Pride
Last one and I must say this was my favorite teaser. The colors, the aesthetic, the vibes and of course Xion loved it. Also I really enjoyed making this moodboard. That's a bit of wild symbolism but flowers are turned to him cause he represents(I guess) pride and vanity. You see that mirror, that reminded me of the myth about Narcissus.
God I love this teaser it is perfect, rbw you better don't disappoint.
The giver of blood and love is fragile
as it beats faint within the fold of your
broken breast. The giant’s grass of the forest
sways gently in the wind, unaware of your
selfish weight crushing the earth below.
You used to dance with grace as light as a breeze
among the blossoms of spring, but now you
have been stripped and knocked down, lying
heavy in the cold dirt of disenchanted
winter. You bury yourself in the decay of your
innocence as the rain of remorse now pours down
your cheeks. The one who did this to you feels no
regret. You let him take the silver trinkets
from your pain-streaked body and he
hung them from the bedpost that he might
admire those trophies of his conquest.
You have given up that blissful ignorance that you
once held so dear. Now you must stand alone and
face the world, for he is not there to lift you.
There is no changing what has been done.

Leonora Carrington, from The Hearing Trumpet
"Hold fast to dreams for if dreams go life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly..."
A young angel, drowning. Their wings wet, and they can’t fly to safety, snd they can’t call for help. Losing your innocence so young is so difficult, but you’re not alone. You have many supporting you, including me
He is not heavy, he is my friend.
Be kind.
You'll probably forget about it after a while, but the other person might remember it for the rest of their lives. 💜
Paul Eluard
So this came into my head when was rewatching episode 79 "Noah's Memory". During the episode Road is reading from the Bible, specifically about the great flood/three days of darkness, which was stated in series that the Noah caused. The passage states that the Lord destroyed what They created after seeing the corruption man had bought and that only Noah and his kin had survived. Road then says that Noah's hatred had not weakened in 7000 years. All while Skinn (and Wrathra) are repeating that they will never forgive God or Innocence.
Now Road doesn't imply that the passage is incorrect and she is one of the only four Noah that are knowledgeable about the history of the Clan of Noah. The other three are Wisely and the Fourteenth (both of whom, at this point, are yet to awaken) and the Millennium Earl who standing next to Road in the scene. He encourages Skinn's hatred of God, to which Road seems to agree on. Which is surprising because she says in the rewinding town arc that the Noah are the true apostles of God. The Earl has also used the terms like "cruel" and "hateful" to describe God when convincing people to call to their loved ones and unknowingly create Akuma.
My theory is that the Noah were God's chosen people but were betrayed by Them by creating the Innocence and maybe the flood too.
The reason I came up with is that the Lord created Dark Matter for the Noah so they could carry out Their commands. After some time the Noah became too powerful and either they "corrupted" those around them or God saw them as a threat to Their control. So the Lord created Innocence to counteract the Dark Matter and sent the accommodators to fight the Noah. That battle could have caused the three days of darkness. A slightly crazier idea I had was that God could has sent the great flood when They saw that the accommodators were losing as a last resort to end the Noah but Mightra had already made the Arc. In volume 19, chapter 187 it's stayed that the first Millennium Earl died fighting against the wielder of the Heart of the Innocence but the other twelve Noah survived and repopulated the world.
That's why Wrathra will never forgive God, Innocence and the Exorcists. Because God betrayed the Noah. Because Innocence is Gods weapon. Because the Exorcists are Gods warriors.
So all in all an excellent video as usual. But what I want to talk about is what was number 1: the deal with the Millennium Earl. I agree it is horrific. But it made me realise how sick the Innocence is. The risk the exorcists take in order to fight him and the Clan Of Noah is enormous. If an exocist refuses to fight and their synchronation rate drops they will become a Fallen One and destroy everything around you then will be disintegrated by the Innocence. Even the organisation behind the exorcists are sick. Before Komui became chief the Black Order was allowed to experiment on not just the exorcists and finders but also their families anytime they pleased. And don't forget the second and third exorcist programs. There is no such thing as a good deal in D.Gray-Man
That was when I met him. My undoing. He was like a father to me, but I was not like a daughter to him. He knew this. He knew what I saw when I looked into his eyes, and he did not look into mine, drawn into the gaps between my blouse’s buttons like black holes for morality. I was always to blame for his touches. I had always thought of myself as a girl, as a person, but really, I was a place. A place for innocence to die.
Ugh, this movie hurts. It’s one to watch by yourself, in a overheated basement, in the middle of the day after you’ve already eaten--be as comfortable as you can get, because once you stop watching it, you can’t restart. So please, watch it, just know you can only watch it in one take
Many movies have stayed with me long after I have watched them, but this film remained on my Netflix que until it was going to be removed in a few days (I think it’s been put back one--regardless) I ended up seeing it around the time a friend of mine who had survived the Holocaust had just passed. While for most of the time I knew him he spoke very little, he lived to be 100, to “fuck the Nazis’”
I didn’t know too much about the film before I saw it, I had some understanding about the general synopsis but not even for sure that the boy was in an official Nazi camp. The ending of the story is of course heartbreaking and accurately works as the nail in the coffin. But the real heartbreak for me is the story for the mother and all parents who sees as we see with her, her daughter transform in one direction as we see her son transform in a different direction. Knowing and seemingly uncomfortable with the situation around her, she remains quiet and does very little to stand up for others and pays a very dear price for it. Now, this is not because I feel more for those caught between what is good and what is easy--no. But focusing on this story that focuses on a family that either just follows orders, chooses to ignore the truth of their world, follows the crowd or is too naive to know the difference (in his, and only his case it’s understandable as he is a child) and shows how choosing to be blind not only doesn’t make your inaction okay but it also may lead you to some ugly realities and consequences as we are all connected in this world.
While overall it is heartbreaking, I truly love and adore the story of Bruno and Shmuel’s friendship. While they are young they become friends and true friends, as while Bruno blames Shmuel out of fear, he apologizes and Shmuel both walks away and then later forgives Bruno. There is a lot of hate given to child-like wonder and this film should remind all how child-like wonder is a truly wonderful gift. While Bruno is clueless to the dangers and hate of the world around him, he takes things in as he sees them seeing those imprisoned as different than the “Jews” he’s being taught about and questions his adults--who should know and act better. He and Shmuel both also remind us how as people it is ourselves, and only ourselves, that stop us from living in a peaceful society
Sadako and the Thousand paper cranes was the true story of Sadako Sasaki, who was a child when the atom bombs were dropped in Japan during World War II. She was only 12 years old when she died from Leukemia developed from the bombs—a fate similar to many children who were young when the bombs were dropped, linked to the effects of radiation. In the novel she tries to make 1,000 origami paper cranes that when completed will allow her to wish to heal, in real life she is able to make over 1,000 cranes but still dies, her wish not coming true.
The story of Sadako is known worldwide and impacts many as it is the story of a young child’s want to live and persistence. The story of Sadako also reminds all about how war is not a small or controllable action: there are many, many unforeseen consequences—and many that are foreseeable are ignored. Whether she folds the 1,000 paper cranes or not, the aspect of the story that hits me the most is how much she wanted to live, how much she did and didn’t understand (a lot of which was no understandable) and the love that surrounded her and surrounds other communities during a tragedy. A symbol of peace and innocence, this is a story that should always be shared, even when the days of war have ended.
Alastor Moody is, of course, a difficult character to think back on because most of our experiences with him--weren’t actually him
Regardless, he was still an important character, one of the few characters who was in the Order of the Phoenix during both Wizarding Wars. A brave and skilled wizard he was also a good judge of character (Igor Karkaroff), giving (Tonks was his protégé) and he didn’t care too much about what others thought of him—only considering the opinion of those he deemed worthy.
What I think most about him, is he gives us a glimpse into some mental illness, disillusion and how Ron would be in his later years with PTSD. Even as a high-ranking Auror, people mostly avoided him as he had become a bit paranoid
Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t after you
after all his years serving as an Auror and all those he had put away. He had limited friends he felt he could trust and had shown to have many scars showing all he had been thru. In the brief moments with him, he showed to be sentimental and trying to form human connections where he could and appreciating them: giving Harry the original Order of the Phoenix photo and his relationship with Tonks
PS Very glad Harry worked to get his eye back
Cedric Diggory was an important character as he embodied all we missed out on, not knowing more Hufflepuff characters closely. Dumbledore’s speech about how he was a fierce friend, chose to do what’s right over what was easy, and was shown to constantly be his biggest opponent, not hating those who bested him but only trying to better himself.
It is these Hufflepuff traits that are one of the two main reasons this character has had such a profound impact. Being the complete opposite of boastful, even before Harry told him about the Dragons he tried to stop people hating on Harry, knowing there was enough Hogwarts pride to go around. This extends to the previous year when he catches the golden snitch just moments after the Dementors come onto the Quidditch field and paralyze Harry. He feels this wasn’t a fair win and as Captain, protests against their win to no prevail. A sentiment he carries even during the Quidditch World Cup when his father brags about how ‘’he beat thee Harry Potter!”
One could go on forever about Cedric, it really is no wonder why Cho loved him, (even thou I got the impression that if given both options she would’ve chosen Harry) but what equally sticks out is Cedric’s impact and representation of the innocent victims of war. While the film overall was horrendously shackled together, the scene in the film and book bring me to tears long before his death and their return to Hogwarts. He was just a good person, in the wrong place, at the wrong time. The reaction of his classmates and especially his father and the circumstances were meant to highlight how truly ugly and unnecessary war is. There was no reason for his death, and like most wars even the young men and children who survive physically lose their minds to it. Finally, on a small level, Harry’s guilt and other’s reactions for his survival and Cedric’s death reminds me of the understanding how death happens to those left behind; as while Cedric comes back as a ghost momentarily he thinks only of his parents and unknowingly remains as a force in Harry to stop Voldemort.
me, randomly looking out the window: i miss jumping rope and playing hopscotch and tag and just being a happy, innocent kid.
