one of my favorite writing moments is when the characters are divorced but when there’s a flashback in the pre-divorce era it shows them in a happy relationship but there’s like subtle hints of what went wrong in the relationship. like it’s only a casual mention and probably less than a sentence but it’s there. if that makes sense
