Or maybe everyone knows.

Everyone’s favorite mascot. Their shining star. A perfect symbol of their city. Of their sled races. Of their victories. An idol. An image.

But underground doesn’t know. Blink and Runt? They wouldn’t know. Why would they?

Troy’s not gonna say anything.

The people above won’t say anything, because honestly? Sometimes they forget. They don’t think about it. Don’t need to, because everyone knows anyways.

And Troy bleeds. Why would he not be human?

Except he’s not. Except it’s just safety measures. Lessening impact. Easy to see on snow if something goes wrong and easy to locate.

Bro, the fact that Blink could've died from the rocks is crazy. I haven't finished the episode yet, I have like half an hour left, but when I was watching that scene where Blink could've died, all I could think of was this: What would Aeon's reaction be to losing both of her childhood friends so suddenly?

I mean, she didn't even get to properly say goodbye to Blink and she heard what he said to her. What if she found him dead at Cogtopolis and realized that she never got to properly explain herself or say goodbye? Just like with Candle. Dude, I need fic writers to do their thing and write this because this show makes me ILL.

That moment when Runt from JRWI Wonderlust suddenly becomes way too relatable and it causes you to remember something that happened to you 7 or 8 years ago-

This was something that happened in 6th grade, which was obviously a long time ago for me now, but that scene with Runt yelling at WD for lying made me remember this moment that I had nearly forgotten about. Again, this happened a while ago, so bear with me because I may not remember all the details.

There was this boy I had been friends with since elementary school, his name was Nic. He was in my last two classes of the day in 6th grade, which were history and math. In my history class, he treated me like a friend, because I was his friend, and for some time in my math class, he treated me like a friend then too.

However, my math teacher switched up the seating arrangements and had me sit next to a girl, with Nic and another boy behind me. The girl and the boy didn't treat me very well. They were both bullies to me and would say horrible things about me whenever they got the chance. And Nic joined them. He was suddenly not my friend anymore, but also still was at the same time.

That shit hurt, especially since I hadn't done anything to anyone. The biggest thing that the girl and boy would tell me is that my breath smells or I smell in general. And that hurt, because no matter how hard I tried, it was never enough to get them to stop and I felt trapped. I don't remember if I ended up moving seats to get away from them or if I put up with it until the teacher changed the seating chart again.

It was genuinely the most confusing experience for me because outside of math class, Nic was still my childhood friend, until we stepped foot in math class. It was so frustrating and confusing and to this day, I still don't understand why he did that to me. I haven't spoken to him or seen him since high school, and I didn't really talk to him during high school either. But yeah.

God, middle school was such a shitty time for me.

Genuinely, I love getting my friends into my hyperfixations, it's so much fun. I got my friend Birdie into Epic The Musical today and she loved it! We even started planning a story we'll be writing together! I also got Luna into Riptide and Wonderlust and it's fun seeing her reactions to Riptide because I'm so much further ahead compared to her.

It makes me happy to see my friends enjoy things that I enjoy and it's just such a good feeling. I love making people happy so much, it's such a good feeling to be the reason someone smiles. Alright, gonna go back to binging, good night

Oh my fucking God, I was not expecting the new faction Runt and WD made to be called the Girl Scouts. As a former Girl Scout, that is the funniest shit ever, I love this show so fucking much.

So I have a random theory/idea about Troy Wonderlust that probably is not at all accurate but it’s been on my brain and I need to talk about it

So like. Troy being a clockwork guy. I’ve seen the theory everywhere. And I thought - what if the reason he looks so human is because he’s not fully clockwork? What if he’s part human?

Specifically: what if Tramilton Lougferd was a real human who died, perhaps in a steam-sledding accident or smth, idk how. But his father then used his clockwork technology to try to bring his son back to life as like a clockwork android.

Maybe the reason Troy and his father are having issues is because Troy is, well, not Tramilton. He’s not the same person brought back to life, he’s becoming his own person, forging his own identity. Choosing a different name and such.

So basically what if Troy’s dad is William Afton and tried to put his dead son back together but oops Troy came back wrong-

Wonderlust Episode 17 Spoilers Under Cut!!

So, I'm re-watching episode 10 and in the beginning, Troy uses the Lougferd Override command to get the Clockwork Soldier to listen to him. There are multiple levels, but it went up to Level 6, so we can assume that each level of the override does something different.

HOWEVER, what I want to know is why the Lougferd Override command didn't work against the Clockwork Soldiers at the University of Dreamers and Doers in episode 17. It hasn't been that long since episode 10 happened from a timeline perspective, so why does the command suddenly not work?

I doubt that his dad was able to change the command so quickly, especially since he, as the Mayor of Earheart, would probably keep the override command the same, for simplicity and so that both he and his son can use the command. It's just so confusing to me that the command suddenly doesn't work for Troy.

But then again, there was only one Clockwork Soldier that Troy took care of in episode 10, as opposed to the large group in episode 17. Maybe there's a different command for a group of soldiers that Troy didn't remember, which would explain why it didn't work.

I dunno, what do you guys think? Maybe I'm overanalyzing this a bit too much, but that's kinda what I do with this show (even though I'm behind on posting it hehe 😅). I have too much free time on my hands at the moment, so it could also be that. Or maybe I'm just a nerd, I don't fucking know.

Troy Lougferd (He/Him)

- His real name is Tramilton Lougferd

- Presumably captured by Aeon (Bizly said 'she' for the person who captured Troy), who forces him to stay with Blink

- How does Aeon know his real name?

- If he fails to stay with Blink, he can't go home

- Perhaps that's why he clings to Blink's side, out of fear of what will happen to him if he fails

- There are theories that he's clockwork, just like the soldiers

- He doesn't have a good relationship with his father

- Troy has committed war crimes??

- He has ulterior motives

- I feel like he knows more than he's letting on

- I don't trust him

- Dislikes snakes

- Charlie has mentioned that he will get worse as the campaign continues, but just how bad will he get?

- Dangerous and always seems to do reckless things that get other people hurt, including his teammates

- He doesn't care about the consequences of his actions (i.e., getting Runt, Blink, and Ripley banned from Oasis Flora)

- Did not hesitate to harass Lint after coming back just because he did something to become popular

- He's able to override the clockwork soldiers with a command

Runt (She/Her)

- She has cousins in the Street Rats, Doppler, and Pinch (he's the leader, I think)

- She lives with her Uncle Threestrings, and her grandmother works at the apothecary

- Doppler gets captured when they go up to the surface and disappears

- Troy tells her that the clockwork soldiers just throw stuff back into the hole, so why hasn't Doppler turned up?

- Due to her failing the mission, she is kicked out of the Street Rats and is no longer allowed to visit their headquarters

- She found a purple crystal known as Wonder Coal while she was on the surface

- Distrusting of Troy after finding out both he and Blink lied about who he truly is (specifically, that he's not Yort or from Reclaim/Cogtopolis)

- Claims to be Is the smartest girl in the city

- Scared of Troy because of his actions and how he's constantly putting everyone in danger

- Hates being called little or anything to do with the fact that she's different

- Needs a doctor (will be discussed in a later episode)

- Her leg braces help her walk, run, and jump better

- She coughed up blood at the end of episode 10 (holy shit, don't kill my gal, I will begin sobbing)

- Her grandma knows that she's ill

- It might be a disease either in her lungs or in her throat

- Her condition began to worsen about 2 months before episode 1

- That's also when she started trying to join the Street Rats

- She's essentially dying (if she dies, I will not be okay)

- The cold does not help her condition (obviously lol)

- Grey admires her strength and her will to keep going, despite her illness (awwww)

- There's an herb on the mountain that can help treat her illness, but it won't cure it

- It lowered the DC of Con Saves and can override a point of exhaustion 3 times

- Knows a lot of people in the Sorting District

- Lives a life of struggle (evidently, he doesn't even have a house, and Graphite lets him spend nights at his place)

- He's very willing to help people out, no matter what (Granny Granite, Troy, etc.)

- Very paranoid and cautious all the time, probably because of the Vixens

- Knows of and (probably) works for The Inventor, but has no knowledge about him

- At risk for a heart attack because of his device and from getting electrocuted

- In a situationship with the Overseer?? Maybe?

- He doesn't have a thing for feet (as Condi said so aggressively lmao)

- Bro is fucking done with Troy (based lol)

- Medusa gave him the confidence to stand up to Troy

- She trained his ass to beat Troy's ass, awesome

- They're besties now, I love that (they do be shit talking Troy)

WD (She/Her)

- She is a fox-hybrid played by Milo :0

- She lives in Cogtopolis and is working on a way out by getting rid of the cave-in

- She's old friends with Ripley, but they got separated because of the cave-in

- She called Ripley really pretty, so I have a feeling that they might be gay :3

- Friends with a koala hybrid named Carpet

- Knows her way around Cogtopolis pretty easily and knows a lot of people

- She works for The Inventor in his secondary lab in Cogtopolis

- A lot of her tools were made by Ripley (we love lesbians)

- She definitely seems to have feelings for Ripley (yippee, lesbians!)

- She hasn't seen Ripley for a while and is desperate to get out of Cogtopolis and find her

Other:

- Clockwork soldiers are patrolling more frequently and can now speak

- Mai is missing after going back home to The Hole

- There are no more races until she is found

- She was in the dungeon that Troy was sent down

- The Inventor is missing after using the teleporter

- The Street Rats are referred to as Relicites by the citizens of Wonder

- People say that they aren't real

- Mai, and Doppler, are at this "Overseer Island"

- Borris mentions The Overseer, but who the hell is that?

- The Overseer is obtaining information from the Street Rats. He has sketches of The Inventor, Ripley, Professor Cross, and Troy

- Why does he have sketches of those people??

- How does he know about the civilization in the hole??

- The Overseer needs The Inventor and needs Ripley captured

- He needs The Inventor because The Inventor will give him power

- The Overseer is suspicious, the way he acts and speaks seems very calculated. It freaks me out

- The Overseer wants Aeon removed from her position of power

- Pinch is working for The Overseer???

- The Overseer hired him to find the Inventor

- He struck a deal with The Overseer to keep Doppler safe

- The Overseer and his soldiers know everything about the Street Rats, including where they live

- It could also be that he has known this entire time that there is a city below his very feet

- Mai is from Reclaim, a bunny-human hybrid

- The Mountaineers are a group of people who live near a mountain that is seemingly very dangerous. They also harvest the Wonderous Coal that is used for power

- The Mountain has 4 tiers, each different from each other. The first tier is a warm, forest area that gave the group 1d10 temporary hit points

- I wonder what the other tiers are like

- There's a chance that since the Wonderous Coal powers everything in Wonder and Reclaim, the forest on the first tier of the Mountain is magical from the coal's properties

- The forest has vague remnants of a place called Farindell (probably spelled that wrong lmao). None of the party has heard of that place

- They also don't know what elves are

- Dark Elves fought Farindell, their place was called Holdstead

- The Wonderous Coal isn't natural, it just appeared out of nowhere. When it originally showed up, no one knew what to do with it

- Fire, Water, and Earth elementals exist in a cave within the forest :0

- There's a stone that controls them

- THEY'RE AT THE PRIME DEFENDERS BASE, TF?? (I need to watch Prime Defenders-)

- Fartbo is there and there's a hologram of Tide talking about the Prime Force

- It seems like the cave-in has prevented food from getting into the city

- There are mostly Reclaim citizens, as far as Runt can tell

- The people are angry with the Future Thinkers because they are so focused on getting out without causing another cave-in

- Ripley is human, so would that mean the Inventor could be too?

- The Future Thinkers believe there is only one right way to do things and disregard anything or anyone that says otherwise, such as Ripley (she deserves better 😤)

Runt and Troy also act like siblings to each other because they're only children (as far as I'm aware, it's just never mentioned if Troy has siblings)

Here are my notes on Wonderlust up to episode 9 because episode 10 comes out this Saturday and I'm very much not normal about it

i need to stop listening to the mechanisms while doing things cause it makes me think (a very dangerous thing)

but i started thinking about the bifrost incident in @saltedcaramelchaos ‘s jrwi x mechs au, and i know wonderlust was maybe assigned udad, but may i humbly suggest…

The Wonder(lust) Incident

Blink as Lyf, that Lion Church Guy as Odin, Ripley as Loki, Troy as Thor, and W.D. as Sigyn, with bonus Lint or Randy as Baldr and Runt as Fenrir

(role explanations under the cut)

Blink: Gives off the necessary tired but also existential dread vibes needed

Aldric (lion guy): seems composed at the beginning, kinda falls apart, obsessed with crazy world stuff, determined to succeed in said crazy world stuff

Ripley: smart woman who wants to do good, actively captured for her knowledge by Aldric

Troy: angriest dude of the bunch, most likely to murder a guy (also ripley accidentally murdering randy or lint would be kinda funny)

W.D.: ripley’s lovely wife who wanted to stand up against oppression (future thinkers/asgardians) also bonus runt as fenrir cause i love the girl scouts

additional judgement! mechs! it would a logical sense for imprisoned mechs to be buck, mel and jaguar, but character wise paeon gives very ivy vibes

also it literally doesn’t matter but my brain is thinking of carpet as kvasir (give him the trauma he was named for)

troy’s mom has canonically passed away? you know what that means

*opens up the beetlejuice musical soundtrack and starts to sketch*

guys they just uploaded judgement, and i’m so sad, my nails don’t match

I’ve been thinking a lot about the clockwork troy and I have my official contribution of theory.

What if Troy was never human?

Both the real Troy and his mom die because of complications from childbirth, and Extraordinary Lougferd feels like he can’t replace his wife, because nothing could ever replace her. But Troy? That can be arranged. Troy becomes the first clockwork soldier, and the standard ones come later. They’re presented first as friends for children, with a young mechanical Troy and his human older brother being used as example. They eventually evolve into servants, then soldiers. All the while, Troy is none the wiser that he isn’t organic, all updates and modifications being done while he’s asleep.

Troy being called the baby of the family? That’s cause he was a baby when he died. Him saying concussions cancel each other out? That’s because sometimes when you whack a device, you can get it working again. Him knocking someone out for stuttering? That’s his subconscious keeping him from being knocked out to fix malfunctions. Terrorist Troy? That’s the clockwork soldier programming activating. He has no idea everything he does is because he’s not human, simply because he was never human.

if we still haven’t found a ship name for Ripley and W.D. might I suggest: ✨Right-Hand Mechanic✨
