summary: james sings regulus love songs in the great hall at breakfast and makes a fool out of himself

the thuds of their shoes echoed on the empty corridors and the hardwood floors of the castle as they were running away from the consequence of their prank.

all of them were panting and laughing, and behind them clicked heels.

"quick, here!" remus whisper and opened the door of the broom closet with only a hand, and him and his friends snuck inside.

the clicking of the heels still reverberated in the emptiness. then it stopped.

"where are thosee rascals?" minerva mcgonagall asked herself aloud, looking around the corridor, hoping to catch the boys that put red hair dye down the pipes which carried water to the dorm rooms in the slytherin dungeons.

peter giggled and sirius covered his mouth with their palm.

"you absolute fuck, keep quiet!" sirius whisper-yelled, a smile on their face.

"oh my god, if we get in trouble one more time she's going to take my badge." james exhaled quickly.

"as if you'd care." remus rolled his eyes.

the clicking of the heels started again and the marauders held their breath as they listened. the sound seemed to drift away.

"sirius, peek out and check if she's still there." peter said quietly, looking at sirius shyly.

they opened the door and peeked outside.

"empty." they said simply and looked behind at their friends, who were still waiting for an answer.

"james, move your fat ass!" remus exclaimed as he tried making his way out of the closet.

"you're the one with the fat ass." james retorted.

james silently screamed as remus kicked him in the shin and made his way out of the closet, helping peter out.

once james realized that his dramatics will not make remus apologize, he straightened his back and looked around.

he held his hand out and the rest of the marauders put their hands over james, smiling slyly to each other.

"mischief managed." they grinned to each other.

as sirius black was running on the stairs, the only thing he could hear were the dark thoughts hitting his head. he stopped in front of the door and started searching in his pocket, he reached the keys and opened the door. to make sure there was no one after him, he looked around and closed it, knowing he was safe. sirius looked over his shoulder to see remus stand in front of him, looking south.

"sirius" he said.

"oh, hi remus. i didn't expect you to come home earlier" sirius replied, with an awkward smile on his face.

"i thought work was over an hour ago" remus cocked an eyebrow. "where were you?"

"we had more customers today" sirius sighed. "please don't think i'm doing anything else"

remus walked to the kitchen, got the whiskey bottle and poured it in his glass. he came back to sirius as he slowly took a sip.

"i don't know what to believe, sirius. i don't think peter would do such a thing, nor anyone else."

"so you just come up with the idea that i would betray james and lily? i would rather kill myself than betray anyone, especially them! remus, believe me." sirius said.

"sirius, you're the first one i would think would do this. you know who you are! you're a fucking black! they're fucking heartless! i wouldn't expect you to fake it all just to vanish us all! beginning with the potters!" remus exclaimed. "that's what you want to do, stop lying! you're just like them!"

"i would never! i would never do that kind of thing! remus, i'm not like them! i tried my best to be who i want and not who i should be just for you to accuse me! i start to think you're actually on peter's side, and you blame me just to get out of all the shit he made!" sirius shouted.

"you can't do anything now black, it's too late. you'll be where you belong soon. i hope it will make the worst of you. think about all the rubbish you created" remus hissed and left the room, letting the other alone with broken hope and a broken heart.

it's too late, sirius.

it's no big surprise you turned out this way

"sirius orion black, how dare you! how dare you disrespect me and how dare you screw our reputation up! you should be ashamed of yourself!" walburga shouted in the black's dining room, making the glasses on the table shake. "get out of my sight!"

sirius got up of his chair quickly and ran to his room, thoughts coming up in his head.

when they closed their eyes and prayed you would change

walburga sat on her chair, reached her glass full of wine, took a sip and looked out the window, the moon reflecting itself in her eyes, glistering in tears.

"what did i do wrong" she whispered under her breath. "didn't i raise him right? didn't i raise him to be the heir we all want him to be? am i a bad mother?"

and they cut your hair and sent you away

"where are you going?" regulus asked his older brother, leaning against the door frame.

"away from you all. i'm done" sirius answered." you can come too."

"no..i can't" the other one replied.

sirius sighed. "i'm sorry it has to be like this. well...take care." he finished, putting the last things in his chest and walked downstairs.

"sirius black, where are you going?" walburga asked, getting up from the chair.

"away. and i'm not coming back" he said coldly and left the house.

"sirius...!" walburga shouted. "sirius orion black!"

you stopped by my house the night you escaped

"sirius?" james gasped. "what happened?"

"i-i don't think it's time to explain" sirius replied, panting.

"why am i standing here like this? come in!"

with tears in my eyes i begged you to stay

"i shouldn't come here, i'm sorry" sirius sighed. "i'll just pack my things and search for a place"

"no" james responded. "stay here! you're welcomed!"

"james, you're amazing, but i can't take it. i'm not worthy of staying here, and i'm just a burden."

"no you're not!" james replied. "stay! please!"

you said "hey man, i love you"

"no" sirius finished and exited the room.

"no! wait! sirius!"

"no, james. i shouldn't have been welcomed here. i'll just look for a place to go. sorry"

"sirius!" james shouted after him, with hope that he'll come back.

as he saw sirius walking off, james could only hear the word "sorry" in his head.

"sirius!"

"but no fucking way"

"we'll change the world!" james exclaimed, hugging his friends tightly.

sirius black- 5'10". has to stand on his tiptoes to kiss remus but is tall enough to make fun of james for being small

remus lupin- 6'6" and always hits his head in doorframes

james potter- 5'6". short king. he is slightly taller than peter but he looks taller than he is because he's well built. never in his life lied about his height. sirius always makes fun of him and he makes fun of himself too

peter pettigrew- 5'5" but brags that he is only one inch shorter than james

lily evans- 5'8", love me some tall gf & short bf

mary macdonald- 5'5", is actually average height

dorcas meadowes- 6'1" and always makes fun of their shorter friends

marlene mckinnon- 4'11", no objections. small but fierce and will kick you in the shin if you make fun of how short she is

frank longbottom- 5'8", is also average heighted and enjoys it because he can both reach the top shelf and he doesn't hit his head in everything

note: this is the first time i'm writing something in a long time and it may be BAD (by the way, i'm gonna use the xe pronoun on sirius)

29th of October, 1981

The only thing sirius was thinking about was the suspicion xe had about peter. and xe couldn't deny, peter was acting weirder than ever, and sirius knew that the idea of peter being the secret keeper was a horrible idea. maybe the worst idea xe had in a long, long time. sirius even talked about it to james, and xe thought james wouldn't believe it, but for xyr happines, james told xem that he was going to think about it. sirius slowly put xyr glass of wine on the small, black table and got off the chair xe were sitting on and walked up to the potter's living room, where peter was.

"peter" sirius said quietly, so only peter could hear xem.

"sirius?" peter jumped off the couch he was sitting on. " i mean...yes? what is it?"

peter slowly started sweating, having the idea that sirius would want to talk about the things xe had in mind. he raised his head up to sirius to see xem look at him with a suspicious, but disappointed face.

"what did you do again?" sirius asked peter, trying to remain calm, though xe could explode any second.

"i...have no idea what you are talking about..." peter said, trying to keep a weird, fake smile on his face, while sweat kept running on his face.

"you told voldemort everything you could, didn't you? he knows everything about them." sirius looked down at peter, keeping the disappointed mask on.

"i..why would i, sirius? james and lily are my friends, i would never betray them!" peter exclaimed.

peter knew that was a lie, he did betray them. he betrayed them for power. for more power than he was already given. and sirius knew that too.

sirius let out a small, quiet sigh and walked up to the room xe went out of before, and sat back at the table, trying not to let a single tear come down. xe knew that was the end, at least for james and lily.

Tall Sirius??

Don’t get me wrong, I love how the fandom has decided that (due to the movies) that Sirius is smaller than Remus.

But in the books it is stated that Sirius was the tallest marauder. So just picture this…

Tall Sirius not being scared of Remus. He’s like “werewolf? I can’t see one”, as he peers over Remus’ head.

Tall sirius picking Remus up after moons and carrying him back to the dorm.

Just tall Sirius guys. It would be great to see more content of him being tall and smug as shit about it.

Justifying the marauders being bullies is not only shitty and biased on the marauders fans part, but also contradictory to the Harry Potter franchise. I find it so funny seeing fans attempt to justify them as if their entire story isnt supposed to be a plot device for Harry, as if the bullying isn't supposed to shatter all of Harry's superficial views on his parents, and make him realize how truly shitty they had been. Or more specifically, how shitty James had been.

" What was making Harry so horrified and unhappy, was not being shouted at or having jars thrown at him, it was that he knew how it felt to be humiliated in the middle of a circle of on lookers, knew exactly how Snape had felt as his father had taunted him. The entire premise is supposed to be about Harry. Harry's realization, Harry coming to terms with reality. So you denying that the marauders were bullies is denying Harry's arc, its denying a whole plot point in the books. Regardless if you like Snape or not, one fact is clear, the marauders were bullies, they were all shitty people, Sirius' selfishness, Remus being the definition of a deadbeat, Peter being well, Peter. And James being the bully and bigot that he were, alongside the other marauders aswell.

Also its fine to enjoy the fanon versions, i do aswell. But its also important to acknowledge that they were shitty people and we shouldn't condemn them. Especially if you're talking about the bullying, because attempting to diminish someone's harassment is really low considering these are all fictional characters, whilst bullying is a real active issue.

A Barty and James, as brothers, AU has been circling in my head and has been scratching my brain just right.

Like those big brown eyes, soft, messy black hair, defined jaws, the tan, the bad eyesight (that Barty refuses to admit he has).

Just the way James would be the best big brother and help an Italian Barty to learn English, because his mother knew very little and Sr refuses to teach him or get him help to learn.

Just the hugs, the screaming matches, the emotional stunted mess that is Barty, James holding Barty together when he isn't quite sure what's real. James helping Barty through his depressive episodes, Barty grounding James when he needs it most, helping him get his head out the clouds.

Barty screaming and crying on the Potter's front doorstep for his brother when he could feel himself literally snapping in two from the abuse he has been put under.

Effie thinking she would never have to ever see the product of Fleamont's disloyalty (that they had spent ages working through to get back to where they are now) only to find herself immediately thinking of Barty as her son.

The cuddles.

Barty still becoming a death eater and is unsure why James doesn't hate him. James just wants to see Barty happy and he knows that that is with Evan.

James praying to everything he could think of and performing protection rituals to make sure that his little brother survives the war. He would never be able to look at himself again if something happened and he hadn't tried to do anything.

Barty not fighting Azkaban because he literally has nothing to live for anymore, except maybe some revenge.

Everyone thinking Barty is crying out of fear when he gets sentenced to the dementors' kiss when really they are of happiness because he is just so over it, he wants James, and Evan, and Regulus. And he wants a fucking hug.

Barty and Remus both get carried around a lot for the same reason but very different at the same time.

Remus, who's having a worse day with his chronic pain than usual, is forced into James' arms, kicking, screaming, and all, but gives up quickly because the relief is almost instant from not having to stand and the affection is nice.

Barty, on the other hand, literally can not walk from how well he was fucked the night before. He tried, multiple times, in fact, but he can't feel his legs, and everything feels so heavy. So he wraps himself around Evan, who easily carries Barty around like he hasn't disabled his boyfriend for a short period of time.

Remus: Well, Peter's asexual, James won't be pulling anyone any time soon, and Sirius is too in love with me to do anything with anyone else.

(Remus says to Regulus, who is complaining about how Barty and Evan have started fucking and dont know what a silencing charm is).

Currently thinking of a wolfstar The Greatest Showman AU. With Sirius as Zac Efron's character and Remus as Zendaya's character.

(James would so be Hugh Jackman's character)

Remus: shit. Gotta hate bleeding out.

James:(starts getting out of his chair with concern, before reliasing that he's probably just talking about his period.)

James: (very hard thinking 🤔)

James: (shoots out of his seat towards Remus, knowing full well that Remus finished his period a couple days ago, because of the lack of demands for honeydukes.)

Remus: *passes out from blood loss gracefully*

This is a photo that was taken by James, but he can't stop blushing when he looks at it, so Peter put it up in their dorm as a joke but now he can't stop blushing from it. And anyone who looks at it is a mess of blush. So they all kinda avoid looking at that corner to keep their sanity
