This version of the Master was more protective than some of his other regenerations
Ever since discovering the origins of Time Lords and the Timeless Child, he had become insecure, but he tried not to show it
He wanted one person, he just needed one, to love him wholeheartedly
Someone to touch him, hold him, praise him, care for him, just see him as a unique person and love him wholeheartedly
He wanted someone who wanted him as much as he wanted them
And then he found you
You were everything he wanted and more
But he convinced himself that, because who he was a lie, you would leave him and that was the last thing he wanted
You were the only thing he had that was good
This caused The Master to be more protective over you than if you were just a random companion
He didn’t like you walking, adventuring, or living alone - not because he didn’t trust you, but because he didn’t trust other people
His hand would either be holding yours or be placed firmly on your back when the two of you are out together
However, he enjoyed whenever you would link arms with him
Under extreme circumstances, he would drag you by one of your shoulders away from whomever he didn’t like
The longer your relationship with The Master would grow, the more protective he will become
During his dark times, he would refuse to let you leave his TARDIS, but that would usually only last for a couple of day until The Drums quieted themselves
If you ever insisted on staying on Earth for a bit, he would stay with you
He would consider putting trackers in your devices for a long time
The only thing that would make him reconsider doing this is the fact that you are incredibly loyal
One day, while adventuring, you do get kidnapped by a group of people who wanted revenge against The Master
Upon finding you again, The Master violently tortured and killed all of the members of the group
He carried you back to his TARDIS, cared to any wounds you might have had and the two of you took a warm bath together before cuddling all night
The next day, he placed extreme protective measures all over his Tardis and over your home on Earth
The Master didn’t leave your side for the next month, and he wouldn’t let you leave his ship for even longer
You literally had to beg The Master into leaving The TARDIS
And you had to promise that you would only visit you family and friends and to not leave your house for any other reason - except to maybe go grocery shopping
But he definitely started tracking your movements
You knew about this, though, and understood why he believed that he had to go to those measures
The Master would force you to stand behind him if the two of you ever encountered The Doctor
The Master would eventually force you to return to his TARDIS, if the encounter with The Doctor lasted too long, because he didn’t want The Doctor to even think about stealing you away from him
If The Doctor did ever manage to ‘kidnap’ you, The Master would be on a warpath until he found you again
This routine would happen for a while until The Doctor eventually understood that you and The Master loved each other, and The Master hadn't done anything threatening towards you
She still kept a watchful eye on the two of you, but was happy to see her old friend in love and with someone who cared for him
The Master just wanted you to feel safe and be safe
He didn’t want his past or the people he would sometimes associate himself with to get in the way of your relationship, your opinion of him, or your safety.
He knew that he could sometimes be extreme in his efforts to protect you, but he just wanted you to know how much he loved you and appreciated you and wanted to care for you

Sorry if some things might be a bit ooc, here are just some thoughts I’ve had if The Master was simping. Also, this is my first time writing headcanons, so I hope that you enjoy them. I’m going to post the protectiveness part in a different post, I’ll link it here. I can add to this later if I have more ideas.

The Master was first apprehensive about cuddling
Of course, he had cuddled people, and you, before but that was usually as a part of an aftercare routine
He had never cuddled just to cuddle to his recollection
He also thought that this would ruin his reputation
Falling in love with you was bad enough, he couldn’t let anyone find out that he stooped to cuddling
You assured him that this would just be something private between the two of you
And to inflate his ego a bit, you expressed that you just wanted to feel closer to him, to have all of his attention on you, to feel fully consumed by his presence
He was still sceptical and refused, but said that he would think about it
You hoped that if you praised him enough, he would eventually cuddle you
But you ended up not having to wait that long
The Master suddenly got sick with some weird space cold after an adventure and he demanded that you cuddle him to warm him up
You obviously teased him about the quick turnaround, but gladly cuddled him in the little cocoon nest of blankets and pillows he had created on his extravagant bed
Since then, he always wanted to cuddle and would claim any excuse just to hold you at any point in time
This regeneration was touchier than some of his previous regenerations
He would find any excuse to touch you
He always seemed to be playing with your hair or running a hand up and down your body or subconsciously picking at your fingers
Now, while cuddling, he found that he was able to fiddle with parts of you with more ease
He also relished in the feeling of having you play with his hair or scratching his beard
He loved being touched and held by you, just having all of your attention fully on him
He loved spooning you or any position where he was holding you
The Master’s favourite cuddling position is hold you tightly against his chest
He preferred to have one of his arms around your shoulders and neck and the other wrapped around your waist and his legs tangled up with yours - basically trapping you against him because he doesn’t want you to leave (the cuddle session or him, in general)
He loves when you sleep on his chest, over his hearts - he took pride in the fact that his heart beats calm you down
The Master wanted to feel like he was a good protector to you
He also loved feeling you on top of him - either straddling him and massaging and caressing him or just fully laying on top of him - again, he just likes having your full attention
Along with that, he loves reading to you when cuddling or when you wear something of his when cuddling - The Master likes knowing that you are his and you want to be in his presence
Because of The Drums in his head and the history of Gallifreyans, he is sometimes insecure about the things that make him obviously a Time Lord, but he is always comforted by your love and acceptance of him
The Master didn’t talk about The Drums as much, in comparison to his other regenerations, but they still affected him greatly and he would always find you when they would get bad
He preferred to be the one cuddled during these moments
He didn’t really care about the position, but he wanted to feel safe and wanted
But if you were to give him head scratches or even beard scratches, he would be putty in your hands and feel like the most loved and powerful person in the Multiverse
When The Drums were particularly bad or he was stressed or completely tired out, he would just flop on top of you and expect you to curl yourself around him and rub his back and play with his hair until he fell asleep
Bonus points if you whispered praises and sweet nothings in his ear while he was drifting off to sleep
Call him a good Master
Tell him that no one will compare to him, that you will never want anyone else, and you will always stay with him
Tell him that you are his and all will be
He needs to be reassured that he’s good for you and that you still want him sometimes, especially when the Drums are loud, and they bring back horrible memories of his time on Gallifrey
The Master is not above manipulating you into staying with him longer
He will often accuse you of “not loving him anymore” and that’s why you want to leave the cuddle session
Your reason could be as logical as needing to use the restroom or needing to get food or needing to take a shower, and The Master would still use that claim
Eventually, he would become fearful of you dying and see enough reason to, momentarily, halt the cuddle session for you to do all of the Human stuff you need to do
The Master would follow you to wherever you need to go, though.
If you were going to the kitchen to make food, The Master would hug you from behind as you cooked and then make you sit on his lap while you ate
He would eventually have his TARDIS attach small kitchens to your rooms, so the two of you could rejoin the cuddle pile as soon as possible
If you had to go to the bathroom, you would run there after The Master released his grip on you - and then lock him out of the bathroom because you know from previous experiences that he would follow you into the room and it would just be awkward
If you were going to take a bath or shower, you learned that it was just better to allow him to join you
Where The Master would go back and forth from soft and cuddly to suggestive and touchy really quickly
Cuddle sessions with The Master could be completely innocent, or could be a gateway to something sexual, if you were okay with it
Sometimes it would be a mix of both (again if you are comfortable with it) and the two of you would telepathically pleasure each other or you would cockwarm him
Because Time Lord biology is different than Humans, he doesn’t have as high of a libido, but he just loves you so much and just wants to be as close to you as possible
The Master also just loved knowing that he is the only person able to please you and give you so much pleasure and bliss
If you ever got hurt on an adventure, The Master would not let you leave your bed for a while
Post adventure cuddles were always interesting. They could go one of two ways:
Either, The Master would initiate an incredibly possessive cuddle session, which would lead to rough and possessive sex
Or The Master would sweetly hold you tightly and tell you all the things he loved about you and how much you changed his view on life and how much he never wanted to lose you
The Master loves you; he cares for you; The Master wants to see you happy, and hopes that you want to see him happy, too
Since being introduced to your cuddles, holding you and being held by you became one of the top ways the two of you expressed your love for each other
