Ayo ayo!! Today I bring to you another specimen to dissect with me :) Today? We're talking about One for all/All for one!
Canon showcases that you cannot have more than one quirk in your body without it causing some form of harm to you mentally/physically. This is showcased with the Nomus (there is probably some addition I'm missing to this seeing as I'm an anime only with the occasional spoiler thrown in there but for now this is all based on the anime). Nomus have more than one quirk -forcefully-and are barely capable of critical thinking/other qualities that separate [humans] from non-humans. This is due to the fact that they all had more than one quirk forced into them.
Now, how does this relate to One for all and All for one? Both of those quirks are quirks that give the user the ability to have more than one quirk at once. For All for one its the fact that the user can take multiple quirks and for One for all its the fact that the user can use other peoples quirks. Both quirks give the user more than one quirk than they were born with.
With the aforementioned fact that having more than one quirk forced into your body, All for one and One for all realistically should cause some form of brain damage.
TLDR: One for all and All for one should cause the user brain damage due to the fact that canon states that having more than one quirk forced into your body causes the user to revert to their animal brain.
Hi hi everyone!! I return with once again another thing about someone's quirk! Today? Bakugou Katsuki (I wanna say here at the top that I don't particularly like Bakugou so if there is any biasness or passive aggression in this that's why!)
Bakugou has excellent control over his quirk. This is stated in cannon however I don't think its ever expressed to the extent that it is.
His quirk (explosion) allows him to excrete a nitroglycerin-like sweat, which is all good and well except for the fact that nitroglycerin is a unstable explosive in its pure form.
Granted, the substance is only like nitroglycerin but it could still be unstable, meaning that Bakugou has to know how to move without causing explosions. Nitroglycerin goes off with a small jolt of movement so if Bakugou makes one wrong move it's likely something will explode. But, that never happens in cannon, likely meaning that Bakugou has such good control over his quirk that he can do drastic movements (as show below)
In addition to that, he is able to control when an explosion goes off. Which is another example of his control over his quirk.
TLDR: Bakugou has one of the most unstable quirks in class 1-A yet he has excellent control over it.
(p.s. do you like the new layout?)
Hello hello!! Today I bring you more quirk questions :9 The victim? Mezo Shoji!
Analysis/questions start here
I'm sure we are all aware of how Shoji can recreate ears, eyes and, mouths on his limbs right. But the question is, how? He creates some of the most complicated parts of the human body within a matter of seconds on his limbs?? what does even look like internally??
I'll start with the ears first: So, if you didn't know I'll insert a diagram of how we hear things! The questions will be continued under that :)
How does he create all of that within a matter of seconds AND have it work properly? I'll start with the how! What does he make it out of? Is it similar to how Eri can rewind stuff but not make matter up so if you want her to give you your eyes back you'll either have to get a set of eyes to use or have her use a similar organ in the human body? id send it to your brain and then BAM! you're seeing things!
Now with that out of the way I'll get into how this relates to Shoji !
How does he create all of that within a matter of seconds AND have it work properly? Does shoji just make matter or does he sacrifice a part of his body for the extra appendages? Or does he just have extra stuff stored somewhere in his body to create them? Also! Where is it located?
Does the ear canal just follow along his arms like below?
Now onto the eyes! For his hand eyes (what else am I meant to call them?) do they even work properly? Or do they see in black and white? because I would imagine that its rather difficult to create all the complex internals of an eye (the cones, rods and other small details) within a matter of seconds. In addition to all of the, how does he see out of them? its the same issue with the ears, the distance from the ends of the appendages to his brain is so vast that I feel like it wouldn't make sense. Do the receptors that allow us to see just follow along the same lines as the ear canal?
Finally the mouth! After the mouth there will be one more statement with my final thoughts and then the traditional tldr statement :) HOW DOES HE MAKE A MOUTH??? AND GET IT TO SPEAK???? Do his lungs just suddenly connect to this random new mouth or does he make a whole new set of lungs just for the new mouth?? also! if he kept a mouth long enough would it lose teeth, or are the mouths just a replica of his own? So like, if he had dental issues would the mouths also have the same issues or are the mouths like brand new with baby teeth?
Final statement Basically, all I wanna know is the exact process that happens when he makes these new appendages? where do they come from? does he have to sacrifice things already existing in his body to make them? and do they work well?
TLDR: Shojis quirk makes 0 fucking sense, how does one man make so many complex parts of the human body in a few seconds (followed by a mass amount of questions)
HELLO EVERYONE!! I'm back!! I descended into the madness that is ao3; But I have returned! The rant is going to be less structured and is going to present how I'll most likely be formatting my quirk rants in the future :) The old format may have been more professional and organized but it was so draining and made me lose all interest so now were doing it this way!! Todays subject? Ochaco Uraraka ^^
analysis starts here
For starters I wanna say, calling her quirk "Zero Gravity" is an injustice. I would say a much better name for it would be something similar to "gravity negation".
To give evidence for this: I'll start with the first time we see her use her quirk (when she saved Midoriya from falling on the first day). If her quirk really was "Zero Gravity" Midoriya would have just kept going up into space due to not having any gravitation poll. BUT THATS NOT WHAT HAPPENS! What does end up happening is that [Midoriya] just sorta floats there. Implying -however indirectly- that Urarakas' quirk isn't "Zero Gravity" but instead allows her to lessen the gravity of things (that could also be a pun for her having a bubbly personality and lighting the mood of a situation, therefore making the gravity or intensity of something lighter).
For more evidence lets look at the sports festival. During her fight with Bakugou she, for a short period of time, floats her jacket low to the ground to distract Bakugou. Same as before, if her quirk was actually "Zero Gravity" the jacket would have just kept going up.
Once again during the sports festival, when she used her quirk to float boulders above Bakugou to pelt him with. Its the exact same as before, If her quick was "Zero Gravity" they would have just kept going up.
NOW FOR A FUN LITTLE TIBIT
Seeing as her quirk isn't actually "Zero gravity" but is instead, her negating the gravity of objects, it's very possible she could increase the gravity of an object or person allowing her much more offensive options.
TLDR: Calling Urarakas' quirk "Zero gravity" is an injustice and it actually should be something along the lines of "Gravity Negation" due to lots of evidence
Todays quirk analysis is on Momo!
Analysis following canon starts here <3
Creation is a quirk that allows Momo to materialize/create (as the name implies) different non-living objects as long as she understands the atomic configuration of the object. She creates things by breaking down her body fat at a molecular level, which will then be re-used as material for her to shape into objects with her quirk.
The process that she has to go through to create things are:
-imagining the parts
-imagine the materials
-imagine the assembling process
-finally, imagining the coating
Momo can also change the materials of the objects she makes to give them special properties. She can also only half-way produce something, leaving it to protrude from her body.
Strengths
Momos quirk is very versatile and allows her to both be on the defense and offense. She also has one of the best quirks for working with a team, allowing her to produce things to help her teammates as a whole and individually.
Due to Momos high intelligence and quick thinking she is able to create plans almost any challenge she faces.
Weaknesses
Momo requires time to make things and so if she is continually attacked by her opponent she has no time to think and go on the offense.
What Momo makes depends on both the complexity and size of the object as well as the amount of fat lipids in her body. The more complex of an object, the more complex the item is, the more fat lipids she expends.
Momo ends up weakened if she doesn't have enough fat stored up to create things.
In order to create things she must understand it at an atomic level and so she isn't able to create things she doesn't understand at an atomic level.
Special moves
Yaoyorozu's Lucky Bag: Creating a cannon, Momo makes and shoots a bag that is filled with tools for her allies to use.
All the info above can be found on Momos wiki page :)
Questions
What is the biggest item Momo has ever created? The most complex item she has ever made? Does her body type change when she uses her quirk and does that cause her to have to constantly have clothing in all sizes?
Analysis following my own theory starts here !!
My personal theory is that her quirk is actually just an advanced metabolism. The way she trains her quirk in canon is much more aligned with the metabolism idea. During the training camp arch she continually eats while making things. After eating things they don't turn directly into fat lipids, making it much more likely she's using the energy from the food than the fat lipids.
There is also no noticeable change in her body type when using her quirk. I would think that expending your fat lipids to create things would make a change in your body type, so the lack of a body type change makes me think that her quirk is an advanced metabolism.
All of the theories above would allow her to make a drastic change in her hero costume, because she wouldn't need as large of a space create things. I'll probably touch on that during another rant, maybe during the support item saga :v
TLDR: A quick summary of Momos quirk and her special moves, as well as how I think her quirk would actually work.
Time for some quirk analysis!! I'm very excited to share these so you can expect them to be very long :)
Today? Mina Ashido or Pinky <3
Here starts the analysis following canon
Mina produces a corrosive liquid from her skin, her skin is resistant to said acid. Her pink skin is a result of her quirk altering her skin pigment but, unlike her skin the acid is a grey color.
Mina is able to produce high amounts of acid from her skin and is able to control its form to an extent. She can also control the levels of the levels of solubility and viscosity of her acid.
Strengths
Mina is able to produce enough acid to melt solid objects, including metal. She is able to control the level of acidity and viscosity of the acid making her quirk extremely versatile. She is also able to use her acid to make entrance and exit holes into buildings.
Along with that she can use her ability to burn holes into things to climb buildings and walls. She is also excellent at mobility, producing acid under her feet and using it to skate around.
Weaknesses
Mina's skin isn't 100% acid proof so if she produces too much acid her skin will start to wear away. She also has difficulty controlling the he levels of solubility and viscosity of her acid, which makes her wary of fighting people. Her quirk also doesn't have any strength enhancing properties, making her a bit more reliant on her quirk.
Special moves
-Acid Veil: Mina maximizes her acid's solubility and viscosity and creates a powerful acid wall which blocks incoming projectiles. (Its powerful enough to break the balls in the provisional license exam, which are harder then concrete)
-Acid shot: Mina launches a barrage of acid bullets on an opponent and their surroundings
-Acid Layback: Mina produces acid from her feet to dissolve the surface of the ground, allowing her to spin faster. With the added speed she is able to throw projectiles at a higher speed
Grape-Pinky Combo Mineta-Bounce: The follow up for Acid layback; After using acid layback Mina throws Mineta and he throws Pop-off spheres and bounces off them
-Acidman (My personal favorite <3): Increasing the viscosity of her acid, she produces a large amount in a vaguely anthropomorphic form, covering her whole body. This move is also defensive and will dissolve an attack launched at Mina
All of the info above can be found on Minas Wikipedia page ^^
Questions
Where does Mina produce the acid from? Its obviously from her skin but is it from her pores? Or does she have two sets of pores, one for the acid and one for sebum (the stuff your pores normally produce)? Is her acid just a different version of sebum that she is able to control? (After the questions there will be a section on more detail about sebum and how it relates to Minas quirk) Where does the acid come from? Does she have a place to store the acid underneath her skin? Where does the acid come from? Is it in her blood stream?
Analysis following my own theory starts here!
Sebum is what your pores produce and, it is acidic. It has a pH level of 4 to 5.5 (anything below 7 is acidic). So this begs the question, is Minas quirk just her controlling the sebum she produces? The pores that produce sebum don't exist on palms and bottoms of the feet (places we see Mina produce acid from several times) so Mina would need to have extra pores on these spots.
Assuming Minas quirk is just her controlling the sebum she produces its more then likely she would also have the needed pores to produce sebum on her palms and the bottoms of her feet. Minas quirk changes the color of her skin to be a pinkish purple, so if we stick with the idea that her quirk, rather than it being 'producing acid from the skin' and being 'manipulating the sebum she produces naturally', it could be the natural coat of sebum on her skin that has caused this change. Though that is highly unlikely, just a little end thought :)
TLDR: For the first half, I just explained Minas Strengths and weaknesses as well as her Special moves. The second half is me talking about how her quirk would work if it was based on some form of evolution.
Its time for my favorite saga! The quirk analysis saga (which I will definitely be revisiting again after I've cleared all the rants I've already written)!
I wanna start the saga off with my base theory for everything. By that I mean, this is an entire different thing from canon and is where I think quirks come from. However, in future quirk analysis's I will include one that is based on canon and one that is based on my own theory. Now onto the theory :)
I believe that quirks are advanced form of evolution. My reasoning for this is that a lot of the people of the my hero world have quirks that can be explained by evolution (ex. Mina, Momo, Bakugou, etc.). I’ll get into explanation about a lot of this evolution when it comes to specific people.
You'll see this theory used a lot when it comes to my analysis of Mina and Momos' quirks especially. But, to backtrack on what I said, I think quirks are based on evolution. Every quirk has some way to be explained via science and evolution. Looking at Mina and Momos' quirks are actually where I got this theory from! It's kina hard to explain by itself but I can tell you Minas analysis is next and so you'll see this used more there (^^)
TLDR: I think quirks are based on evolution and have evidence to base this off of that you'll see in future rants.
This one is also super short but!! Its the last of the hero costume saga! I'll be moving onto quirk theory next :)
Todays rant is the 0.5 of the positive rants. Its about Eraserhead or Aizawa!
The only real issues I have with his hero costume are his support item and the fact that he doesnt put his hair up. The support item one will come later when I do the support item saga so I'll start with the hair!
His hair is the biggest give away of when he is using his quirk so its very illogical of him to have long hair. He could cut it short and then bam! No one would be able to tell! Orrrr, if he wanted to keep it long he could just put it in a bun and then nobody would be able to tell!
There are so many simple solutions and it just bugs me that he doesnt put his hair up.
I, however, do think his overall hero costume is great for similar reasons to Tokoyami !
TLDR: Aizawa has a great hero costume that really only needs small changes to be perfect.
todays hero costume rant is actually a positive one!! Its Tokoyami! A very underrated hero imo
For starters I wanna say: The all black of his hero costume is so nice :) Its so cohesive and just ijuakjlnlklkjmergkllk PLUS THE FACT THAT HE HAS A CLOAK??? THIS MAN THOUGH OF EVERYTHING
Its like the perfect hero costume. He has boots, its not a skin-tight body suit which makes it even better. Its been shown that he can use the cloak in combat. Plus he can hide stuff behind the cloak. NOT TO MENTION HOW COOL HIS QUIRK IS JSJKKNKJNGJKREGJIJKL;;;; AND HIS BELT?? ITS SO PERFECT. THE IDEAL HERO COSTUME. This one isn't much of an analysis and is more of a "Ghost freaks out about how cool Tokoyami is" but I hope you enjoyed it non the less :)
