Interestingly I Was Obsessed With Tom Petty At The Time When MCR Were Most Active - Blog Posts

Anyways, I’m just having some nostalgia(tm) this morning and I was just thinking about all the ways fandom has affected my musical experiences of late since I joined the MCR fandom and how much Tumblr has had to do with that. 

And then I was like, what would it have been like if I had grown up with fandom around the music I was listening to in my youth (I say like an old person)? And anyways I’m looking through pictures of Tom Petty on Tumblr now as I continue to contemplate Tumblr fandoms and my musical tastes. I picked this one to share because I hadn’t seen it before and his hair looks particularly lovely here. 

(I did make a post with some of my favorite Tom Petty pics a while back, though I was basically just talking about how I thought Lemony Snicket ought to look like Tom Petty.) 

Also, I believe I’ve found references to Tom Petty made by 3 of 4 MCR members in various interviews and things (I think Mikey is the only one I haven’t heard mention him) and I do love the excitement of finding the people behind one of your obsessions mentioning another (just like whenever Gerard mentions a fondness for Doctor Who).
