The Womanhood of a Pomegranate

The molars that ingrain into my jaw,

That only bite to make something of theirs,

That whisper to me soft honey'd words,

You are youth and you are o'divine,

It purrs unlatching its maw from my throat,

If you are the forbidden fruit? Will you share your seeds of knowledge before i am cast?

A cruel joke.

One that thumbs my calyx in hoping,

of tearing my rind.

The fingers that prod and break through,

Into the catacombs of my body,

Into the network of my mind,

That messily jab at my vermilion pearls,

And trace the symbolic runes of my membrane,

Gentler than the shepard of the herd,

or the one comes around to butcher,

Only to taunt, plucking out my avril, with same hand that promised me freedom.

And of course, i am spared no apology,

I am not left my dignity nor my hide,

For why would you care for such simple matters?

The rodent you run over,

is only given a simple instruction to live,

And the flower you drown,

Makes its burial not in the soil,

but in the dark abyss of your trashbin.

Are you really to blame for this though?

For giving into such temptations,

For making my blood stain your lips,

Like the rabid dog,

that snarls at the hand that feeds it,

Is it the naivety of the craftsman to trust his god-

Or the god that planted the sense of survival in man?
