“Hey, Astro! Look what I found!”
Astro turned to see a beaming Dandy with an array of paint tubes and paint brushes in his hands, grinning ear-to-ear with excitement. Astro smiled. “Nice! But, uh, we don’t have any paper…” Dandy scoffed at his concerns, waving his hand flippantly. “Paper schmaper, we have a floor!” He exclaimed. Astro chuckled.
Soon enough, they were both sitting on the floor before a scape of paintings, mostly of each other with an occasional Pebble. Astro hummed under his breath as he painted, barely noticing his blanket had fallen from his shoulders and bunched around his waist. Usually he always kept his comfort item tightly wrapped around himself, but around Dandy he felt…safe.
Dandy didn’t seem to realize this, however, immediately alerting him once he’d noticed, “Oh! Hey, Astro, your blanket is-“ Astro looked up and blinked, snapped out of his thoughts. “Hm? Oh,” He gave a half-shrug, returning to his work, “That’s fine.” Dandy fell silent for a couple beats, then giggled mischievously, right before Astro felt the end of a brush slide across the spot between his shoulder blades. He jumped, letting out a startled squeak. “H-hey- what-!” The sensations continued, cold bristles dragging across his skin and leaving behind a glossy trail he recognized by texture as paint. “W-wahahait- eehehehe!” His shoulders shook as he laughed softly, his top set of hands reaching up to cover his growing smile. “Stay still, Astro! I’m trying to paint my masterpiece!” Dandy chimed in faux-annoyance, a giggle following the words when he watched the moon try his very best to stay still as requested…
…and fail, shoulders shooting up when the bristles brushed up against the back of his neck.
“Astrooo, c’mon! You can’t be that ticklish, can you?” He teased, swiping the brush across his mid-back. “Dahahandyhy!” Astro whined, his second set of hands hiding his flushed-red cheeks. Dandy paused a couple times to change paint colors, letting Astro steady his breathing for just a moment before the cold brush returned and he melted back into giggles.
“You’re sohoho meeaaan!” The moon complained, though his giddiness was quite evident in his tone. Dandy scoffed in ‘exasperation’. “Your fault for being so cute.” He retorted, grinning when Astro only went redder at the comment, squirming from both the embarrassment and the continuous light touches that now traced up and down his spine.
After what felt like hours, Dandy pulled away, setting his brush to the side and admiring his work. “Done!” He chimed proudly. Astro caught his breath, smile not leaving his face. “W-whahat did you- youhu pahahaint?” “Us hugging!!” Astro snorted, turning to face him with a soft amusement in his eyes. “You’re silly.”
“You love it!”
“…Yeah, I do.”
