Okay, so I was trying something new with the coloring. I was using flat colors (as in unblended colors) to represent lighting, though I blended the colors in his eye. I rather quite liked how this piece turned out. It's pretty in a messy way. But poor Siffrin isn't having a great time at all! They're really not fine. Anyhow! As I was working on this drawing, at some point, I thought that the color layer looked rather quite......well, creepy. I'll be adding a screenshot I took while I was working on that below along with a second version of the original drawing. The second version is where I used my colorless blender tool on my base colors since I figured that would work out well. If I continue blending colors, I'd like to have both versions to see what I need to do as a reference, you know.
You should be able to click on the individual images to see them on a bigger scale.
Yeah, I wasn't kidding when I said the color layer looks very creepy. Anyhow, the blending on the second version turned out quite nice, I think. It added a lot of depth to the hair, but I had a lot of trouble with rest of Frin's body. The face was the most difficult for me to blend. The marker kept running into parts of the drawing I did not want it to touch!
By the way, if you happen to be one of the few people following me, I'm sorry because I have a bunch of drawing saved up that I'm posting today. Sorry about the post overload that's about to happen. On that note, I doubt I'll put too much writing on those posts because it would exhausting to do that much writing in such a short timeframe. Bye!
