"Awh, c'mon Gar. You can't just sulk around on your birthday!" Annie frowned at her longtime friend, who was just staring out the window with a blank yet solemn look.
A few moments passed before she perked up at the sound of a knock on the door. "Oh! I invited someone who'll cheer ya up. I know ya wanna meet em~" She tried grabbing Garcello's hand and tugging him away from his spot, but to no avail. "Ugh..Garcelloooo. Come with me or I'll make you chug one of my drinks!"
"Sorry, Annie. Not in the mood for any guests today."
"But-"
"Just tell 'em to give you the gift and leave." Eventually he freed himself from her grasp, taking out a cigarette pack and walking back into the kitchen.
It seemed dumb that the stress of someone just visiting was enough to make him desperate for a smoke. But he didn't care for any unwanted company right now.
Normally, he wouldn't be this gloomy...but there was someone who he wanted to see more than anyone else, especially on his birthday: You.
For a few months you two have been dating via long-distance. Telecommunication apps worked wonders, though of course Garcello yearned for the day he could finally meet you.
At the same time..he wasn't sure if you'd want to stay with him once you got to know the real him.
You always told him how much you loved and supported him. But he still had doubts about himself.

"Yeah totally! He's in the kitchen! I'll head out so you two can chill together."
Garcello nearly spat out his cigarette, not even having the chance to light it as he heard what sounded like your voice. He looked over and saw you with a suitcase and...

Once you locked eyes with him, you instantly smiled. Without any hesitation you put down your stuff and ran over to him, hugging him tightly. He did the same as well, at first still in utter disbelief.
"[Y/n]..? I-It's..really you?"
"The one and only! Happy birthday, Gar." You chuckled, pulling away to look at the teal-haired male. "Wowie, you're way more handsome in person! Has anyone ever told you....?"
Though you paused, realizing he was starting to cry. His hat did little to hide the tears as he laid his head on your shoulder, mumbling about how happy he was to finally see you.
You were actually here and he couldn't believe it! He didn't care about impressions right now; all of his previous doubts were thrown out the window when he realized you truly loved him.
Loved him so much that you didn't hesitate to rush into his arms and call a mess like him "handsome".
And as you hugged him once more, you knew you've given him the best gift of all:
