Very sorry if this is offensive, genuinely, but isn't Being Drunk one of Demo's only character traits?
Is it a racist stereotype? And if so, to which part of his heritage?
Having an addiction is not a personality trait. It's not a character flaw either. The problem here isn't someone being offensive or engaging in perpetuating a stereotype, it is the fact that you see someone with a drinking problem and think "this defines them as a person".

I know not everyone writes him as his only personality trait being that he’s drunk
but I do run into it a lot and it makes me disappointed because his character has so much potential
And people either ditch it
make a joke about alcoholism
have him be drunk the entire time and not mention anything else about him
I’m not calling anybody out btw!!!
I just think it’s important to spread this bc I love Demoman sm; y’know?
