You awoke to a raging headache, courtesy of your kidnappers’ heavy handed methods of knocking you out.

You struggled against the twine binding your wrists and ankles uselessly and tried to keep your breathing even. Panicking would make you more useless. You couldn’t see anything through the burlap sack they had tossed over your head, but you felt the hay lined cart you were sitting in rattle. It was hard to tell what direction you were heading in, but you hoped it wasn’t the lake. You paused, furrowing your brows and listening for the sound of frogs. When you instead heard the slow beating of what could only be a dragon’s wings, you realized that you probably had better chances with the lake than where you were actually headed.
