Platinum Bones Day 3: species swap
You can tell I had fun with this one hehe⊠so many opportunities!
This prompt essentially speaks for itself; king becomes a collector, and the collector becomes a titan. This was pretty challenging! But also fun. Overall, I am probably more satisfied with King âs transformation. It still feels like him. Although, I did take some inspiration from @pespillo âs design haha. It was so good!!
Idk why I left the collector with a tail in the last image. I guess I was just feeling it atm (insert shrugging emoticon)

"Are you ready for this, King?" Luz plops herself down into the chair.
"Uh I'm a little nervous." He admitted while absentmindedly tapping his claws together. "What if it's not...what if he's not how I imagined?"
"You're going to love him, bro. Remember the bread pun?" Luz reaches over and pats his skull. She smiles as her little brother lets out a giggle.
"I do." King nods, tail wagging from the memory. He hasn't forgotten seeing his dad's spirit either. It was etched into his mind. The giddiness he felt upon seeing his father when he never thought he would get to.
"I'm here!" Willow enters the classroom. "I'm not late, am I?"
"You're right on time, pal!" Luz beams. "Now lets get digging!"
"Um Willow?" King looks up at her before they can dive in. "Thanks for doing this."
"No need to thank me." Willow says warmly. "I'm glad to do it for a friend." Then she fetches the tweezers and she begins extracting memories from Luz's mind.
King stands there watching with fur fluffing up in anticipation. Polaroid after polaroid is hung up onto the wire.
Luz's reunion with him and Eda.
When Luz was talking to the Collector.
Luz when she...he looks away from this particular picture. He doesn't want to be reminded of that.
"Aha!" Willow's voice draws him back in and she's holding a picture in her hand. "Whoa, that is an interesting style."
"Cool, right?" Luz said. "She's totally rocking the bad girl coven shirt too!"
"Lemme see!" King scrambles over and he makes grabby claws for the polaroid, all previous worries forgotten.
"Here you go, little guy." Willow hands him the photograph. "You two are definitely related."
King holds it in his paws and he studies the image of his dad. He's sweeping what appears to be a beard to the side and he is in fact wearing one of Eda's bad girl coven shirts.
He's tall, way taller than Luz.
Was he going to be that tall?
"It's my dad." King says. It was his dad. He was holding a picture of his dad in his claws. He knows what his dad looks like now.
"King?" Luz kneels the ground in front of him. "Are you okay?"
King meets his sister's eyes. "I..I think so." He sniffles.
"If you need to cry, we got plenty of tissues in here." Willow tells him. "And our own tears to cry too."
"That won't be necessary. But...thanks Willow." King returns his gaze to the photo. "Would it be dangerous to Luz if I kept this?"
"As long as it doesn't get damaged, it should be okay." Willow smiles. "I know you'll keep it safe."
"Big sister seconds this!" Luz hugs him tight for a moment. "Want to see any more? I bet there's a lot of titan dad memories in here just waiting for you to see." She points at her head.
"I...I think this is good for now, Luz." King tucks the picture to his chest. "Thank you."
"Of course, King." Luz plants a kiss on top of his skull and then she rises to her feet. "Now what say we raid the cafeteria for some snacks?"
King bounces on his heels. "Snacks!" He rushes out the room with picture still in his paw. He isn't ever letting it out of his sight.
Luz follows after him with Willow beside her.
She's glad that King has gotten the chance to see what his dad looks like. It's all she could ever ask for and now it was real.
She feels happy about that.

âThey approach the stairway and stand upon the gate before them. The large walls and gate overlook them, as the sun rests within the middle of the sky. As they are one step close to entering the ruinsâ...
Cae/Collector: âWowâŠ, big gateâ.
Lilith: âTo think when I first saw this, I couldnât believe my eyesâ.
Vee: âSoâŠ, how do we get through it nowâ?
Gus: âI would say flying but since we're new around here probably now a good idea right nowâ.
Hooty: âWhy not blast it open, then we can the insideâ.
King: âNO!â
âEveryone looks towards the King as he yellsâ.
King: âThese are ruins of my kind, I donât want to try and break through itâ!
King: âI havenât seen anything related to my kind in a while that I havenât seenâ.
King: âI donât wanna lose any part of itâ.
Vee: âWe wonât King, we know it matters much to you, since Lilith brought us, but mostly you for that reasonâ.
Lilith: âIt would be harsh too, ancient history is something that should not be burned or destroyed. So, no idea of that again Hootsiferâ.
Hooty: âAlright sorry, though it would be funâ.
Gus: âSo what now thenâ?
âJean-Luc approaches the gate closer, then as he points towards the gate he looks at Kingâ.
King: âWait⊠that symbol, on the gateâ.
King: âMy old collar had that on itâ.
Cae/Collector: âHey King, look at the hold in the middleâ.
âKing sees a hole that has cracks that flow from itâ.
Gus: âA hole for whatâ?
âKing looks at it for a brief moment, then he eyes widens. He then rushes down the steps and begins to carve on the ground. As everyone looks at him with curiosityâ.
âHe then pressed on the ground as the glyph symbol he carved formed a light. He carries it in his hand towards the gate, as he nods Jean-Luc to pick him up. He inserts the light into the holeâ.
âThe gate then glows, as the lights beam through the cracks, and it begins to slowly open. The light he used returns to his handsâ.
Lilith: âWell, that figuresâ.
Lilith: âBut we have our entranceâ.
Vee: âKing why donât you lead the wayâ.
King: âMe?Â
Vee: âThese are ruins related to you, you should see all of it ahead firstâ.
Gus: âWeâre right behind youâ.
âKing looks at them happily, he grabs Caeâs hand and he steps upon the Gate. Jean-Luc is on his guard as they begin to enter. Everyone follows behind closely, as they enter the ancient history of Kingâs speciesâ...
Chapter 1, Concludes
The Owl House Timeline
-Millennia Ago; The Archivists encounter the Demon Realm and send the Collector to play with the young Titans; The Collector meets the Titan known as the Boiling Isles, and comes across Kingâs egg; The Archivists commence a war against the Titans, who resist their attempts to turn every living thing into scrolls; Due to Titan magic countering their own, the Archivists enlist the help of the local demons, Bill among them, and create the Titan Trappers; An Archivist transforms the Owl Beast into a scroll, only to lose it in the ocean; The Boiling Isles Titan hides King on a remote island, shielded from the view of Archivists, and appoints Jean-Luc as the guardian.Â
-The Collector is imprisoned in the in-between by the Boiling Isles, who is the last Titan alive; Hooty comes into existence after this during a hunt; The Archivists disappear from the isles; The Titan blows out Billâs eardrums in a final battle against the Titan Trappers; The Titan escapes to the other side of the planet and âdiesâ, but due to her heart still beating, lingers as a ghost watching from the in-between; Bill communicates with the Collector using one of the moon discs, worshipping them as the Grand Huntsman, only to lose contact when the disc is broken; The Titan Trappers find the Boiling Isles, but are unable to locate Kingâs egg to free the Collector; Billâs generation eventually dies out until he is the only one left, leading new generations of wannabe Titan Trappers; Hooty leaves the Boiling Islesâ eye.
-Hecktaceous Period; A Stonesleeper is transported to the Titanâs skull and placed as guardian; Luz Noceda briefly visits through a time pool.
-Witches and demons evolve from the Titanâs corpse; They initially learn glyphs by communicating with the Titanâs spirit on her knee, but eventually rely on their bile sacs instead.
-Thousands of Years Ago; The Bat Queen is carved and abandoned by her owner, a giant, after being wounded; She begins looking after other mistreated palismen in solidarity.
-Circa 1600s; The Deadwardian Era begins.
-1613; Young orphans Philip and Caleb Wittebane arrive in Old Gravesfield.
-Evelyn Clawthorne and Flapjack enter the human realm using an archway powered by Titanâs blood, and befriend a teenage Caleb; Evelyn and Caleb communicate using hidden rebuses, and a vial of Titanâs blood is buried outside the archway in Gravesfield.
-As an adult, Caleb moves to the Boiling Islesâ right arm with Evelyn permanently, marrying her. Philip enters the Boiling Isles through Eclipse Lake, emerging at the Knee, and discovers the Ice glyph.
-Circa May 21st, 16XX; Philip begins writing a journal documenting his journey in the Demon Realm.
-Five years after his arrival, Philip returns to Eclipse Lake and retrieves Titanâs Blood to build a Portal back home, emerging the only survivor; Philip absorbs Palismen essence, beginning his curse and slowing his aging; Philip reunites with Caleb, killing him and being chased off by a pregnant Evelyn; Philip discovers the Plant and Fire glyphs.
-1635; New Gravesfield is founded, replacing the townâs older layout.

I will always find it hilarious and sweet that King got the adoption papers and made plans for Eda to adopt him. Bro really got himself adopted into the family and it worked.
My headcannons for the hexside squad design-wise
What I mean by that is what I think the little details adding to their designs are because why not
Luz: Has curlier hair that grows a bit faster than before due to her having long, curly hair when she had her titan form. But she prefers to keep it short. Also her canines are quit sharp now and her eyes glow just a little bit in the dark. And she got that flower tattoo for her dad, as seen in one of the sketches for her future design cause, c'mon, she would so do that.
Gus: As he grew older he began to develop Myopia (condition where you become more nearsighted as you grow, stabilizes in yours 20s) which is why he now wears glasses. He also started growing out his hair to wear dreads as he got inspired by seeing a bunch of humans do it. (Also just another headcannon: He made himself look older in the human realm so he could get a Flapjack tattoo as well, you can see it on his ankle.)
Hunter: The older he gets, the more he looks like Caleb. He also has tried cutting his hair after Belos' death, but it's just always gone back to the same length, so he just decided to keep it that way (same with Raine).
Amity: Likes to dye parts of her hair at a time as she likes how it looks.
Willow: Decided to cut her hair because it always ended up getting in her face whenever she played grudgby, no matter what she did. She also grew taller during puberty, along with gaining more muscle from working out, so she lost some fat as it turned into muscle (and no, this isn't something against her being chubby, this is how bodies work and it looks like that's what happened to her).
Bonus: King: Titans horns can grow with the rest of the horn after being disconnected, as long as it's connected again, kind of like lizards regenerating their limbs (I think this because the missing part of his horn was glued back on and then in the future we see it has grown like the other horn, so I'm just assuming titans are kind of like lizards in that sense.) Also, since titans live for a long time, they grow very slowly, which is why King is still small despite being 12 now.
Remember: There's a good chance none of this is canon, this is just me being goofy and wanting to think about my comfort show after it ended.
