7. Carolina Wren (Thryothorus ludovicianus)
The Carolina Wren has recently become a favorite of mine. They have such an immediately recognizable song that will never fail to get me to look out the closest window when I hear it. Today, one even decided to take a seat in one of my plant pots for a bit, I wonder if she's looking for a place to nest!

Very small, and very very round. Some days the wrens here look more sphere than bird. That's part of their charm!
