It's April 20th, 2025 that means it's not only Easter but it is the 26th Anniversary of the 1999 Columbine Highschool Shooting. This Day is a good day to reflect on how you treat others around you, what you say to other people, Your attitudes towards others and how you treat your fellow man.
The Shooting didn't happen out of nowhere, this is obvious. Everyone knows they were planning it because of how the school treated them or more so how other students on the more popular pedestal above them treated them.
Some Say they were Victims and yes they are, they're victims of Severe bullying. They had ketchup covered tampons thrown at them and they (allegedly) had a cup of feces thrown at them, not to mention the hurtful names they were called. (Such as the F slur) And they were Victims of a school system that didn't care for the well being of its students to a point that 13 innocent lives were taken and 2 more lives (of the Perpetrators) were also taken.
But are they victims? Of Severe bullying and a negligent school system? Yes but that doesn't mean they could do what they did and take 13 lives before ending themselves.
This School Shooting shows that how you treat others will likely affect others. People who are hurt will hurt other people and that's what happened at Columbine this day 26 years ago.
During this day, while you find pastel eggs, while you eat and celebrate with friends and with family try and reflect how you treat others. When was the last time you screamed at someone in your car? When's the last time you yelled at a fast food employee for getting your order wrong? When's the last time you said something nice to someone, or did something good that made someone happy?
