience was in details. She hope that Saitama doesn’t feel even worse since he wasn’t strong enough to protect her at that time.

Manako wasn’t sure she was courageous enough to ask later. She had to push it aside as she finally gave a shaky smile and asked, “Are you guys ready for part two now?”

The End

OPM: Manako had a talk with Geno

First Meeting.

“Master! watch out there’s a Monster!”

Pull out his freaking Hand Laster Gun!

“Ahhhhh! Saitama Help!”

“Oi Oi! Geno No! that’s my friend and Sidekick!

Manako runs up to Saitama and hide behind his leg

“Holly Cow! Saitama your disciple is Scary!, No wonder why your his teacher!”

Geno put down his arm and apologize quickly for the missunderstanding

“Sorry Master it’s won’t happen again!

“You better be!, because I’m going to give you some ground rules first if you want to stay as my disciple!

Rule 1: If you see monsters living in my impartment or right next to the building they are under my protection.

Rule 2: If you see Monsters with Saitama&Manako Logo on them or have our citizen Card they are safe and be left alone but if they are in danger save them.

Rule 3: If a Monster don’t have our Logo on them in Z-City Ghost Town and said they are not evil make sure they are not lying or just bring them to Manako or me we will know what to do, but most of the Monsters in the Monster Association don’t know we exist or the civilians monsters so it will barely happen since we only have a few of them living here. Also the part that society doesn’t know their existence too.

Rule 3: If you came into our home please clean up your own mess or help us clean up.

Rule 4: If you see a Hero or a Monster who is trying to kill the Monster Civilians go and stop them right away since the Hero doesn’t know any better but if it was a monster kill then since we don’t want the Monsters Association to know their existence

“That’s pretty much it, but we will put more rules later on if something too happen in Z-City.”

“Do you understand these Rules Geno?,Do you have any question?”

“No Master, I understand the rules.”

“Phew that’s good,”

Time Skip Into the future when they have a talk before the Hero Meeting and the Alliances Invasion.

Why would I believe anything you say? You don't understand anything, you're just a Monster!." Geno argued. Manako grab down his street clothes to Manako's eye level.

"Look here; I've seen many worse things than you have. I use to be apart of The Monsters Association, watched my aunt kill herself, worked with my gang who was forced to swallow a bomb so they can laugh at us.

I've lost everything time and again and again. I'm not going around killing people for the sake of destroying humanity and heroes when I thought it was the right thing to do in the past.

Revenge doesn't fucking help!. You know that just as well as I do. You know that if you go any further down the path you've chosen it'll only end up with you dead, in the hands of whatever hidden monster or robot investigation you land up in and they will try to kill you.

Sure you lost your family, but neither do half of the people who live in this new generation of evil monsters and a few ignorant heroes. In a few weeks I might be forced to join the Monsters Association or they just want to murder me for betraying my own kind. Spare Dr. Kuseno and your future. It's not worth it."

Manako look at Geno in pain in her eyes understanding where Geno is coming from with his perspective, Geno didn't say any another words after that incident.

Time Skip when he got a call for the hero meeting

Genos realises how far he's come when he witnesses Sweet Mask dispatch a group of alien prisoners without mercy and remarks how similarly hard-hearted he used to be himself, while Manako was with Saitama. Thank goodness she wasn’t here to see that or Saitama in that matter.

Saitama moderating influence on Genos, helps him to be calmer and take a more measured approach to his pursuit of justice and power.

While Manako caring and loving influence helps Geno to strengthen his relationships and develop meaningful emotional connections with others. And shows how much care to those around him, and he finally allowing himself to live happier and more complete very slowly each day.

Because you know, Genos only fully respects three people Saitama, Dr. Kuseno and Manako also being nice to the Monster Civilians of course.

He extends professional respect to those who demonstrate genuine expertise, like Bang and Bomb, and tolerates people who Saitama willingly spends time with, like King.

He is rather disrespectful to almost anyone else, especially those who attempt to interrupt, or pester Saitama or Manako. Whenever Bang or Fubuki command him/her or attempt to recruit Saitama/Manako, Genos will cut them off and tell them to get to the point. He will defend his position as Saitama's disciple while Manako is his second teacher, actively discouraging Saitama from letting other people get too close while Manako only steps in if needen in certain situations.

This hostile behavior does not only extend to those who offend Saitama and Manako, but Dr. Kuseno as well. Genos has even called out Saitama when he called Dr. Kuseno an old man, but he immediately apologized when his master told him to give it a rest. He also does not respect the authority of the Hero Association very much, telling Sitch that even though he wasn't part of the main task force team to invade the Monster Association that he would have gone anyway, and states that none of his decisions have anything to do with the Hero Association.

Manako makes little secret codes or puzzles for Geno to do for his homework assignments or task for Geno sometimes so he can learn something out of it and grow into a better person and learn important lesson and good advice.

Manako’s PTSD: The Hero Training Test: 2/2

Manako’s PTSD: The Hero Training Test: 2/2

ZombieMan didn’t know why, but she got the distinct impression that the monster was apologizing for something more than her breakdown. Regardless, he wasn’t about to let his coworkers see her like this, so he took an alternate route to Doctors office.

“Oh dear.” She said the moment she saw ZombieMan with an injured monster passed out in his arms. The monster had a death grip on him even though she’s asleep.

“Testing accident ended up triggering some sort of flashback.” ZombieMan explained. “She didn’t recognize me, and asked if her gang is ok.”

She thinks that I was Mikey and asked if Foapy,MooMoo And Vend was ok.

“Strange…” Her brows furrowed before she turned to tend to his injuries. Manako was barely able to tear the monsters from his arms, and when he did, the she whimpered lightly.

“Mmm She seems very attached to who ever is making her feel safe.” “That’s probably because Saitama always has Bright Light in his pouch.”

“I have to inform the other minister about this development.” He sighed. “Call me when she wakes up. If she’s still in the flashback, I should be able to bring her out of it unless Caped Boldi is here.”

“Right. Thank you for the heads up.”

With that, ZombieMan closed the door behind him. Ugh, today was mess up already. He shook his head. He still had to deal with SweetMask. But first, he needed to inform the other Staff of the now obvious PTSD that Manako had. Ask how Saitama deal with her all the time.

He sent off a quick text to his coworkers. Luckily, it was most everyone’s free period, so Silver Fang, Agoni, the Bearded Workers, The Branch Operator, Bespectacled Workers and Console Operator were all in the Staff Room. He’d have to inform Sekingar of the situation later.

“ZombieMan ? What’s wrong, I thought you were observing the heroes?” Sekingar eyes flashed in concern when he noted the dust and blood on his outfit.

“There was an incident. SweetMask disobeyed a direct order and used an attack of lethal force on Manako.” The room stiffened. “She’s fine. Somehow Bright Light managed to dodge the collapsing building , but her leg got hit pretty badly. She’s in the Doctors Office, now. But the attack triggered a flashback. I was only barely able to pull her out of it.”

“A flashback?” Silver Fang asked in concern.

“She was talking about hearing ‘Mobs’ nearby, and her eyes were tracking invisible enemies. Bright Light was so quiet I almost didn’t find her. But she seemed to recognize me as someone else.” His brows knitted together in concern.

“Isn’t that a good thing?” Sekingar asked.

“That’s the thing. She called me ‘Mikey’, and only reacted when I called her by her given name.”

“That’s… strange.” Agoni conceded.

“She also asked about ‘Foap’, ‘MooMoo’, and Vent’.” ZombieMan looked at Silver Fang and Sekingar, She came back to herself before she passed out, but if anything happens again and I’m not around, I think you two could manage to pull her out of a flashback if Saitama is not around, also maybe King too but he’s outside with the other heroes.”

“That’s actually very concerning, having to have Bright Light call me by her friends name.”Unknown scratched her head.

“Do you two know her outside of Hero Work?” Silver Fang asked.

“Yes, we befriended each other after I helped her down from a tree.”

(Manako was being bullied and got hang by a tree, while Child Emperor ask ZombieMan for help.)

“I think we should all keep a closer eye on her. Any idea what specifically triggered it?” Staff A asked.

“Ah… maybe I can answer that question.” TG said, coming into the room. ZombieMan glanced at the clock—it was already the end of the day. “Before the start of the match Bright Light came up to me and confessed that she had bad reactions to crashes and loud noises. I assumed Bright Light was uncomfortable, and said that she was going to talk to Mike or Saitama at the end of the week about it. She wanted to switch partners, but…”

“But you made her face SweetMask anyways.” Silver Fang pinched the bridge of his nose.

“How irresponsible.” Agoni tutted. “Didn’t you read the Hero’s Handbook?”

“Handbook?” TG questioned, causing the entire room to groan.

“Here.” Zekingar chucked the handbook almost hitting his face. “Certain staffs or Ministers is required to have that memorized before even setting foot in a Hero Training Test Room or some certain kind of Office .” He crossed his arms.

“Page twenty-five talks about what to do when a Hero who’s suspected of having a traumatic experience in the past confesses a possible trigger.” Zekingar stated dryly, sending TG a mild glare of his own. “In short, you excuse a hero from the situation that could re-traumatize them, and inform their homeroom coworkers privately before informing the rest of the staff.”

“In this case, you would’ve given her a different opponent and kept a closer eye on him while she observed SweetMask’s fight.” Silver Fang stepped in. “Immediately after the test, you would’ve informed me or someone else of the situation, before I informed the rest of the staff to prevent re-traumatizing her.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah. Oh.” ZombieMan sighed. “You can apologize to Bright Light later after Miss.Doctor and Saitama have cleared her. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a rebellious brat to discipline.” He paused in the doorway. “Silver Fang , I think you or Zekingar should go see if Bright Light is okay. She’ll probably respond better to you two than anyone else right now.” He sent them meaningful looks and the two smiled.

“I’ll go. The Little monster is growing on me.” Silver Fang grinned, heading out the door, closing it behind him with a soft click.

“I’ll inform King” Silver Fang sighed.

“Thank you.”

Time Skip

ZombieMan sighed as he watched SweetMask leave the office. His punishment was light, in Agoni’s opinion, but there wasn’t much they could do for a 1 S Class Hero. So he’d be on restriction for 3 weeks. Allowed to participate in his concert activities while attending Spas when ever he likes.

He looked up when the door opened. Child Emperor had wanted to speak with Manako regarding the incident, and had Flashy Flash and Silver Fang accompany him up to the office. He was bandaged, and had a light scratches, but looked fine otherwise. He looked a little tired, but that was probably from the stress of the crumbling building while Flashy Flash tried to save both of their lives.

“You feeling better?” ZombieMan asked, and the monster nodded. He didn’t miss the way kid relaxed when he saw Manako sitting there. The boy was unusually attached to Bright Light, and once of his life he couldn’t figure out why.

“Welcome, Child Emperor. Please have a seat.” ZombieMan motioned, and Silver Fang stood to leave.

“A-actually, You three can stay if you want?” Bright Light spoke up, and Flashy Flash sat back down. He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t curious. He saw the expression mirrored on the other two heroes’ faces.

“I understand that you had quite the experience today. I wanted to apologize for you getting hurt.” ZombieMan said.

“Oh, that’s not your fault. SweetMask’s always has a strong hate towards Monsters off handedly. “I’d have to be more careful if I’d had new who I was sparing, but that’s my fault for not doing my research.”

ZombieMan stared. This monster is surprisingly mature.

“Either way,” Silver Fang, handing a cup of tea to the monster, who took it gratefully. “I’d like to know what exactly triggered your flashback earlier. To prevent any future setbacks, and to keep you on the right track, you need to inform us of any major trauma in your past.”

“W-wait… you mean I’m not getting kicked out of the Hero Association?” She blinked in shock.

Child Emperor startled. “Of course you aren’t.” He stated. “Bright Light, nine out of ten heroes have PTSD or something similar. It comes with the job. To disqualify a hero hopeful for something you’ll likely get anyways is illogical. But we can help you with it before Saitama picks you up.”

She relaxed substantially, and Flashy Flash wondered if that had been weighing on her this entire time. Was she worried about Saitama getting worried?

“I’m sorry. I just…”

“It’s okay, Bright Light . We’re here to help you.” Silver Fang spoke up, and Bright Light sent him a small gentle smile. There was a tinge of sorrow there, though, and he noticed that Manako’s hands are shaking grasping her outfit, like she’s trying to not feel uncomfortable or Nervous.

“I… Part of it is collapsing buildings that reminds me of collapsing caves sometimes. And the smell of decaying bodies… and unfortunately, the burning smell of used TNT 🧨 and whatever else was in a cave mines happened to smell similar enough to, um… well… a building or loud noises and screams but that barely triggers me sometimes.”

Dead bodies?! Child Emperor stiffened, along with the other heroes. What kind of situation had this Monster been through? As far as he knew, The Monster Association must have mess up Manako a lot…, and also the part that it’s hard to find good information or records indicating anything about Monster Association.

Though it was possible that something had happened during that time where the whole world didn’t know about the monsters existed and then no one bothered to document it due to her being a Monster status in the current society. As much as Silver Fang hated it, some people just didn’t care about the civilians monsters who was not part of the evil Monster Association. Also the part that 3/100 monsters are evil instead of good ones like Manako, good monsters barely exist.

“Mostly, the biggest thing is silent or being alone when I don’t feel safe.” She spoke quietly, and Silver Fang noticed it now. He shifted in his seat. He did that in Hero Meeting, too. The monster was always making some kind of small, quiet noise. “The silence with the following creepy sounds or threatening sound are the worst. They tend to scare me or send me into…”

“Flashbacks.” ZombieMan finished for her.

“Yeah. So you saw that?” She winced.

“Yes. Nobody else did, But you did call me Mikey thought.” Manako flinched lightly.

“I-I’m sorry, sir. I meant no offense.”

“I’m not offended, just curious.”

The look on the Manako’s face told him that she was embarrassed, and ashamed. But her eyes told Silver Fang a different story. Grief, regret, anger, loss. The emotions were overwhelming and Flashy Flash looked away, feeling like he was violating some part of the monster privacy just by reading Manako’s eyes. It’s not a open book 📖 but he did catch a few things from that look.

“Can you explain what kind of experience brought on this trauma?” ZombieMan asked gently.

“I…” The monster looked out of the window beside Child Emperor for a moment, and ZombieMan was briefly afraid that she’d fallen into another flashback. “I lost some humans or Monsters very dear to me. It when the Monsters Associated found out that I was being friends on the enemies side… there was this terrible silence afterwards…” She gently touched her right arm. “I’ll never forget that screams. I had to choose to ditch the plans or continue plan B since she wanted to distract the others, but…” Manakos hand clenched, and ZombieMan knew what had happened. Manako had been forced to choose between two options that were precious to her. Likely, if Manako had stayed and ditch plan B and try to help the other, all of her gang would be dead. This Monster was way too young to have an experience like that. To have to make that kind of choice…

Child Emperor looked ready to cry, and Silver Fang looked heartbroken. Even Flashy Flash looked mildly disturbed, though he quickly masked it before Manako could notice.

At the very least, Bright Light already had what it took to be a Hero/Sidekick , of that ZombieMan was now certain. Not many people could even make that kind of choice. Flashy Flash took a moment to digest this information.

“Thank you for telling us, Bright Light.

Are you getting help for your trauma at least?”

“I was going to go visit them in the end of the week, after the test.”

“Good, you’ll start those meetings tomorrow during your free time, then.” ZombieMan smiled. “Now, on to the topic originally scheduled for today—the Hero Test.” Manako relaxed almost completely.

If Silver Fang hadn’t seen how tense she was a minute ago, he wouldn’t have suspected anything. It was like she flipped a switch. Manako was way too good at hiding trauma. Looked like the staff needed to up their game.

Before he can say anything else someone Knocked the door 🚪.

“Can I come in? I’m here to take my friend home.”

“Yay! Saitama your back!

Manako ran up and jump to hugged 🫂 Saitama in happiness.

“It’s nice to see you again Saitama.” Silver Fang said in relief.

“Bye everyone!”

Saitama put Manako in his pouch and left with a wave 👋.

....

“I wanted to know how did Bright Light got that Smoke Screen Bomb.” ZombieMan said in disappointment.

The End

Manako’s PTSD: The Hero Training Test: 1/2

Manako’s PTSD: The Hero Training Test: 1/2

Remember all the fan-made fiction of Saitama and Manako is not in order so good luck with that.

“Hey Saitama do you want to come to Hero Training with me?”

“Nay I’m good, if they give you any trouble call me ok.”

“Ok, bye Saitama, I love you~”

“Love you too Manako.”

Manako hugged Saitama before she went out

Time Skip

Slowly, the Metting Room started to trickle in, and a few attempted to make small talk with the other heroes. She sighed when she realized that the minister is was going to be late.

“Hey, Manako!” Child Emperor grinned. “You’re the one my friend talked about, right? ZombieMan is his username!!”

“Yeah.” Manako smiled softly. “My Username name is FlashLight.” She explained. “He told me to keep a lookout for you. Sorry it took so long. I’m kind of socially awkward.”

“That’s fine, ZombieMan is, too.” Child Emperor grinned. “Is it ok if I ask you some questions, Manako?”

“So, Manako!” The Green hair girl, leaned towards her, cutting off whatever Child Emperor was going to ask. “I have to ask. What’s your Powers?!”

“My… Powers?” Manako blinked. Didn’t they…? Oh. She didn’t tell them. She opened her mouth to affirm that her powers is a literal flashlight when Sweet Mask decided to be an ass and do it for her.

“BL?! Ha! That little Monster’s power is literally a flashlight. She’s basically useless. I have no idea how the fuck she managed to get into A Class.”

“Flashlight?” Child Emperor echoed, confused.

“Gee, thanks a lot.” Manako threw SweetMask a tired glare, startling the blond. “But yeah, I’m basically a Flashlight. I still managed to become a hero same as the rest of you. So doubt me if you want, but just know that underestimating me will not end well for you.” There was a glint in her eye that made the heroes falter.

“I think it’s so cool! A Monster and you still got in?!, you’re incredible!” Child Emperor grinned, taking Manako aback.

“Um… what?” She blinked. She’d been so ready for the teasing and discrimination, already having built the wall around herself in preparation… but… what?

“Yeah!” Dark Shine grinned. Watchdog gave her a thumbs up.

“I think you’re very brave and definitely someone I wouldn’t underestimate on the battlefield. If you could take down those monsters while saving civilians , then you must be a force to be reckoned with.” Metal Bat.

“Though I gotta ask, how did you beat them?!” Child Emperor was literally bouncing in his seat.

Before anyone could say anything else, The Minister strode in, making Manako stiffen. Oh Phew it’s just the Tester guy or TG for short.

( I have no idea what’s the staff’s name is so the random mister guy is going to be the Hero Tester.)

After the TG explain the rules Manako smirked. This was going to be fun.

Flash Forward

Okay, scratch that. This was going to suck. Test Guy had put her up against SweetMask of all people. Manako didn’t know how, but she had a feeling that it was either on purpose, or a ‘unlucky accident’. Either way, her TG looked happy with the matchup. She supposed that Tester Guy simply thought that the two were friends since they went to same zones to help a bunch of random civilians at at that time, but…

Manako was not an idiot. She knew he had weak points and faults just like everyone else. He was just better at hiding them. Can’t look at something ugly—specifically that monster who easily beat up Sweet Mask and the roof started collapsing—and the important sparkles that came out of him? But there is one problem SweetMask has a strong hate towards monsters thereafter was something that could easily pull her into a flashback. (She hated sudden loud noises, but explosions were the worst. She blamed childhood trauma.) She knew this, which is why he tried his best to stay away from SweetMask whenever possible.

That’s why she always stay close to Saitama, she always feels safe around her BFF and Geno since most of the time she just hang in Saitama’s Pouch.

“TG?” Manako asked quietly, making sure none of her heroes would overhear. “I was wondering if I could switch opponents. I know that normally this isn’t allowed, but I have… bad reactions to certain noises, and was going to talk to Mike about working around it at the end of this week.” Manako was trying to be mature about this. She really was.

(Mike is a made up Monster Character in this universe.)

After all, she knew, logically, that this fear of hers is extremely dangerous in the field of heroism. However, that’s what Mike, the counselor, was for. He’d help Manako work through them—even if she didn’t want to talk about anything to the Ant Monster—and then Manako would be cleared to do hero work in those situations.

She was waiting until the end of the week because she knew it could pose the risk of her safety when she go out with one of Saitama’s Hero Work Trip Days, which she does not want Saitama to worry.

TG just smiled down at her. “I understand, Manako, but you cannot always choose what powers your enemies have. Even if it makes you uncomfortable, I ask that you still bear with the exercise. If things start getting out of hand, I’ll stop it.”

He isn’t taking me seriously. Manako sighed. “If that’s your final decision that’s fine by me.” I am in huge trouble!

Okay, so maybe Manako was being a little harsh. But she felt somewhat unfair and considering that the Monster Association. Tried to kill her twice. And yeah, she understood why he’d pared her with SweetMask, and even mostly understand why he thought it’s a good idea, but Monako was still bitter about the whole thing. And considering all that she’d been through, she felt that the minister chose the wrong person to do the test.

When the match started, Manako took a deep steadying breath. “Child Emperor.” The boy looked at her. “SweetMask will come after me. I’ll distract him to keep him in bay. Take this,” she passed him a small canister, “It’s a smokescreen.” He said. “Try to use it on Flashy Flash speed against him.”

“Right!” Child Emperor grinned, taking it from Manako with a smile.

“GO!”

Like a flash, Manako and Child Emperor bolted into the city’s building. As expected, SweetMask met them on the second floor, heading them off.

Manako motioned for Child Emperor to hide as he drew SweetMask attention. “Why do you hate monsters so much SweetMask?, What have I ever done to you?”

“Shut the hell up you Monsters! Why are you in the Hero Association? Are you here to spy on everyone?!”

“That’s what’s got you so mad?” Manako sighed, as she saw Child Emperor sneak up the stairs from the corner of his eye. “SweetMask. This is obviously a huge miss understanding can’t we just talk this out and be friends?.” She watched as the blond flinched.

“Like I’d ever be friends with a Monster reject like you!” He snarled, lunging forward with his all-too-familiar sharp hands.

Manako easily dodged, catching his arm pin it into the wall. It would’ve ended there if SweetMask hadn’t used his other hand to slice her up, but his free legs break through the floor and sending the two crashing to the room below.

SweetMask immediately jumped away and reared around to the offensive.

“So you’ve got some moves. So what!” SweetMask snarled. “You’re still a Monster ! You’ll gonna get killed anyways!”

“SweetMask.” Manako flinched when she hears a huge explosion went off a room above. The smell of the dust that the explosion kicked up and the sound of the ceiling crumbling at the edges of the hole that SweetMask made, but Manako nasty memories rather came right away.

Flash Back

“It’ll be alright, kid.” Aden smiled as she patted Manako’s head. “You’ll make it out of this.”

“B-but i don’t want you to die.” She protested through thick tears. “You can come with me. Saitama is a good friend he can help us.” She flinched at the sound of angry mobs of monsters.

“You know I can’t. Tell Saitama and the others I’m sorry—and stay safe, kiddo. Keep smiling.” She gave Manako a grin before standing up from their hiding place, leaving Manako essentially buried in a safe-hole Aden had dug just for her and the others so they have a chance to escape through the secret tunnels. “See ya in the next life.”

“Goodbye.” Manako smiled as best she could. “Auntie Aden.”

Manako shook his head sharply, barely dodging a blow from SweetMask. He hadn’t had to think about Aden’s death in a long time. The Ant Monsters had run out to draw the Mobs away from Manako’s hiding spot. All she’d managed to find of the ant after was few bloodstained pieces of clothing and some bone,And her minding helmet, That was it.

End of Flashback

“I know you won’t understand this, but there are bigger things for me to worry about than your point of view!.” Manako charged at him, ducking under a angry swings and dodging fierce blows.

Oh sh*t that was close!

The noises and explosion were starting to overwhelm her, and the smell of blood and nitroglycerin filled his nostrils, mixing with the scent of ash and smoke. She found that it made it harder to remember on what she was supposed to do. SweetMask kept using his hands-like glimpses of knifes and swords of the corner of his eyes.

Sometimes, when SweetMask tried to slice her with his hand, she overlapped with the image of the Miners evil boss. His red eyes glinted in malice and amusing glee, and Manako wasn’t sure if that was the hallucination or not.

Don’t kill him. The thought ran through her mind. She had to remember. This was SweetMask , not the Monster Association… not the evil boss… this is SweetMask . She pulled back, restraining herself, fighting against years of instinct screaming at her to do otherwise. She fought at only a small percentage of her power. She couldn’t go all-out. Not against her death coworkers. Not against, a fellow friend . A human child.

The two finally jumped apart to catch their breath as Manako held up his hand (a hand that looked bloody pale and was horribly dry from overuse of the slice hand technique), one finger hooked in the pin on the rope. Yellow eyes glined in bloodlust as they thirsted for his death. “You know what structure of this building is, right? Well, Monster, what’dya think these are for?”

Manako’s eyes widened in startled realization as her vision focused on the present for that moment. “The force of the channels down through the walls to the floor.…”

“STOP! YOUR GONNA KILL HER!” TG’s voice rung out in worry, and Manako heard the familiar voice of Mike in the background. Mikey? What’s he doing here?

“Only if she doesn’t jump!” SweetMask grinned as he pulled the rope pin.

If Manako hadn’t spent a decade time surviveing Saitama training or fighting a unbelievably fast and ludicrously strong Monsters, she’d would’ve actually died.

But luckily for Manako, her reflexes were insane, and she managed to dodge most of the buildings rubbles. But one caught her left leg, burning and piercing the skin. The smell of burned flesh reached her nostrils, mixing with the dust kicked up from Manako’s trap. The scent mixed with blood became unnervingly similar to the scent of a decayed corpse from the Monsters Association, and suddenly Manako was completely gone—she didn’t know where she was.

She was half-sure her mind was playing tricks on herself, but she heard some mobs nearby. She glanced around herself quickly, and slipped into stealth mode, hiding in the best spot she could find. She’d wait out the Anger Monsters—Mike and the others was smart enough to do the same. And if her friends was in trouble, Manako would plan it out. She’d go to help them if that were the case. She made a promise to the gang to keep each other safe, after all. Mike wouldn’t die. She’d make sure of it.

But she also promised Aden that she’d look after herself. So she needed to survive. “You’re doing great, Manako.” Aden’s hand ruffled her head. “You’re doing just fine. Keep your elbow bent a little more, yeah! Like that!”

She violently flung the thought out of her mind—this was no time to think of people long dead.

They will survive. No matter what.

May the Meeting Room

Silver Fang was tired. Not that that was necessarily anything new, per say, but he was apprehensive about Saitama’s friend first Heroics Test. Never once his gut feelings lie, he decided to observe TG’s lesson. It was the man’s first time testing heroes, after all, so he’d likely need a hand reigning in 19 superpowered Heroes.

He entered the observation room with TG and the remaining 15 Heroes as Blast, Atomic Samurai, King, Metal Night ready themselves for their battle. ZombieMan , personally, was against the idea of SweetMask and Manako facing one another (or a battle exercise right off the bat, but he trusted that TG had enough common sense to stop heroes for over doing it).

Something about the way SweetMask had lunged at Saitama’s Sidekick during the test before had rubbed him the wrong way. Though Manako hadn’t seemed phased by the unprompted lunge, ZombieMan could see the way she tensed around SweetMask and the surrounding. He suspected this was a case of trauma or something similar, but with no evidence there was nothing ZombieMan could do about it except do his best to prevent any further altercations.

Warily, he kept his eye on the match before him. He just had a feeling.

“Turn on the audio.” Silver Fang spoke up, startling the TG. He internally smirked—he loved scaring people when he’s on stealth mode.

“Silver Fang. I wasn’t aware that you were observing the Test today?”

“I wanted to make sure you had an extra set of eyes on these 2. They’re a handful.” He explained, and TG nodded.

“Um… how do I turn on the audio?”

ZombieMan sighed before leaning over and pressing the obvious white button with the headphone icon. Honestly, the staff should’ve made him get a teaching degree or at least. teach him in private so he will know what to do.

They listened as Manako handed what she explained was a smoke screen bomb to Child Emperor. Clever idea, but let’s see well her plan works.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t long until Manako met with SweetMask , and the results were as hated as ZombieMan had feared.

“Why do you hate monsters so much SweetMask?, What have I ever done to you?” Manako worriedly asked, causing SweetMask bristle in anger.

“Shut the hell up you Monsters! Why are you in the Hero Association? Are you here to spy on everyone?!”

“That’s what’s got you so mad?”. “SweetMask. This is obviously a huge miss understanding can’t we just talk this out and be friends?.” Obviously there’s a lot of context I’m missing, here.

“Like I’d ever be friends with a Monster reject like you!” ZombieMan’s attention immediately became entirely focused on the fight. He had suspected that SweetMask’s record wasn’t as clean as it initially appeared, but 1SRanks has a lot of advantage to hide from the public eye, also noob crushers was very serious—especially for a Monster hero like Manako and Saitama.

ZombieMan also found himself appreciating the smooth form that Manako had, and his obvious expertise with analyzing. She wielded them with experience beyond his years, and ZombieMan wondered where shee’d learned to fight.

Compared to Manako, SweetMask looked like a raging fashion model with graceful and stylish appearance or manner elegance.—powerful, with strong instincts, but a lot of wasted energy and movement. Manako’s movement wasted none, and actually reminded ZombieMan he needs to improve his fighting style a little more on his Weapon.

He tensed when SweetMask cracked a hole in the floor, freeing himself from Maniko’s grasp.

“So you’ve got some moves. So what!” SweetMask snarled. “You’re still a Monster ! You’ll gonna get killed anyways!”

Zim eyes narrowed. This was a personal statement. He knew right there that both of these 2 heroes would need to talk (SweetMask for his anger and fame blindness, and for Manako is low self-esteem and trauma.)

“SweetMask .” Manako flinched as another crashing sound went off, and ZombieMan took a deep breath. He didn’t like the feeling he was getting.

And for a moment, Manako froze. No… ZombieMan’s eyes narrowed. That’s not right. This is something else… But between the shitty angle of the camera and the dust settling, ZombieMan couldn’t name what it was before the Monster snapped herself out of it.

“I know you won’t understand this, but there are bigger things for me to worry about than your point of view .”

Something’s not right. The dust settled and he could see a lot more clearly. Manako’s eyes… they were somewhat glassy and she didn’t look completely there. It was as if she didn’t completely recognize where she was beyond the fight. That worried ZombieMan. A lot.

And then something changed.

It was subtle, and the shift was one that ZombieMan only barely noticed, but Manako went from a sparring fighting style to a fighting for your life style. He caught Manako altering several moves at the last minute that would’ve been lethal (for SweetMask) if he hadn’t changed course. That was when he’d decided that enough was enough. He moved to stop the match before someone got killed, when SweetMask spoke up.

“You know what structure of this building is, right? Well, Monster, what’dya think these are for?”

“The force of the channels down through the walls to the floor.…”

“STOP! YOUR GONNA KILL HER!” TG

shouted over the intercom.

“SweetMask , if you pull that ro—” ZombieMan started, but SweetMask didn’t hear him.

“Only if she doesn’t jump!” ZombieMan felt anger well up alongside his fear as the pin was pulled and a massive crash and explosion took out the building crumbling down.

“Holly Sh*t?! Is everyone okay?!” TG asked, but ZombieMan hit a button on the panel instead while Sliver Fang worried.

“Stop the exercise! Anyone continuing to fight will be expelled.” Silver Fang promised as TG sent him an affronted look.

“I’m going to go check on Manako and The rest. Call the hospital, there’s sure to be injuries.” TG nodded meekly and went to do as told. “Hero Training has been canceled” glared at the remaining heroes , who nodded and planted their feet where they stood or sat. half of them is terrified and the other half is worried if that was of ZombieMan , then good, he’d done something right. Silver Fang though

His heart pounded in worry. SweetMask was leaning casually against a wall, acting like nothing was wrong. While Child Emperor was sitting down on the floor and Flashy Flash was looking at the crumpled building “You are going to wait for me in the minsters office. We will have a nice long discussion on why that was not okay. And the boss wants to talk to you so don’t attempt to go elsewhere, and you’ll find yourself in huge trouble.” ZombieMan glared, and SweetMask straightened in shock and nodded.

Silver Fang stayed with the 3 heroes while ZombieMan looked for Manako

Fubuki and King came down the stairs, worry evident on their faces. “So are they ok?” Fubuki asked.

“Just go back to the other heroes since this test is called while I locate Manako also can you call Saitama.” He ordered, and King and Fubuki did what he had said.

ZombieMan was good at finding people with his analyzing skills—he had to be to find the crooks and crannies lurking in back alleyways at important missions. But it was harder to find Manako for the life of him, finding Manako is really tricky. And that scared him. It wasn’t until he finally caught sight of a few drops of blood on the floor (likely from cutting herself on rubble) that his eyes focused on a deathly still figure hiding in the rubble.

Wide one eyes stared around his environment, as if tracking unseen enemies. She flinched—twitched, more like—at unheard sounds, and her breathing was almost nonexistent.

ZombieMan realized that Manako was stuck in some kind of flashback. “Bright Light.” No reaction.

“Manako.” He tried again, noticing that his friend twitched a little at the sound of her given name.

“Mikey?” ZombieMan blinked. Who the heck is Mikey? He decided not to question it right now. “Yeah, kid. It’s me.” He carefully made his way over to him. “Can you tell me where you are right now?”

“Cave Mineing. I can hear them nearby… Making a break for it would be too dangerous, though. But as long we stick to the plan we can make it out alive. Did you get hurt?” Manako’s voice was scarcely a whisper, and ZombieMan couldn’t help but feel a little heartbroken to see the hardened and fearful look on her face. Just what had happened to Manako in the past? She looked like a soldier in a warzone.

“I’m okay. Listen to me. You’re at Hero Association You’re safe, it’s okay. Nobody is going to hurt you.” He kept his voice calm and soft, and the monsters blinked a few times in confusion. “There’s no one here but our gang?,But… I can hear them?”

“Hear who?”

“The anger mobs of monsters.” There was a pause. So Manako has enemies who are not only human but also monsters? “Mikey? Are the gang okay? Foapy, MooMoo… And Vend?” Are those Manako’s old friends?

“Yeah. Everyone’s okay, Manako.” He rolled with it, calling him Mikey. The monsters relaxed substantially, so ZombieMan assumed it was the right call. “Saitama is here to pick you up.”

“Saitama? But he’s…” her eye furrowed before her eyes cleared up quickly.

ZombieMan carefully placed a hand on Bright Light’s shoulder, and he found Manako’s hand grasping his arm like a lifeline. “Where am I?” She asked desperately.

“It’s Wednesday.. You just started your first Hero Test of Hero Association .” He answered quietly, and she froze for a moment before she melted into his arms.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to…” ZombieMan ignored the tears that were soaking into his coat as he held Saitama’s Sidekick . He reached up to his radio. “Silver Fang, I’ve found her. She’s hurt, but nothing life-threatening. I’m taking her to the Saitama myself.”

He then turned his attention back to the obviously traumatized monsters. “It’s all right, Bright Light. You have nothing to apologize for.”

“I… I must’ve hurt my coworkers and my teammate I… I’m so sorry…”

How Manako Helped Saitama Be a Hero

Saitama glared at the letter that had been dropped through his door (You know the door with one of those slip in holes for the mail to get in.)

Dear Saitama

I bet two Coupons of Hot Pot that you will never be a Hero since you are a slacker and a idiot.

Yours sincerely,

Someone who has more chance of becoming a badass hero more than you bitch!

"Oh yeah? I'll show you, bastard!" Saitama declared to his unknown challenger, "I'll exercise everyday and do parkour then I'll find you and kick your ass!" He paused, "Then I'll take those two Coupons of Hot Pot. Actually wait, I'll do that first. But after that!" He shook his fist in anger, "Consider your ass kicked, you peace of shit!"

“Manako I’m going out! You want to join me?”

“I’ll Join you tomorrow Saitama I’m a little too busy.”

“Well ok then bye.”

Saitama close the door and Manako can hear his footsteps going down the stairs.

....

“Holly Cow! that plan actually worked!”

Manako and Saitama

The Monster Association Accident

Manako And Saitama

“I don’t wanna die,” Manako says, and Saitama’s gut freezes over with chilling ice.

“ What ?”

“I don’t wanna—” Manako sucks in a sharp breath, and then continues, “I don’t want to die. I haven’t even done anything yet, I—I haven’t achieved my dream—” she chokes off with a watery laugh that’s three degrees to the left of quietly hysterical, and Saitama rips his hand away from the her stomach to make sure that the burnt blood didn’t brake.

“What the hell are you talking about? Dying? Manako, your not going to die.” Saitama refuses, to believe that.

Manako just shakes her head. It spreads an uncomfortable extra layer of sweat into the crook of Saitama’s neck. Saitama grimaces.

“The doctors, they—they said they don’t know how to help me.”

Saitama’s lungs stagger.

“I’m dying,” Manako repeats, frenzied. “I’m dying and I—I haven’t done anything, I—I could have live longer —?” She trails off, voice getting weaker with each question that Saitama’s isn’t able to come up with and answer for.

“What do you mean—?”

“‘I failed ,” Manako gasps out, her hands grabbing the hospital blanket her knuckles turning white. “I can’t—I can’t do anything right, I tried so hard and now—now I’m dying and—and—”

She looks up, at Saitama’s, and there are tear tracks down her eyes are red rimmed and wet, and Saitama’s never felt actually helpless in his entire life until now, because this— this —this is his friend, crying hopelessly right in his face, he failed being a hero for Manako , if he was more careful he could save her in time.

“Manako, I—”

“I promised you that We’ll achieve our dreams together,” Manako cries, rambling on, “and I don’t even know what, and I can’t—now I won’t , because—because I can’t save people anymore, don’t have time to fix the relationship between Humans and Monsters and I’m gonna die , and—”

“Manako—”

“ idiot . If I wasn’t so much of a coward I could —make the world a better place—and now I’m Useless, and I can’t do anything right, why can’t I ever do anything —?!”

“ Manako ,” Saitama yells, hands snapping out to grab his friend by the shoulders and hauling her upwards, so he can get a look at her face. He glares down at his BFF, “Shut the hell up! Your gonna be ok.”

Manako just shakes her head, and she’s never, in all the time that Manako’s known him, looked so unhinged. And not in a crazy way, but in the way that grief makes somebody. Like how Aden use to looks at her during the mines, sometimes, when she thinks nobody’s watching her, and she stares at the Diamonds and gold it’s just absolutely—

Manako has tears streaming down her face, and she hiccups even as Saitama gives her another shake.

“I Can’t save anyone,” so many friends and strangers I could have saved. “I can’t save anyone if I’m dead!

“Manako... ”

Saitama lets go of Manako’s shoulders, lets the monster fall on the pillow . Saitama moves his arms behind her and laid back on the hospital bed with her. He tilts his head and stares outside of the window and thought.

They learned the same thing in class, poetic ideologies back in 9 grade before going up to 10 grade . In middle school, the words always came with an level of thinly veiled scorn, but Saitama’s always been able to see how that scorn was superficial, at best.

Like maybe they’d convinced themselves they thought it was all a load of bull, but deep down they held onto it, clung to it. Hoping, just secretly hoping. Saitama couldn’t really fault them, much, because so had he.

And then monsters started to appearing more during middle school and people started dying, and it’s like the Government had sworn to prove to Saitama that the ideals of heroes it was all just a shitty cover for a safe home that was, secretly infested of evil, The civilians that Tokyo vilified and scorned for their inhumane practices, always lifting Tokyo up as the was helpful among all the other injured civilians—the hopes and dreams, the one filled with heroes and Monster Discrimination.

Tokyo was filled with humans and hidden monsters underground, but so was everywhere else in the world—and humans lied, and cheated, and treated anything outside their norm with scorn. Anything they didn’t understand or approve of was unacceptable just like monsters.

But there are still good humans and monsters that helped out with the troubles of society.

Saitama looks down at his small friend trembling in his lap, and feels sick with the world, because—because—he could have done so much more to help Manako?

He remembered how they become friends. Manako was really shy when she first saw Saitama for the very first time meeting a human at the park. by the time they get older and graduated. They’d already been on the run, since the monster found out about Manako betraying her own kind, but Manako seemed to take everything with a sense of urgency—she had to get that technique down now , she needed to be good at her own skills to survive also the part that she got better at making gadget or other items.

Manako was good. Saitama had already known that before he even officially improved his gaols too. Manako was a prodigy. She was talented, quick on the uptake, smart and resourceful and never had to be taught something twice before she mastered it and moved on—everything Saitama wasn’t . Manako was the perfect Evil Monster that they wanted, but the only problem that they have with her is her loving natural caring side and saw it as a weakness.

Manako sobs something totally incoherent into Saitama’s chest, and Saitama feels his stomach roll queasily. How much of all that stress innate talent, and how much of her innocence has gone —?

How many friends did she saw get killed?

Saitama sits up. He wraps one arm around Manako’s waist, slides one underneath her legs, and stands up. Manako weighs absolutely nothing in his arms, and it makes Saitama’s stomach flop over on itself again.

Manako gulps and shudders and leans into him, burying her face into the collar of Saitama’s jacket.

“’I’m scared ,” she whispers, haltingly, so quiet that the words almost get lost in the fabric of Saitama’s Jacket. So quiet Saitama almost doesn’t hear her.

Except, he does.

Saitama takes a moment to adjust his grip, making sure he’d got a good hold on his childhood friend. He pauses for a moment, ducks his head down so that his chin digs momentarily into Manako’s head, and breathes in.

“You’re not gonna die, you dummy.”

Saitama won’t let any human or monsters hurt her again.

And he will succeed achieving both of their dreams together no matter what, he just need to get the 3 smartest people he knows, Geno,Child Emperor, and Dr. Kuseno, I hope they will help me find a cure for Manako.
