sun wukong is literally the embodiment of “he’s a little confused but he got the spirit”. he didn’t go about it super-well when he followed blake on the boat and he did invade her privacy at points, but it’s clear that when he talks to neptune, he was genuinely just in it because he’s a good friend and he knew blake needed someone to remind her that her baggage didn’t mean she didn’t deserve loving friends. if he were pretending, he would’ve dropped the act with neptune but he actually argued with him when neptune said he was ‘letting her go’
