Hawks grunted as he fought his way back to the office, the late winter weather battering him in the form of icy high speed winds and taking him more force than he would usually expend. Everyone at his agency was preparing for his annual 'holiday', though just about all his employees knew that it was related to his rut, but pretended that it was to do with workloads to protect their jobs and income as he finally landed in front of the building. The receptionist still gushed whenever he greeted her, as he threw her a wink and a grin on his way past to the elevators while he idly wondered if she would ever stop reacting in such a cute fan way. The second that the elevator doors closed, his persona and expression fell. He was alone in the small box while he waited to arrive at his office floor, and he was glad to be on his own after what felt like a constant of public persona and work since the previous spring. He rubbed the back of his neck in an attempt to ease some of the tension that was building inside of him, and he closed his eyes to avoid looking at himself in the mirror. It felt like his ruit was starting to impose more on him each year. It would start earlier, and last for longer while being more intense, and this year was already proving to be no exception to the rule. His rut was part of his quirk, but it was the part of his quirk that the Commission were keen to keep tightly out of the public perception due to it being a negative connotation of his anthro quirk. So it was an open secret at his agency that each spring Hawks wouldn't be around, as he heard the ding and quickly checked his reflection before slapping the persona back on his face.
The winged hero grimaced internally, wanting to do anything except be the flirty persona that the Commission had crafted for him, but he expected to be greeted by a floor full of staff who were swanning around with work for him to do just before he disappeared. Only to find that instead, it was all empty, and even his acute hearing was struggling to locate anyone on the floor as he headed down the long corridor towards his office. Until he approached the office in front of his; where you were located. Once he opened the door, he was pleased to see that you were all alone, before he began to take note of your exact state and appearance.
The end of your nose was red and sore, you were looking pale with flushed cheeks, no makeup, and certainly not wearing your best clothes. Plus you had dragged your bin out from its hiding place to next to your chair, and it was overflowing with used tissues, while boxes of tissues and cold medicine covered your desk. While you were currently relaxed back in your chair, eyes closed, and with your phone pressed to your ear as someone continued to squawk on the other end of the phone. It suddenly made sense as to why the floor was surprisingly empty, they were all avoiding you.
"As soon as Hawks stops leering at me, I promise that he will get the last of his pre-holiday paperwork submitted to you today, Mr. President," your scratchy voice drew the hero's attention, before he spotted that your eyes had opened by the tiniest amounts and gave you one of his cheeky grins in response.
Normally, he would have tried to pawn the paperwork off onto a sidekick, or to give you the slip with a claim that he had been summoned out to a job, but seeing you in such a vulnerable state was bringing out a side that Hawks didn't want to publicly admit to existing. You didn't waste any time in ending the call, before raising an eyebrow at the pro as he made no effort to move past your desk and into the privacy of his office.
"You need to fill out the paper and then head home. They've deciphered your behaviour," you sniffed, tugging another tissue free of the box and blowing your nose in an attempt to get Hawks moving since most people had often disappeared at the noise.
Instead, he smirked at you, and leant forward into your personal space, putting the back of his hand across your forehead, before giving you one of his 'disappointed' look as he straightened back up with a shake of his head. Though you didn't seem to miss the small smirk he was wearing as well. "You're running a fever, and what kind of boss would I be if I didn't escort my top employee home?" Keigo had never attempted to cross the boundary of employee and boss before, but then again he had also never been this close to his rut and in your presence. You were attractive and he wasn't an idiot, it was mostly that his rut was starting to colour his behaviour so he had a new found confidence to act on his wants.
"Literally no boss ever would escort their employee home without sullied intentions," you rolled your eyes, and scoffed before diverting your head and coughing into your hand. Hawks wrinkled his nose as you slathered your hands in sanitiser, the smell was highly offensive to him on the best days, never mind at a time when his senses were working overtime. "It's just a cold, Hawks. Plus, I'm off the moment you file that paperwork, so the sooner you do that, then the sooner I can go home and look after myself."
Hawks felt himself bristle at your attitude and approach, especially when you were fixated on going home. The implication of not wanting his help and not wanting him by extension was a slap in the face, but instead of grabbing you there and then, Hawks gave you his trademark dazzling smile. It should have made you fawn over him in giddiness as every other person in Japan would have done in your situation, instead, you shook your head and turned your focus back to your computer screen, probably to deal with someone else who wanted Hawks, but the pro hero could feel his anger and bitterness at rejection simmering away just beneath the surface. He wasn't used to people brushing him off and treating him as you were in the full face of his charm. They would normally be falling over themselves at this point, as Hawks made the strategic decision to leave you to your work, though a few feathers easily scattered across your office to keep an eye on you to allow him to pack up in preparation of his rut.
His feathers didn't impede you directly. He made sure of that. The last thing that Hawks needed was for you to have your guard up around him. He wanted you to think that he was just finishing up and being his usual self, but the reality was that he was getting more and more wound up because his mate was being stubborn about not needing Keigo to pamper her while she was sick. It was easy to get into your bag given the chaos that was happening on your desk, and for his feathers to tip your birth control pills into the bin and hidden by tissues. Before Hawks then submitted the half-assed report and swiftly shut down his computer.
He shut the door with an unnecessary force, making you jump and kick over your bag with your foot, causing the contents to spill out over the floor. Before you turned around and glared at him before you then started gathering everything back in, while Hawks shut your station down for you. He didn't need anyone getting into your computer in your joint absence, you did too much work for him and the Commission, before you were upright again and trying to get him to react to your glare.
"Hawks, I have a cold . I am not that sick that I need you to take me home, I am perfectly capable of doing that myself," you started, before a feather pressed itself to your lips and silenced you. You were caught off guard, and the action forced you to actually look at your boss for the first time that day. You weren't an idiot, nor were you blind. Hawks was arguably the hottest bachelor on the scene, but your contract explicitly stated that dating any pro-hero or sidekick would end up in you being terminated. You enjoyed your job, and Hawks paid you a handsome salary given his position in the charts, which meant that you could live extremely comfortably. But this was the first time in all your years that you were this close to a rutting Hawks, and you were starting to feel like prey being hunted. He tilted your chin up to meet his hungry gaze, and watched as you swallowed nervously. He smiled at you dangerously, and you were already starting to curse that you hadn't taken the time to learn about what a rut actually was instead of just accepting the vague explanation given by the Commission.
"I am not like any other boss, chickadee," his smile widened, as you realised that the winged hero had you pinned in the office space without a way around him as he flexed his wings to make a point. "I've submitted my paperwork, so let's go!" His grin did nothing to reassure you that you would be returned safely to your home that evening, especially given the fiery glint in his eyes. You were already mentally preparing yourself to be out of a job on your return, maybe Todoroki would be able to afford your services to keep you in your current level of comfort as you shakily grabbed your handbag and phone, before you were wrapped up in your boss' arms and flying across the city. You were mentally scolding yourself about not checking your station had logged you out, and too busy to notice which direction Hawks was flying in, though he was flying at a speed that was impossible to look at anything. So you resorted to burrowing your face into the crook of his neck, and privately glad that you hadn't bothered with makeup since it would have been ruined by this point.
Hawks kept you tucked in safely against him for the duration, and didn't engage you in conversation. Not that you were airborne for long enough to come to terms with what a rutting Hawks really meant. You were slightly dazed as Hawks touched down on the huge balcony on top of one of the tallest buildings in the vicinity, and the windows gave an impression that you were about to see one of the largest penthouses that the city had to offer. You knew that Hawks was doing well for himself, but you'd never imagined just how rich, as you realised that the door could only be opened with a retinal scanner as Hawks leant forward to it before you were then being ushered inside promptly. Then you were locked inside before you could question anything that was happening around you.
Hawks quickly peeled you out of your outer layers, leaving you in a t-shirt and your trousers before he followed suite, and left your bag to rest on top of one of his kitchen counters. He then pulled you through to a large family bathroom before you could find your thought process to question him.
He smiled at you, as one did to a lover with a soft stroke of your cheek, before he began to run a hot bath. Alarm bells were going off at this situation, and you could feel the panic starting to rise. If you could get him to let you go, then you could salvage your job as you spun around to face him and plead with him.
Instead, he slid his arms around your waist, and nuzzled into your hair, as your body started to relax into his. Your physical reactions weren't helping your mental state. But you also figured it was a side effect of working so much and living a single life. You were so starved of affection that your body and heart didn't know what to do. You would probably be best getting a normal boyfriend, someone who worked in an office and wasn't a pro hero that constantly put themselves in danger and would actually turn up to dates instead of leaving you behind all the time.
"Hawks-" You began, before you felt him tense sharply around you.
"Keigo," he corrected. His tone was far from the usual flirtaous honey, instead it was like sandpaper.
"...Keigo," you repeated after him, trying to keep calm given your situation despite the position you found yourself in. "I need to go home and look after myself. I'm sick," you reminded him gently, aware that he wasn't thinking clearly.
Much to your surprise, the pro let go of you with a smile that almost seemed patronising, and then he gently pushed you towards the bath before turning to leave you alone. "I know you're sick, chickadee. That's why I brought you in here. A long, hot soak will do you good while I phone food in."
True to his word, you were left on your own. And between the flight over, the cold and the prospect of needing to look for a new job once this had calmed down, then you decided that taking advantage of Keigo's money would help. The bath was full of hot water and bubbles from his stupidly expensive products, as you stripped and lowered yourself into the large tub, which was built to accommodate his wings. You could lower yourself properly into the water and let it soak into your tired muscles as you closed your eyes and rested your head against the edge of his tub.
A knock to the door pulled you out of your doze in the steamy room, along with a call that food had arrived. It also brought you to the realisation that you didn't have anything clean to wear, before you spotted that Hawks had left a neatly folded pile of clothes to wear just inside the door, and had removed the clothes you were wearing earlier for good measure. It was all your boss' stuff, but you couldn't exactly go strutting around naked in his house while he was this close to rut as you dried off and dressed in it before heading out.
You were loathe to admit it, but the long soak in a hot bath had really helped you to feel better, as you padded across the living room. Then a long and low wolf whistle broke your illusion that Hawks was just a caring boss and wanted you to look after yourself. He kept his distance respectful, gesturing for you to take a seat on his ridiculously expensive sofa, and the TV was playing some anime as you sank into the plush seating. You watched your boss with narrowed eyes, as he headed over from the kitchen space while carrying a bucket of fried chicken, your favourite lunch order from the ramen shop around the corner and a few drink options for you both. The glint in Hawks' eyes was nowhere to be found, which let your defence down. Maybe it had been all his rut talking, and he'd managed to settle again and was just making sure that you would be okay before he went off-grid for a few weeks. You weren't paying much attention to what was happening around you as you tucked into the food, finding yourself famished after accidentally skipping lunch, and drank the tea that Hawks had kindly made for you.
"... Need to keep my mate happy," he had been chirping away happily next to you, before the phrase made you zone back in on the conversation.
"Mate?" You repeatedly back, a small part of your brain already starting to panic and telling you to get out of the apartment regardless of your state of dress. Your back straightened, and you suddenly felt keenly aware of the lack of distance between you and Hawks. He also seemed to sense the change in your attitude, as that glimmer was back in his eyes and more dangerous than ever.
"Yes, mate," he repeated, putting the remnants of your food on the coffee table in front of the sofa and then leaning over so that his body framed yours. He was able to catch your chin between his thumb and forefinger before you could slip away, and forced you to look at him. His smile didn't reach his eyes, and the scene was leaving you feeling exposed for letting yourself be put in this situation.
"I'm not your mate," you were panicking, as your brain started to kick into fight-or-flight mode and trying to slowly pull yourself out from the cage that Hawks had made using his wings and arms over you.
"You smell like me; you're wearing my clothes; you've never refused any of my advances over the past few months," he listed, and crawled forward to keep you pinned down against the sofa.
"What advances?!" Your calm exterior was shattered, before Hawks pinned your wrists down above your head, keeping you from escaping him as he tilted his head to watch you with curiosity, and to leave you at his mercy.
"I proved that I could take care of you and our chicks," he started, his eyes roaming over you and drinking your prone form in greedily. You started to realise that the high salary wasn't just because Hawks was a nice guy and had you working long hours, and those lunches 'on the agency' weren't his way of apologising for yet another meal time spent working through his paperwork. "You kept all those pretty rocks I got you," he cooed, referring to the glass bowl you had full of gemstones and pebbles, which had started because you didn't want to offend Hawks by not keeping them. "You always said 'thank you' to me for the flowers. You understand the hero lifestyle. You haven't been seeing anyone since you started working for me," he continued, as you began to realise that it had never had been about Hawks just being a nice boss or a nice guy, but his twisted way of courting you.
And you'd never rejected him or his presents.
"My job contract-" you croaked, before Hawks silenced you with a doting, soft kiss.
"You're over thinking things," he crooned, and started to nuzzle into your neck. You could feel your body starting to heat up, as you squeezed your thighs together in the face of being held in such a thought provoking position, and it had been so long since you had had the chance to spend time with your favourite vibrator. "Did you really think I hadn't noticed the way you'd look at me when I "forgot" my shirt? Or how upset you would get when I got injured or disappeared for longer than I should have? Those weren't the reactions of someone who's just an employee," the soft kisses being left against your neck were making your thoughts fuzzy as a groan slipped out unintentionally and you tilted your head upwards. "You'd always check in on me, especially when you realised that no one else had noticed my real mood," he continued, purposefully keeping his voice at a soft murmur. "And don't think I didn't notice the way you'd squeeze your thighs whenever I would do those swimwear shoots. Did you really think I needed my cute secretary there for any reason except to tease her?"
"I can't afford-" you tried again, your eyes firmly shut in a vain attempt to stop the influence of the hot pro who had you pinned under him on his sofa.
"I can." He spoke firmly, forcing you to open your eyes to look at him. "The Commission went through your background and connections. You're cleaner than most heroes. They're also concerned that our proximity is causing the ruts to last for longer because you're an attractive and fertile woman. So, I was tasked with ascertaining your interest," he smirked a little, and rocked his hips forward. You gasped sharply at the stroke against your clit, and blushed furiously as though you'd been caught with your hand in the cookie jar. "I've been told that my rut hormones make it much more intense for my partner, but you'll find it out for yourself," he continued to kiss down your neck, as you started to realise that he had picked these clothes out for you on purpose. The t-shirt was a deep v neck, and you were guessing that Hawks knew he could easily tear the fabric if it was starting to get offensive. You could feel your eyes starting to water, you had always promised yourself that you would never let yourself fall victim to some hero's flirtaous advances, before the kiss on your lips brought you back to the room as you thought you saw the first glimmer of Keigo instead of Hawks in his eyes. He lifted one hand from pinning your wrists down, and lovingly stroked your cheek. "I'm not going to need anyone but you from now on," it felt like a promise, gently tilting your head up to leave your lips ripe for his picking as you whimpered softly. "Just you and me," honied words on the lips of a master as you felt your resolve crumble.
"Be gentle with me," you begged.
He wasted no time. He scooped you up in his arms, holding you flush to him and threatening to suffocate you with his smell as he carried you through to his bedroom. If you had been asked beforehand, you would have assumed that he would have a large, yet unmade bed and a huge walk-in wardrobe to accommodate all his fashion. Instead, you could only describe it as a futon with a nest of blankets and bedding in the middle of it. You only caught sight of a couple more doors before you were lowered gently to the centre of the nest, and then Keigo descended on you. His kisses were needy, demanding your affection as you began to chase him. You could feel everything starting to dampen on you, and rubbed your thighs together. His fingers slid against your stomach, before he was pulling the t-shirt off you, and starting to explore your newly exposed skin in awe.
You gasped as his fingers tugged on a nipple, before your chest arched out to fill his palm. His chuckle washed over you, and he nibbled up your neck as you could feel him watching his hand, admiring your reactions as he continued to massage and tease your breast, before weighing it in his hand. You didn't hear what he said, before his attention was turned to your neglected breast, and he decided to start kissing his way down to it.
"I want to spend plenty of time with you," he spoke up, before a hand slid down your stomach, to where the offensive shorts were sitting on your hips. He knew that you weren't wearing any underwear, he hadn't given you any, and you could feel the damp material sticking to your thighs. Was it always this warm in here? You could feel sweat starting to form on your skin and roll down as you rolled your hips up to meet his, and to make a point. He came off your now wet breast with a 'pop' and a chuckle, and looked up at your face as he slid his hand under the elasticated waistband. His finger tips walked down your lower stomach, and to the top of your thigh, before he brushed over and down. You groaned in relief as he teased you with the briefest of touches along your slit, and then rocked up to make your point.
"Mhm, I'm getting to it," he murmured hotly down your ear before taking your earlobe into his mouth and nibbling on it. He took a moment before sliding a single, long finger into your pussy and groaning loudly. You were soaked, and trying to stimulate yourself on his finger. Keigo hadn't wanted this to be about him, he wanted to make you feel good, but when you did these things, then it was getting impossible to think about anything except just sinking his cock into you and ruining sex with anyone else. Then you bucked your hips up again and squeezed on his finger.
A low and threatening Alpha growl slipped out, that made you freeze in place and it made Keigo's job of stripping you both much easier too. Feeling your skin against his was as soothing as it was invigorating, he would never admit it but he had often daydreamer of how this would feel, and his imagination couldn't hold a candle to how it felt to really have you underneath him. You willingly slid your arms around him, before meeting him halfway for a passionate kiss as your naked bodies slotted together. His cock ached and felt heavy, before he brushed against your inner thigh and all his former grace was nowhere to be found.
Keigo could feel himself getting lost to the rut, his mind clouded at the prize hanging in front of him and you were so pliant for him. Then your hand brushed over his cheek, tilting his head up so that your eyes could meet. Your expression was one of concern, worried that he was regretting his actions before he leaned in and kissed you slowly as he lifted your right thigh and then slowly entered into you. He smirked a little to feel you squeeze and convulsed around him, especially as he finally bottomed out, and you broke off the kiss for air with a gasp.
"Fuck," your swearing was too cute, especially the way that you rolled your hips and squeezed his shaft again. "Be careful."
"Mm, you feel really good around my cock, chickadee," he murmured, kissing down your neck and starting to suck on your exposed skin.
"You're bigger than the last guy," you groaned, before spotting the animalistic glint in his expression at that comment.
"Oh baby, I'm going to have you seeing stars," he promised with a purr. You swallowed nervously, your right leg still being pinned back towards your torso and leaving you almost entirely at his mercy, before his right arm slid underneath your back and forcing you to arch. Which was pushing him deeper without either of you trying.
His pace was merciless. His hips thundered into yours, your thigh finally freed up as his left arm slid between you and toyed with your clit. You had to cling to him with your thighs before Keigo started to toss you around and sat up on his haunches, and seated you on his lap after you'd cum for the first time. His wings were curled around you both, giving you a privacy curtain as he bounced you furiously along his shaft, groaning as you tightened around him and then your nails started to dig into the top of his back. You had tried to plant your feet to give yourself purchase to bounce against his pace, but that was Keigo's job as he decided to lower your back to his nest again. He kept your legs wrapped around his hips, and smirked down at you as you screamed out on your third orgasm, before he couldn't hold it off any more and painted the inside of your cunt with his cum. He dug his fingers into your hips, rolling himself deeper as his knot popped, and stretched you out for a surprise.
You were both panting, lying down in the nest and sheens of sweat coating you both as you started to realise that something felt different. Keigo chuckled softly, nuzzling into your neck and soaking up your scent and keeping you close to him.
"I need to clean up," you grumbled softly, which was adorable to the hero before he kissed your forehead.
"You can't. Give me ten minutes," he replied, and rested his head against yours. Though true to form, you tried to move anyway. "Chickadee, that's a knot. It's a plug designed to keep my cum in. It'll go down in ten minutes and then you can go and clean up," he grunted, and flooded the room full of his smell as any animal would to placate their mate. "Then again, in ten minutes I could be fucking you senseless, but the point is, while my knot is inflated, then you and I aren't going anywhere alone."
You grumbled, but stopped trying, which made things much more comfortable again for Keigo. He resumed nibbling and sucking on your neck, finding having you with him a soother for his rut as he was able to think clearly at this stage. Not that it would last.
It was two weeks before either of you could leave the nest without Keigo panicking that his mate was abandoning him and then fucking you senseless while you were in the bath or over the sink. And you didn't dare bring up birth control after seeing his fiercely feral side about you leaving the nest during the first day of his rut. You knew that pregnancy was a real possibility given how much you were saturated in his cum, but you decided to remain hopeful that would get lucky. The Commission had adjusted your job description, and your contract to reflect that Keigo and you were 'compatible' as they described it. Though in reality, your office had shifted from the agency building to the penthouse, and you'd moved in as well. It was all arranged by Keigo, who was hugely apologetic about how events had transpired the day his rut started, and he footed the bill before he took you out on the promised dates. It was all in the wrong order, but then again, the test in your hand was also telling you that things were being done in reverse as you began to wonder if he knew on a more animalistic level.
Keigo beamed as he landed on the balcony, and spotted you on the sofa, the laptop open in front of you and you were on the phone yet again to the Commission. Though the gestures you were making through the windows before you hung up on the phone only stood to make the winged hero giggle, and then he entered through the door.
"I missed you," he crooned, bouncing over and wrapping his arms around you, pausing only to kick his shoes off and shake his jacket free. He loved to feel you against his skin, it was a reminder that you were real, before he paused and caught sight of your face, and his smile was gone. "Chickadee?"
You couldn't find the words, instead you dug the test out that had fallen between the sofa cushions. You swallowed nervously, you know a lot had been said during the rut about children, but that was the rut. You had come to learn that a rutting Keigo, a normal Keigo and Hawks were all three separate personas, and normal Keigo had made no mention of kids. You knew that Hawks had said in his interviews about wanting them, but you knew that he was schooled to say that. He beamed brightly, threatening to blind you and kissed all over your face, chirping about how lucky he was to have such a great mate and how good of a mother you would be. You could feel the hidden tension dissapate, leaning into him as you started to cry. You had already decided that you wanted to keep the baby, with or without Keigo, but he was already talking to the non-existent bump excitedly, and beaming up at you.
"Your mama is so gorgeous, and I know you're going to be so beautiful when you get here baby bird, but you're going to be nice to your mama and cause as few problems as possible. Daddy has a lot of work to do," he grinned, cuddling you around the waist. "But he's going to make sure that you and mama are safe, because that's daddy's job. And I'll have to tell you all about what I do for work when I come home." He babbled, as you stroked your fingers through his fluffy hair. "Though, daddy will need to make an honest woman of your mama first," he winked up at you and laughed as you flushed bright red, before swotting him on the back.

Hawks sighed heavily, leaning back in his office desk chair, elbows propping on the armrests. He rubbed his tired eyes, tilting his head back, attempting to avoid eye contact with the stack of paperwork that lay out before him.
Every muscle in his body ached with exhaustion. It felt like he had been sitting in this same spot for days, poring over reports and documents in an endless cycle of busy work. As the number-two hero, the public demanded nothing but his very best. They expected him to always be alert and swift in responding to any crisis, dealing with volatile situations and dangerous villains with calm precision.
But they didn't see this part. They didn't witness the countless late nights spent filling out forms, compiling statistics, and attending meetings after meetings. No cameras captured the headaches induced by mind-numbing bureaucracy or the frustration of dealing with petty politics. This was the hidden cost of his elevated rank—an incessant paper-pushing grindstone that wore him down more than any actual fight ever could.
Slowly dragging his hands down his face, Hawks sighed again as the aches and knots of tension complained loudly in his neck and shoulders. For a brief moment, he considered using his feathers to shred just a few stray documents, to do less work.
He stretched his arms over his head and rolled his tense muscles, his wings fluttering restlessly behind him. All he wanted at that moment was to forget. To spread his wings and fly through open skies, feeling the wind ruffle through his feathers as he left his troubles far below.
Tilting his chair back as far as it would go, he gave a long-suffering look at the piles of work that towered precariously around him, silently pleading with it all to spontaneously catch fire or simply vanish into thin air. With a resigned sigh, Hawks dropped all four chair legs back to the floor and reluctantly pulled the topmost file towards him once more, bracing himself for another grind of the ever-turning wheel.
Hawks rubbed his tired eyes once more, feeling his motivation drain away with each mundane paragraph he read. At this rate, he'd be here all night and well into the morning. With a groan, he tossed the file back onto the pile, temporarily defeated. Maybe a quick break was what he needed to recharge his focus.
Pushing away from his desk, Hawks stood and stretched out his cramped body to its full height, his wings unfolding to their full span. A midnight flight around the city was just what he needed. The cool night air and darkened streets would do wonders for clearing his cluttered mind.
Stepping out onto his office balcony, Hawks took a few steps back, then launched himself into the sky with his wings. He flew high, circling up towards the crowning heights of the skyscrapers that shone below. Closing his eyes briefly, he took a deep breath of the fresher air, feeling tensions beginning to melt away already.
As he glided back down towards street level, Hawks scanned the sidewalks lazily while lost in thought. He was mulling over the options when movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention.
Your shadow slipped between alleyways, scanning for any civilians in the area. Suddenly flashes of red nearing a rooftop drew your eye—a familiar winged silhouette.
Going on a nearby rooftop, you spotted Hawks looking down, trying to find who or what he saw.
You and Hawks used to know each other pretty well in your teen years when you dreamed of being a great hero. So when you were selected by the Commission to become one, you were ecstatic. But from day one, Keigo Takami made things... complicated.
You two went way back to your training days, though you mostly kept your head down back then. Once in the pro scene though, Takami always found ways to rile you up during sessions, whether with sly taunts or risky stunts that pushed protocol to the limit.
Part of you wanted to throttle that arrogant asshole, but another part couldn't deny the thrill he made you feel.
Late nights spent training turned into more..private scenarios. For a time, it was nice to find solace in each other. But then came the ruling—you'd been deemed "not hero material" after one mistake, ruining your future. That's when Takami tried to connect with you again, but the hero commission wouldn't even allow him to be close to you to not damage the reputation he already made with the public.
"You're up rather late for a hero," you whispered directly into his ear, barely suppressing a chuckle at his startled flinch. Golden eyes met yours warily, yet he made no move to escape our intimate embrace.
"I'm off duty," was his measured reply. "And you?" Smoke clung thick to the memories in his eyes.
Your fingers, carefully gloved, traced the proud arch of his wings, feeling tension bleed away slowly. "Care for some company, Keigo?"
He held your gaze steadily, considering. At last he nodded, extending a hand. “Not that I can shake you off anyway,” he replied, a faint smirk playing on his lips.
You sat together on the secluded rooftop, settling close against one another. As you caught up, you both couldn't help but feel deprived of each other's touch; it had been far too long since you'd seen one another face to face. Sure, he'd heard about you through others in the commission, but being here together was different somehow.
When your voices at last fell silent, a gentle touch turned your chin to meet Hawks' searching eyes. "Y/N…" he murmured, leaning in so your faces were mere inches apart. One of his wings stretched out to block any view from the street below, enveloping you both in its feathery embrace.
Hawks closed the remaining distance between you, pressing his lips to yours in a soft yet insistent kiss.
One hand came up to cradle the back of your head, fingers threading into your hair, as the other wrapped around your waist to draw you flush against his body. You felt even better than he remembered.
When your lips parted under him, Hawks held back a groan as he rested his forehead against yours as you both panted for air. Wisps of steam rose between the two of you in the chill night.
If he tasted you fully, it would undo his last shred of willpower.
“You're going to be the end of me.." Hawks murmured thickly. Already, he ached to have more, but taking you here against the railing would be too brazen, even for his recklessness.
"Then take me somewhere more...private then," you shot back in a sinful whisper.
With a sly smile, Hawks swept you into his arms in a bridal carry, wings already prepared for launch. "Hold on tight.”
Hawks kicked off from the roof of the building and took flight, relishing your tight grip around his shoulders. The thrill of having you in his arms sent adrenaline surging through his veins.
He landed lightly on the balcony of his high-rise apartment, still holding you securely against his chest. Your masked face was turned up to meet his gaze.
"I.. I really missed you," Hawks murmured, pressing you back against the wall with his body. He caged you in with outspread wings, feathers gently ghosting your skin.
"Me too.." you replied. Your hands came up to roam his body just as eagerly.
Hawks captured your lips in a searing kiss, conveying all his pent-up needs and desires without restraint. This was wrong on so many levels, and yet he'd never felt more alive.
Kicking open the balcony doors, he swept you inside and laid you down on his plush sofa. His hands worked busily to remove your mask, wanting nothing between you and him; clothing fell piece by piece until nothing was left.
"Say you want this," Hawks pleaded roughly, desperate for your answer.
Your intoxicating laughter rang out as you pulled him against your body. "I want all of you, Keigo."
Hawks' hands roamed your body eagerly, relearning every curve as his lips traveled along your jawline. You sighed contentedly, arching into his touch while undoing the fastenings of his hero costume with practiced expertise.
Slowly, methodically, he kissed his way down the delicate column of your throat. Hawks lingered there to suckle your rapid pulse, eliciting breathy moans. His name falling from your lips in such a manner sent fresh spikes of arousal through him.
As you lay bare under him, Hawks paused to simply take in the sublime vision of your naked form, illuminated by the moonlight. "You're so..beautiful," he whispered in awe, tracing idle patterns upon your sensitized flesh.
Your hands delved into the downy feathers at his wings' bases, eliciting a guttural groan. The way you caressed his most sensitive areas, teasing but not quite enough, tested Hawks' faltering control. He nipped lightly at the swell of your breast in retaliation.
Tracing a tortuous path down your torso with wet kisses and love bites, Hawks' fingers dipped between your thighs. He chuckled at discovering your slick arousal, already swollen and desperate for friction. Slowly, he circled your clit, gathering your arousal onto his fingers.
"Please..." you begged wantonly, bucking your hips to chase more contact. But Hawks would loathe to grant your unspoken request so easily. He continued his maddening ministrations, coaxing you higher and higher with expert precision. Only when your keening cries bordered on anguish did he finally decide to sink two fingers deep inside.
The powerful rhythm he set drove you swiftly towards the peak. Hawks swallowed your hoarse screams of completion, savoring your intimate essence on his tongue.
"I've missed this..," he murmured, pressing a tender kiss on your sensitive bundle of nerves.
Then his tongue delved into your slick arousal with deft, practiced strokes. Your responsive sighs and the way you grabbed Takami's hair only spurred him onward in his devotions.
He alternated between broad, flat licks and focused flicks directly over your clit. When Keigo very lightly grazed his teeth along your folds, you keened and bucked again into his ministrations wildly. He hummed his approval, sending vibrations through your core.
It did not take long for you to climb once more towards the precipice, unraveling beautifully beneath his skilled mouth. Hawks drank deeply from your release, prolonging each aftershock with slow caresses of his tongue. Only when your quivering stopped did he withdraw, his eyes twinkling mischievously as he cleaned his glistening chin.
As he swirled his tongue around his lips, savoring the last hints of you, you gazed up at him with heavy-lidded eyes. Your chest still heaved in languid aftershocks of pleasure, your limbs boneless and slack upon the plush cushions.
"Come here," you beckoned hoarsely, crooking a finger. Your body cried out to be filled after such thorough worship, muscles reflexively clenching around nothing inside.
Hawks obeyed without hesitation, crawling up to drape himself over your welcoming form once more. You gripped his shoulders firmly, flipping your positions with a playful show of wiry strength, and smiled down at him wickedly.
Grasping his aching length and rubbing the tip of his cock had him seeing stars. Hawks groaned unabashedly.
Slowly, you let him inside, savoring each velvet glide. Hawks bucked helplessly, claws scrabbling for purchase against the cushions as your sensual walls milked his length.
The pleasure you drew from Hawks was exquisite torture. Each roll of your hips sent fresh shockwaves through his twitching member, shattering his composure. He was reduced to begging, his nails scratched weakly at your thighs as you rode him to the brink.
"Please...I need to come," Hawks gasped, moving his hips upward in frantic little thrusts. His cock throbbed painfully with the desperate need for release.
You smiled down at him cruelly. "Beg for it." Your lips formed the words deliciously slowly, knowing their effect.
Hawks keened, wings fluttering uselessly. "Please let me cum p-please I wanna cum, I need..to please..”
Suddenly, you bore down on him, grinding your pelvis against his in brutal circles. The new angle sent Hawks reaching his high with a raw cry.
You quickly let him pull out as his cock pulsed and thick ropes of seed spilled forth, splattering his taut stomach in pearly ribbons. Hawks shuddered through wave after wave; your continued help milking every last drop from him.
Breathless and spent, he could only lay pliantly as you leaned down to collect his essence on your fingers. Your wicked tongue flicked out to taste, making Hawks twitch anew in oversensitivity.
You smiled softly, your expression gentling as you gazed upon Hawks' flushed, panting form. His chest still heaved mightily in the aftermath of his climax.
Reverently, you traced light patterns on his ribs and pecs with delicate fingers, soothing away any last tremors. Hawks hummed appreciatively at your tender touch, grasping one of your hands to press a lingering kiss to the palm.
"Come here, Birdie," you murmured, beckoning him into your open embrace. Hawks complied readily, nuzzling into the crook of your neck with a contented sigh. Your legs tangled together comfortably as his wings folded around you both like a feathery blanket.
No threats of capture or duty rules could penetrate the sanctity of that moment. There, held securely within your arms, Hawks felt at once protected yet free—freed from the shackles of self-doubt and expectation. He belonged, body and soul, to one who accepted him fully without judgment or demand.
Drowsiness began to take hold as your rhythmic caresses through soft-down lulled Hawks towards slumber. "Stay?" he mumbled into your skin, his voice blurred by oncoming sleep yet filled with gentle hope.
You kissed his forehead, followed by a whisper, "I’ll stay, promise." was the sweetest assurance Hawks could wish for.

he’d never felt less of a man than he did right now. the only thing that made him who he was was gone. it didn’t matter how many times others tried to reason with him, to tell him he’s still the same person as before, the reality was that he’d never be who he was before.
all he could hear was the underlying lies. he would never be the same; he knew that, and they knew that as well. their words meant nothing to him, nothing at all.
walking the streets while adjusting to his new life, he could still feel it deep within his bones. that tingling and the need to help whenever the cries of those in need of a hero rung out. yet he was helpless. what kind of hero could he be if he didn’t have his wings?
he spent many days in bed, not wanting to get up despite the protests of people around him and his own mind. choosing to shut himself away until he didn’t know what day it was. he knew he shouldn’t, but what else could he do? everything felt like it was closing in and suffocating him from the inside out.
he was his own worst enemy at times.
“keigo, i know you don’t want to talk at the moment, but when you want to, I’m here”. the way you sounded so defeated broke him more than he already was. you didn’t deserve to go through being shut out when all you were trying to do was help. to be there for him and offer your support despite not understanding what he was going through.
though, part of you should. after all, you were quirkless. one of the small minority who was born without a quirk, but you never let that stop you from anything you ever did. you proved yourself time again and even managed to rise up through the ranks as one of the few pro heroes who rightfully earned their spot without the aid of your abilities.
that’s what made him fall in love and treasure every moment he had with you. you were able to defy the odds and be where you were right now, a formidable pro. maybe he shouldn’t be so hard on himself and take a page from your book.
slowly, taking each day as it came, that’s when you started to see a change. the old keigo who you fell in love with began to show through the small details of things. the touches, the words, the kisses. he was gaining more confidence and accepting that he was going to be quirkless for the rest of his life.
even when eri tried and failed to help with her quirk. he accepted it. accepted it purely because you were his own hero, the one who showed him that a quirk wasn’t what made him who he was. sure, it helped him whenever he needed to save others; his fierce wings were a force to be reckoned with.
of course you missed the way he’d use a few feathers to deliver gifts and notes to you, goofily smiling at the look on your face before you smiled back at him. the way his wings would wrap around you at night and keep you safe, bringing you closer to the man who you loved with your very soul and more.
right now, though, you stood in front of a door in the office you’d been called to, hand resting on the handle before pushing it down. the small click of the door latch unlocking sounded just before you pushed the door, shutting it behind you. looking up, you smiled softly before stepping forward.
there he stood, looking out at the street, the man who you loved more than anything in the world.
the former number two pro known as the wing hero: hawks. the man who was now the new president of the hero public safety commission. the man who, quirkless or not, you’d support no matter what he did.
approaching the desk, you stepped around and continued until you reached his side. humming softly as he turned, arms wrapping around you as he pulled you in for a hug, placing a gentle kiss on your lips as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
you knew what he was trying to say; sometimes his actions spoke louder than words ever could. pulling back from him slightly, you unwrapped your arms and placed your hands on his face, cupping as you ran your thumbs across his cheeks. proud smile showing as you looked at him, taking in the battle scars that were dotted in his features.
“i'm proud of you and i love you too, keigo. i always will”.
“thank you, my hero, and ditto”.

he'd been watching you for what felt like weeks, taking mental notes of your routine, who you spent time with, and what you ate. every single little thing. being the daughter of a highly sought pro-hero, you were bound to attract attention one way or another and that is exactly what drew them to you. you were the perfect one they needed for their plan. he'd been tasked with one thing and one thing only.
to kidnap you.
for whatever reason, the villainous group he belonged to wanted to make your father pay for what he'd done in society. call it bullshit hero work or whatever, they wanted to make him suffer. breaking him down to his lowest point before ending him once and for all. after observing, your routine seemed a little too easy for him to infiltrate, that was obvious after watching you. and infiltrate is what he did.
the perfect opportunity came up at the cliché moment of you walking alone past an alleyway. you had been so busy all day with work and other things, that you decided to forgo your usual route in favour of one that would help you arrive at your final destination a lot quicker. everything passed in a blur as you felt yourself being dragged to the side, landing with a thud against the damp floor. “fuck, hey what’s…”.
before you had a chance to finish your words, to push yourself up off the ground and take in what was happening, you felt yourself being tackled and pricked by something, eyelids growing heavy. vision blurring slightly as you let your head drop, trying to shake yourself from whatever you could feel taking over you.
all the while eyes watching in pure amusement before they scooped you up, taking you to where you were needed the most.
the blurry vision and heaviness began to clear as you woke up, blinking your eyes to try and help yourself focus. scanning around, you took in the unfamiliar surroundings, swallowing the hard lump in your throat as that sense of uneasiness began to claw at your skin.
letting out a small huff, you glanced down at your wrists and tested the binding that kept them together. after a few seconds, you gave up trying, the binding tied too tight for you to loosen even a little. deciding to look around you once more, you scanned the area again, narrowing your eyes at a certain area of darkness. you could see something lurking there, something that wasn’t a part of your imagination. golden-brown just barely visible.
golden-brown eyes that looked oh so familiar yet the reason why escaped you. "hey, you in the shadows, who are you exactly?".
a low chuckle echoed around the room, causing you to shiver slightly before a figure stepped forward, emerging from the spot you were glaring at a moment ago. your eyes widened in a mixture of emotions as you took in the figure walking towards you.
there was no chance in hell he was alive after all this time.
not from the stories you had heard from your father about his demise and how the world lost an impressive young hero. only, right now, that’s what those words seemed like. stories. made up words that got lost in translation at one point, probably from being spoken by one too many mouths. "how the fuck?".
stood there in the flesh, ready to be seen once again was the winged hero, hawks. except, the hero no longer wore the crown of justice he had worked so hard to achieve, to be the youngest pro hero of his generation with his very own agency.
instead, he wore the crown of destruction, enjoying his new life as a villain. after all, being able to take what you want and cause mayhem while at it seemed to ignite something deep inside of him, something long forgotten.
keigo loved the look of both shock and confusion as he walked towards you, wings twitching slightly as his eyes stayed fixated on you. the sight of you helpless and somewhat bound spurred him on, tongue running across his lips as he stopped just short of you. crouching down, he reached out his hand and placed it under your chin, thumb running across your skin before he rose to his feet, lifting your head at the same time.
keeping your eyes trained on him, you watched him carefully, every move that both he and his wing made. of course, you were trying to figure out what he wanted from you and why. "i've been told to use whatever means necessary to get you to side with us, (y/n)-".
letting his hand drop from your chin he began to drag his fingers down your neck, his touch lingering on your chest for a moment before moving further down your body. a shiver spread down your spine and across your being, out of desire or fear you didn’t know yet, but it took you by surprise, a smirk tugging at his lips as he caught it. you prayed it was the latter. "-that way we'll have that pesky dad of yours come to try and save his precious daughter. then we'll strike, ending him".
hands disappeared from your body for a moment before returning, hands taking hold of your breasts and kneading. biting your lip you let your head drop slightly, trying anything in your power to not let any sounds escape, much to the enjoyment of kiego.
he’d been watching you for some time and now he was fascinated with you. other than the group's mission, he had his own mission, to make you his no matter what. to mark every single part of you inside and out.
cursing yourself, you tried to move slightly but that only spurred the blonde male on. you could feel yourself slowly fall for the pleasure building in your gut and part of you hated yourself for that. hands detached from your chest before travelling, one gripping your throat and squeezing slightly, hot breath fanning across your ear. "how about we kick this up a notch, princess?".
his words had you shivering as you felt the bindings on your wrists loosening, being tossed to the side as you nodded, not trusting yourself to speak out just yet.
clothes were soon discarded, scattered across the floor like useless pieces of material as skin touched skin. the coolness of the room and the floor seemed to pale in comparison to the heat you felt all over your body. the more kiego ran his fingers over your skin, the more you ached. the way he had the pad of his thumb rubbing your clit in circles and he stretched you in his fingers, curling up into that sweet spot that had your vision blurring.
he was a villain, so this should have felt wrong on all levels but deep down, you knew you loved the thrill. you'd always admired him back when he was a hero, how amazing he was and how useful his quirk was. you were told that having a dad as a pro hero, he should have been your favourite, but you couldn’t help falling for the charm of hawks.
you spent many nights slipping your fingers into your already drenched cunt, working yourself at the thought of him destroying you in ways you'd imagine he would as a lover. you figured he’d be slow to begin with, gradually building up the pace until he had you folded, legs numb from his harsh thrusts. those same nights spent crying out his name in the throes of your pleasurable high. "how about we skip right to the good part, princess?".
despite having your mouth open, and moans of wants slipping out, kiego didn’t wait for an answer. lining up the mushroom tip of his cock, he prodded a few times before sinking into your cunt, pushing past that ring of resistance with ease. “f-fuck, baby, you grip my cock so well. who knew you were such a dirty girl?”. pulling back he slipped his cock out of you, leaning forward to hover above your lips before he slammed back into you, muffling your cries of surprise with a searing kiss.
moaning out, you messily kissed him back as teeth and touches clashed, losing all sense of self-respect the more you felt the head of his cock kiss your cervix. you could feel the slight bulge, the way he stretched you deliciously as he continued to press against that spongy spot that had you whining.
your hands began to wander, feeling the way his arms tensed as he thrusted into you, to the way his body reacted to every little thing your own done. the overwhelming feeling of being fucked, stretched more than you thought possible mixed with his relentless thrusts made you start to lose your grip on reality. arching your back, you lifted yourself slightly off the floor as you wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling his body closer to you and his cock deeper.
words spilt out of your mouth, words the villain smirked at hearing. “h-ha, k-keigo, please, fuck, please”. you didn’t even know what you were begging for but you couldn’t care less. everything felt like it didn’t matter compared to this.
screwing your eyes shut, you whimpered as your hands gripped onto his back, catching the feathers on his wings making a deep groan sound from the villain above you. “f-fuck, baby girl, careful of the wings”. so the rumours were true? you'd make sure to use that to your advantage if you ever got another chance.
one thing you came to learn quickly was that keigo loved to use every surface in the room to his advantage, contorting your body in ways you never knew you were capable of. the mushroom head of his cock repeatedly hit that one spot that had your eyes rolling back, and legs shaking as you tried to remain as sane as you possibly could, drunk from the feeling of his cock making you feel more alive than you had felt.
he didn't care if you were a sobbing mess under him or cock drunk, he had you exactly where he wanted you practically folded in half. that's how he knew you'd accept the proposal he growled out in between his hard thrusts. "baby, h-ah, join us. you'll get to do this every day. f-fuck, i’ll show you just how good it feels to be with me. shit”.
the moan you let out in response made his cock throb painfully, a low growl sounding from deep in his chest as he continued to thrust into your now overly sensitive cunt. your whimpers of joy sounded as you reached your euphoria, feeling him swell slightly as ropes of his come coated the insides of you, making sure to keep every drop stuffed inside. wings fluttering behind him that made you feel so small.
taking a moment to regain his breath, keigo looked you over, eyes taking in your fucked out state. you were a beauty. his beauty. reaching a hand up, he brushed your hair out of your face, fingers lingering on your parted lips. "now, all we have to do is wait for your dear father to come for you, then we'll show him what had become of his darling little angel".
smirking slightly he pulled back, cock slipping out of your cunt, eyes lingering on the small amount of his seed now trickling out and pooling into the floor. "i wonder how he'll react to you being fucked several times by a villain. not just any villain either". you watch his form retreat through a door after cleaning himself and you, taking a moment to regain some of your strength before you move.
you knew it would be a good while before you were even found. as far as you were aware, no one had any idea you were missing. lifting yourself to your feet, you flopped onto the seat you were in before, sighing at the feeling of being on something other than the floor.
did your father know you were gone? not that he had bothered to check on you as of late, you were an adult now so you were left to your own devices. chances are that by the time you were found, when he eventually realised you were gone and began the search for you, you'd be long gone. lost in the world of the villains, especially the world of the blonde villain as you remained by his side.
not that keigo would ever mind you by his side, he had you where he wanted you and right now, even for the foreseeable, you didn't want to leave. especially when you were pinned beneath him, moaning out loud each time he fucked you like there was no tomorrow. pulling your body into positions you didn’t know existed or could only ever dream of.
he could get used to this and nothing could change his mind. he was as drunk on you as you were on him. the woman of his desires was finally his. he'd known about you long before he turned away from being a hero. thanks to working with your dad, he'd seen pictures of you and heard stories, ones that made him laugh and smile. even if it was thanks to the way his cock made you feel, he finally had you all to himself.
a few months had passed since that night and from what you heard, your father had come looking for you. seemingly giving up easily when he saw no trace of you anywhere, it was like you had disappeared into thin air. that solidified how much you meant to him.
truth be told you didn't want to be found. not now. not ever.
you were too busy being not only fucked out by the villain who rocked your world, but loved like you should be. not wanting to leave each other, not wanting anything to end between you. you were too far gone to be rescued even if someone tried. the thrill is too much for you both.
besides, to you, dominant keigo can be quite persuasive when he wants to be. especially when he's buried to the hilt deep inside of you. dragging the dirtiest of sounds out of you as you cling on for your life once more. teetering on the cusp of your combined euphorias.
"that's it, princess, you'll be mine and mine alone~".
"we'll show all these fuckers who's the best out of the so-called heroes and villains".
"especially with you by my side, baby".

“The media is taking this story and running with it, Mr.President. You’ll need to make an announcement addressing it.” Keigo’s publicist said over the phone.
“Will I need to reveal the identity of the woman in the video?” Kiego says sternly.
“Possibly… we can try to avoid it since in the video you can’t really see her face but it is very obvious that she’s not from here. The internet might find her on their own. Who is she, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“It’s Y/N. She works with the company that wants to do business with the HPSC. We’ve been secretly going out for a month. Her company told her that she is not to get involved with anyone who works at the HPSC. I'm afraid she’s going to lose her job because of this.” Keigo explains.
“I remember meeting her in the office a few times. She’s very sweet and it’s sad that her company would fire her over this. Ultimately, we need to see how the public reacts to this and what it does to your public image. People might love it since it plays into your old reputation before the war or it could be perceived in a different light…a negative one. I’ll write up something for you to say but I know you will end up saying whatever comes to you at the moment.”
He lets out an agitated sigh and says, “This is such a load of crap but it is what it is. Thank you. Sorry for bringing you into this mess.”
“It’s my job, Mr. President. Try not to worry too much?”
“I don’t give a fuck about what the public thinks. I wouldn’t even respond to this if she wasn’t involved. I’m terrified to know what Y/N will say.” He says nervously.
“It’ll be okay. Keep me updated, sir.” She says as she hangs up the phone.
Keigo walks over to the bathroom that you’re in and knocks on the door. He figured that your phone call was about the video too. He just wanted to confront the situation head on.
“Y/N, Can you open the door?” He says while pressed up against the door.
Keigo knew that you couldn’t have been taking this well. He felt terrible knowing that he’s the reason this is happening to you. You open the door with your phone pressed against your ear. You look at him. Your eyes were glossy from the tears you’re trying to hold back. Your face was honestly a mix of emotions. You looked pissed but your eyes showed sorrow. All Keigo knew was that he needed to fix all of this.
“I have to go, Mira. I need to talk to Keigo so we can figure this out.” You say into the phone. You hang up and give him your undivided attention. You press your lips together and cross arms, waiting for him to say something.
“I am so deeply sorry. You have every right to be upset. I don’t know what I was thinking, acting like that in a public setting and I know better. I was the number two hero of Japan and I didn’t think to check for fucking cameras?” He says with his hand resting on the back of his neck. “I will do everything in my power to make sure we can fix this. Remember what I told you? I’m an optimistic guy. I will fix this.” He declares.
You want to be angry at him but his words just make tears form in your eyes. You press your lips together as they start to quiver. Keigo notices and starts to say, “No, nooooo, don’t cry, baby.”
Too late. The tears come streaming down your face as he pulls you into a hug. You couldn’t hold them back any longer.
“It’s not completely your fault. This was a mutual decision. Just knowing you have my back helps with the anxiety.” You spoke softly through your tears.
“I will take the blame for everything. We will see how everything unravels tomorrow.” He says while rubbing your back. “But for now, we should finish our dinner.”
You can tell Keigo’s demeanor is slightly off. You rub your thumb over the scar that’s placed on his jaw. You were being soft with him, egging him on to tell you how he really felt, with your touch. He looked at you with such serious eyes.
“I don’t want to lose you over this.” He blurts out. “I am so unbelievably into you that I will shoulder this burden for you. My only goal is to make sure you’re happy with the outcome and if you aren’t, I’ll do whatever I can until you are.”
His words carried weight. Everything he said, he truly meant it. You were worried about the outcome but now you’re starting to believe him when he says he will handle it. Hearing those words lit a fire in you. You grab him by his face and pull him into a passionate kiss. He seems a bit surprised but he’s happy you're not upset.
“You won’t get rid of me that easily.” You say as you pull away from the kiss. “Let’s continue our dinner. You put a lot of thought and effort into tonight and it shouldn’t go to waste.”
You grab your phone and turn it off. He does the same. You smile at him as you both sit back down and continue your at home yakiniku. You reach for the wine bottle he had set out earlier and fill your cup.
“Have you ever been through something like this?” You say with a slight giggle.
“Hmm, I’ve been stabbed, shot, held hostage, kidnapped, been a part of publicity stunts, but I’ve never had a border line sex tape leak. That’s a new one for me. What about you?” He says nonchalantly.
“I haven’t been through any of that. What the fuck, haha.” You burst out laughing.
He starts to laugh with you realizing that the tape is not the craziest thing that’s happened to him. “What is one of the craziest things you’ve been through then?” He asks.
You think while taking a sip of wine. The thought comes to you and you say, “Okay, I emergency landed a full plane using my quirk.”
Keigo’s jaw drops as he realizes what you just said.
“What the actual fuck, hahaha. For someone who isn't a hero that’s a big fucking deal. Your quirk has to be more than just a high IQ, Y/N. What’s your real quirk?” He says while taking a bite.
“Fiiinnee.” You whine. “If I read a manual or instructions, I can do that said thing proficiently.” You admit.
“Ooohh, so you read the plane’s manual and you were able to land it.” You nod your head to his statement as you take another big sip of wine. “That must have had your adrenaline pumping.”
“Yea, it was crazy. I don’t know what took over me. I didn’t want anyone to die and then I thought to myself ‘Fuuuck, I’m gonna die if I don’t do something’ so I just got over myself and did it.” You said. You and Keigo started laughing, realizing that you were getting tipsy.
He finally felt that he was seeing the real you. You were so goofy and your sense of humor was unmatched. The way you’d talk with your hands when you got excited about something, or the way your laugh filled a room. He was falling for you, hard. By the time you two finished dinner, it was 3 in the morning. You managed to help him clean his kitchen even though you both were pretty drunk.
“Now that the kitchen is clean, I should probably head home.” You say as you dry the last dish.
Keigo bursts out laughing and says, “It’s 3 in the morning, you're not going anywhere. I have a guest bedroom and clothes you can wear.”
You were hoping he’d offer you to stay but you weren’t sleeping in a guest bedroom. You got up and hugged him from behind, wrapping your arms around his chiseled torso.
“Couldn’t I just sleep with you?” You say softly with your face pressed against his upper back.
He blushes at how forward you’re being with him. He loves it considering he usually makes the first move.
“Y-yea, you can sleep with me.” He stumbles over his words.
You started to rub on his torso, getting dangerously close to the bulge in his pants. He watched as you slowly began unbuttoning his pants. You took your time, wanting to tease him since you two often had quickies. You held your hand up his mouth and told him to spit. He does as you say almost immediately, knowing what your plan is. You kissed the back of his neck as you pulled out his dick and started stroking his hard on.
“Mmnnhh, Y/N. Yeaa, just like that.” He moans as he throws his head back. His eyes met with the back of his skull as you kissed and licked the outer shell of his ear.
“I love watching you squirm.” You whisper.
He moans and squirms as a response to your comment. You couldn’t help but leave hickeys on the side of his neck. You know, just like he did the first night you two shared together. The way your name kept spilling out of his mouth, you knew he was close. He places his hand on your wrist and stops you. Before you could even process what was happening, he turned around and placed his hand on the back of your neck, pulling you towards him. You shared the same breath as you looked into each other's eyes.
“Let’s take this upstairs.” He added in a low hum as he caressed your face.
He hikes up your skirt and picks you up by thighs. You wrap your legs around his waist while you hold onto him. You start to giggle as you two drunkenly head to his bedroom. He lays you down on his king sized bed, staying on top of you. It only took a matter of seconds before your skirt was balled up on the floor and your clit between his lips. His gaze was locked on you as he dragged his tongue through your slick.
“Keigo, fuck.” You whine as you push his face into your wetness.
He groans as if he was feeling your pleasure. He pushes your legs up to your ears as he buries his face deeper into your folds. You hold your legs in place allowing him to focus fully on you. He slides two fingers in as he continues sucking on your clit. Your small whimpers grew into long moans and curse words. Within a matter of minutes, he had you nearing your first orgasm of the night.
“You gonna cum for me, pretty girl?” He moans into you.
You start panting as you cum, legs up by your ears and shaking. You scream his name as you cover his face in your juices. He continues dragging his tongue up and down your slick as you ride out your orgasm. By the time you come down from your high, he’s already undressed and rubbing the tip of his cock at your entrance.
“Fuck, I love seeing you like this.” He moans. He furrows his brows once he realizes you still had your top on. “Take your fucking tits out.” He demands.
You bite your lip and do as he says, leaving you in just the jewelry you had on. He slides into you slowly, watching as your face contorts due to him stretching you out.
“Oh my god, you feel me in there baby?” He says as he slowly starts moving his hips.
You nod your head and say, “Mhmmm, you feel soooo good.”
He smiles at your response and picks up the pace. He props your legs onto his shoulders causing him to hit deeper into you. You couldn’t take your eyes off him, watching his abs flex as his hips snapped towards yours at an alarming rate. He always fucked you good but he was being nasty tonight. He turns his head and licks up your calf, his lips ending up around your toes.
“Ah! I love when you get like this.” Your words come out in between moans which fuels his arousal.
He leans forward, placing his hands on your waist as he fucks into you. Each thrust causes your tits to bounce in the moonlight. You desperately grip on to the sheets under you as he drills into you. He couldn't help but to smile once he heard you cry out. Your walls clenched around his dick as he pushed into your g-spot for a second time.
“You like that baby? Did I find your sweet spot?” He obviously knew the answer to that question but he wanted to hear you say it.
“Y-yes, fuck. right there!” You whine as you feel him pushing you towards your second orgasm of the night. At this point, you were seeing stars. The tight knot that’s been building up in your stomach was coming undone. Keigo thrusts only got deeper and harder as you came on him. He was trying his best not to cum but the feeling of your walls pulsating around him along with you talking him through it pushed him there. The little remarks you made about being filled with his cum also had a hand to play in his orgasm. Whenever you asked for it, he had to give it to you. How could he resist?
“Filled to the fucking brim.” He says as he pulls out of you, watching his cum spill out of you. He leans down and kisses your forehead before he walks over to his bathroom. When he comes back, he cleans you up and puts one of his old t-shirts on you.
“You need anything else, pretty girl?” He says in a low voice as he lays down next to you.
“I’m okay, my love.” You reply as you snuggle into his solid frame.
He wraps his arms around you, pulling you by his side. He leaves small kisses on the top of head as his hand snakes under the t-shirt you had on. His calloused fingertips rubbing up and down your back as you both fell asleep.
*******************************************************
Keigo is not typically a morning person. He often struggles getting out of bed. However, this morning, he had gotten up before you and went down to the kitchen to make breakfast. He was trying to make your day as smooth as possible even though it was going to be a bad day regardless.
“You’re up before me?” You say mid yawn.
“I am. You were knocked out.” He says as he walks over to you giving you a kiss on your forehead. “Good morning, how do you like your eggs?”
“Scambled, please.” He walks back over to the stove and starts cooking your eggs. You sit down at the kitchen island and examine scars on his back. They look like healed burn wounds. You let out a sigh and say, “Have you turned on your phone this morning?”
“I guess we have to talk about it huh? You ready to hear it?” You nod your head yes as you prepare for what he’s about to tell you. “I turned on both our phones. The video has gone viral with a split reaction from the public. Some people are saying that I assaulted you, others are saying it was passionate and that we know each other. Your employer has a feeling that it’s you in the video because they want to do a video call around noon today… with both of us.”
You get up from the barstool and start pacing around the kitchen. You pinch the bridge of your nose and let out a sigh, followed with, “Wait, they think you assaulted me?! Keigo, I have to make a statement! I would hate for your public image to be tarnished over accusations.”
“My publicist was saying that. She had a feeling some people would watch that video and think the worst. If you do make a statement, you’re revealing your identity to the public and to your employer. Which also means we’d have to announce that we are a couple. I don’t think your employer will like that.” He says as he plates your food and hands it to you.
“It has to be done. I don’t like that people are perceiving you that way, when that’s not the truth. At this point, I’ve accepted the fact that I could lose my job. I am scared but after what you said to me last night, I have to do the same for you. I will stand beside you and do whatever I can to clear these accusations. You’re such a good man. Itadakimasu.” You sit down with the food and start eating.
Hearing you say that you’d stick beside him gave him a full body chill. He wanted to tell you now more than ever that he was falling in love with you. He sits down next to you and starts eating his breakfast.
“Do you want to take a look for yourself?” Keigo asks.
“Yea, my mind is made up.” He hands you your phone. You stare at the black screen, nervous as to what will be on it when you open it. Keigo notices your hesitation and places his hand on your back.
“Remember, we will get through this.” He says softly as he rubs your back.

**cliff hanger at the end**
This morning was like any other morning. You did your normal commute to work. The weather was exceptionally nice, cherry blossoms in full bloom. You greeted the people you work beside, as you typically do. You open your office door to reveal a custom arrangement of cymbidium orchids, calla lilies and hydrangeas sitting on your desk.
“This has to be a mistake…” You mumble to yourself as you set your bags down.
The bouquet was so gorgeous that you were afraid to touch it. The flowers were in a circular shaped vase. You notice a note sticking out from the middle of the arrangement.
‘For my pretty girl’
Blood rushes to your face as you realize that Keigo bought you this expensive arrangement of flowers. What’s the occasion for? More importantly, why would he do this at work? You put the note on your desk and march up to his office. His receptionist wasn’t there yet so you knocked on his office door.
“Hey Gorgeous.” Keigo says in his usual playful tone.
You push him into the office and close the door behind you. You stand in front of him with your arms crossed.
“What?” He says clueless as to why you seem upset with him.
You shake your head in disappointment and ask, “Why did you send an expensive bouquet of flowers to my OFFICE?”
This question somehow led to Kiego fucking you up against the wall. He held you up by your thighs as he thrusted into you. He licks up the side of your neck, right before he says, “You’ve been mine for a whole month now, sweetheart” in your ear.
That’s why he sent the flowers, you guys have been seeing each other for a month as of today. I guess that also explains why he felt the need to fuck you senseless in his office. You thought it was sweet he remembered something so small like that. It really shows you that he wants to be more than just fuck buddies. He carries you over to his desk and lays your back down on the cold wood. He thrusts deep and slow to avoid the sound of your ass clapping.
“You’re taking me so well, Y/N. You’re so good to me.” He added in a low whisper.
You could tell he was close and so were you. His fingers pressed into your waist as he pulled you on his dick. His pace began to pick up and he didn’t care about being quiet at this moment. His dick was slipping in and out of you until he filled you with his thick load. You both curse under your breath as he pulls out.
“I know you didn’t cum. I’ll take care of you after work.” He says as he slides out of you.” “Stay right there.”
He walks over to the bathroom that’s in his office and grabs paper towels to wipe up his mess. You both get yourselves together quickly.
“I think it’s sweet you remembered the day.” You say while fixing your dress.
“Someone needed to. You didn’t.” He teases.
“Because I didn’t think you saw our relationship like that.” You rebuttal.
“Oh please, you know exactly how I feel about you, Y/N. One of the first things I said to you that night at the bar was, ‘you look like my girlfriend.’ I’m not here to waste your time.” He says with a stern voice.
He's not wrong. He’s been an open book about his feelings and he keeps applying the pressure. This whole month, he’s been sending you small gifts and love letters since you two can’t be seen in public.
“I know, I’m sorry. I guess I’m just in shock from how forward you’re being. Like I said, it’s been awhile since I’ve dated or been interested in anyone. And besides, you know I’m not staying in Japan long. Why are you putting so much into this short term thing?” You finally address the elephant in the room.
He kisses your forehead and says, “Because I’m an optimistic guy.” He smiles at you when he sees your face is completely straight because he did not answer your question in the slightest. You knew he was being honest though.
You hit his shoulder and say, “I should get back to my office, Mr. President.”
“One more thing. I want you to come over tonight.” He says leaning back against his desk.
You had never been to his place before. You always wondered what it looked like. Does he have an apartment or a house? Any pets? You can get a good sense of who he is by how he lives.
“Text me your address and what time. I’ll see you later, Mr. President.” You say with a slight smirk on your face.
Once you leave the office, Keigo lets out a, “yes!” under his breath. He honestly didn’t know how that was going to go. He had never sent you an expensive gift in public like that. He knew you’d be mad at first but he also knew he could calm you down. He loved that you were fiery and that you had no problem setting him straight. The thing he loved the most is the contrast from you at work and you outside of work. At work, you’re the textbook definition of professional. You’re hard working, smart, and a great leader that always dressed the part. Well, you teetered on the line of dressing appropriately sometimes. You’d wear these tight clothes that Keigo would often think about you in. Which is why he wanted to see you outside of work. He wants to see more of the real you.
**************************************************
“Those flowers are lovely, Y/N. You got a secret admirer?” your coworker asks as you carry the bouquet out of your office.
“No, haha. The company I work for sent them to me for doing a good job.” You lie.
“Awe, they care so much. How lovely. Let me get the door for you.” He says as he opens the front door for you to head out.
“Thank you so much. Have a good night. Mata ashita (see you tomorrow).” You stand on the side of the road waiting for the taxi you called not too long ago.
You start to ponder on what you’re gonna wear for your date tonight with the President. Something sexy or something chill? You know that he loves the way you dress. He’s admitted it a few times during sex.
“Keep the dress on, I want to fuck you in it.”
You start to get wet thinking about the filthy things he’s said to you. You can't deny the fact that you adore the way he speaks to you. You’re like putty in his hands if he says the right things to you and he always does. You get into your taxi and head to the hotel you call home. Your phone vibrates in your hand.
Mr. President: Here’s my address. You’re welcome to come over at 20:00. Wear something pretty for me.
Just reading that text message makes you blush. You really like Keigo but you hate the cards you were dealt. You wish that you didn’t have to sacrifice anything to be with him. He’s been pouring so much affection into you and this situationship. The least you could do is show him who you are outside of work.
“Tōchaku shimashita (we have arrived).” The driver says, pulling me out of contemplation.
“Arigatou Gozaimasu.” You say as you get out of the taxi.
You hurry up to your hotel room, taking off your shoes the moment you get in the room. You place the vase of flowers on your desk and start changing your clothes. You had picked out a cheetah print maxi skirt that hugged your curves perfectly. For your top, you chose a black low cut halter top that hugged your waist. Your body was on display in this outfit even though you were mostly covered. You only have about an hour and a half to get ready. You turn on your favorite album, to get yourself in the right headspace. As you’re getting ready, your best friend from home calls you. You grab your laptop and bring it into the bathroom as you accept the call.
“Mira!! Hi my love, how are you!!” you exclaim as you fix your makeup in the mirror.
“I’m doing good! I miss you so much, it’s unreal.” She whines.
Mirlande (Mira) had been your best friend since you were in grade school. She was more like a sister than a friend though. You two practically lived at each other's houses growing up. Your families were similar in every way: they were from the same island so it was the same culture. It was so nice having her when your family moved to America.
“I miss you so much, girl. It’s been crazy being apart from you for so long.” You stop doing your makeup and get a good look at her.
She smiles at you and says, “Getting ready to see Mr. President?”
You scoff and say “How’d you know?”
“Look at what you're wearing, you’re looking extra slutty!! The man is already down bad for you.” Mira screams.
You start laughing and say, “Good, Right where I want his ass.”
You and Mira catch up as you finish getting ready. You show her the vase of flowers he got for you and she tells you about her situationships. Once you check the time, you realize you're running late.
“Ahhh, Mira I gotta go!! I’m late as fuck. I was supposed to leave 20 minutes ago.” You whine as you grab your black leather jacket, purse and slip on your open toe black kitten heels.
“Okay, love you! Tell me how it goes. Get some dick for the both of us!!” She says before ending the call.
You laugh and roll your eyes at her statement. You quickly spray yourself with your signature scent and scurry down to the lobby. Your phone begins to ring, and of course it’s Keigo.
You answer the phone and say, “Hey.”
“Hey, have you left yet?” He asks.
“No, my taxi should be here in 5 minutes though. I’m running a few minutes late. So sorry. ”
“Don’t apologize, sweetheart. Cancel the taxi. I sent a driver for you. She should be pulling up right now.”
Just as he said, a black vehicle parks right in front of the hotel. The driver gets out and holds up a sign with your name.
“Yes, I see her. Walking over to her now.” You are completely shocked as you walk towards the car. You speak the little Japanese that you know to inform her that you’re the person she is picking up. She opens the door for you and you get into the car.
“You in?” Keigo asks.
“Yes, thank you for this. You really didn't need to go through the trouble.” You express.
“Don’t give me that, Y/N. Anything I do for you causes me no trouble. I can't take you anywhere in public right now so I will make this as extravagant as I can. I’ll see you soon, okay?” He says in an alluring voice.
“Thank you, baby.” You heard his breath hitch over the phone as he heard those sweet words fall from your lips. This was the first time you addressed Keigo in an informal way…outside of sex. You smile knowing that he’s probably a blushing mess.
“Anything for you.” He says softly.
You hang up the phone and calm your nerves the whole ride to his house. You weren’t nervous at all. If anything you were smitten by him. Your heart began to beat harder the closer you got. You placed your hand on your chest and took a deep breath as you pulled into his property. You saw him standing out by his front door wearing a black knit collared shirt and khaki trousers. He walks up to the car door and opens it. You get out of the car, not breaking eye contact with him. He places his hand on the small of your back as he whispers, “hi pretty” in your ear. You smile and say “hi” back. He closes the car door and waves at the driver as she pulls out from the driveway.
“Thank you for having me.” You say as he walks you to the front door.
“The pleasure is all mine.” He says as he opens the door for you.
His place is exactly as you thought it would be. Beautiful high ceilings with a lot of space. The living room had wood paneling behind the mounted tv aligned with a wall of windows with a gorgeous view. The sectional was low to the ground and sat up against the wall of windows. You could tell his home was decorated with intention. (Picture)
“Your home is so nice. I really love how it’s decorated.” You say slipping off your heels.
“Thanks. I hired an interior designer because I’ve never decorated a home before. She made me take a bunch of quizzes and this is what she came up with.” He says walking into his living room. He turns towards you and says, “I’ll give you a tour later.”
You walk over to him and wrap your arms around his neck. Your breasts pressed against his chest as you closed the gap between the two of you. He can’t help but to lightly blush at how forward you were being. He rests his hands on your lower back and butt. You get goosebumps at his touch, causing you to giggle. You smile and say “Can’t wait.”
Keigo couldn’t believe you were willingly in his arms right now. Getting you to cooperate felt like pulling teeth to him. For the first time, he feels like he’s getting to know the real you and not the work version of you.
“I think it’s time I show you what I planned.” He says while kissing your arm. He takes your hand and walks you over to his kitchen. He quickly gets behind you and covers your eyes with his hands.
“Get ready for an amazing, authentic, delicious, experience, Y/N.” He says dramatically.
He uncovers your eyes to reveal an at home yakiniku set up. You gasp, look back at him and say, “Yakiniku!!! How did you know I wanted to try this?”
“Just a hunch.” He says with a slick smile. It wasn’t just a hunch, it was a lot more than just a hutch. Even though Keigo doesn’t have his feathers anymore, that doesn’t mean his nasty habit of eavesdropping is gone. He still has insanely sharp eyes and ears, even after the war.
“Hmm, Is it the same hutch you developed while doing spy work?” You say knowing he definitely eavesdropped on a conversation you had at work.
“Yea, you could say that.” He says knowing he can’t hide anything past you. He knew you were just as smart as him, maybe even more intelligent than him.
He pulls out a barstool from his kitchen island for you to take a seat. The set up was actually really cute. It was a tiny counter grill surrounded by different plated meats, marinades, and sauces. He even had a few veggies chopped and sliced to be grilled as well. He plugs the grill in and turns it on to make sure it’s hot. You take a seat and watch him move around his kitchen.
“What would you like to drink? I have wine, sake, tea, really anything.” He says as he grabs a beer for himself.
“Do people usually drink beer with yakiniku?” you ask.
“Yea but you don’t have to.” He says knowing that you are not a fan of beer.
“I’ll have a beer. I’ll try it!” You say optimistically.
He grabs you a beer from the fridge and comes to sit next to you. He opens the beer and hands it to you and says, “If you don’t like it, I’ll finish it.”
You take the bottle and agree. Keigo starts telling you the name of all the meats and sauces. You wanted to start off with some veggies, pork belly, yakitori, and thin sliced beef. You grab the tongs and start helping him add the meats to the grill. You could tell from the smell that the meat was marinated beforehand. As you wait for the meat to cook, you and Keigo start talking about quirks. Kiego wanted to know if you had one but never found the right time to ask.
“Do you have a quirk?” He straight up asks.
You raise your eyebrows and take a sip of the beer you’re struggling to get through. Keigo laughs and says, “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to and you also don't need to drink that beer, Y/N.”
“I’ll tell you, it’s nothing flashy. I have a really high IQ, that’s pretty much it.” You say ignoring his beer statement.
“That explains why I can’t get anything past you. Beauty and brains, huh?” He says while getting up and pouring a cup of Umeshu, knowing that’s what you prefer.
You slightly blush as he compliments you and pours you a glass of your favorite wine that he conveniently had on hand. You take the meat off the grill and take the wine from him. He takes your beer and puts it next to his. You thank him once again for the food and start eating together. He places more meat on the grill as you two drink, eat, and get to know each other. The conversation is going great, you feel completely at ease with him at this moment.
*BZZZZ*
Both your phones go off, simultaneously. You both ignore them and continue the conversation.
*BZZZZ*
Once again, both phones go off. You stare at each other and agree to answer them. You grab your phone and step into the bathroom. He grabs his phone and goes into his living room. You see that it’s your best friend, Mira, calling you.
“Are you okay?” You say answering the phone.
“Yea I am. Are you sitting down? You need to sit down, Y/N.” She said in a panic.
You take a seat on the closed toilet and say, “I’m sitting. What’s going on?”
“Go look at what I texted you.”
You put her on speaker and quickly navigate to your messages with her. It’s video footage that’s clearly pulled from a surveillance camera in an elevator. You click play and see Keigo walking in the elevator. Your heart starts pounding in your chest as you realize where this is from. Your stomach began to twist in knots as you saw yourself walk into the elevator. You were frozen in place as you continued watching the footage. Someone leaked the footage of the President making out with you, put it on the internet AND IT’S GOING VIRAL.
Yall….. what can I say I LOVE a cliff hanger. I feel bad because Keigo is just trying to get to know you and now he has pulled you into this mess. Anywayyyyy, how are we liking it????? Heheheh
Stay tuned for part 5! Things really about to pop off.

You slowly open your eyes to your hotel room. Keigo was still asleep while having his arms wrapped around you. You turn to face him, loosening up his grip on you. You lay your head on his chest as you look at him while he sleeps. You started to get flashbacks of last night in your head causing you to feel embarrassed. You still can’t believe you fucked the ONE person your employer said not to fuck.
“Good morning, Y/N.” A groggy Keigo says.
“Good morning Kiego.” You say as you sit up.
You crawl on top of him, placing your ass right on his crotch. You look down at his chiseled abs and his body covered in scars. You wanted to know where every scar came from. He places his hands on your ass and hums in delight.
“What’s your plans for today?” He asks while looking up at you.
Two unexpected knocks at your door make you flinch. Keigo furrowed his brow and mouthed the word, “housekeeping?”
You shake your head no because you know they come in the middle of the day. You get off of him and put on your robe. You answer the door to reveal Ashido and Ochako.
“Ohh, good morning Ashido and Ochako.” You say it loud enough so Keigo can hear you.
Kiego jumps out of the bed and onto the floor. He lands as soft as he could but you could still hear him.
“Good morning. Is someone here, Y/N.” Ashido asks with a smirk on her face.
“No…. Just me. I overslept! I completely forgot we were going shopping together. How about I meet you all at the cafe down the street? It’ll take me 20 minutes to get ready.” You redirect Ashido.
“Yea that’s fine but what’s that?” Ochako pointed at the dark hickey on your collar bone with a giggle.
Now why the fuck would Keigo give you a hickey? This is supposed to be a secret thing and he marked you?
“It’s a hickey.” You honestly say.
“From?” Ashido says.
“I’ll explain at the cafe!! You two are so nosy. Give me 20 minutes and I'll meet you there.” You express.
“Okay okayyy, tell mister hottie I said good morning.” Ashido says as they begin to walk away.
You close the door and say, “I completely forgot I made plans with them last night.”
Keigo comes out of the closet completely dressed in his suit and says, “They don’t know it’s me so we’re all good.”
“Damn, I didn’t even hear you put on your clothes.”
“Yea, I’m stealthy. What are you wearing today?” He asks as he takes a seat on the bed.
“Something that covers up this HICKEY.” You pout at him and cross your arms.
“Oh… haha… Sorry about that. I clearly lack self control…. I mean we both do.” He explains.
You roll your eyes and say, “That’s not a genuine apology, Keigo.”
He gets up and stands behind you, pressing his body to yours. He gently kisses the side of your neck and mumbles, “I’ll make it up to you when we meet again. I promise.”
Everytime he gave you attention like that, it made you so weak in the knees. It took every fiber in your body to control your urges when he touched you.
“Mhm, okay Mr.President.” You say acting like you were unimpressed by him.
He lets out a laugh and says, “Get dressed. I’ll leave like 20 minutes after you so nothing looks suspicious.”
You nod your head and begin your process. While you got ready, you and Keigo talked and got to know each other more. He didn’t say this out loud but he found out that he adores watching you get ready. He paid attention to the products you were using for your skin and what make up you put on. He even took note of what songs you put on to get ready too.
“How do I look?” You say posing for him.
“Too fucking good.” He says as he takes in your outfit.
You wore an off the shoulder grey sweater with a lace cream colored cami underneath to hide the hickey. You paired with a jean mini skirt. You pulled your hair up into a relaxed bun, leaving a few locs in your face.
“Okay, I gotta go.” You grab your purse and rush over to the door, Kiego following directly behind you. You slide your sneakers on your foot, holding onto Keigo as you fix your shoe.
“When am I seeing you again?” He blurts out.
“At work tomorrow.” You say innocently.
He scoffs and says, “Y/N, when am I seeing you again outside of work?”
Oh, right. He wants to hook up again. You pause for a second and think if you want this to be a one time thing. How are you two going to hide this? You can’t be seen in public together so it would be just a no strings attached situation, right?
“How about Friday?” You give in.
“Okay, I’ll see you then.” He lifts your hand to his mouth and kisses it.
You give a half smile back and say, “See you.”
You open the door and rush over to the cafe where Ashido and Ochako are. You can’t help but to feel weird about all of this. There’s a bit of guilt and confusion in your mind from the night you had with Keigo. Once you get there you, bow and apologize profusely to the both of them.
“I’ll accept your apology once you give me the details!” Ashido pouts.
“Sit down and stop apologizing. I ordered what you usually get.” She slides your drink over to you as you take a seat next to her.
“Thank you for ordering this.” You say before you take a quick sip, realizing you haven't drank anything today. “All you need to know is that it was a one night stand and I don’t think he’s interested long term anyway.”
There was some truth to your lie.
“Do you want it to be long term?” Ashido asks.
“I don’t know… In a perfect world yes but...we work to…two different schedules and it just doesn’t seem like it’s a good idea.” You explain.
“…Hm, I don’t know, I think you should try. If he seems interested in you and you like him, why not?” Ochako says.
“Says the girl who can’t ask out someone she’s been crushing on for over A DECADE.” Ashido interjects.
“Wait, Deku? Ochako, it's been that long?” You didn’t know much of the story behind Ochako’s feelings for him. Usually, you‘re not one to pry but you’ll do anything to keep them from talking about your night with the president.
“Yea, Deku. The green haired one you met last night. She has literally had feelings for him since U.A.” Ashido says.
Ochako takes Ashido's scolding and knows that she’s right. It’s just tough because she feels like it’s been so long and if he liked her, he would have made a move by now. Once everyone finished their drinks, you all headed out to the mall. You spent the day shopping with the girls and found some really cute outfits for work.
***************************
Keigo laid in your bed while he waited to leave your hotel room. He’s resisting the urge to snoop around. He’s not looking for anything specific, he just wants to know more about the things you like.
“I shouldn’t…” he says out loud to himself. He sits up on the bed and places his hand on his face. He was contemplating. If he still had his quirk, he would have done it already. He likes knowing everything.
“Nah, I’ll chill.” He says to himself. He does get up and write a note for you though. He grabs a napkin off the coffee table and grabs a pen from your desk. He starts writing. He was thinking about the night you two shared. Even though it was amazing for the both of you, he knew you had some qualms about it.
‘Y/N , thank you for a great night. Stop by my office in the morning whenever you get to work. I look forward to seeing you again. -Keigo’
***********Next Day***********
“Ohayou Gozaimasu, Y/N. The president would like to see you.”
You were avoiding him. You saw the note he left you but you just couldn’t bring yourself to go to his office.
“Arigatou Gozaimasu, I’ll be there in a moment.” You respond.
His receptionist bows and leaves your office. You let out a deep sigh and finish typing your email. The truth is you don’t know how you feel about pursuing a relationship with him. You worked so hard to get where you are within the company. It’s not worth losing your position for a man, however you can’t hide from him forever. You get up and check yourself out in the mirror hung up in your office. You were wearing a white blouse with a black vest and black mini skirt. Sheer stockings covered your legs along with ballet flats on your feet.
“I hope he doesn’t make this hard.” You whisper to yourself as you fix your hair.
You walk out of your office and take the elevator up to his, anxiously tapping your foot as you pass each floor. The doors open to his receptionist sitting outside his office.
“I’ll buzz you in.” She says.
You walk up to his office door and open it as you hear the buzzing. Knots started forming in your stomach as you saw him sitting at his desk. His suit jacket was off, so you got to see him in his fitted white button down. He looks up at you and smirks.
“You wanted to see me?” You say closing the door.
“Yes, I thought I made that pretty clear.” He states.
You stood there with nothing to say, unable to make eye contact with his strong gaze.
“What’s up, Y/N? Did I do something wrong? You avoiding me?” He says with concern in his voice.
“No….I’m not avoiding you… I just..” you stammer.
He stands up from his desk and walks over to you. He stands directly in front of you, your bodies a hair's breadth away from each other.
“You just what?” He says under his breath while staring you directly in your eyes.
“I just don’t think…. We should be… seeing each other like this.” You confess as you share a breath with him.
“Yea? Why not?” He softly caresses your face.
“I could lose my job.” His hand slides from your face and down to the collar of your shirt. He pulls your collar to the side to reveal your collarbone. He lets out a chuckle once he sees the hickey he marked you with.
“I wouldn’t let that happen, Y/N. Do you think I would let them fire you?” His voice dropped down an octave as he closed the gap between you two. His hands resting on your waist as he pulls you close to him.
“I don't think you have jurisdiction over that, Mr. President.” You wrap your arms around his shoulders, giving in to his seductive nature.
He smacks his teeth and rolls his eyes at your comment. “I have as much power as they do over your job. I have so much power that they sent you over here to keep tabs on me. Not that I’m complaining.”
He wasn’t wrong, they did send you to as a physical reminder. Your job was to assist the commission on closing the deal with your company, answering any questions they had and helping them fill out any paperwork. You’re meant to be here no more than a few months.
“I’m not keeping tabs on you, Mr. President. I’m here to assist the commission on closing a deal. That’s it.” You say as his hands begin to rub up and down your back.
“Assist is a nice word for rush.” He chuckles. “Be honest with me, Y/N. If seeing me didn’t cost you your job, would you continue seeing me?”
You sat in silence for a moment to think. If you say yes, you know Keigo is the type to run with it. You can already hear him saying, ‘So go out with me.’
“No, I wouldn’t.” You state.
He scoffs and says, “You're such a bad liar, sweetheart. Be honest.”
You roll your eyes and look up at him and say, “If you know the answer, why do I have to say it?”
He grabs your face and squeezes your cheeks together. “Because I want to hear you say it.”
You push his hand from your face and walk away from him. He smiles at the fact that he’s lowkey pissing you off. You lean up against his desk and say, “I would continue seeing you if my job wasn’t at stake.”
He walks up to you, closing the space between you two once again and says, “That’s all I needed to hear, pretty girl. Don’t worry about your job, it’s not going anywhere. Trust me when I say that, okay?”
You stare into his eyes as he promises you that everything will be okay. You believe him more than you’ve believed anyone.
“Okay.” You mutter as he places his thumb on your chin to pull you into a heated kiss. His hands grab on your ass as his tongue caresses yours. You placed your hands on his chest, tapping on his firm peck. He stops kissing you and clears his throat.
“Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.” He says.
You wipe your dark brown lip liner and clear gloss off his lips with your thumb and say, “Don’t get us caught, Mr.President.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it. Now that that’s figured out, can I see you tonight?” He asks.
“I’ll be in touch.” You walk away from him and head to the door.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Sorry for the wait. I’m all yours now.”
“I love this outfit on you.." Keigo blurts out the minute he sees you.
“I’ve never gotten so many compliments from a student before.” You say sitting down at your piano.
He follows you and stands next to the piano. You play a couple of arpeggios to warm your hands up. Keigo watches in amazment.
“So what do you wanna work on for your first singing lesson.” You ask him.
Keigo starts to laugh and says,”what if I said I just wanted to hang out with you and didn’t know how to ask you so I took up your offer for a singing lesson?”
“That’s too bad because I’m already in the mood to teach a lesson.”
Keigo throws his head back and groans,”UGGGHHHHHHH, fine.”
“You got yourself into this. We can cut it short and then discuss why you had to LIE to just hang out with me.” you say bluntly.
He flutters his wings and stands up straight.
“Yes, Mrs. Y/N. Sorry, Mrs. Y/N.” Keigo says.
“Glad to see your ready. We’re gonna start with matching pitch.”
You start by playing middle C. You look at Keigo to match the pitch you just played. The moment he opens his mouth, he was terribly out of tune.
“Oh okay.....that was bad.”
Keigo’s jaw drops and he looks suprised by your statement.
“Are you this RUDE to your students?”
“Being honest and RUDE are two different things. Next and last pitch. Making you sing in key is above my pay-grade.”
Keigo laughs and prepares himself to sing again. You play A3. Keigo is terrible out of tune again.
“Alright, so....what do you wanna do? You’re just awful.” You say as you stand up from your piano bench.
“Damn, okay….Watch a movie?” Keigo suggest as he pouts. He's fully acting as if he wanted the singing lesson, which he did not.
“Sure and while we pick a movie...we can discuss your lies.” You saunter over to the kitchem
Keigo follows you and says ,”Are you mad at me?”
“Yeaaa.” You answer jokingly.
Keigo pretends to bang his head against the wall and proceeds to get on his knees in front of you. He begs for forgiveness.
“I only lied because I was nervous. You’re just so pretty and gorgeous and cool and I’m so lame for lying. I don’t even like to lie! I panicked but now I’m at your house and we’re about to watch a movie and all is right in the world. Please forgive me. I don’t even deserve to sit next to someone as honest and beautiful as you. I’ll be a good boy from here on out, Mrs.Y/N.” Keigo says exaggeratedly.
Your blushing so hard, you can’t even look him in the eye. The begging, calling himself a good boy, and him being on his knees. He's playing some sort of game.
“Okay,okay just get off my floor. I forgive you. I actually think it’s sweet you went through all this trouble just to spend time with me.” You says.
Keigo gets off the floor and says,” I meant every word I said. I panicked I just wanted to have a reason to see you.”
You smile and wraps your arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. Keigo gets red in the face, feeling your breasts pressed up against his chest. He hugs you back by wrapping his arms around your waist. You both took a moment in time to feel each others warmth. Keigo started to squeeze you tighter and you nuzzled your head in his neck.
“You’re so warm.” Keigo mumbles.
His big hands rubbed up and down your back. You were both exhausted and this moment of silence and stillness was something you both appreciated.
“Is it inappropriate to just ask if we could cuddle and chat in my bed? I’m just really exhausted from the day and I just wanna lay down but I don’t want you to go.” You admit.
“I’m okay with that. I’m tired too.” Keigo agrees.
You grabbed his hand and led him upstairs to your bed room where you spent the night getting to know each other and fell asleep in each others arms.
Summary: Hawks regrets breaking you.
The cool glass pressed against your forehead. The nightlife never got boring from up here. The lavish apartment Keigo had kept you in was dark, dinner ice cold on the table by now. He’d warned you it was going to be late by the time he got home, but you decided to wait nonetheless.
He would’ve expected dinner at 6 anyway, late or not. The cameras still watching your every move. You had prepared dinner, as usual, the routine he’d molded you to fit, it was something Keigo credited to you becoming a perfect housewife.
You hated it.
Your previous attempt at finally being free of the cage he’d put you in still throbbed. You were—quite literally—caged in like a common parakeet. It didn’t help that he called you “dove” either. Now, you couldn’t even really breathe properly without threatening to pop the stitches in your back.
You could feel the gashes stretching as you leaned forward against your knees. Keigo’s handiwork serving as a blatant reminder that if you were going to try and fly away, you would have your wings clipped.
Not that you ever had wings in the first place, nor the ability to fly. However, diving headfirst off the balcony was enough of an 'escape' attempt for him to punish you. Two deep gashes on either side of your spine, held together by string and pain. The marks were a reminder that death as a freedom was torn away, the pain being more than you could ever handle.
You couldn’t get out of bed for two days post punishment, the bruises from the beatings adding on to your pain. Keigo made sure to smother you with kisses and care before returning to work, a reminder that his punishment was "for the best".
You didn’t want to try and escape again. Besides, a bird without wings had no reason to leave the cage, right?
Your thoughts were interrupted by a thump on the balcony. A familiar jingle of keys and a jiggle of the door handle, and suddenly he was home.
“Hey there, little dove,” Keigo chirped, discarding his gloves and jacket on the dining chair. His eyes surveyed you, then the room, “I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to dinner, since it’s probably cold, do you wanna order takeout?”
You stayed quiet, he’d never offered to order anything, always insisting you should cook. Was this a trick?
When you didn’t answer, Keigo strode across the room until he was in front of you. His hand was placed firmly under your chin, yanking your jaw up to meet his gaze.
His hardened features suddenly went soft.
Keigo searched your face for any sign of defiance, any hint that you’d try to hurt him, or yourself, but there was none of that.
“Dove,” Keigo started, “I asked you a question.”
You swallowed roughly, struggling against the position he was holding you in.
“I-it’s ok, I can just remake it.” You offered, trying to push yourself up and off the windowsill.
As soon as you stood he stopped you firmly by your shoulders, still searching your face, your body. To him, something wasn’t right.
“What’s up with you?” He asked blatantly.
You froze, was this another trick question?
“I..” you started, not being able to tear your eyes away from his gaze, “I’m just hurting.”
You answered honestly, not sure if that was what he wanted to hear.
He sighed, rubbing his hands up and down your arms, making you wince.
“It’s ok if you don’t make dinner tonight, dove, we can order in Chinese food or something. A new restaurant just opened up down the street, would you like to try that place?.” He asked softly.
It was your turn to search his face for any hesitation, any sign this was a trick, but there was nothing.
You slowly leaned into his chest, searching for warmth, for any hint of love that would show you he wasn’t upset with you.
Keigo gently wrapped his arms around your waist, careful not to hurt your back any further. This softness was your answer. He placed a soft kiss on the top of your head.
In his mind, Keigo felt bad. Images of you screaming and crying under him as he used his own feathers to cut into your back, only minutes after he had laid several strikes on your entire body. He remembered your sobs for hours after your punishment. Rocking back and forth while he stitched you up and bandaged you until you cried yourself to sleep. Today marked one week since it happened.
Keigo could sense a change in your demeanor since the moment it happened. You were more submissive now. He didn't have to ask you to clean up or make dinner anymore. It was done without asking, often better than he expected.
You clung to him now, afraid of his next move.
"Dove," He started, pulling away from you, "I'm serious this time, we can order food. I know you're not feeling well."
"Keigo, it's fine-"
"Y/n." He shushed you once more. "It's ok."
You accepted defeat, realizing he wasn't going to let up.
"I'll order as soon as we clean you up." His hands slipped under your jacket, tracing over the wounds.
Taking your hands, he gently pulled you towards your shared bedroom. You were instructed to lay face down on the bed, removing your jacket to reveal the array of bandages underneath.
Keigo sent his feathers to retrieve medical supplies while he cut the old bandages off your body.
Both of you were silent as he carefully cleaned up some of the stitching and dried blood. God there was just so much it felt like you were coated in a thick layer of it. It was painful, too. Dealing with gashes that large and so many bruises had Keigo wincing at the sight of his work.
He also took into account how many times you whimpered or winced at his touch. No doubt about it, you really were in pain, so much pain. As he finished rebandaging your back, he took into account the dark bruises that had yet to show any signs of improvement. God, how hard did he hit you?
You didn't really move as Keigo put away the supplies and walked around the bed, laying on the sheets with you. He was on his side, wings hanging off the bed as you stared at each other.
You didn't even notice you were crying until he frowned at you. He pulled you into him gently, letting you cry out whatever you were feeling.
Internally, he hated himself. Keigo didn’t like this new you. There was no fire inside you anymore. He was happy to have a housewife, but not at the cost of you losing yourself.
Keigo wept silently as he held you, realizing how badly he had broken you.
He never intended it to be like this.
𓇢𓆸☾☼ Keigo Takami was dangerously close to losing control. He sat on the edge of the rooftop, wings sprawled lazily behind him, golden eyes scanning the city below without truly seeing it. Patrol had ended an hour ago, but he hadn’t moved, hadn’t taken off into the sky. Instead, he let the silence swallow him whole while the weight in his chest pulsed with every beat of his heart.
He was thinking about you again. Not just thinking. Obsessing. Wanting. Craving.
It wasn’t new not really. You had been his best friend for years now. The only person who truly saw him for who he was beneath the feathers, beneath the smiles and playful banter. You weren’t fooled by his smirks or his cocky remarks.
And he wanted you in every way a man could want someone.
He pressed his fingers to his lips, as if he could trap the thoughts there, keep them from spilling out. But they always found their way back in. Memories of your laugh, your hand brushing his, the way you leaned into him when you were tired. The way you looked at him like you didn’t expect anything more than what he was already giving.
But God, he wanted to give you more.
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, wings twitching behind him. “You have no idea,” he muttered to himself.
No idea how he thought about you when he showered, when he lay awake in bed, when he flew above the city. How the ache wasn’t just in his chest but deep, carnal, physical. You’d never touched him like that not even close but his body remembered every innocent brush, every accidental graze of your fingers, every look that lingered a second too long.
He remembered the last time you hugged him. Fully wrapped your arms around him without hesitation.
You were warm. So warm, it branded him. And he wanted to be selfish. Just once.
He wanted to kiss you. Hold you. Lay you down and worship you with every part of himself. He wanted to hear you moan his name like a plea, like he was the only thing in your world that mattered.
His fists clenched.
But he couldn’t. Because he was your best friend. And you trusted him. He’d never risk that. But lately… it was getting harder to pretend. Harder to act like his thoughts didn’t spiral when you smiled at him, when you laughed and leaned your head back like the world couldn’t touch you. Like he was safe in your orbit.
“Fuck,” he whispered to the empty air.
His wings flared slightly behind him, agitated. He was needy pathetically so and it rattled him. You. His best friend and the woman he couldn’t stop imagining underneath him, moaning his name like a prayer.
He exhaled a shaky breath, one hand dragging down his face. His fingers curled tightly in his hair, jaw clenched. It had started innocently enough thinking about your laugh, the way you teased him, the way your eyes sparkled when you talked about something you loved. But lately, that innocent warmth had twisted, melted into something far darker.
Now all he could think about was how soft your lips would feel against his. How your body would arch into his if he finally let himself touch you the way he needed to. Keigo, who wanted to touch the curve of your waist, bury his face in your neck, trace his fingers down your thighs and hear you gasp for him. Keigo, who thought about your lips parting for him, your nails digging into his back, your breath hot against his ear.
He could already feel your thighs wrapped around him in his imagination, could already hear the sounds you’d make soft, desperate, so unlike the friend you were. And he wanted it more than he wanted anything else.
His cock was already hard, straining against the tightness of his pants, and he fucking hated how easy it was to get this way just thinking about you. It didn’t take much just the memory of your legs crossed during a casual conversation, the way your shirt would ride up when you stretched, revealing the tempting curve of your waist.
He leaned back against the cool concrete of the rooftop wall, letting his head fall back with a low groan. “Goddamn it…”
He’d been so careful. So respectful. Always the charming best friend who gave you space, never said too much, never let his touches linger for too long. But he was starving now.
Keigo wanted to taste every inch of you.
He imagined it pulling you onto his lap, letting his hands explore everything he wasn’t allowed to touch. Your thighs spread for him, your breathy moans in his ear as he whispered filthy things you never thought he’d say.
“You don’t know what you do to me… how long I’ve wanted this.”
He’d take his time with you slow, worshipful, but dripping in hunger. He’d kiss down your neck, between your breasts, over your stomach, and lower, until your thighs trembled around his head. He wanted to ruin you with his mouth, over and over, until your voice was hoarse from crying out for him.
His hips shifted as he ground into his palm, teeth gritted. This wasn’t just some passing fantasy. This was a need buried in the deepest parts of him hot, relentless, consuming.
the worst part… You had no idea. You still called him your best friend. Still crashed at his place when you were too tired to go home. Still walked around in those shorts, those oversized shirts with no bra underneath, curling up beside him on the couch like it was nothing.
It wasn’t nothing to him.
Every brush of your fingers set his nerves on fire. Every laugh you shared made his heart ache and his cock twitch.
He wanted to fuck you so deep you’d forget your own name. Wanted to hear you beg wanted to make you feel good, worshiped, ruined. he’d hold back until the day that he dies. Because you trusted him. And he’d never take advantage of that. Never touch you unless you asked him to.
But he was slipping. More and more, his fantasies blurred with reality. He caught himself staring at your lips, imagining how they’d feel wrapped around his cock. He thought about bending you over his kitchen counter when you came over to cook dinner. About tasting you after a long day your sweat, your moans, your pleasure burning into his mouth like a reward.
“Fuck,” he muttered under his breath, palming himself through his pants now, just to ease the ache.
His wings twitched behind him as he imagined your voice in his ear.
“Keigo… please…”
Would you say his name like that? Would you beg for him to go deeper? Harder? Would you cry out for him, nails clawing at his back, thighs trembling as he pushed you over the edge again and again?
Would you finally look at him not just as your best friend, but as the man who’s been dying to be inside you? The man who loved you with everything he had?The thought was enough to tip him over, and he hissed your name into the night air, guilt and desire tangled up in his veins like poison.
He stayed there for a while, chest heaving, sweat beading on his brow as the tension drained from him but the ache remained. Because no matter how many times he relieved the pressure, no matter how many times he imagined your hands on him, your mouth, your body it wasn’t enough.
It would never be enough. Because he didn’t want your body for just a night. He wanted to have you consume his entire day, everyday. He wanted you. All of you.
Synopsis: You love him, hes a whole hypocrite though
𓅰 𓅬 𓅭 𓅮 𓅯 The knock on your door came just as you had started to relax for the night. You glanced at the clock late, even for him. With a sigh, you padded over, unlocking it without much thought. Hawks never really needed an invitation.
Keigo Takami stood in your doorway, grinning like he always did. The kind of grin that put people at ease, but you knew him better than that. His golden eyes flickered across your face, scanning for something maybe exhaustion, maybe suspicion.
“Hey, partner,” he greeted, stepping inside before you could respond. “I was craving chicken, and I figured, why eat alone when I could bother you instead?”
“You could eat at your place,” you shot back, closing the door behind him.
“Nah,” he waved a hand. “Too quiet. Besides, your place is way fancier. Food tastes better after being in rich people’s apartments.”
You rolled your eyes but didn’t argue. Keigo had been your friend since you debuted at eighteen. Four years of missions, battles, and shared exhaustion had formed a bond neither of you really questioned. But lately, something about him had been…off.
“Fine. I hope to not be super tired after this.”
“Obviously.” He threw an arm around your shoulders, leading you toward the door.
𓅰 𓅬 𓅭 𓅮 𓅯
You ended up on top of a bridge after grabbing food, the city sprawled beneath you in glittering lights. It was peaceful up here just the occasional hum of distant traffic and the rustling of Keigo’s feathers when he shifted. You sat side by side, bags of takeout beside you, a breeze lifting your hair.
“You ever think we peaked too early?” Keigo mused, biting into a drumstick.
“Are you having a mid life crisis at twenty two?”
He snorted. “Maybe. I mean, don’t get me wrong I love being a pro hero, but sometimes I think… I dunno. If I weren’t one, maybe my love life wouldn’t suck so bad.”
You smirked. “Yeah, you and your long line of failed flings.”
Keigo sighed dramatically. “Ouch. What about you, huh? Any luck?”
You shook your head, taking a bite of your own food. “No time. Not that you’d know anything about that, right?”
“yeah yeah,” he grinned. Then, after a pause, “You ever think about settling down?”
You raised a brow. “We sound like old people right now.”
Keigo chuckled, but there was something in his expression something calculating.
“Must be nice, though,” he continued, staring down at the city. “Having people to rely on. To trust.”
You frowned. Something about the way he said it made your stomach twist. But before you could reply, he kept going.
“Speaking of trust, I heard some interesting things lately,” he said casually, leaning back on his hands. “The League’s been moving differently. Word is, they’ve been pulling back from certain areas, regrouping.”
You tensed slightly, but forced yourself to stay relaxed. “Yeah? Didn’t hear anything about that.”
Keigo hummed, side eyeing you. “Funny. You usually have good ears for things like this.”
You knew what he was doing. He wasn’t outright accusing you wasn’t even asking directly. But he was fishing. He knew you’d been close with Dabi, and now he was prying without making it obvious.
You took another bite of food, playing it cool. “Well, if I hear anything, I’ll let you know.”
Keigo smiled, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Appreciate it.”
And just like that, the conversation shifted back to jokes and laughter. But you knew better. Hawks was good at this game at wearing masks, at pretending.
Keigo stretched his legs out, crossing them at the ankles. “You know, if we were normal, we’d probably be out right now. Living life, partying, dating.”
You snorted. “You’d probably be someone’s problem boyfriend.”
He gasped, “Wow. No faith in me at all?”
“None.”
Keigo laughed, but you could hear the strain underneath it. He was doing that thing again acting like everything was fine, like there wasn’t a million things weighing on his mind. You wanted to ask, but you already knew how that would go. He’d brush it off, give you some half truth, then change the subject.
Instead, you reached out, hesitating for only a moment before grabbing his hand. He blinked, caught off guard, but didn’t pull away.
“I mean it, Keigo,” you said, voice steady. “I know relationships are pretty much out of the picture for us, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you. You’re important to me. No matter how messy things get, I value every second I spend with you.”
For once, Keigo didn’t have a snarky response. His golden eyes softened, the usual playful glint replaced with something quieter, something more vulnerable. He squeezed your hand slightly, as if grounding himself.
“Damn,” he muttered, looking away. “You always gotta go and say stuff like that.”
You smiled. “It’s the truth.”
He exhaled through his nose, shaking his head. “You know, sometimes I wonder if I deserve that. Having people who actually care.”
You frowned. “Of course, you do.”
Keigo didn’t answer right away. His gaze flickered to your intertwined hands, then back to the city. Whatever was on his mind, he wasn’t ready to say it.
“Thanks,” he finally murmured.
The word felt heavier than it should have, like there was more he wanted to say but couldn’t. And maybe he never would. But for now, this was enough.
You stayed like that for a while, sitting together on the bridge, hands still linked. For once, neither of you needed to fill the silence.
The silence didn’t last.
Keigo shifted beside you, the weight of his gaze pressing into your side. You could feel it before he even spoke the tension rolling off of him in waves, the way his body stiffened slightly.
“I just… I worry about you, you know?” His voice was light, casual, but you weren’t stupid. You could hear the edge to it. “The League isn’t exactly the safest crowd.”
Your stomach twisted. You knew where this was going.
“I don’t know anything, Keigo.”
He gave a breathy chuckle, but it lacked humor. “Come on, I know you’re smart. You’re always in the middle of things. You’re telling me you haven’t heard anything?”
You turned to him fully now, frowning. “I said I don’t know anything.”
Something in his expression wavered, just for a second. He rubbed a hand down his face, like he was trying to steady himself, but when he spoke again, there was something sharper underneath.
“I just” He exhaled harshly. “I don’t get it. Why won’t you tell me?”
That set something off in you. You pulled your hand away from his, frustration boiling over.
“Because there’s nothing to tell, Keigo! What, do you think I’m hiding things from you? That I’m playing some kind of double agent?”
His jaw clenched. “I don’t want to think that.”
“But you do.”
He ran a hand through his hair, his feathers ruffling behind him. “You’re close with Dabi. You’re” He cut himself off, inhaling sharply before continuing. “I’ve seen what the League is capable of. And you” He gestured at you, eyes burning. “You’re getting wrapped up in it whether you realize it or not.”
You scoffed, standing up abruptly. “So that’s what this is, huh? You don’t trust me.”
Keigo stood too, stepping closer. “It’s not about trust. It’s about keeping you safe.”
You let out a bitter laugh, shaking your head. “No, this isn’t about that. You’re trying to get answers out of me. Like I’m some suspect.”
Keigo’s usual mask was gone now no charming smiles, no lazy grins. His wings twitched, and his hands curled into fists at his sides.
“The Commission” He stopped himself again, shutting his eyes for a moment before reopening them. “I have to do this.”
You felt something crack in your chest. “So that’s what I am to you? A job?”
“Of course not!” His voice was sharper than before, his usual control slipping. “But if they think you know something, they’re gonna keep pushing! And if you do know something and don’t tell me, then what the hell am I supposed to do?”
“I already told you I don’t know anything! But that doesn’t matter, does it? Because you already made up your mind.”
His wings flared out, feathers rustling with tension. “You think I want to do this? You think I like treating you like this?”
You crossed your arms, biting the inside of your cheek. “Sure seems like it.”
Keigo let out a harsh breath, and suddenly, his frustration snapped into something else something desperate.
“I love you.”
The words hit like a shockwave, knocking the wind out of you. Your eyes widened, but he didn’t stop.
“I love you, okay?” His voice was rough, strained. “That’s why this is so fucking hard. That’s why I can’t just sit back and let you ” He exhaled shakily, shaking his head. “I can’t lose you.”
Your heart pounded in your chest. He was breathing hard, his golden eyes wild with emotion. You had never seen him like this never seen him so raw.
The tension between you was thick, the city buzzing below, but up here, it was just the two of you. And you had no idea what to say.
“Fuck, Keigo.”
Your voice came out barely above a whisper, but the weight of it was enough to make him flinch. His wings, usually so steady, twitched behind him, like he was fighting the urge to fly away.
You didn’t know what to say. Lord knows you loved him you would do anything for him. But this? This hurt. The way he was looking at you, the way he was questioning you like you were some kind of liability instead of his friend. Instead of someone who had been by his side for years.
Your hands moved on their own, reaching up to cup his face. He stiffened at first, but then melted into your touch, his breath uneven.
You searched his face, desperate to find the trust that should have been there. But all you could see was hurt.
Hurt because he knew this was wrong. Hurt because he had to do it anyway.
And longing. Longing for something he had convinced himself he couldn’t have. Longing because, despite everything, despite the lines being blurred and the masks slipping, he wanted you.
You swallowed hard, your thumbs tracing along his jaw. “You don’t have to do this,” you murmured.
Keigo let out a shaky breath, his eyes fluttering shut for a moment before meeting yours again. “I do.” His voice cracked slightly. “You don’t get it. If I don’t… they will.”
Your grip on him tightened. “I don’t know anything, Keigo.”
His brows furrowed, frustration flickering across his face before it faded into something more vulnerable. “Then why do they think you do?”
“I don’t know,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. “Dabi and I, fuck Keigo we just talk. After fights, after missions. That’s it.”
His eyes searched yours, and for the first time tonight, it felt like he was actually listening. Like he was really seeing you.
His hands came up, hesitating for only a second before resting over yours, keeping them against his face. His touch was warm, calloused from years of battle, but there was a softness there too. A silent plea.
“I don’t want to do this,” he whispered.
Your chest ached. “Then don’t.”
Keigo let out a bitter laugh, shaking his head. “If only it were that simple.”
You wanted to scream. You wanted to shake him and make him see that it was that simple. That he didn’t have to follow the Commission’s orders like a puppet, that he didn’t have to do this to you to himself.
But deep down, you knew that wasn’t how it worked. that was the worst part of all. The first tear slipped out before you could stop it.
Then another.
And another.
You didn’t even realize you were crying at first, too consumed by the frustration bubbling in your chest, the betrayal clawing at your throat. Your hands were still on his face, trembling now, and Keigo’s eyes widened as he felt the wetness of your tears bleed into his heart.
“Hey”
You sucked in a sharp breath, but it didn’t help. The weight of everything crashed over you all at once.
You had spent years fighting, bleeding, sacrificing to protect people to make the world safer, to do the right thing. And this was your reward? Being questioned like a criminal? Being treated like someone who couldn’t be trusted by the one person who should have known better?
You let out a broken, bitter laugh, your grip on Keigo tightening. “I’ve killed for this job,” you choked out. “I’ve bled for it. I’ve given everything to make sure people are safe. And the thanks I get is my best friend accusing me like I’m some kind of traitor?” Your voice cracked at the end, and you let your forehead drop against his. “The Commission making you accuse me?”
Keigo inhaled sharply, like your words physically hurt him.
“Fuck,” he muttered under his breath, and before you could say anything else, his arms were around you.
He pulled you into him, crushing you against his chest, his wings wrapping around the both of you like a shield. His grip was almost desperate, like he was afraid that if he let go, you’d disappear entirely.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured against your hair, his voice raw. “Fuck I’m so sorry.”
But it didn’t fix anything.
It didn’t take away the ache in your chest, the sting of his accusations, the knowledge that if the Commission had its way, he’d be forced to keep pushing.
Still, you clung to him, your fists curling into his jacket. Because despite everything, despite the pain, despite the betrayal. You still loved him. that was the worst part of all.
Your fingers curled into the fabric of his jacket, holding onto him like he was the only thing keeping you grounded. But the weight in your chest, the sting in your throat it wasn’t going away.
You squeezed your eyes shut, trying to steady your breath, but it came out shaky and uneven. And as much as you wanted to stay in his arms, to pretend like none of this was happening, you couldn’t.
So you let go.
You pulled back, slipping from his hold, and immediately, his arms twitched like he wanted to reach for you again. But he didn’t.
You took a step back. Then another. His wings twitched, his golden eyes wide and desperate.
“I don’t…” Your voice cracked, and you swallowed, shaking your head. “I don’t think we should see each other anymore.”
Keigo stiffened, the color draining from his face. “What?”
You wiped at your cheeks roughly, trying to catch your breath. “This us it’s just gonna keep getting worse. The Commission’s already pushing you to treat me like a suspect, and I can’t I won’t keep going through this.”
His expression twisted, panic flickering behind his eyes. “If we stop seeing each other, they’ll just use that as another excuse to build a case against you.” His voice was sharp, urgent. “They’ll say you’re cutting ties because you have something to hide.”
“It doesn’t matter.”
His brows furrowed, frustration creeping into his features. “Of course it fucking matters.”
You let out a bitter laugh, running a hand through your hair. “Keigo, how am I supposed to be around you if I know every conversation we have is controlled?” You gestured vaguely between the two of you. “If I can’t even tell if you’re talking to me or to the Commission?”
He opened his mouth, then shut it, his throat working as he swallowed hard.
You took another step back. He took a step forward.
You held up a hand to stop him, your breath shaky. “I love you, Keigo.”
His whole body froze, like he wasn’t sure he heard you right. His wings twitched again, his feathers rustling in the cool night air.
“I love you,” you repeated, your voice softer this time. “And I meant what I said I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. But I can’t trust you anymore.”
The words shattered something in him. You saw it happen in real time. His jaw clenched, his eyes darkening, his hands twitching at his sides like he wanted to grab you and shake you and beg you to take it back.
“Wait,” he said, and his voice almost sounded broken. “Just wait.”
But you shook your head.
“I can’t do this,” you whispered.
Keigo’s breath hitched, and for the first time since you had met him, you saw something you never thought you’d see in him.
Fear.
Not fear of the Commission. Not fear of the League. Fear of losing you.
And as you turned away, his hands curled into fists, his mind racing with the realization that the Commission had just done the one thing he never thought possible.
They had pitted you against each other.
And he had let them.
The moment you disappeared from sight, the weight of it all crashed down on him.
Keigo staggered back, his breath coming in short, uneven gasps. His wings drooped, feathers trembling as if they could barely hold themselves up anymore.
You were gone.
His hands came up to his face, fingers curling into his hair as he let out a harsh, broken breath. He squeezed his eyes shut, but all he could see was you. The way your voice cracked when you told him you loved him. The way your eyes shined with betrayal. The way you walked away.
His chest felt tight too tight.
He had spent his whole life playing this game, moving pieces around the board, following orders, doing what needed to be done. He had done it all without hesitation, without attachment, without caring.
Because caring got people killed. Caring made you weak.
At least, that’s what he had always believed.
Then you happened.
And he hadn’t even realized how much you meant to him until he was watching you slip through his fingers.
A sharp, choked noise tore from his throat as he staggered forward, his hands gripping at his hair. His chest hurt. He had never felt this before not even as a kid, not even when he was forced into a life that wasn’t his own.
Because back then, it hadn’t mattered.
But you had mattered.
You had trusted him. You had let him in, had told him how much he meant to you. And in return?
He had destroyed it.
His knees hit the metal of the bridge, and he barely even registered it. His wings curled around him, shielding him from the rest of the world, but it didn’t matter.
Nothing mattered anymore.
Because for the first time in his life He had let someone in. And he had ruined it.
The television flickered in the dimly lit room, its glow casting soft shadows against the walls. Keigo Takami otherwise known as Hawks leaned back in his seat, golden eyes trained on the screen as a familiar figure appeared.
It had been months.
Keigo’s eyes followed every headline, every news segment, every article that mentioned you.
Y/n Soars to New Heights: A Pro Hero On the Rise
Hero Y/n’s Daring Rescue Saves Dozens in Quirk Incident
Top 10 Pro Hero Y/n: The Future of Japan’s Hero Society
Each headline was another stab to his chest. He saw the numbers, the statistics, the articles that spoke of your bravery, your skill, your rise to the top. The world had watched you climb, and you had done it with grace, with skill, with everything he knew you were capable of.
“Once again, Japan’s rising star, Y/n, has taken down another villain with efficiency and grace!”
The anchor’s voice carried an air of excitement, painting you as a beacon of hope for the country. Footage played of you in action your movements sharp and calculated, your quirk flowing seamlessly between offense and defense. The crowd erupted in cheers, reporters clamoring for your attention, yet you only offered them a polite nod before moving on, as if there was always more work to be done.
Keigo exhaled through his nose, rubbing the bridge of it between his fingers.
He wasn’t surprised. You had always been relentless in your pursuit of justice. He had seen it firsthand, the way you carried the weight of expectations without complaint. But now, watching you through the cold lens of a camera, he could see what no one else seemed to notice.
You were drowning yourself in work.
News articles flooded his phone.
“Japan’s Heroine Y/n Soars Higher Than Ever!”
“Y/n: The New Symbol of Hope?”
“Nonstop Victories, But At What Cost?”
The last one caught his attention. Clicking on the article, he scanned through the words. Some journalist had picked up on it too the dark circles beneath your eyes, the way your posture stiffened ever so slightly after every battle. But the world only saw the hero. They saw the unwavering smile, the power, the perfection.
Keigo knew better.
You were running yourself ragged, and he couldn’t do a damn thing about it.
His hands clenched into fists. He had never felt so useless before. In the past, he would have sent a teasing message, a check in disguised as banter, just to make sure you were okay. But now, his wings were clipped metaphorically and literally. The mission he was on kept him far from the public eye, and any contact with you would compromise everything.
Still, he watched.
Night after night, he kept up with your hero work through screens and articles, seeing the light in your eyes dim just a little more each time. The world was blind to it, too enamored by your victories to notice the toll they took on you.
Keigo sighed, leaning back in his chair, staring at the ceiling.
“Dammit, Y/n.”
He wanted to tell you to slow down. That you didn’t have to carry everything alone. But he knew you you wouldn’t listen, not when you thought the weight was yours to bear.
But as he watched from afar, he saw something else something he knew he couldn’t ignore.
You were drowning.
It wasn’t hard to see, not if you looked closely enough. There were the faint bags under your eyes, the way your smile didn’t quite reach your eyes in the photos. He could see it in the way you moved quick, efficient, but with a certain rigidity, like you were trying to keep the pieces of yourself together.
The interviews, the press events, the rescue missions. You were out there always out there. Never stopping. Always moving.
Keigo had seen this before. It was the kind of thing that had broken him.
The thing he was now witnessing in you.
You were using your work as a shield. You were burying yourself in it, pretending that the mess of the world, the constant need to be the best, would somehow fill the hollow space where everything else had fallen apart. You were drowning in your responsibilities, in the expectations of others. And he hated himself for not being able to stop it.
He couldn’t reach you.
He couldn’t be the person you needed.
The Commission had made it clear the moment you walked away they had made sure that there would be no contact, no easy path to you. They had pushed him away, forced him to see you as an obstacle, a potential threat.
He had followed the orders. He had stayed away.
But every day, every night, when he saw the photos, heard the reports of your latest success, it felt like another punch to the gut. He couldn’t reach you, couldn’t protect you. And worse he was the reason you had shut him out.
You deserve better than this, he thought, each time he saw a picture of you smiling, though it never quite reached your eyes. You deserve better than me.
The most recent headline:
Y/n’s Heroic Feat: A Mission Gone Wrong Injuries and Recovering, But Will She Stay at the Top?
The article detailed how you had barely made it out of a dangerous mission, sustained injuries, and had pushed through it, despite the odds. The photos showed you at the hospital, a bruise on your cheek, your expression cold and distant as you posed for the cameras. Your usual confidence was there, but it was muted like a shell of yourself.
Keigo’s fingers clenched around the coffee cup in his hand, his gaze locked on the screen.
There it was again you were hurting.
But he couldn’t be there. He couldn’t reach you, couldn’t protect you. The Commission had made sure of that.
Every day, it ate at him. The guilt. The fear. The constant ache in his chest. And all he could do was watch.
Because that’s all he was allowed to do.
He turned away from the screen and ran a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply. He couldn’t keep doing this.
But as much as he wanted to move on, as much as he wanted to focus on his own missions and do what the Commission had trained him for, he knew he couldn’t.
You were out there, giving everything for a world that barely understood you.
And he was here, stuck in a cage of his own making.
“Fuck,” Keigo whispered to himself. “I miss you.”
But you were gone. And he was the one who had pushed you away.
That was the price he paid for trying to be the hero everyone needed. The cost of being a tool of the Commission.
He couldn’t even hate them for it. Not when it was his own failure that had led to this.
𓅰 𓅬 𓅭 𓅮 𓅯
Keigo sat in the Commission’s office, his expression neutral as he listened to the orders being laid out before him. The air was stale, the weight of the conversation pressing down on his shoulders. He knew what was coming before they even said it.
“Your next mission is infiltration.”
The head of the Commission, a woman with sharp eyes and a voice that left no room for argument, slid a file across the table. Keigo barely glanced at it. He already knew whose name was inside.
“The League of Villains is growing stronger. We need someone on the inside. Someone they’ll trust. You have the skills to make this work, Hawks.”
His fingers tightened around the edge of the folder.
“You’ve already shown your ability to keep a close eye on potential threats before.”
The words weren’t just words. They were deliberate. A reminder.
A reminder that they had once given him a different mission to keep tabs on you.
And what had they accused you of?
“Suspicious relationships with certain individuals.”
“Questionable morals due to prolonged conversations with known villains.”
“Potential compromise to the hero system.”
All because you had spoken to someone deemed dangerous. All because you hadn’t followed their rigid, black and white definition of justice.
And now, they were telling him to do the same thing.
A bitter laugh curled at the edges of his thoughts, though he kept his face unreadable. So it was fine when it was for them? When it was for the mission?
Hypocrites.
Keigo wanted to tell them to go to hell. That he saw through their bullshit. That if they thought he hadn’t noticed how they twisted things to suit their needs, they were dead wrong.
But he didn’t.
Because despite the anger curling in his gut, despite the guilt gnawing at his ribs, he still cared.
He cared about the future. About a world where kids didn’t have to grow up training to fight for their lives. A world where people had too much time on their hands instead of living in constant fear.
A world where you were safe.
So he bit his tongue.
“Understood,” he said instead, voice smooth and unwavering.
The Commission nodded, satisfied.
As the meeting wrapped up, Keigo tucked the folder under his arm and left the room. His steps were light, easy, just like always. But inside, his thoughts swirled like a storm.
⸻
Later that night, he sat on the rooftop of a tall building, the city stretching out beneath him. The folder lay open beside him, the moonlight illuminating the pages.
Dabi.
He had never spoken to the guy. Only knew what the files told him. Ruthless. Unpredictable. Dangerous. The League’s arsonist. The only reason Dabi hadn’t been fully exposed was because he covered his tracks well.
And yet, there was one thing in these files that stood out more than anything else.
You knew him.
You talked to him sometimes. That alone had been enough for the Commission to put you under watch. Enough for them to wonder if you could be turned into a threat.
Keigo exhaled slowly, rubbing the back of his neck.
It felt wrong. All of it.
But he had already made his choice.
If playing the villain meant securing a world where you wouldn’t have to look over your shoulder every day, then he would do it.
Even if it meant stepping into the same shadows they once accused you of standing in.
𓅰 𓅬 𓅭 𓅮 𓅯
It wasn’t like you had planned for things to turn out this way.
But after everything with Hawks after the accusations, the betrayal, the months of silence you had found yourself somewhere you never expected.
With Dabi.
It hadn’t happened overnight. At first, he was just another thorn in your side, another ghost you kept running into when the night was too quiet and your thoughts were too loud. But for whatever reason, the two of you had fallen into an odd sort of rhythm.
Dabi didn’t ask questions. Didn’t pry. He didn’t look at you with pity or expectation. He was just there, in the same way you were floating, untethered, existing in the spaces where heroes and villains blurred.
And maybe that’s why you were here now.
The scent of burnt concrete and gunpowder still clung to the air, mixing with the sharp, acrid smell of Dabi’s scorched skin. The battle had ended not long ago, and now, the two of you sat in the dimly lit hideout, the flickering light casting long shadows across the worn out walls.
“You looked like shit out there,” you teased, stretching your legs out in front of you as you leaned back against the couch.
Dabi scoffed, rolling his shoulder with a slight wince. “Yeah? And you looked like a damn try hard. What, gunning for some hero points?”
You snorted. “Please, like I need to impress anyone.”
Dabi grinned, a lazy, knowing smirk as he tapped ash from his cigarette onto the floor. “Right, right. Forgot you’re already Miss Popular out there. Japan’s sweetheart.”
“You’re just mad I had you on your knees.”
“dont make shit up.”
“You were about to eat pavement, dude.”
He flicked the cigarette away, leaning forward with an elbow on his knee. “Tch. Whatever helps you sleep at night, sweetheart.”
You rolled your eyes, tossing a nearby rag at him. Dabi caught it effortlessly, shaking his head. “Annoying.”
Before you could respond, the door creaked open.
Your breath caught.
For a moment, you thought your eyes were playing tricks on you. It had been months months since you’d seen him.
Yet, there he stood.
Hawks.
He looked the same as always messy blond hair, sharp golden eyes, wings tucked neatly behind him. But there was something off about seeing him now, here, in this space. Like an image that didn’t belong in the same frame.
Your reaction must have been obvious, because Dabi’s gaze flicked between the two of you, a slow, amused smirk creeping onto his face.
“Well, well,” Dabi mused, leaning back. “Didn’t think I’d be seeing a celebrity tonight.”
Hawks smiled easy, smooth, like he was slipping into a familiar rhythm. “What can I say? Thought I’d drop by, see what all the hype’s about.”
His eyes flickered to you, just for a second.
You were still staring. You hated that you were still staring.
Months. Months. And now he was just… here?
“Guess you finally wanted to be cool,” Dabi said, standing up slowly. “Took you long enough, bird boy.”
Hawks let out a laugh, loose and effortless. “Hey, better late than never, right?”
Dabi tilted his head, watching him. Sizing him up. “So, what? You lookin’ to make friends?”
“Something like that,” Hawks said, slipping his hands into his pockets. His tone was light, playful, but you knew him well enough to catch the calculation behind his words.
Dabi must’ve caught it, too, because his smirk widened slightly, like he was deciding just how much he wanted to play with his new toy.
“Sweetheart,” Dabi suddenly drawled, shifting toward you, “you didn’t tell me you and our new guest had history.”
You felt your stomach drop.
Hawks didn’t react.
Not even a twitch.
Dabi, of course, wasn’t done. He took a step closer, slinging an arm around your shoulder in an almost lazy manner, fingers drumming lightly against your arm.
Hawks’ gaze flicked to the movement quick, calculated. But he didn’t break.
Not even a hint of irritation, no change in posture. He just smiled, golden eyes still half lidded with that same effortless charm.
“Guess she didn’t think it was important,” Hawks mused, voice smooth as ever. “Can’t say I blame her.”
Dabi’s fingers tightened ever so slightly on your shoulder, and you felt the heat of his skin even through the fabric. He was testing. Poking at the edges.
“Mm. Maybe,” Dabi mused. “Or maybe she just didn’t want you to know.”
“Now, why would she do that?” Hawks asked, tilting his head, his voice still perfectly even.
You could feel the tension between them, even if it was all wrapped in easy smiles and playful words.
You exhaled, finally moving.
“Alright, enough,” you muttered, shoving Dabi’s arm off you. “I’ve had enough for the night.”
Your tone was casual, but you knew you knew that your hands were trembling just a little.
Dabi let his arm fall away easily, watching you with amusement. “Aw, come on, sweetheart. We were just getting started.”
You shook your head, already walking past them, needing space. “Not in the mood for whatever weird macho thing you two are doing. Try not to kill each other.”
You didn’t look back.
Didn’t want to see the way Hawks was watching you.
Didn’t want to think about why he was here. And definitely didn’t want to acknowledge the way your heart was still racing.
𓅰 𓅬 𓅭 𓅮 𓅯
The sky burned.
Smoke curled into the air, thick and suffocating, a mix of fire, blood, and the crumbling remains of the Meta Liberation Army’s last stand. The battlefield was a mess of clashing wills heroes and villains tearing through each other in a violent symphony of destruction.
And at the center of it all, Hawks stood with blood on his hands.
Twice lay lifeless at his feet.
His chest rose and fell heavily, his wings twitching with adrenaline, but there was no time to breathe, no time to process.
Because standing just a few meters away, fire licking at his fingertips, was Dabi.
The villain’s usual smirk was absent. His blue eyes burned hotter than his flames, sharp with something Hawks couldn’t quite place anger, satisfaction, something in between.
“You heroes are all the same,” Dabi muttered, taking a slow step forward. “Always so high and mighty. Always so convinced you’re better than us.”
Hawks tightened his grip on his remaining feathers. “You think Twice would’ve been better off if I let him go?”
Dabi’s laugh was sharp and bitter. “Oh, don’t give me that crap. This wasn’t about saving people. You’re just another pawn doing whatever the Commission tells you, right? Good little lapdog.”
Hawks didn’t flinch, but the words dug in.
Dabi’s flames flickered to life, casting shadows across the ruined battlefield. “Tell me, Hawks. Did it feel good? Taking down a guy who just wanted to protect his friends?”
Hawks exhaled, steadying himself. “I’m not getting into this with you.”
But Dabi wasn’t finished.
His smirk returned, slow and deliberate, and Hawks didn’t like it.
“Yeah, that’s right,” Dabi mused. “Wouldn’t want to ruin that righteous hero image of yours, huh?”
Hawks knew what this was. Psychological warfare. Dabi was trying to dig into his head, to make him hesitate. But Hawks couldn’t afford to he needed to finish this quickly.
A red feather shot toward Dabi in a blur of speed.
But Dabi was already moving.
Flames roared to life, meeting the attack head on, burning the feather into nothing. He closed the distance between them fast, forcing Hawks back with a wall of searing heat.
“You really don’t like talking about yourself, do you?” Dabi taunted, voice dripping with amusement. “Always gotta focus on the mission. But let’s talk about something more interesting.”
Hawks didn’t respond he couldn’t afford to. His feathers moved like blades, slicing through the air, but Dabi dodged, relentless in his approach.
And then Dabi said something that made Hawks’ blood freeze.
“She’s been treating me real nice, you know.”
Hawks’ entire body tensed.
Dabi grinned, sensing the shift. “Ah, so you do care.”
Hawks’ feathers shot forward in a flurry, faster, sharper, but Dabi dodged with ease, the flames around him growing wilder.
“You should see her, Hawks,” Dabi continued, voice smooth, taunting. “The way she looks at me. The way she lets me touch her.”
Something inside Hawks snapped.
He moved without thinking, faster than before, closing the distance between them with a brutal efficiency. His feathers struck harder, aiming for vital points.
But Dabi wasn’t done.
“She never mentioned it?” Dabi dodged, twisting out of the way at the last second. “How we spend our special time together?”
Hawks’ next attack wasn’t clean. It wasn’t precise. It was pure anger.
His feathers slashed out with no restraint.
Dabi barely managed to throw up a wall of fire in time, skidding back as the force of the attack cut through his jacket, slicing against his skin.
“Ohh,” Dabi let out a low whistle, shaking out his arms. “Touched a nerve, huh?”
Hawks didn’t answer. Couldn’t. His heart was pounding.
Dabi laughed, slow and deliberate, eyes flickering with something dangerous.
“That’s what I thought.”
But Hawks didn’t let him say anything else. Because in the next second, he was on him.
This fight was over.
𓅰 𓅬 𓅭 𓅮 𓅯
The hospital room was dimly lit, the only source of light spilling in from the window. It was quiet too quiet. The kind of silence that followed catastrophe, where the air was too still, too heavy, as if the world itself was still trying to understand the weight of what had happened.
Your body ached with every breath. The bandages wrapped around your torso were tight, holding together wounds that had nearly been fatal. Every movement reminded you of how close you had been to not making it out.
And yet, all of that the pain, the exhaustion, the weight of the war it all faded away the moment the door opened.
You almost didn’t turn.
You had spent weeks expecting to see him, waiting, hoping but he never came.
Not when you needed him. Not when everything fell apart.
And yet, something in you recognized him before you even looked.
When you finally did, you felt your breath hitch.
Keigo.
He stood in the doorway, alive but barely.
His wings were a shadow of what they once were. The red feathers that had once been so vibrant were scorched, burnt at the edges, some missing entirely. His body was wrapped in bandages, his movements slower, weaker. But what hit you the hardest was the mask strapped over his mouth.
A speaker had been attached to it, taking over for the voice he had nearly lost in the fire.
Dabi’s flames had nearly ruined him.
You sat there, frozen, staring.
Your heart clenched so painfully it felt like another wound had opened up inside you.
And then you moved.
The blanket was thrown off, the pain screaming through your body as you forced yourself to stand. Your legs were unsteady, but you didn’t care. You needed to reach him.
Your hands curled into fists before you could stop yourself, and the moment you were close enough you hit him.
He didn’t move.
Your fist landed against his chest, not hard enough to hurt him, but enough to feel it.
Then you hit him again.
And again.
“You!” Your voice cracked, emotion clogging your throat, burning behind your eyes.
He didn’t stop you.
“You accused me” Another hit, weaker than the last. “You said I was playing both sides that I wasn’t loyal!”
Your breath was coming in ragged gasps now, your vision blurring as you kept hitting him, kept pushing him, as if forcing him to feel just a fraction of the hurt you had been carrying.
“Then you” Your fists trembled as they pressed against him. Your knees felt weak. Your voice cracked.
“You did the exact same thing.”
The words barely made it past your lips before they were swallowed by a sob.
You had tried so hard to stay angry. To hold onto the rage, the betrayal because anger was easier than hurt.
But seeing him now, standing in front of you alive but barely holding on It was too much.
Your fists loosened, curling into his shirt instead, gripping him as if he would disappear if you let go.
“I thought you were dead.”
Your voice broke entirely, and the dam inside you cracked, the emotions you had been holding in for months finally spilling over.
The nights spent staring at the news, searching for any sign that he was still alive.
The silence stretching on for too long.
The fear that you had lost him forever.
Your body trembled as you pressed your forehead against his chest, the sobs wracking through you with the force of everything you had been desperately trying to bury.
And then finally he moved.
His hands rose, hesitating for only a second before they touched you.
One cradled the back of your head, fingers threading gently through your hair. The other wiped at your tears with his thumbs, his touch impossibly gentle despite the roughness of his gloves.
And then he did something he shouldn’t have.
He pulled off the mask.
You gasped. “Keigo”
He shouldn’t have. You knew it. He knew it.
But when he spoke, his voice was hoarse and broken, ruined by the burns, by the damage that had permanently scarred him but the words hit harder than anything else.
“I missed you.”
Your breath caught.
His thumb traced the tear streaked path down your cheek, his touch trembling, but steady.
“I never” His voice faltered, the pain clear in the way his throat choked on the words, but he forced them out anyway. “I never stopped regretting it.”
Your fingers tightened in his shirt, anchoring yourself to him.
“Letting them control me,” he rasped. “Letting them ruin this. Ruin us.”
His forehead pressed against yours, his breath uneven, shaky.
“I’m so sorry.”
You swallowed, your tears still slipping down your cheeks, your emotions still raw, still aching.
But you could see it now the weight he carried. The exhaustion in his eyes. The guilt that had been eating him alive from the inside out.
Even if he had a hundred lifetimes, even if he was reborn again and again, you knew.
He would regret this every single time.
Regret losing you.
Your fingers uncurled from his shirt, moving up to cup his face, your thumbs tracing along his cheekbones. His skin was warm beneath your touch, warmer than you remembered. Maybe from the burns. Maybe from the way he was looking at you.
You swallowed the lump in your throat.
“You should’ve come back sooner.”
His eyes softened, his hands still cradling your face, thumbs still brushing over your skin as if trying to memorize the shape of you, to convince himself that you were real.
“I know.” His voice was so hoarse, so wrecked, but still so him.
Your chest ached at the sound of it.
“You scared me,” you whispered, fingers curling into his skin. “I thought ” You swallowed, voice trembling. “I thought I’d never see you again.”
His breath hitched.
“You think I didn’t feel the same?” His forehead pressed more firmly against yours. “Every day, I thought about you.”
Your heart clenched.
“I don’t want to do this again,” you whispered. “I don’t want to lose you again.”
His grip tightened. “You won’t.”
There was so much promise in those two words, so much desperation, as if he was trying to will them into being true.
You weren’t sure if you could believe it. Not yet. Not with the war still raging, not with everything still uncertain. But you wanted to.
Dabi x Reader | Hawks x Reader
teehee i have issues… my other works - masterlist
synopsis: Between hero catcalling, banter, and some very suspicious shoulder to shoulder proximity, one thing is clear: Y/n otherwise known as pro hero Lumine has a type, and it’s problematic.
you let the cool night air settle over your skin as you gazed at the city below. The hum of neon lights, the distant chatter of people, the occasional wail of sirens, it was all background noise to the quiet moment you had carved out for yourself. Well, semi quiet. Dabi stood a few feet away, leaning against the rusted railing, cigarette dangling lazily between his fingers. The soft glow of the embers flickered against his scarred skin, casting sharp shadows across his features. He exhaled a slow curl of smoke, blue eyes watching you through the haze, unreadable.
He was close enough that you could feel the occasional brush of his presence, subtle things. The way his arm ghosted yours when he shifted, how his voice dipped just a little lower when he spoke, like this was some shared secret neither of you were acknowledging.
“You’re quieter than usual,” Dabi murmured, flicking the ash off the end of his cigarette. “That big hero life finally breaking you down?”
You huffed a soft laugh, tilting your head. “Nah. Just enjoying the moment. Kinda nice when you’re not actively trying to burn me alive.” Dabi smirked, amused. “Give it time.”
Before you could shoot back a reply, movement in the sky caught your attention a blur of crimson and gold slicing through the night, wings illuminated by city lights. With a wicked grin, you cupped your hands around your mouth and called out, “Damn, Hawks! Lookin’ good up there! Show me what those wings can do, baby!”
Hawks, mid flight, visibly stuttered in the air. His wings faltered for half a second before he caught himself, twisting in your direction. Even from here, you could see the slow smirk pulling at his lips.The moment the words left your mouth, With a flick of his fingers, one of his feathers shot toward you. fast, but not actually meant to hit. It whizzed past your face, stirring your hair before circling back to him.
“Lumine, you flirt!” he called out, amusement lacing his voice as he swooped lower. “Calling for me from the rooftops now?” he called back, voice dripping with amusement. With an effortless flick of his wings, he shot downward, landing in a graceful crouch before standing to his full height. He tucked his feathers in smoothly, golden eyes locking onto yours first then, slowly, sliding to Dabi.
And just like that, the amusement in his expression cooled.
“…Okay.” Hawks’ posture shifted, subtle but there his wings twitching slightly, muscles tightening just enough to be noticeable. His sharp gaze flickered back to you, his smile still in place but lighter now, more calculated. “So. Why are you hanging out with this guy?”
Dabi, who had been watching this entire exchange with an expression of increasing boredom, let out an exaggerated groan. “Oh, great. The chicken landed.”
Hawks ignored him completely, his focus still locked on you. His voice was light, casual, but his eyes? His eyes were searching tracking, assessing.
“hmmm it really is a nice night,” he pointed out, head tilting slightly. “you’re not fraternizing with the enemy now?”
You rolled your eyes. “Relax, Bird Boy. I’m just hanging out.”
“…With him?”
“Yup.”
Hawks let out a slow breath through his nose, like he was trying to process that without reacting. Then, as if deciding to take another approach, he took a single step closer, his shoulder nearly brushing yours. “Y’know,” he mused, voice dipping into something smoother, more coaxing, “you could’ve called me if you wanted company. I would’ve been here in seconds. Way better company, too.”
Dabi let out a scoff, unimpressed. “Wow, subtle. Real smooth.”
Hawks shot him a side glance, then turned back to you, golden eyes half lidded, lazy with amusement. “What, I’m not allowed to be worried about my favorite pro hero?” His voice softened slightly, just enough that it felt personal, like he was directing it just to you. “Seriously, Lumine. What’s the deal?”
Dabi shifted beside you, taking another slow drag of his cigarette, exhaling the smoke in a way that almost curled toward you before dissipating. You felt the faintest brush of his fingers against the back of your hand so fleeting it could’ve been mistaken for nothing at all. “You really need to raise your standards,” Dabi muttered.
You arched a brow at him. “i’m not sure if you’re any better”
Dabi shrugged. “Doesn’t mean I’m wrong.”
Hawks let out a slow chuckle, running a gloved hand through his windswept hair. “Wow, that’s crazy. Exact same thing I was about to say.”
You exhaled, shaking your head. “You guys are exhausting.”
Hawks leaned in just slightly, voice dropping low enough that Dabi wouldn’t hear it over the city noise. “You good?”
You glanced at him, surprised by the sudden shift in tone. His eyes weren’t just sharp now they were searching, careful, like he was looking for something beneath the surface. It wasn’t teasing anymore. It wasn’t playful. He was checking in. The corner of your mouth twitched up, but you kept your voice casual. “I’m fine, Kei.”
Hawks held your gaze for a beat longer, then exhaled, his easygoing smirk slipping back into place. “If you say so.”
Dabi watched the exchange with a blank expression before finally tossing his cigarette to the side, crushing it under his boot. “Alright, that’s my cue. I’ve hit my quota for annoying hero interactions tonight.” He stretched, rolling his shoulders before glancing down at you. Then, in the most casual, unbothered way possible, he reached out, fingers briefly ghosting over your wrist before stuffing his hands into his pockets. Just enough contact to be noticed. Just enough to linger.
Hawks’ wings flared, just slightly. Dabi smirked looking at his reaction. “Try not to let Bird Brain here talk your ear off.”
With that, he turned and disappeared into the shadows as easily as he’d arrived. Hawks let out a slow exhale, dragging a hand down his face. “You really know how to pick ‘em, huh?”
You grinned. “That’s how i got to know you”
Hawks just shook his head, eyes flickering to where Dabi had vanished. And then, almost too quiet to hear. “…Don’t let him pull you under, Y/n.”
watching as Dabi left, his sharp eyes lingering on the spot for a moment longer than necessary. His wings twitched slightly, a small, restless movement, before he finally turned his attention back to you. You could see it in his face he wasn’t just brushing this off. The usual playful glint in his eyes had dulled, replaced by something softer. More serious.
He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Y/n…”
That alone was enough to make you pause. He rarely said your name like that. like it was weighted, like he was choosing his words carefully. He took a step closer, his voice dropping just slightly. “Talk to me. What’s going on?”
You raised a brow. “Uh, we were just hanging out? You act like I got caught committing a crime.”
Hawks frowned, his golden eyes scanning your face, searching. “That’s not what I mean, and you know it.” His voice was quieter now, almost gentle. “Why are you hanging out with Dabi?”
You exhaled through your nose, leaning against the ledge. “I dunno, Kei. It’s not that deep. I just… got used to him, I guess. We cross paths a lot, and sometimes, I don’t feel like fighting. So we talk.”
Hawks didn’t look convinced. He stepped even closer, his warmth pressing against your side. “He’s dangerous, Lumine. And I know you can handle yourself. hell, you’re stronger than half the heroes I know but that’s not the point.”
There was something about the way he said it, the way his voice softened at the edges, that made your chest tighten just a little. You forced a smirk, bumping your shoulder against his. “What, you worried about me?”
Hawks didn’t laugh. Instead, he reached out and flicked a loose strand of hair away from your face, his gloved fingers barely grazing your skin. His touch was light, fleeting, but it left warmth in its wake.
“Of course, I’m worried about you, dumbass,” he muttered, his brows furrowing. “You matter to me, okay? And I know you. when you let people hang around, there’s always a reason. So, what’s the reason?”
You swallowed, caught off guard by the sincerity in his voice. Hawks was always teasing, always throwing out quick witted remarks and playful jabs. You looked away, focusing on the city lights instead of the concern in his eyes. “I don’t know,” you admitted after a pause. “I guess… I see something in him.”
Hawks’ wings drooped slightly. “Y/n—”
“Not like that,” you sighed. “I know he’s a villain. I know he’s done terrible things. But sometimes, when he’s not being, y’know, Dabi. he’s just some guy who’s been hurt one too many times. And I don’t think he ever really had someone in his corner.”
Hawks’ lips pressed into a thin line. He didn’t look angry, just… sad. Like he understood exactly what you meant, and that only made this worse. After a long silence, he huffed out a breath and shook his head. “You always do this,” he murmured, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “Always finding strays.”
You smirked. “You say that like I didn’t find you first.”
Hawks let out a soft chuckle, tilting his head. “Yeah, but I’m a catch.”
You rolled your eyes, shoving him lightly, and this time he actually laughed. But the concern never fully left his face. “Just… promise me something,” he said, his voice quieter again. “Be careful. I don’t want to lose you to someone who doesn’t deserve you.”
Your heart stuttered in your chest, but you played it off with a grin. “Damn, Hawks. If I didn’t know better, i’d say you were in love with me”
He clicked his tongue, stepping back with a smirk, but his wings stretched slightly like he was reluctant to leave. “Tch, don’t get cocky.” But then his expression softened again, his golden eyes warm as they met yours. “…Just don’t make me worry, okay?”
You gave him a lazy salute. “No promises.”
Hawks let out a long suffering sigh, but he smiled anyway. “You’re the worst.”
he took off into the sky, leaving you alone with nothing but the fading sound of flapping wings and the lingering warmth of his touch. He had been gone for a while now, but you could still hear his voice in your head.
“Just don’t make me worry, okay?”
You sighed, resting your elbows on the ledge, staring out at the skyline.
“You’re brooding.”
You didn’t flinch at the voice, just smirked to yourself. “Didn’t know you were still lurking.”
Dabi strolled up beside you, hands shoved into his pockets, the faint smell of smoke and ash clinging to him. “Didn’t know you’d still be here,” he shot back, mimicking your tone. His voice was that usual mix of amusement and disinterest, but the fact that he hadn’t just left after Hawks showed up said enough.
You exhaled through your nose. “Guess we both like rooftops.”
Dabi snorted. “Guess so.”
Dabi watched you for a moment, his smirk still in place but his expression a little softer now. He leaned in slightly, closing that small space between your shoulders just enough to make it noticeable.
Finally, he spoke. “So. You and Bird Brain, huh?”
You rolled your eyes. “If one more person says that”
Dabi smirked, exhaling a slow curl of smoke. “Relax, Y/n or should I say Lumine since we’re supposed to be enemies,” he drawled, stretching out your name like it was a tease. “Just saying, he sure seemed invested in whatever this is.”
You scoffed. “He’s nosy.”
Dabi chuckled. “Oh, I know that. But he’s also jealous.”
You turned to him with a deadpan stare. “Really?”
He shrugged, smirk still in place. “Yeah. But I get it. I’d be jealous too if I had to watch someone else get all your time.”
That one caught you off guard. You blinked, momentarily at a loss for words. “Dabi”
He cut you off with a lazy wave of his hand. “Relaxxxx, I ain’t about to start writing love letters or anything. Just making an observation.”
You chuckled, shaking your head. “Right. Sure.”
He leaned in slightly, just enough that his shoulder did brush against yours this time. “I do have to give you credit, though. Takes guts to flirt with the guy who’s actively trying to arrest me.”
“Hey,” you defended, “he’s my friend”
Dabi snorted. “Yeah, yeah, I noticed.” He tapped his fingers against the ledge, then glanced at you. His smirk softened just slightly, like he was debating whether to say something. After a beat, he nudged you lightly with his elbow. “You know, if Bird Brain ever gets too annoying, I do have ways to make him shut up.”
You raised a brow. “By setting him on fire?”
“Exactly.”
You snickered, nudging him back. “Yeah, let’s not.”
He hummed in response, then tilted his head toward you, blue eyes glinting. “You sticking around, or what?” You considered it. Hawks would definitely have a few choice words for you if he found out you spent even more time with Dabi tonight. But, you weren’t in a rush to leave. For a villain he always felt like a hero to you.
You shrugged. “Guess I am.”
Dabi let out a mock sigh. “Tch. Guess I’ll allow it.”
You shot him a grin. “How generous.”
He rolled his eyes but didn’t move away. The city hummed below you, but up here, it was just the two of you, shoulders barely brushing, the night stretching on ahead.
𓇢𓆸☾☼ Let me be your wings
Keigo Takami X Reader
This is based on my isekai story, and since I’m having such a hard time writing the chapters (I didn’t plan…I just started writing), HAVE THIS FOR NOW! This might be used for the story later, but for now, it’s just to show how their dynamic will be.
𓇢𓆸☾☼ Hawks had been teasing you for years.
It wasn’t just the usual banter, oh no, he had perfected the art of getting under your skin in ways no one else could. The perfectly timed winks, the way he’d drawl out, “Aww, you miss me?” whenever you texted him for mission details, the relentless nicknames that ranged from “Featherweight” to “Speed Bump” (the latter because, as he put it, you were “always in his way but never slowing him down”). He lived for it.
The mission had been a success, but it left you winded. You stood on the rooftop of a high rise, still catching your breath, while Hawks looked as unbothered as ever, stretching his arms behind his head like he’d just woken up from a nap. His feathers rustled in the evening breeze, the city lights below casting an amber glow on his face.
“You good there, champ?” he asked, smirking as he tilted his head at you.
You shot him a glare, still breathing heavily. “I just ran five blocks at full speed chasing that guy while you took a scenic flight over the skyline.”
He grinned. “Perks of having wings. Maybe you should invest in a jetpack.”
“Maybe you should do more than just provide aerial commentary next time.”
“Ohhh, attitude. Someone’s feisty when they’re exhausted,” he teased. “Tell you what, I’ll carry you next time. if you ask nicely.”
You groaned, pushing your hair out of your face. “If you ever carry me, I’m taking a pair of scissors to your wings.”
“Ouch. That’s attempted murder, y’know.”
Before you could fire back, you caught a flash of something in his hand too quick to react in time.
Your stomach dropped. “Hawks… did you just—”
Hawks flipped his phone around, displaying the screen for you to see. There it was a perfectly timed, completely unflattering shot of you mid wheeze, hair sticking to your forehead, looking like you’d just been through hell and back.
“Oh, I absolutely did,” he confirmed, his golden eyes twinkling with mischief. “You know, for posterity. Gotta capture these special moments.”
Your jaw clenched. “Delete it.”
He locked his phone with a dramatic flick of his wrist and tucked it into his jacket. “Nah, I think I’ll keep it. Maybe I’ll use it as your contact photo.”
You took a threatening step forward, but he was already floating just out of reach, laughing.
“Keigo Takami, I swear—”
“Whoa, full name? I really hit a nerve, huh?” He shot you a wink before launching himself into the sky. “See you around, Speed Bump!”
You watched him disappear into the night, fists clenched. Of course working with him was always so fun but god does it make you want to scream. Hawks had just taken off, disappearing into the sky like the show off he was. You watched until he was just a dot in the distance, then sighed, shaking your head.
This whole thing was still weird. Being here, seeing all of them in real life talking, breathing, making stupid jokes at your expense. You had spent years watching them from the other side of a screen, and now you were smack in the middle of it. It was like stepping into a show you used to binge watch, except now the characters had opinions on your coffee order and occasionally stole your fries.
Your eyes drifted back to where Hawks had just been, and you huffed out a laugh. Keigo Takami. You still remembered the first time you saw him in the anime all smug grins, lazy charm, and way too cool for his own good. You also remembered groaning because, of course, he had to be attractive. And a blonde.
You sighed dramatically. “God, my type is so predictable.”
First, it had been fictional blondes. Now? Now it was very real, very smug blondes who took pictures of you at your worst and made everything look effortless. Some things never changed.
Shaking your head, you turned on your heel and headed toward the next rooftop. You had your own agency to get back to top ten heroes didn’t have time to stand around having existential crises about their anime crushes coming to life.
Still, as you leapt off the edge, you couldn’t help but mutter, “At least I have good taste.”
⋆⁺。˚⋆˙‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧˙⋆˚。⁺⋆
The sun dipped below the Musutafu skyline, casting streaks of gold and crimson across the sky. The city hummed beneath you and Hawks, the distant sounds of traffic and chatter blending into the cool evening breeze. Perched on the edge of a rooftop, the two of you were supposed to be on patrol, but the quiet lull of the city made it feel more like an excuse to loiter.
Hawks stretched his arms behind his head, wings twitching slightly as he scanned the streets below. “Man, it’s almost too peaceful tonight. I was hoping for at least one car chase to spice things up.”
You smirked, leaning back on your elbows. “You say that now, but the second some villain starts monologuing, you’re gonna be complaining.”
“Pfft, that’s fair.” He shot you a sideways glance, amber eyes glinting with mischief. “Though, I gotta say, spending an evening with you is its own kind of excitement.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t hide your grin. “Flattery won’t make me buy you dinner after this, bird boy.”
He gasped, placing a hand over his heart. “Getting chicken together would be such a good idea though, here I thought we had something special.”
“Oh, we do,” you said, pulling out your phone. “And I have just the thing to prove it.”
Without another word, you tapped the screen, and soft, whimsical music began to play. The opening notes of “Let Me Be Your Wings” from Thumbelina drifted into the air, delicate and romantic.
Hawks stiffened immediately.
His feathers ruffled as he slowly turned his head to you, an expression of pure, dawning horror washing over his face.
No. No way. He knew this song. Scratch that, he really knew this song.
It had been stuck in his head more times than he cared to admit. And, worse, he had definitely imagined you singing it to him at least once. Or twice. Maybe five times. But that was beside the point.
“Let me be your wings… let me be your only love~”
You grinned at him like the devil incarnate. “C’mon, Hawks. This is our song now.”
His eye twitched. “You’re not serious.”
“Oh, I’m deadly serious,” you said, placing a hand over your chest in mock sincerity. “It just fits you so perfectly. The majestic wings, the whole ‘sweeping people off their feet’ thing—”
“—I don’t sweep people off their feet—”
“—and of course, your deep, burning desire to be someone’s tiny fairy prince.”
Hawks groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “You suck.”
“is this you asking?” you teased, raising the volume. “Let me take you far beyond the stars~”
His wings twitched violently. He was sweating. You can’t let them know you’ve actually thought about this, Keigo. Play it cool. Play it—
“I hate that I know every lyric to this song.” The words slipped out before he could stop them.
Your jaw dropped, eyes widening with glee. “Oh my god.”
“Forget I said that.”
“You’ve thought about this, haven’t you?” You leaned in, voice full of mock realization. “You’ve imagined yourself singing this to someone.”
“No, I haven’t.”
“You so have.”
“I haven’t.”
You gasped theatrically. “Wait… have you imagined someone specifically?”
Hawks shot up so fast he nearly lost his footing on the ledge. “ALRIGHT, THAT’S ENOUGH OUT OF YOU.”
Before you could react, he grabbed the back of your collar and launched into the sky.
“WAIT—WAIT, KEIGO, I DIDN’T MEAN LITERALLY—!”
“TOO LATE, YOU’RE GETTING THE FULL THUMBELINA EXPERIENCE.”
The city blurred beneath you as he ascended, the wind whipping past as he effortlessly carried you into the night. You kicked your legs in protest, but his grip was firm, his wings beating steadily as he soared higher.
Below, your phone now abandoned on the rooftop continued playing the song, the tiny speaker projecting “We’ll see the universe and dance on Saturn’s rings~”
A civilian walking down the street paused, glancing up as your distant scream echoed overhead
“KEIGOOOOOO, PUT ME DOWNNNN—!”
As Hawks soared higher, you flailed in his grasp, wind whipping past as the city blurred below. “I WAS JUST TEASING YOU” you shouted.
“Oh, but you started this,” Hawks shot back, smirking down at you. “C’mon, you started this! You played our new song, and now I’m just giving you the full fantasy.”
“The fantasy doesn’t include me plummeting to my death, KEIGO!”
He gasped dramatically, placing a hand over his heart. “Plummeting? Please. You’re in the safest hands in Musutafu.” Then, without warning, he spun you midair.Your stomach flipped.
“KEIGO—!”
“Shhh, Thumbelina, just enjoy the moment,” he teased, effortlessly twirling you again like you weighed nothing. His golden eyes gleamed as he grinned. “Isn’t this romantic? The stars, the city lights, me your dashing, winged rescuer?”
“You’re so lucky I can’t hit you from this angle.”
Hawks only laughed, catching you with ease before adjusting his grip one arm under your legs, the other supporting your back.
“Oh wow, holding me like a bride?” you deadpanned. “Really committing to the bit, huh?”
He smirked, wings shifting as he hovered smoothly above the rooftops. “I’m just staying in character. Besides, Y/n or should I say Thumbelina, in this situation, it’s you. Small, feisty, getting swept off their feet by a very handsome flying man”
“I am not small—”
“—and tragically falling for his irresistible charm.”
You let out the longest, most exasperated sigh of your life. “I hate you.”
Hawks gasped. “You love me.”
Then he twirled you again, and this time, it was slow and dramatic, like he was dancing with you midair, like you really were some fairytale princess in his arms.
“I swear, Takami” you breathed out a little more gently.
“You’re adorable when you’re mad.”
You groaned. “I’m going to fight you when we land.”
“Aw, you wanna spend more time with me?” You smacked his shoulder, and he laughed, finally descending back toward the rooftop.
As soon as your feet hit the ground, you staggered, trying to shake off the dizziness. Hawks landed beside you, grinning like he hadn’t just been the most unbearable person alive.
“Whew, what a rush, huh?” He stretched, wings twitching. “I really think we captured the essence of the song.”
You glared. “You twirled me like a ballerina.”
“Yeah, well, you fit in my arms so nicely, what was I supposed to do?”
You inhaled sharply, pointing a warning finger at him. “If you don’t shut up, i’m telling your fans their favorite pro kidnaps people when he likes them”
Hawks gasped, “That’s so gross, you wouldn’t.”
You sighed dramatically, brushing the wind tangled hair out of your face. “Yeah, yeah. Now c’mon, bird boy, let’s get food before I report you for kidnapping.”
His feathers ruffled in amusement. “Dinner and a song?”
You side-eyed him as you picked up your phone. “Keep dreaming, fairy prince.”
“‘You know, you should make make ‘Let Me Be Your Wings’ your new ringtone for me.” he smiles from across you
You smirked. “I would.”
His eyes narrowed. “…Damn. That’s hot.”
You groaned and turned away. “I’m leaving.”
He fell into step beside you as you made your way back toward the edge of the building, still grinning like an idiot.
Blondes, man. They were gonna be the death of you.
I’ve been considering posting Chapter 2 elsewhere since, as a standalone, it wouldn’t make much sense. I might still post it here, but I need to finish a few things first.
To summarize, the next chapter focuses on you and your bond with your class—composed of characters I created solely for plot purposes. Then, young Mirio and Tamaki are introduced (neither of them are love interests). None of the original characters I made will be permanent; they exist only for this chapter. However, without that context, the chapter might not feel as strong.
I already have it drafted here, and I’d appreciate the support. But unless you’re committed to reading future chapters, it might feel a LITTLE out of place.
Keigo Takami / Hawks X Reader (eventually various X reader but that’s if I decide to continue with the burst of inspiration)
If this isn’t that meaty for you…. THEY JUST MET LET THEM COOK
Summary: Small light banter for a first meeting between freshly debuted Hawks and an Isekai’d reader.
Basically after reading copious amounts of amazingly talented stories by amazingly talented writers. “DEPOLLUTE ME, GENTLE ANGEL” by @fallen-w1ngs and Changing History by SummerBlack on Quotev. With “depollute me” the author humanizes the pro hero from being just a symbol. Meanwhile with “Changing History” the author introduces an emotion more attuned to feeling real and how life isn’t just a cycle that is predetermined. So my dynamic of choice was you as the reader have already been thrown in this world for the first 18 years of your life. If you were put in this world why not do the expected? Become a hero. But if all things are fake why take anything seriously?
If you couldn’t gather from that, the reader and hawks will grow and learn that they have the ability to matter and deserve to feel like they belong. I don’t have a very serious style of writing but I do try! Maybe not my best but key emphasis on try! Today we delve into YOU! YOUR CHARACTER!
This was all made on my notes app while on vacation 😺
Word count: 4280 ish, (idk through editing I added some things)
A blur of red and gold emerged first, feathers catching the sunlight just before their owner stepped forward with an easy, lopsided grin. Hawks, the newly minted Pro, looked entirely unbothered by the attention, despite the sudden chorus of excited shouts.
“Hawks! Can you sign this?”
“Dude, your debut fight was insane!”
“Picture, please?”
He laughed, ruffling his windswept hair as he glanced over the eager faces.
“Man, you guys really know how to make a guy feel welcome,” he said, grabbing the nearest pen. “Alright, line up nice and neat, yeah? I’ve got places to be, but I can’t just leave my awesome fans hanging.”
As he signed posters, notebooks, and even the occasional wing-shaped keychain, Hawks kept that signature smirk in place. He’d always known he’d make it this far—but seeing the real, tangible proof of it in the form of starstruck faces and excited voices?
Yeah, this was pretty damn cool.
As the crowd died down, Originally just going to walk away you thought about when would even be the next time you’d see him. Unfortunately since being thrown into this world, the whole concept of canon magnets for main characters was not even a concept in your life.
“You know, if you’re acting like this right out of the gate, I can’t even imagine how inflated your ego will get once you’re officially ranked among the top heroes.”
“Sorry, sweetheart, but I have no idea where you’re getting that impression.” You almost felt bad for taking away his moment. The disheveled blonde looked like he might’ve been having a sincere, heartfelt moment.
“It’s always the pretty boys with the massive egos,” you sighed dramatically, looking away. Seeing Hawks in all his glory had to come with a little entertainment, right?
He took a step back, eyeing your UA uniform as if sizing you up.
“Maybe the hostility’s coming from jealousy?”
“It’s the Icarus trope for me” you mutter
“Sorry?”
You laughed lightly, rolling your eyes. “Oh nothing! You sure would think that.”
To be honest, you hadn’t meant to bump into him. You were just on your way home from school, with nothing more in mind than a nice nap. Being a third-year at UA in the most boring era of this universe really didn’t leave you with much to look forward to.
“I mean, looks like we’re heading in the same direction,” he said, curiosity creeping into his tone as he took another sip from his drink.
“You’re not wrong, but the flashy vibe you’re giving off? It’s almost alarming.”
He gave you a distraught look.
“Imagine this, I’m getting saved by—wait, what’s your name again?” Oh, it wouldn’t be impossible for actually knowing him. Sure, he had only debuted a few months ago and the crowd that just left that chanted his name every two seconds would be a sign for his name, but you couldn’t help it. In your past life, the sheer amount of content of the show you consumed meant you had to know him but better safe than sorry.
“Hawks,” he replied, deadpan, amusement flickering in his eyes.
You couldn’t help but chuckle. In response he raised his brow
It probably looked like you were laughing at him, which, in a way, you kind of were. You remembered the draft photos of when his character was first being developed—back when they considered giving him an actual hawk head. The thought alone made you smile.
“Pro hero Hawks saves me, and the sheer massiveness of his ego completely blindsides me. I’m struck by how conventionally hot he is, and then I die in your arms. Yeah, not a good look for you.”
You sighed inwardly. All in all, you were probably born in the worst generation in the My Hero universe. You couldn’t even be part of the middle generation where you could’ve had the chance to work as a teacher with Aizawa and the rest of the crew. It was a possibility, sure, but it felt so far out of reach. And the idea of being around Present Mic—preferably with his hair down and you age-appropriate for him? That would’ve been a dream.
But here you were, a few years older than the main cast. Actually, you were the same age as Keigo. As much as you loved his character, he didn’t really become important until the fifth season. Which meant you had little to no relevance to the plot or any of the major characters. You couldn’t help but feel like you were stuck in some lame generation, unable to make an impact.
Why couldn’t any isekai story go right? You really felt like you’d lost the genetic lottery over and over again. You couldn’t have been born just a few years younger, so you could’ve at least had the chance to be around your other favorite sunshine-blonde character, Mirio. Not being his age had probably made you feel like you’d lost years of your life unknowingly.
“Maamaa, we just met, and you’ve already got a grudge against me?” He teased, giving you a playful frown.
Immediately it springs in your head that you’ve probably come off as a total asshole. Screw the curse of having an outside point of view. The fact of knowing none of this was real maybe gave a bad look on the outside.
You suddenly felt a wave of regret hit you, realizing how your words had come across. His playful tone, the teasing frown—everything made it clear he wasn’t offended, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that you had crossed a line. You opened your mouth, but your thoughts were tangled, and it took a moment to collect your words.
“Ah, look, I—” You hesitated, eyes darting away, feeling heat rising in your cheeks. “I didn’t mean to sound like that. It’s just… I don’t know, sometimes I get carried away, and—” You mentally cursed yourself for being so awkward. You hated how easily you could go from sarcastic to genuinely sorry in a second.
Hawks gave you an odd look, the smirk still there, though softer. “Hey, no worries. I get it.” He shrugged, as if it wasn’t a big deal, but you could tell something about his tone had changed slightly. Maybe he was trying to lighten the mood too, like you were.
“No, I’m serious,” you quickly added, glancing up at him, feeling the need to apologize properly. “It’s just… I don’t know. I’ve been here long enough to see how people get caught up in all the… hero stuff. And I didn’t want to be another person acting all starry-eyed over you just because you’re a pro hero, you know?” God you sounded pathetic. Maybe if you prayed to all might really hard it would go away.
Hawks studied you for a second, then nodded slowly, his expression unreadable for a moment. “I get it. You don’t want to be one of those people who just worship the ground we fly on, huh?”
You sighed, relieved that he understood, but still uneasy. “Yeah... fly on. It’s just… this world, this universe… It’s all so… strange. I mean, I know you’re a big deal, and I respect that. But sometimes it’s hard to take things seriously when everything feels like it’s set in stone. To be so ‘MUCH’ all the time. Anyways I’m literally doing exactly what yours doing for a career so don’t take my words to heart. Heroes are kind of just people that help people and I’m like one or those people and by no means-” You paused, biting your lip.
There was an odd moment of silence before Hawks chuckled, and for a moment, you thought you might’ve said something ridiculous.
“You’re fine.” His tone was soft, genuine this time, as he took another step back, giving you space. “You’re not the first person to think I’m all ‘ego and feathers,’ but not everyone’s as honest about it as you are. So, props for that, I guess.” He tilted his head, his usual cocky grin returning, though it seemed more self-aware now. “But hey, if it helps, I do my best to keep my ego in check. It’s not as big as it looks.”
You blinked, unsure how to respond, but the words that came out were almost reflexive. “Well, you’re doing a pretty good job of hiding it, I guess. You’re going to be one of the top ten. I know it.”
Hawks laughed softly, the sound surprisingly genuine, and you found yourself relaxing a little. Maybe you hadn’t totally messed everything up. “You’re so sure about that? Well then fair enough. Just don’t expect me to give up my flashy style anytime soon. It’s a package deal.” He says that as if he doesn’t get In the top ten within a few months.
You could tell he wasn’t taking offense anymore, but you still felt like you needed to clear the air. “I mean, you’re doing your thing. I just—” You faltered, trying to find the right words, feeling like you were digging yourself into a hole. “I just didn’t want to be some random person making snide comments. You’re a pro hero, and I respect that.”
His eyes softened again, and there was an odd sincerity in his gaze. “Thanks. That means more than you know. You look about the same age as me so as you’re a pro as well, wouldn’t you know it you’ll be up there at the top, maybe we’ll have a hero rivalry” he smirks
“Ah yes the trials and tribulations of endeavour and all might persist in the bodies of 18 year old aspiring heroes” you pause for a moment thinking about it. You know that’s not too far from the original source material
“Well I’m not exactly a pro just yet, give me a few months and I’ll be there”
For a moment, neither of you spoke, the awkwardness between you two slowly evaporating. It was strange, how you’d gone from a sarcastic comment to a brief but genuine moment of understanding. And yet, in a world where everything seemed so scripted, the fact that this had played out in such a way felt a little… surreal.
After a beat, Hawks stretched, giving you a wink. “Well, I should probably get going. Hero stuff, you know?” He shrugged, turning on his heel. “But hey, if you ever need a hand or just wanna throw some more sarcastic remarks my way, I’m not hard to find.”
You managed a small, half-smile. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
He flashed you one last grin before taking off, his wings spreading wide as he took to the sky, disappearing into the distance. You watched him go, still feeling that odd mixture of guilt and amusement bubbling in your chest.
Shaking your head, you turned and continued on your way home, feeling slightly lighter, despite the awkwardness. At least you hadn’t ruined everything completely. But, then again, in a world like this, there was always something new to look forward to. Maybe you’d even see Hawks again and maybe next time, you’d be a little better at handling it.
Or, you’d at least try to be.
In this world, reports of people with superpowers started popping up everywhere. No one really knew what was causing these Quirks. And before long, the supernatural became the new normal. Dreams became reality, and the world turned into a superhuman society, with 80% of the population possessing some sort of strange ability.
Blah, blah, blah. The world might sound impressive at first, but being dropped into a world where you know everyone’s futures? That kind of ruins the excitement. Save the fun stuff for when Izuku is supposed to take over
You’d think living in a world of superheroes would be a dream come true, but it felt more like playing a life simulator with a DLC attached.
‘Actually if any one had heard that thought, please smite me dead on the spot’
Maybe when you finally met Shigaraki, you two could bond over how lame your lives were.
————
The moment Hawks took off, disappearing into the sky with all the grace and flair of a man who knew exactly how cool he was, you were left standing there, alone in the middle of a busy street. You blinked a few times, processing the bizarre encounter, like a glitch in the matrix where you’d just met one of the to be top heroes, and somehow managed to be the awkward, sarcastic mess you were known for.
Oh god, you thought, did I just make myself look like an idiot?
The awkwardness of the moment hit you all at once, like a ton of bricks. Your brain replayed every word you’d said, every overly dramatic sigh, and every time you’d made some weird comment about his ego. I probably just ruined any chance of ever having a normal conversation with him ever again, you thought with a groan.
But, hey, at least you’d gotten one thing right: you had no idea how to not embarrass yourself in front of a pro hero. Progress, right?
Your feet shuffled along the sidewalk, your eyes fixed on the ground, just in case anyone noticed how ridiculously flustered you were. You didn’t even know where you were going at this point, your legs had basically decided to take you home, but your brain was still stuck on the fact that you’d just made a snide remark to one of the most famous people in the world. That was bound to come back to haunt you, right?
In the midst of your spiraling, a thought hit you like a slap to the face: What if he tells people?
No, no, no, no. Hawks wasn’t the type to hold grudges. He’d probably just chuckle about it with his equally cool friends and forget about it. Right?
… what if he tells Mirko. All you feel is dread
But still, the mental image of him, sitting around with his hero buddies, casually telling them about the weird girl who got all awkward and snarky when she met him, was enough to make you want to curl up in a hole and disappear for the next decade. I’m never leaving my house again, you thought, hands buried in your pockets. It’s safer this way.
As you trudged home, you passed by the same old buildings, the same street vendors, the same couple having a heated debate about the proper way to cook curry (which, honestly, you were kind of invested in now). It was the same old world. But now, you couldn’t help but feel like you were living in some kind of sitcom where you were the awkward side character. This is what I get for getting tossed into this universe, you thought, rolling your eyes at the universe itself. And why am I still here? Shouldn’t I be a sidekick by now?
You eventually reached your apartment building, doing your best to ignore the fact that you’d just been face-to-face with Hawks and didn’t manage to do anything remotely cool or competent. The elevator ride felt longer than it should’ve. It was like the universe itself was giving you a moment to reflect on your life choices. By the time you reached your door, you felt like you needed to apologize to the doorframe for even existing.
With a dramatic sigh, you kicked off your shoes and collapsed onto the couch. You stared at the ceiling, wondering if you should’ve just said something normal like, “Hey, cool wings.” That’s it. Cool wings… nope absolutely not, move on, but no, you had to act like a nervous wreck who couldn’t even handle basic social interaction. Congratulations, you’re a disaster.
But as your mind started spiraling into self-loathing, you couldn’t help but chuckle a little. The whole situation had been so ridiculous, so out of place, that it was actually kind of funny. You’d just had a conversation with Hawks granted, it was a weird, awkward, almost cringeworthy conversation but still, a conversation! That was more than most people could say.
“Maybe I should just call it a day. Hide under the covers and pretend nothing happened.”
You threw your arms dramatically across your face as if the weight of your shame was too much to bear, but in the back of your mind, a tiny thought crept in: Hey, if I run into him again, maybe I won’t make a fool of myself next time.
Then again, you thought with a grin, Probably not.
At least tomorrow’s a new day, right? You could try to be normal then probably. Or at the very least, you could give yourself a good pep talk, like, “You got this, champ. Try not to make an idiot of yourself this time.”
As you lay there, wallowing in your embarrassment, you couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. Because, in the end, this was just another bizarre chapter in your weird, barely-coherent life in the world of heroes. Maybe next time, you’d at least try to make a good first impression. Or maybe, just maybe, you’d accidentally land on your feet and make it out of another embarrassing moment unscathed.
Who knew? Anything was possible in this crazy universe. Well, except you being smooth. That was clearly out of the question.
————
The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and as your classmates hurriedly packed their bags and ran out the door, you sat there, contemplating your life choices. Graduation was right around the corner, and while everyone else was excited about the future, you were just kind of… existing.
You were in your third year at UA, the very school that trained the next generation of Pro Heroes. But here you were, staring at your desk like it owed you money, with no idea what you were supposed to do next.
Let’s be real, everyone else had a purpose. Izuku? He was going to be the greatest hero of all time. All Might? He was the symbol of peace, the beacon of hope, and probably the only guy who could do a cartwheel and not look like a dad on a trampoline. Even Bakugo had a clear goal in mind: to be the best, which, considering his attitude, was more like a “do it or I’ll yell at you until you cry” kind of vibe.
But you? You were just here. You weren’t supposed to be in this world. Seriously, how did you even get here? One minute you were living your normal life, and the next you’re dropped into the middle of a world full of heroes, quirks, and crazy villains, but there’s no manual for how to fit in. It was like being cast in the world’s weirdest TV show and being told, “Yeah, just figure it out, you’ll be fine.”
And you were so fine. So fine, in fact, that you didn’t even know what the point of it all was. You had no grand dreams of becoming the next All Might or Deku. You weren’t even sure what your quirk was half the time, maybe you had an ability to be totally average? If so, congratulations, you were really nailing it.
“Look, you’re fine, you’re fine,” you muttered to yourself, giving the window a dramatic look. “You’ll graduate, become a hero, maybe stand by the snacks table at hero events, get a cool costume, the usual.”
You sighed, staring at the city below. Your classmates had their lives all planned out, while you had absolutely no clue what was happening. “Like, how do you even become a hero if you’re not, like, destined for greatness?” You asked, though you were fully aware the universe wasn’t going to answer. Or if it did, it would probably just laugh and say, “Sorry, you’re just here for filler content.”
You turned to the empty classroom, contemplating your entire existence for a moment. “Man, is this what it’s like to be a side character? ’Cause I really didn’t sign up for this. I was just trying to live my best life, and suddenly I’m here, trying to figure out if I should be saving kittens from trees or passing out flyers for charity events.”
A laugh bubbled out of you. “Who knows, maybe I’ll be that hero, the one who’s really good at handing out pamphlets at superhero conventions. You know, hero stuff. The job that’s always available but no one really talks about.”
You let out a half-hearted groan. “Ugh, I’m like a glorified intern in the superhero world. ‘Oh, sorry, your quirk is literally just being chill? Guess you’ll be a sidekick to the sidekicks!’”
But then it hit you: maybe that’s fine. Not every hero needs to be the big shot. Maybe your purpose was to just… exist. No huge fanfare, no dramatic showdowns with villains, just a random person who shows up at the right time to, like, hand out snacks or prevent a minor inconvenience. You could totally be that person! There’s a whole squad of heroes out there who are doing important stuff without anyone caring about them.
You snapped your fingers. “Wait a minute. Maybe this is my calling! I’ll be ‘The Human Buffer’. I’ll help all the heroes hand out protein bars, hold their coats while they go into battle, be that one person who’s just there to make sure they look good in their hero pose. Yeah, I could be that hero!”
You stood up, grabbed your bag, and strutted out of the classroom with newfound confidence. You might not have a big, world-saving destiny, but you would be the hero who was always there with the perfect snack after a long day of saving people. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was a role that needed to be filled, and by golly, you were going to do it.
“Alright, world,” you said dramatically as you walked down the hallway. “You don’t need me to save the day, but I’ll be here when you need someone to tell you where the bathroom is during a fight. Hero work!”
As you passed your classmates, all talking about their big future plans, you couldn’t help but laugh. Maybe you weren’t meant to be the hero everyone else was, but you were still going to make your mark. Whether they needed an emotional support snack or someone to bring them a towel after they worked up a sweat, you’d be there.
And hey, you’d probably get a cool title too: The Most Average, Most Helpful Hero.
It wasn’t that you didn’t like the idea of being a hero. Who wouldn’t want to swoop in and save the day, right? But the thing was, you didn’t belong here. You didn’t have that spark that made someone destined to be a hero. You weren’t meant to exist in this world. You were more like an accidental extra, someone who wasn’t supposed to show up on the hero timeline but somehow did. And now you were just… waiting for your scene to end.
It wasn’t that you didn’t respect heroes, of course, you did! But watching everyone around you with their grand dreams and bright futures made you feel a bit like the odd one out. Even if you’re living in a year with just side characters. They had their roles, their destinies. Meanwhile, you were stuck in a universe where things were already set in stone. It was like showing up to a concert that was already halfway over and realizing you’re just gonna have to sit in the nosebleeds for the rest of the show.
Keigo had mentioned once that it was important for heroes to ease the worries of the people. Isn’t it paradoxical that his future words are the ones giving you a path. That they had to be more than just strong, they had to make people feel safe. And you’d never had any doubts about that philosophy. But how could you be that person when you didn’t even feel like you were supposed to be here in the first place? It felt like playing a game you didn’t know the rules to, in a world that wasn’t yours.
Sure, you were about to graduate from UA and technically become a Pro Hero, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that you were sort of stepping into a role that didn’t really have anything to do with you. You had no grand dreams of fighting side-by-side with All Might in his final battle. There were so any many risks and what if a simple butterfly effect made the villains win by you being here. Honestly, you’d probably end up being the hero who handed out flyers for charity events or stood at the front of the line for photos to be safe. Was that the kind of hero you wanted to be?
“Well, I guess I’ll be a hero of some kind,” you muttered, though it was more out of obligation than excitement. “But what does it even mean if I don’t have some grand purpose in all this?”
A little chuckle escaped your lips. This was ridiculous. Here you were, stressing over your place in a world that was literally made up. You were a character in a story that already had its plot laid out, and yet you were still acting like you had to be a main character. It was all just so absurd.
But you didn’t want to be that person someone who just complained about fate and waited for something to happen. You could still make a difference in small ways, right? Maybe not as the next All Might or Deku, but as someone who showed up when it mattered, who helped out in their own way. The world was full of side characters doing small but important things, why couldn’t you be one of them?
With a grin, you stood up and grabbed your bag, heading out of the classroom to join the rest of your classmates. Maybe you weren’t the protagonist of this story, but hey, you could still make your mark on it. A little self-awareness never hurt anyone, right? Besides, in a world full of heroes, sometimes it was enough just to be one even if you were doing it a little differently than everyone else.
Keigo Takami / Hawks X Reader (eventually various X reader but that’s if I decide to continue with the burst of inspiration)
If this isn’t that meaty for you…. THEY JUST MET LET THEM COOK
Summary: Small light banter for a first meeting between freshly debuted Hawks and an Isekai’d reader.
Basically after reading copious amounts of amazingly talented stories by amazingly talented writers. “DEPOLLUTE ME, GENTLE ANGEL” by @fallen-w1ngs and Changing History by SummerBlack on Quotev. With “depollute me” the author humanizes the pro hero from being just a symbol. Meanwhile with “Changing History” the author introduces an emotion more attuned to feeling real and how life isn’t just a cycle that is predetermined. So my dynamic of choice was you as the reader have already been thrown in this world for the first 18 years of your life. If you were put in this world why not do the expected? Become a hero. But if all things are fake why take anything seriously?
If you couldn’t gather from that, the reader and hawks will grow and learn that they have the ability to matter and deserve to feel like they belong. I don’t have a very serious style of writing but I do try! Maybe not my best but key emphasis on try! Today we delve into YOU! YOUR CHARACTER!
This was all made on my notes app while on vacation 😺
Word count: 4280 ish, (idk through editing I added some things)
A blur of red and gold emerged first, feathers catching the sunlight just before their owner stepped forward with an easy, lopsided grin. Hawks, the newly minted Pro, looked entirely unbothered by the attention, despite the sudden chorus of excited shouts.
“Hawks! Can you sign this?”
“Dude, your debut fight was insane!”
“Picture, please?”
He laughed, ruffling his windswept hair as he glanced over the eager faces.
Just don’t expect me to give up my flashy style anytime soon. It’s a package deal.” He says that as if he doesn’t get In the top ten within a few months.
You could tell he wasn’t taking offense anymore, but you still felt like you needed to clear the air. “I mean, you’re doing your thing. I just—” You faltered, trying to find the right words, feeling like you were digging yourself into a hole. “I just didn’t want to be some random person making snide comments. You’re a pro hero, and I respect that.”
His eyes softened again, and there was an odd sincerity in his gaze. “Thanks. That means more than you know. You look about the same age as me so as you’re a pro as well, wouldn’t you know it you’ll be up there at the top, maybe we’ll have a hero rivalry” he smirks
“Ah yes the trials and tribulations of endeavour and all might persist in the bodies of 18 year old aspiring heroes” you pause for a moment thinking about it. You know that’s not too far from the original source material
“Well I’m not exactly a pro just yet, give me a few months and I’ll be there”
For a moment, neither of you spoke, the awkwardness between you two slowly evaporating. It was strange, how you’d gone from a sarcastic comment to a brief but genuine moment of understanding. And yet, in a world where everything seemed so scripted, the fact that this had played out in such a way felt a little… surreal.
After a beat, Hawks stretched, giving you a wink. “Well, I should probably get going. Hero stuff, you know?” He shrugged, turning on his heel. “But hey, if you ever need a hand or just wanna throw some more sarcastic remarks my way, I’m not hard to find.”
You managed a small, half-smile. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
He flashed you one last grin before taking off, his wings spreading wide as he took to the sky, disappearing into the distance. You watched him go, still feeling that odd mixture of guilt and amusement bubbling in your chest.
Shaking your head, you turned and continued on your way home, feeling slightly lighter, despite the awkwardness. At least you hadn’t ruined everything completely. But, then again, in a world like this, there was always something new to look forward to. Maybe you’d even see Hawks again and maybe next time, you’d be a little better at handling it.
Or, you’d at least try to be.
In this world, reports of people with superpowers started popping up everywhere. No one really knew what was causing these Quirks. And before long, the supernatural became the new normal. Dreams became reality, and the world turned into a superhuman society, with 80% of the population possessing some sort of strange ability.
Blah, blah, blah. The world might sound impressive at first, but being dropped into a world where you know everyone’s futures? That kind of ruins the excitement. Save the fun stuff for when Izuku is supposed to take over
You’d think living in a world of superheroes would be a dream come true, but it felt more like playing a life simulator with a DLC attached.
‘Actually if any one had heard that thought, please smite me dead on the spot’
Maybe when you finally met Shigaraki, you two could bond over how lame your lives were.
The moment Hawks took off, disappearing into the sky with all the grace and flair of a man who knew exactly how cool he was, you were left standing there, alone in the middle of a busy street. You blinked a few times, processing the bizarre encounter, like a glitch in the matrix where you’d just met one of the to be top heroes, and somehow managed to be the awkward, sarcastic mess you were known for.
Oh god, you thought, did I just make myself look like an idiot?
The awkwardness of the moment hit you all at once, like a ton of bricks. Your brain replayed every word you’d said, every overly dramatic sigh, and every time you’d made some weird comment about his ego. I probably just ruined any chance of ever having a normal conversation with him ever again, you thought with a groan.
But, hey, at least you’d gotten one thing right: you had no idea how to not embarrass yourself in front of a pro hero. Progress, right?
Your feet shuffled along the sidewalk, your eyes fixed on the ground, just in case anyone noticed how ridiculously flustered you were. You didn’t even know where you were going at this point, your legs had basically decided to take you home, but your brain was still stuck on the fact that you’d just made a snide remark to one of the most famous people in the world. That was bound to come back to haunt you, right?
In the midst of your spiraling, a thought hit you like a slap to the face: What if he tells people?
No, no, no, no. Hawks wasn’t the type to hold grudges. He’d probably just chuckle about it with his equally cool friends and forget about it. Right?
… what if he tells Mirko. All you feel is dread
But still, the mental image of him, sitting around with his hero buddies, casually telling them about the weird girl who got all awkward and snarky when she met him, was enough to make you want to curl up in a hole and disappear for the next decade. I’m never leaving my house again, you thought, hands buried in your pockets. It’s safer this way.
As you trudged home, you passed by the same old buildings, the same street vendors, the same couple having a heated debate about the proper way to cook curry (which, honestly, you were kind of invested in now). It was the same old world. But now, you couldn’t help but feel like you were living in some kind of sitcom where you were the awkward side character. This is what I get for getting tossed into this universe, you thought, rolling your eyes at the universe itself. And why am I still here? Shouldn’t I be a sidekick by now?
You eventually reached your apartment building, doing your best to ignore the fact that you’d just been face-to-face with Hawks and didn’t manage to do anything remotely cool or competent. The elevator ride felt longer than it should’ve. It was like the universe itself was giving you a moment to reflect on your life choices. By the time you reached your door, you felt like you needed to apologize to the doorframe for even existing.
With a dramatic sigh, you kicked off your shoes and collapsed onto the couch. You stared at the ceiling, wondering if you should’ve just said something normal like, “Hey, cool wings.” That’s it. Cool wings… nope absolutely not, move on, but no, you had to act like a nervous wreck who couldn’t even handle basic social interaction. Congratulations, you’re a disaster.
But as your mind started spiraling into self-loathing, you couldn’t help but chuckle a little. The whole situation had been so ridiculous, so out of place, that it was actually kind of funny. You’d just had a conversation with Hawks granted, it was a weird, awkward, almost cringeworthy conversation but still, a conversation! That was more than most people could say.
“Maybe I should just call it a day. Hide under the covers and pretend nothing happened.”
You threw your arms dramatically across your face as if the weight of your shame was too much to bear, but in the back of your mind, a tiny thought crept in: Hey, if I run into him again, maybe I won’t make a fool of myself next time.
Then again, you thought with a grin, Probably not.
At least tomorrow’s a new day, right? You could try to be normal then probably. Or at the very least, you could give yourself a good pep talk, like, “You got this, champ. Try not to make an idiot of yourself this time.”
As you lay there, wallowing in your embarrassment, you couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. Because, in the end, this was just another bizarre chapter in your weird, barely-coherent life in the world of heroes. Maybe next time, you’d at least try to make a good first impression. Or maybe, just maybe, you’d accidentally land on your feet and make it out of another embarrassing moment unscathed.
Who knew? Anything was possible in this crazy universe. Well, except you being smooth. That was clearly out of the question.
The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and as your classmates hurriedly packed their bags and ran out the door, you sat there, contemplating your life choices. Graduation was right around the corner, and while everyone else was excited about the future, you were just kind of… existing.
You were in your third year at UA, the very school that trained the next generation of Pro Heroes. But here you were, staring at your desk like it owed you money, with no idea what you were supposed to do next.
Let’s be real, everyone else had a purpose. Izuku? He was going to be the greatest hero of all time. All Might? He was the symbol of peace, the beacon of hope, and probably the only guy who could do a cartwheel and not look like a dad on a trampoline. Even Bakugo had a clear goal in mind: to be the best, which, considering his attitude, was more like a “do it or I’ll yell at you until you cry” kind of vibe.
But you? You were just here. You weren’t supposed to be in this world. Seriously, how did you even get here? One minute you were living your normal life, and the next you’re dropped into the middle of a world full of heroes, quirks, and crazy villains, but there’s no manual for how to fit in. It was like being cast in the world’s weirdest TV show and being told, “Yeah, just figure it out, you’ll be fine.”
And you were so fine. So fine, in fact, that you didn’t even know what the point of it all was. You had no grand dreams of becoming the next All Might or Deku. You weren’t even sure what your quirk was half the time, maybe you had an ability to be totally average? If so, congratulations, you were really nailing it.
“Look, you’re fine, you’re fine,” you muttered to yourself, giving the window a dramatic look. “You’ll graduate, become a hero, maybe stand by the snacks table at hero events, get a cool costume, the usual.”
You sighed, staring at the city below. Your classmates had their lives all planned out, while you had absolutely no clue what was happening. “Like, how do you even become a hero if you’re not, like, destined for greatness?” You asked, though you were fully aware the universe wasn’t going to answer. Or if it did, it would probably just laugh and say, “Sorry, you’re just here for filler content.”
You turned to the empty classroom, contemplating your entire existence for a moment. “Man, is this what it’s like to be a side character? ’Cause I really didn’t sign up for this. I was just trying to live my best life, and suddenly I’m here, trying to figure out if I should be saving kittens from trees or passing out flyers for charity events.”
A laugh bubbled out of you. “Who knows, maybe I’ll be that hero, the one who’s really good at handing out pamphlets at superhero conventions. You know, hero stuff. The job that’s always available but no one really talks about.”
You let out a half-hearted groan. “Ugh, I’m like a glorified intern in the superhero world. ‘Oh, sorry, your quirk is literally just being chill? Guess you’ll be a sidekick to the sidekicks!’”
But then it hit you: maybe that’s fine. Not every hero needs to be the big shot. Maybe your purpose was to just… exist. No huge fanfare, no dramatic showdowns with villains, just a random person who shows up at the right time to, like, hand out snacks or prevent a minor inconvenience. You could totally be that person! There’s a whole squad of heroes out there who are doing important stuff without anyone caring about them.
You snapped your fingers. “Wait a minute. Maybe this is my calling! I’ll be ‘The Human Buffer’. I’ll help all the heroes hand out protein bars, hold their coats while they go into battle, be that one person who’s just there to make sure they look good in their hero pose. Yeah, I could be that hero!”
You stood up, grabbed your bag, and strutted out of the classroom with newfound confidence. You might not have a big, world-saving destiny, but you would be the hero who was always there with the perfect snack after a long day of saving people. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was a role that needed to be filled, and by golly, you were going to do it.
“Alright, world,” you said dramatically as you walked down the hallway. “You don’t need me to save the day, but I’ll be here when you need someone to tell you where the bathroom is during a fight. Hero work!”
As you passed your classmates, all talking about their big future plans, you couldn’t help but laugh. Maybe you weren’t meant to be the hero everyone else was, but you were still going to make your mark. Whether they needed an emotional support snack or someone to bring them a towel after they worked up a sweat, you’d be there.
And hey, you’d probably get a cool title too: The Most Average, Most Helpful Hero.
It wasn’t that you didn’t like the idea of being a hero. Who wouldn’t want to swoop in and save the day, right? But the thing was, you didn’t belong here. You didn’t have that spark that made someone destined to be a hero. You weren’t meant to exist in this world. You were more like an accidental extra, someone who wasn’t supposed to show up on the hero timeline but somehow did. And now you were just… waiting for your scene to end.
It wasn’t that you didn’t respect heroes, of course, you did! But watching everyone around you with their grand dreams and bright futures made you feel a bit like the odd one out. Even if you’re living in a year with just side characters. They had their roles, their destinies. Meanwhile, you were stuck in a universe where things were already set in stone. It was like showing up to a concert that was already halfway over and realizing you’re just gonna have to sit in the nosebleeds for the rest of the show.
Keigo had mentioned once that it was important for heroes to ease the worries of the people. Isn’t it paradoxical that his future words are the ones giving you a path. That they had to be more than just strong, they had to make people feel safe. And you’d never had any doubts about that philosophy. But how could you be that person when you didn’t even feel like you were supposed to be here in the first place? It felt like playing a game you didn’t know the rules to, in a world that wasn’t yours.
Sure, you were about to graduate from UA and technically become a Pro Hero, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that you were sort of stepping into a role that didn’t really have anything to do with you. You had no grand dreams of fighting side-by-side with All Might in his final battle. There were so any many risks and what if a simple butterfly effect made the villains win by you being here. Honestly, you’d probably end up being the hero who handed out flyers for charity events or stood at the front of the line for photos to be safe. Was that the kind of hero you wanted to be?
“Well, I guess I’ll be a hero of some kind,” you muttered, though it was more out of obligation than excitement. “But what does it even mean if I don’t have some grand purpose in all this?”
A little chuckle escaped your lips. This was ridiculous. Here you were, stressing over your place in a world that was literally made up. You were a character in a story that already had its plot laid out, and yet you were still acting like you had to be a main character. It was all just so absurd.
But you didn’t want to be that person someone who just complained about fate and waited for something to happen. You could still make a difference in small ways, right? Maybe not as the next All Might or Deku, but as someone who showed up when it mattered, who helped out in their own way. The world was full of side characters doing small but important things, why couldn’t you be one of them?
With a grin, you stood up and grabbed your bag, heading out of the classroom to join the rest of your classmates. Maybe you weren’t the protagonist of this story, but hey, you could still make your mark on it. A little self-awareness never hurt anyone, right? Besides, in a world full of heroes, sometimes it was enough just to be one even if you were doing it a little differently than everyone else.
