Watch me do Demon Slayer x One Piece crossover but I am putting a character reborn in a situation where they're reliving their worse moment of their life over again ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡
1. Kocho Shinobu reborn as Trafalgar Lami
Little Law putting Shinobu in the wardrobe the same way her parents hide her and Kanae away from the demons and she watches the world government destroy her family the same way demons did...
(also Shinobu having denial stage at the first consciousness and memories returning, denying having a brother, being suicidal and wanting nothing more than to reunite with her first family)
(also also Shinobu overcame the Amber lead disease from breathing techniques + soul adapting with past memories thus her wisteria poison filled body returning as a counteract with the Amber lead cells)
(or that she puts wisteria Poison in her again to experiment against the disease)
(it's a slow progress that takes years)
2. Iguro Obanai reborn as a Charlotte, one of Big Mom's sons.
A big family that robs of others again? He loathes every single second of his second life, refusing to refer Big Mom as Mama, refusing to call his siblings as brothers or sisters. Glare at everyone, distance himself and train himself in secret. He doesn't have his slit scar but the feeling still there and he keeps his mouth covered.
(Kaburamaru being reborn too as a Sea King of sort and bonding with Obanai again. Katakuri being chosen to supervise and train Obanai, not knowing what to do with this spiteful little younger brother of his that let out such a hatred for everyone he wonders why his little brother hates him :(
(Katakuri's caring nature trying to make sure Obanai is taken care of and grows up healthy but Obanai and his can-go-three-days-without-eating bullsheet is stressing Katakuri off)
3. Uzui Tengen reborn as a Vinsmoke, Reiju's twin brother
Another horrible father! Tengen cursing and wondering why he can't have a normal family for once. Unlike Reiju, he's not shy in defending Sanji and hides away if Judge tries to drag him to the lab to 'correct' him.
(Tengen encouraging Sanji's dream to cook and suggests training his mice friends to be muscle mice, which leaves Sanji a bit puzzled on what that last bits mean)
(Tengen not blaming Reiju for her turning a blind eye when Sanji gets beaten publicly, not hating his other brothers because he knows how hard it is to survive in this kind of family)
Been busy with stuff lately, but what do you think of Hashira centric arc ideas?
Set during the Entertainment District arc, a few days before the fight against Uppermoons 6.
Two Hashiras -- Obanai and Mitsuri -- are sent to investigate a village rumoured to have a demon hiding in it. The villagers have that sacrificial ritual that hasn't been done for a few decades and suddenly resumed back out of nowhere.
Obanai finds a familiar face of his remaining cousin during his stay there, and to his horror, discovers that she was the cause of this.
A demon had captured her children and made a bargain for her to sacrifice other people in their stead. She manipulated the villagers in doing the rituals again until the demon is satisfied and will return her children. Obanai has to settle the dispute with the villagers who think he's trying to bother the ritual and endangers their lives while Mitsuri goes to save the hostages the demon has a hold onto.
A stand off between Mitsuri and the demon. She manages to defeat it, but not without some costs when the people she was trying to protect didn't listen to her warning to stay put. About three people died, and one of them was the cousin's child.
" Why do you have to go and ruin everything again?! " The cousin screams at Obanai as she clutches her dead child's body. " You've always been the one to cause disaster! All you had to do was stay put! LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID!!! "
Obanai can only stare and stare and says nothing, even if inside he knows that he should defend himself at least, to do something to make up for when she blamed him in the past. But his mouth remains sealed.
Later, when the villagers chase away the Hashiras due to still in confusion belief, Obanai and Mitsuri get to talk a bit.
He doesn't reveal much, just something along the lines that the woman was his cousin, and he wasn't even considered human in his family's eyes. That his cousin blames him for everything, for getting everyone killed, for not just to stay in his role.
" I am tainted with dirty blood, " he says in a soft breath, " this I will carry until I die and reborn. "
Mitsuri wants to tell him that his family doesn't define what he is, that he's not them, and that he's not dirty. In her eyes, he's such a strong and amazing person fighting for the innocence.
But as she keeps her gaze on him, and he doesn't even look at her since the moment they left the village, she realizes that it's not easy. Those comforting words would fall into deaf ears.
Perhaps her words would be listened, but not accepted.
So she takes his hand gently, noting the flinch as his response but no withdrawing.
" You're not alone, Iguro-san. I'll always support you. "
And at that moment, Obanai knows that he really doesn't deserve Mitsuri at all.
(he wants to love her, to show how much she means to him but she deserves so much better than what he is. She wants to love him, wants to give her heart but how can she, if he refuses it?)
[ KNY Infinity Castle arc spoiler ]
Rereading the part where Kanao mocks and insults Douma and I finally understand that in a way, she's gloating.
Douma and Kanao were raised in an environment where neither had the luxury to express their true emotions. They needed to act in a certain way to survive. When they finally found a path that allowed them to be more of what they were, Kanao managed to shape herself according to her choice but Douma couldn't.
Even if Douma has gotten stronger, he would always be in that cult, always performing sweet smiles and playing the role of a savior. He stays in the way he was as a human. He's like a frozen statue, unchanging. His human self wanted a change, a spark of excitement in his dull life and he thought being a demon was the answer.
Kanao is everything that he's not. She finds the will to change while he doesn't. Douma has more power than ever, he could go find something else about himself but no, he let himself be rooted in the same spot.
" Why were you even born? " Kanao probably has asked the same thing about herself, and upon noting the slight similarity between her and Douma, she represented the same question for him too.
The brewing hatred in Kanao makes her express great pleasure in seeing that she succeeded in denying her past while Douma still lives in that bubble. Her words spit venom because she can relate to him. Can't feel happiness, can't feel sadness. While he can't, she couldn't.
The difference between them relies on their choices and she feels such immense delight in a moment of spite to know that what she chose has become her strength. She made the choice to change, even in slow progress, but she finds the will to live instead only to survive.
It's such a brilliant choice to have Kanao battles against Douma, from the fact that the people around them are connected to that their pasts are almost the same.
It's so funny to me that to the people whose Tanjirou isn't able to befriend much, they somehow get closer to those dear to him.
Like with Sanemi and Nezuko, or Ume/Daki befriends Kanao (Gakuen).
He can't influence the Tanjirou's effect on them so he passes it to his sister and gf.
Gyutaro and Daki/Ume are so " I regret nothing but you " & " I regret everything but you " trope.
Rewatching season 2 and I took note on how Gyutaro is so sure that in any lifetime that he'll be in, he'll choose the path of taking because he believes himself to be filthy and bad to the core, that it doesn't matter how many times it happens, that will always be his choice.
Tearing my hair out of how he only chooses love when it comes to Daki/Ume. He chose to be vulnerable only to her, his little sister. He lets her see how ugly he and the world is, but he wouldn't allow the ugliness to drown her happiness like it did with his. He was never given care since he was born, and he refused to have his sister being treated the same.
Daki/Ume becoming what and who she is because of him... he's her whole world. Her brother, her parental figure. At some point she probably figured out how her beauty could have had her having a better life on her own, but she chose to stay with him regardless of what happened. Just as Gyutaro chose to love her, Daki/Ume chose him as well.
Everyone may have their own likes and dislikes, but I am coming in full swing to those who hate Kanae or Koyuki.
I don't trust those who say Kanae is a bad sister and likes Sanemi -- my human friend, in WHAT mentality do you have to label a character that has been portrayed to be a wonderful and inspiring older sibling as a bad figure?? Crazy how you're going to 'headcanon' her as a bad sister when Shinobu and Kanao have always thought fondly of her.
Koyuki's hate is so unwarranted like??? Just because she's in the way of your Akaza ship with another character?? She literally did nothing wrong 😭 what are you on about.
It's insane that if Kanae and Koyuki are men, they wouldn't be much hated. Stop hating kind and gentle girls for no reason ‼️
" I want to be as kind as Tanjirou -- " nah I want to be as ADAPTABLE as him.
My guy adapts to a situation so quickly like wdym he made up a plan in the midst of panic and horror. He threw an axe at Giyuu. He covered the wisteria poison scent from Gyutarou and then stabbed him. He cut off Urogi's feet from a hunch that the clone's power wouldn't work on the same cells.
Tanjirou is so resourceful, he observes his surroundings and situation and accustomed himself to it. In another world, he might never pick up a sword but he sure is very sharp and intelligent.
One second he's all happy and smiley and the kindest boy ever and then the next second he's throwing hands and it lands accurately.
I kinda wish the Hashira Training arc was longer, so I have an idea to be put during this arc so:
Tanjirou returning back to his hometown and house in request of Oyakata to find clues about Nezuko's resistance against the sun.
With Tamayo's note about Nezuko's growth and constant cells mutation, Tanjirou heads back to his home in hope that any clues he finds can help contribute to the corps. This small mission is also to ensure that any information could be taken and hidden first in case Muzan ever returns back to the Kamado's residence for clues as well.
Tanjirou is accompanied by Kanao and Giyuu. Kanao is there with some information of plants and herbs that may be helpful, and also to be Shinobu's second eyes since the Insect Hashira isn't able to tag along. Giyuu provides extra protection, again, in case Muzan sends any demons there despite the lack of demonic activities.
The young Kamado relishes the experience of returning back to his hometown, and the residents are more than happy to welcome home back with smiles and teary eyes. Although there's a bit of a misunderstanding upon seeing Giyuu, who was once suspected to be the suspect of the Kamado's family death.
The trio arrive at Kamado's residence, and they pay respects and prayers to the graves first before looking around.
Tanjirou has some nostalgic moments as he gazes upon his home, his heart swells with pain. Some tankana bonding moments of Kanao asking about how his life was and her smiling wistfully at the thought of such a warm family. The young slayers get even more determined to defeat demons.
They find nothing in the house but Giyuu spots wilting horsetail weed around the area. Kanao inspects in and takes note of the subtle differences in the petals, the colours, the stems, etc etc. She collects some samples to be taken back. The trio do more inspections but find nothing. They leave before nightfall, advising the town people to stay away from the mountain area in case Muzan gets there or anything.
On the way back, Tanjirou tells stories of his childhood memories. One in particular about the time his mother made him and Nezuko a soup when they were sick.
Kanao returns to the Butterfly estate and sets the plants in small pots, stationing them in Shinobu's office, before returning to training.
Shinobu, workaholics and couldn't count the last time she took a proper sleep, is about to inspect the plants according to Kanao's report. The sun is peeking barely behind the mountains, the day is bright,
and in the pots are blooming blue Spider Lilies.
[KNY spoiler]
Do you guys think that Sanemi and Kanae often disagree on their different treatment over Shinobu and Genya,
and when they watch the lights faded in their little siblings' eyes as Kanae dies in Shinobu's arms, and Sanemi watches Genya crumbling away,
do you wonder, at that time, if they think " You were right, Sanemi/Kanae. "
Personal opinion, but even tho Demon Slayer is quite a simple story of good vs evil, the thing that makes it stand out is how the story and characters are handled;
Oh they use breathing? Everyone can breathe. Wait. HOW DID THEY DO THAT WITH ONLY BREATHING??
Oh yeah, another character's sad backstory -- oh that explains how they act and this gives their characters more depth.
The only thing that makes the series popular is the animation -- wait that's quite interesting, tell me more.
Ugh why is the MC like that so weak. Oh wait I am so used to the vengeful and stoic MC that I am baffled by a MC that strives with kindness because being kind is very hard in a harsh world.
KNY Horror movie AU lists:
1. The Ethereal Cult
(Featuring Inosuke, Kanao, Shinobu, Kanae, Kotoha and Douma.)
Inosuke and Kanao venture into a small village in search for their friend Shinobu, only to find themselves deep in trouble with the local cult where the leader may or may not practice cannibalism.
2. Split
(Featuring Tanjirou, Nezuko, Genya, Mitsuri and Hantengu clones.)
During a school trip, a group of high schoolers and their teacher are forced to take cover from the storm in a small inn belonging to a man named Hantengu. As the storm drags on for days, so does their stay in the inn. Terrifying things begin to unfold when they discover that the man is a serial killer.
3. Unseen Scales
(Featuring Muichiro, Yuichiro, Kotetsu, Haganezuka and Gyokko.)
People keep disappearing and after his twin brother is amongst the missing ones, Muichiro is set to uncover the truth. The only clues or patterns he recognized from the cases are the fact that the victims often went missing near the river, always during the night market.
During the earlier days in the beginning of their friendship, Zenitsu and Inosuke notice the way Tanjirou wakes up in the middle of the night to stare at a sleeping Nezuko for a while before returning to sleep.
" Why do you always do that? " The blond boy decides to ask one day, his tone light. " It's not like she's going anywhere. "
" And no one would try to attack her in the presence of Lord Inosuke! " The wild boy cackled, stuffing his boar hide on as he laid on his futon.
Tanjirou glances at them, his smile warm and his eyes distant. He's about to answer, before his eyes dart back towards his sleeping sister and the sudden change of expression startles the other two, as Tanjirou scrambles to his feet and rushes over to Nezuko. He puts his hand over her nose, leaning in close and his other hand places over where her heart is.
After a beat of silence, they heard him sigh in relief and when he looks at them again, it's easy to recognize the anxiety and worry on his face.
" I am sorry for the false alarm, " Tanjirou says, gently patting Nezuko, " I thought...she stopped breathing for a second -- "
And that's all that Zenitsu and Inosuke need to know. The questions stop, and sometimes, the two of them would wake up in the middle of the night to check on Nezuko too.
Kanao's hands keep shaking, her fingers repeatedly fail to keep a tight grasp upon the hairpin. She manages to catch the butterfly ornament quick before it hits the ground.
She tries again. Hair strands fisting around the side of her head, the clip is supposed to be slides in -- and she drops it again.
If she could've sob, she probably would have.
A bigger, more calloused and scarred hand catches the pin for her. Kanao watches the Wind Hashira switch glances from her to the ornament before he makes a signal for her to turn around.
She doesn't find it in her voice to apologize for the trouble, opting only to turn around and let him tie up her hair. She feels her breath hitches just slightly at the way he handles the strands of her hair, moving every last one until he finally clips on the Butterfly ornament by the side of Kanao's head.
Kanae had always said that the Wind Hashira is a rather gentle soul.
" Break's over. " He gruffs, his hand moves to rest on the hilt of his sword. " The sun is setting and we've got a demon to kill. "
She knows his gaze lingers on the green and pink butterfly pin on the side of her head.
Everyone grieves in their own way anyway.
Another KNY drabble with Obanai but it just came across my mind that some people might think Obanai hates all women and is misogynist -- SHUT UPPP IT'S CALLED TRAUMA FOR A REASON.
I think the correct way to describe how Obanai acts around women would be more 'uncomfortable'. He doesn't dislike them because he thinks men are superior and women are less than men yada yada -- he dislikes women because he was raised in an all women family and treated like a sacrifice for a snake demon.
Hello?? Is that not traumatizing then idk what is. He was a baby even then and grew up in a cage with no contact of outside world! Obviously this caused him to be uncomfortable around women and tends to be awkward.
You know, actually, i really REALLY like that Obanai was saved by Shinjuro and this led him possibly to know Kyoujuro since they were young. Something about a boy that was so used to hypocrite people and then met someone that radiates genuine honesty so much it's baffling. I think that's why Obanai likes Kyoujuro, because everything about him is real and truthful.
The same applies with his attraction to Mitsuri, who has an easily readable expression so lying is not her best forte. Also with Sanemi, due to his unfiltered words.
(oh god Obanai saying Giyuu's face looks like a rat and that's why he doesn't like him is probably because it's hard to know what Giyuu is thinking, so automatically Obanai hates him)
Ah I just thought of Shinobu with her emotions masking! Obanai probably hates her at first, feeling SUPER wary of her cause she's all smiles and sweet and he just has instant flashback AKDNSKSN.
Oh my god. Enemies to besties with Obanai and Shinobu. Besties that talk about swords cause their sword structures are unique. Obanai allowing Shinobu to extract Kaburamaru's poison for test. Shinobu giving special permission for Obanai bringing in Kaburamaru into the butterfly estate cause she knows he keeps his snake friend clean and healthy.
Shinobu, without realising it, helps Obanai to interact with girls more after spending time with each other. Obanai, offering support and encouragement for Shinobu when she feels insecure of her lack of physical strength.
(I'd say enemies to besties cause Obanai hates people that masked their intentions with sweet words and would word something like 'I hate fake women like you: and Shinobu misunderstood his hostility as a superior feeling against women then the aggressive tension between them is WILD until maybe they had a talk about their pasts)
Obanai appreciates honest people y'all, in a nutshell.
Head empty, just thinking of that yes, Mitsuri is the first woman Obanai learns to love, but consider this; Shinobu being the first woman he respects.
Imagine Obanai still not a Hashira yet, going on a group mission with Shinobu leading and he's like "God how come she became a Hashira when she can't even behead a demon most girls in the corps are weak and they don't take this whole things seriously smh"
Then the demon comes and Shinobu only stabs him once and the effect is tremendous, leaving what was once a strong demon to be a writhing, agonizing creature choking for air as his skin turns dull and the scent of wisteria poison lingers in the air, almost like some kind of warning to other nearby demons.
And the unbothered look on her face? The absolute no hesitation??
Good leadership + able to remain composed + smart and strategic + doesn't let her weakness define her capabilities = worthy of respect.
Mitsuri is Obanai's first love, and Shinobu is his first lady friend that he actually genuinely respects and likes.
(bonus that Obanai would trash talk about Giyuu with Shinobu and she constantly shuts him up cause she wants to befriend Giyuu and Obanai has no freaking clue why and what she sees in him. Judging friend but with concern intent).
❝ 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙛. ❞
Some drabbles below. Anyway, I am trying some style and colour testing. I put baby Hakuji and Tanjirou in cool and calming color while Akaza in a bright flashing colour to bring out the contrast in it.
I tried making Tanjirou looking soft and reminiscing memories of the past,
While having Akaza staring in perplexed with his all sensory going haywire because of the painful memory that Tanjirou reminds him of that he can't even remember; so hence frustration and confusing resulting to being alarmed and angry.
(Without colour)
Based on the manga panel;
It's the way Tanjirou expression that gets me. He looks at Akaza in a pitiful, sympathetic gaze that is not in an insulting nor looking down on way. It's more like Tanjirou thinks;
" What happened to you? "
Tanjirou recognizes the belief Akaza has rooted from something, an event happening in his human life. In some way, I think Tanjirou has an idea perhaps of why Akaza has such belief, despite the disagreement he has for it.
Even if he has hatred for Akaza, he wonders how could such villain starts as a small pure baby. What happened? What happened to make Akaza turning out like this?
Tanjirou is mostly a forgiving person but when it comes to Akaza, I don't think he will ever forgive nor forget what the demon has done. But remember that Tanjirou is understanding, sympathetic and empathetic.
He doesn't know what happened but he always wants to understand the demons he fought because he knows that they were once humans too. That they had humanity at one point. The real villain here is Muzan and Tanjirou reminds himself of that often. He would never blame the other demons, holding onto the hope and possibility that not every demons wanted to become what they are.
I think the time spent before Tanjirou can meet Akaza again allows the boy to learns more of his enemies. He's met Gyutaro and Daki (Ume), he's met Hantengu...time has allow his heart to slowly toughen and soften, to ignore the seek for revenge in the beginning.
And when Tanjirou meets Akaza again, the hatred comes but so does the pity and sympathy. With bits of sprinkle a question,
" What happened to you? "
I am currently busy with university projects but don't worry, I'll make sure to draw the next comic part for Haganezuka and you (tw angst for real)
Btw, I have an idea with trope of Mall Security Guard x That Random Mall Musician to use with female reader and another Demon Slayer character (male casts) choices are;
- Kyogai
- Any of the Hantengu clones
- other cast (comments below)
p.s. hey wouldn't it be fun if reader was the security instead lol
