Tensions were running a bit high as the meeting ran along. Reyanni and the parents got along swell, but Chloe... Chloe wasn't feeling it at all. and it felt like t-minus any second that it would show.

All I'm saying is maybe we should be cautious. I mean we don't know where Lance met you. And you certainly aren't the usual kind of woman he dates. Forgive me if I'm skeptical of you. Or don't your opinion doesn't bother me too much. .

Moments like this make me wonder if I should show the fuck out or be an adult. Today I chose to be an adult. But not because I'm a bitch. But because this is a man I'd let hit it raw if he asked. This is a man my mom calls "Her Favorite Unseasoned Dorito". This is a man that loves me genuinely loves me. I need his family to like me... so i'mma swallow my pride and keep my wits about me.

I am sorry you feel that way about me. I'm sure there isn't a thing I can do to change your mind, nor am I gonna try. You've got your opinion set and that is perfectly fine by me.. All I ask is that we remain cordial for the rest of the evening.

Needless to say that dinner ended fairly quickly. Lance's parents loved Reyanni, but Chloe would be an issue to tackle later on.... for now it was time to focus on the next step of their relationship. The career talk.

Meeting the parents was always an experience to say the least... Some relationships didn't last past meeting the family.. some did but burnt out due to the family being very tight knit, some did but only because one partner isn't close to the family... or on the rare occasion a relationship survived because the entire immediate family liked the partner.. Reyanni really liked lance.. even if she wasn't sure about what he did for work yet... and as she introduced herself she noticed the weird looks his sister was giving her.

REYANNI'S POV

"I brought some pastries from my bakery for you all. Lance said you can't have gluten so these two boxes are gluten free."

I'm not a fan of how she's looking at me right now. Did I say something wrong... am I going bonkers... Why hasn't anyone said anything yet....

"It's quite nice to meet you. Lance has been talking about you for months now. You said you brought pastries with you?" "Yes.. It's a variety of pastries I didn't know what you all would like and Lance only wanted to taste test so I brought multiple types"

Things went smooth from there. His parents loved me and my pastries but his sister was fairly distant....That worried me a bit.. I thought she was just going to ignore my existence the entire night until she finally spoke up.

"I'm assuming you know what he does for work." "No.... I told him he could tell me when he is ready.. I'll still be with him no matter his job... he's an amazing man....and I think of myself as blessed to have found him. It's not everyday you find a guy like him into women like me." But then his sister opens her mouth again

"That's weird. I wonder why he didn't tell you he's a formula one driver. Maybe your relationship isn't as stable as you think."

"What's that.... Like Nascar? I'm not very.. well versed in motorsports Also i would have been content with waiting for him to tell me when he was ready."

if one plus one is two and two plus two is four, why is her attitude giving me sixty-three....She's acting a bit off....maybe I should leave and try again another day...

My group project partners left me to pick up all the slack and I spent three days of nonstop writing and research to get that done (No warnings for this chapter... Maybe some cursing I think) Bold = Lance Italics = Reyanni Reyanni's Thoughts Lance's Thoughts Reyanni's POV "I'm worried lance.... what if your parents and your sister doesn't like me... or what if I say the wrong thing... or what if I forget how to speak English" I'm cut off by Lance cupping my face in his hands.

"Listen to me Rey... They are going to love you just as much as I do. You are an amazing woman... and you mean the world to me now take a deep breath...and let all your worries fade"

I had the urge to give him that look you give someone when they say a slew of bullshit... but I resisted and grabbed the boxes of pastries from the car. I figured it wouldn't hurt to bribe them with sweet treats....Right.... right? The moment he knocked on the door I felt my hands begin to tremble. But I pushed my worries behind me and put on a brave smile. If it’s one thing my mama always said it’s greet people with a smile, so that's what I'm gonna do. And as we entered the house I found myself regretting many things, my outfit, my haircut, the pastries I had brought along.. I knew my therapist was useless as hell.. Because why did taking three deep breaths not work. When we got to where his parents and his sister were sitting I felt more nervous than a parent when their baby says fuck in a church.  . . . "Hello.. My name is Reyanni" Can't go wring with an introduction right? I don't know if I should hold my breath or just go with the flow.... you know how anxiety likes to send little songs through the mind to try and calm you. Mines isn't doing that. Mines is playing Flamingo by kero kero bonito.... hopefully someone says something before I start singing it out loud... that would be awful if I did... . . . . To Be Continued.

I'm sorry its so late. Finals Kicked my ass. and I'm pretty sure I need to retake one of my classes that I'm currently failing by .5 points because the professor is a woman who hates to see women go places in life. Since it's break time I should be able to complete this mini series soon.
