So, what is it with Webby and snakes?
I didn’t even notice this HELP-
People: "Stop reading too much into the show!" The show:
Sometimes, jokes the audience sees coming are better.
Sometimes, kills the audience sees coming are better.
Sometimes, twists the audience sees coming are better.
Let these things happen. Foreshadowing is FUN, yo.
“I never knew how much value that important person had I never knew how much a beautiful day was worth I never knew how great the time we had together was I never knew how torturous missing someone was Never ever ever We’ll miss someone important when we leave them We’ll miss the beautiful days when that time passes by I’ll miss the time we had together when you have to go And right now, do you know just how much I miss you? I’ll never ever forget you” — Never by 25 Hours
Hudson was quiet for a moment, flexing his still very injured hand.
"Got forced to drink ink again," he said quietly, his eyes not looking at Jack. "I swear, he's going to kill me one day."
"I just wish he would leave me alone with his 'lord Bendy' shit. It doesn't make sense and I'm just....."
"...Getting worse....everyday."
"Heh, it's kind of funny in my mind if I didn't vomit ink three times a week now."
“Hudson, some guy just informed me you punched a mirror. I’m really gonna need an explanation for that one cause I’m worried, and the studio can’t exactly afford property damage.”

"I will kill Seymour."
"I'm fine. And no, you do not."

Yes, a follow-up to the last post! The happily married, fun couple before the tragedy! (It's not like I'm still drowning in HW or anything.)
Meet Yichen Hao, Huan, and Long's father. Don't expect his horns to look the same in every drawing I'm going to make of him; I'm never consistent.
(I felt bad that I kept calling them Huan's parents when they are also Long's parents too; I just keep forgetting about him. o v o)
My universal HC for all dragons is that in their human form, they are tall, and that half dragon will either get dragon tall or human short, no in between.
Huan and Mei got human short while Long got dragon tall. I suck as drawing accurate height but he holding her up in the drawing.
Their ship name is: Everlasting
(Ironic and cruel, I'm very evil.)
Fun Fact:
During the 'Tragedy' Hao's kill count skyrocketed, putting all the demons to shame and making Sung Wukong kill count in the JTTW look like child's play.
Before anyone freaks out, that's not Huan. Now we know who won the genetic lottery.
I was just sitting at my desk, drowning in assignments and projects, when an intrusive thought just bonked my brain. So, have this very messy sketch of what Huan's mom looks like.

Someone is not ready for their “Divorce Arc”
———
Did this during class time. I ready should be paying attention to my lecture but oh well.
Omfg, I just realized something...
In Lucifer, when Linda and Amenadiel discuss their baby's name, Linda mentioned Michael, but Amenadiel said "No, definitely not Michael"!!! That was foreshadow!!!!!! How did I don't notice that!!!!!
Season 1 episode 4: "Fall of the castle of lions" Season 6 episode 7: The actual fall of the castle of Lions
new Headcanon unlocked!
Remember in Adventure Time when it was foreshadowed for years that Finn was gonna lose his arm?
Remember in Steven Universe when it was foreshadowed that Steven was gonna have something happen to his eye?
Remember John's MAGIC CHEST?
In here you keep an array of humorous and mystical ARTIFACTS, each one a devastating weapon in the hands of a SKILLED MAGICIAN or a CUNNING PRANKSTER.
This sounds eerily familiar.
A “MAGIC CHEST”...
...containing a “mystical ARTIFACT” that’s “a devastating weapon”...
VRISKA: The legend says there's some mystical ancient treasure hidden somewhere out here in the furthest ring. VRISKA: I'm assuming it's some kind of weapon. It's said that if you use it, or like, activ8te it in some way, [Lord English] can 8e defeated forever.
...“in the hands”...
..."of a SKILLED MAGICIAN or a CUNNING PRANKSTER."
JOHN: i thought for sure i was a goner, when suddenly i poofed away from his tentacly grasp like houdini’s slippery ghost. later i rematerialized to seize the tactical advantage!
JOHN: i am like the ultimate prankster now… nanna would be so proud!
John is now both.
The level of foreshadowing and callbacks in Homestuck, retroactively or otherwise, never ceases to amaze me.
MY FRIEND IS PLAYING HERE FOR SWEET HEARTS AND IVE BEEN WATCHING! AND OH MY GOD THERES SO MUCH FORESHADOWING!!
BIG SPOILERS FOR HFSH AFTER THE CUT
SO!
THE WHOLE THING WITH NOVAS WHOLE GOAL BEING TO GET PEOPLE TO LIKE THEM, which is one of the more noticible. ALSO HOW IT CALLS BEFRIENDING A CHARACTER "Gaining their hearts"
UH BUT ALSO
NOVA EVEN SAYS THEY ARE A VAMPIRE!!!! (Though Theodore takes it as a joke, and the player likely does too)
LOOK AT THIS!!!
I mean I know Nova isnt royalty, but they are rich too.
THERES PROBABLY EVEN MORE IM FORGETTING.
GOSH I LOVE REPLAYING GAMES AND SEEING ALL THE FORESHADOWING!!!!!!!!!
EEEK!!!
(BTW shes only starting Ollies route today, so there isnt much ive seen so far, im sure ill notice even more the farther she gets into the game)
THE POOL SCENE THE POOL SCENE DEKE NO RUN AWAY
jackpot
The Enemy was published 15 years ago today! Wow! You should go and read it! Check out this scene for yourself! Nothing goes wrong!
One of the most underappreciated rewatch details in Across The Spider-Verse is that Gwen's opening narration hits completely differently once you know what's actually coming.
"His name is Miles Morales… and he's not the only one."
Is no one going to talk about how the shattered glass looks like Vanders teeth!? Is this a foreshadow of her ‘death’!?
subtle ways to include foreshadowing
one character knowing something offhandedly that they shouldn't, isn't addressed until later
the crow rhyme
colours!! esp if like, blue is evil in your world and the mc's best friend is always noted to wear blue...betrayal?
write with the ending in mind
use patterns from tragic past events to warn of the future
keep the characters distracted! run it in the background until the grand reveal
WEATHER.
do some research into Chekhov's gun
mention something that the mc dismisses over and over
KEEP TRACK OF WHAT YOU PUT. don't leave things hanging.
unreliable characters giving information that turn out to be true
flowers and names with meanings
anything with meanings actually
metaphors. if one character describes another as "a real demon" and the other turns out to be the bad guy, you're kind of like...ohhh yeahhh
anyways add anything else in the tags
when you're revising your document, rewriting where it needs, editing out-editing in, in the flow
and then suddenly you REALIZE
that you've fallen prey to the 'it's logical'-goblin that every writer knows that tricks you into believing that you've set up all the foreshadowing necessary because it all makes sense to YOU
but you realize with dawning horror
that you're not just the reader, you're also the writer
and so of course it makes sense if Character A is a cat for 20+ chapters, turns human for only 2 chapters and then has a full-on make-out session with Character B
it makes sense
because you wrote it
and the "it's-logical"-goblin told you that it's logical when you read it
because the logical-goblin is an effin' logical fallacy is what it is
and now i don't have enough foreshadowing
gfdi
DON'T TELL ME-
THEY'RE ABSOLUTELY NOT FORESHADOWING, RIGHT? RIGHT?!!!!!????
Foreshadowing - a warning or indication of a future event. In literature, it is when an author provides readers with hints or suggestions as to what will happen later in the story.
Foreshadowing can be used to create tension and set expectations as to how the story will play out. Can inspire reader emotions–suspense, unease, curiosity,
Types of Foreshadowing
Chekhov’s Gun The author states something that they want you to be aware of for the future - in the eponymous example, a gun hanging on the wall in an early chapter will be used later.
Prophecy A statement to character/ reader about what will happen in the future. Although sometimes unclear at first, they normally become true by the end.
Symbolism A more abstract way of foreshadowing, often shown through things like objects, animals, images and weather. Often foreshadows change in mood, luck or behaviour.
Flashback/Flashforward When the author needs the reader to know something that happened that doesn’t fit with the current timeline. Often there will be hints/clues for things that the writer wants you to remember/pick up on later.
Red Herring A type of foreshadowing that deliberately misleads the reader. False clues such as a character finding another suspicious, etc., may lead you to believe one thing when, in reality, they will have done nothing wrong
Tips and Tricks for Effective Foreshadowing!
Don’t foreshadow too obviously - signpost rather than state! Arouse suspicion, but keep them guessing!
If you make a promise, keep it!
The bigger the twist, the earlier it should be foreshadowed! Foreshadowing too soon is essentially a spoiler
Keep foreshadowing in moderation
Use beta-readers - sometimes our foreshadowing feels so obvious to us but it may not to other people who aren’t as close!
