I haven't written in a ridiculously long time. While some find solace losing themselves in hidden diaries, only for your eyes to read,I, on the other hand have come to fear the blank page. Yet, I am in awe of the kind of experience writing offers. How things that didn't make sense kind of sort of still don't make sense but atleast you had a place to vent,right?

Or how when you finally find the courage to put pen to paper things finally feel better than they seem.

Our love is big. Bigger and brighter than a whole room with a bunch of fireflies. It irradiates life and ourselves collide to be one. How beautiful, how sweet, how tender it is to share all i am with a soul like yours. — she wrote and sealed it with a kiss.

How beautiful it all is when you want it to be beautiful. I can't think of a joyful life when love doesn't take first place.

Caring for someone, loving their madness, sharing sunsents, having debates or discussions but also sharing the first cup of water-coffee-tea-juice or whatever it is together knowing that the messy life is to be shared with the significant other.

Loneliness doesn't feel like is consuming the best of you anymore but partnership brings you a little light - a very bright one- in the way. There's no room for a perfect partner but for a lover that is willing to share and to grow, and to care, and to give you shelter.

A mess, a frustration, a fear and even loneliness can collide to love, for love. That's the way it is for me. Love,

Non/fiction: "Человек, который бережет время" с иллюстрациями от Franziska Walther

  Я давно не писала о книгах, которые очень люблю, могу часто просматривать и не скучать. Но тут, раз так вышло, что я не пропустила книжную ярмарку Non/fiction – расскажу об одной своей находке с небольшого стенда немецкой литературы. Её автор Курт Тухольский, еврейский писатель довоенного времени. Книга на немецком, датирована 1912 годом, никакая не детская, а самая взрослая книга-гротеск. Уточняю я это потому, что еще ни разу не видела подобно проиллюстрированную художественную книгу и тем более не автора-современника. Сделала это совсем молодая девушка-иллюстратор Франциска Вальтер (Franziska Walther), и я, нужно сказать, очень впечатлена этой находкой. Еще её формат и обложка создают ощущение, что ты только что взял её по абонементу в библиотеке.

Я уже писала о том, как сильно люблю иллюстрированные детские книги. В каждом путешествии у меня есть пункт, обязательный для выполнения, – поход в книжный магазин. Там возле стеллажей с детской литературой про меня можно забыть на час, а то и больше. Я долго всё разглядываю и выбираю, но уже дома, среди коллекции самых-самых у меня появляются свои фавориты. Такие, о которых не забываешь после двух-трех просмотров, а постоянно возвращаешься, чему-то учишься, а чем-то просто восхищаешься. Вот такой фаворит у меня сейчас книга с иллюстрациями Anton Van Hertbruggen из Антверпена. Очень нежной палитрой и массой ручных деталей он создает удивительный сказочный мир.

Maybe somewhere peaceful and quaint, I thought to myself one hot and humid Thursday afternoon. It was when Gel unexpectedly sent me a picture of her dream apartment, one of those dainty picture-perfect studios with a loft. She always mentioned that she wanted to live somewhere sub-urban, in a tiny flat with heaps of house plants, a plethora of art framed on the walls, and an abundance of yellow accents. I must say though, it all suits her hermit crab-like personality very well ㅎㅎㅎ.

I’ve always had this dream that one day, when I’ve earned enough, I’m going to move to a place far from the city. It could be because I’ve only lived in the Metro all my life, and it’s safe to say that I’m tired of all the hustle, bustle, and the extreme lack of fresh air. [cue in AB6IX: I wanna breathe, just set me free~] Still and all, I’ve always admired the beauty of nature way more than man-made structures anyway, the scenery of the countryside makes me feel a wave of comfort and healing. I greatly enjoy shows that are set in the province too; simple, slow-paced, yet immensely refreshing. It makes me feel a lot calmer, like I can breathe better, you know? 

Thinking of more reasons took me to a time when I was much younger. I realized that I have plenty of delightful memories associated with the scene. My family used to visit our grandma’s house in the province; we would always go once or twice a year and I always had waaaay too much fun. I remember sprinting away from the chickens and ducks in the backyard, picking rice grains at the farm with my cousins, running through the vast open-field, and jealously watch my older cousins lay down in a heaping pile of hay. (my mom wouldn’t let me because she said there might be poisonous snakes and rats, boo no fun!)

Perhaps my numero uno goal is to live each day simply and happily. I’m not really the type of person who wants to attain so much money, power, or hoard material things. Maybe this seems way too idealistic, but I just want to live a quaint life with my family and do the things I love everyday. Do art, see galaxies at night, grow my own produce, have at least 3 dogs, and maybe own a neighborhood cafe too! It all sounds like a great plan. ☺

ESOTERIC DUMPSTER VOL. 1 ISSUE # 2: SECOND SNOW

This week, I am going on a school trip to New York City. It will be my second time on a plane in my life and my second time seeing snow since West Virginia. It will also be the longest time I have spent away from home, and the farthest, save for the hot and hellish California trip of sophomore year.

My half-sister was getting married then, and already I have four nephews between her and my other two half-siblings. I remember being in line for the bathroom at the warmly lit and wine-fueled reception, standing with the groom while my sister was in the bathroom. I asked what was in his vape and he said "Tobacco." and offered me a hit. I had never taken anything before, mild or hard. In that moment, I grew up.

I was one of the big kids, a peer, and it felt good. The dry heat felt good. Leaning against a table, talking about the closet with a new cousin who emerged from the woodwork felt good. For a few minutes, everything felt good. My sister turned The Smiths on for me and made me dance. I was awkward, but it felt good.

I am constantly hit hard in the face by the fact that I will never be like them, my half-siblings. Never as old, never as straight. Eyes not dark enough. Haven't been hurt enough. They had it harder than I did growing up, and I am grateful that they tamed my father before I had to be alive under his roof.

They lived first so I didn't have to wonder whether I would flounder and drown in my adulthood because everyone does. I remember, when I observe their lives that success is simply happiness. They are very successful now.

Jumping forward in my Time-Traveling Dumpster to the present day, I am nervous for the trip. Anxious that my friends will see me tear up in front of Caravaggio's "Musicians" or when I see my dad in Central Park for a moment, and he asks me what he did wrong, and tells me that he loves me, even though my art teacher knows more of my life than he ever did.

A friend told me recently that getting over people is forgiveness. His mother left his family and died two years later in a car crash on a stretched Nevada highway. He seemed genuine, but he could have just been high.

I don't have much else to say, so here are some recent photos of the town, with more from New York en route to my digital camera come Thursday.

ESOTERIC DUMPSTER VOL. 1, ISSUE #1: "CALM BEFORE THE STORM"

***POSTING LATE IT IS OFFICIALLY 2025 NOW but everything I said still stands. It is Monday, October 7th, and I've been consuming copious amounts of archived ROOKIE magazine posts because with the dying leaves, (and, cough cough, HURRICANE MILTON) an overwhelming nostalgia has really kicked in, as well as anticipation for my last trick-or-treat-able Halloween. This may only be on my mind because my little brother is turning 16 in a few days, but I feel like everybody makes a big deal about turning 16 and 18 without considering how damn weird it feels to be 17. Seventeen is like a placeholder for a future you can't have yet. Seventeen is antsy to be an adult and also scared shitless that it won't be a kid for much longer. Seventeen takes blurry, desperate pictures on ancient digital cameras to stretch single moments into fascinations. Seventeen takes its time. It doesn't want to be over this soon. Seventeen is a liminal space we are happy to dwell in for as long as we can before we realize the cotton candy, knit sweater POVs that "Perks" sold us, while beautifully iterated, are not true. We are not infinite in these bodies. Some of us don't have friends magically appear on the first day of freshman year, like Charlie. The Rocky Horror Picture Show might as well be lost media at this point, and good cinema like it might as well be replaced by artificially scripted, acted, and animated movies. Here I am wondering why we're so nostalgic and lost-feeling at seventeen, but the answer actually seems obvious. There is nothing organically good on the horizon for us- AI movies might be the headcanon for the younger generation of suckers who didn't ask to be born. World War Three might not make anyone bat an eyelash. We cling to the past because it was creative and real, and there's something missing from our lives now that we seek to fill with empty content. I'm rambling, I realize that. It's a beautiful night tonight, the sunset was spectacular. The air is cooling, the clouds are dark but removed. This is the "calm before the storm". So, here's few photos of me and my friends yesterday night as we swam at the beach and hung around a lifeguard chair in a subtle, unconscious attempt to make ourselves infinite while we still have the chance, before a storm both literal and figurative. What is ISO in Photography?

ISO is one of the three fundamental pillars of photography, alongside aperture and shutter speed. It refers to the sensitivity of your camera's sensor to light. Strolling around is the best way of authentic experiences

Soo… Rome, what a place! Except from all the super nice and sweet tourist sightseeing that you can do such as the Colosseum, Vatican City, St. Peter's Square, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia, The Sistine Chapel, Roman Forum, the Spanish Steps and much much more, it is always nice to get away from the crowded tourist mass and find your own escapes! We believe in local culture and finding the unshaped pearls of every city and create your own experiences. A lot like "oh what did you do in Rome, this time? Did you see the Colosseum? - No, actually not, but we strolled around in the Testaccio area south from it, and took a food tour…"

Testaccio is a great place to find amazing restaurants, cafés and bars. It's a little neighborhood that introduce you to the city that loves to eat high qualitative, local produced and fresh meals. Cantina & Cucina the perfect place to rest your feet and legs after a long day of walking. There they serve the most easiest but deliciouses dishes, and specially hipster love this place. For vegetarians in Rome are really in heaven, since almost every restaurant has a vegetarian friendly menu, and Cantina & Cucina as well, with super fresh and delicious vegetable. Otherwise a good carbonara is always a great carbonara.

So if you travel to Rome, please visit the Testaccio region and find your own authentic experiences in the local neighborhoods, whereas the real Rome shows itself.

Interrailing is all about finding new destinations and spots where you can soak up as much new culture as possible. The Brera district in central Milan is really a spot like the ones you are searching for! Strolling around finding second-hand markets, restaurants, cafés while enjoying the sun and the atmosphere makes this a great place visiting!

See and eat seafood that you’ve never seen before!

The lagoon city has a long and glorious culinary tradition based on fresh seafood. A writhing, glistening variety of sea creatures swims from the stalls of the Rialto and Chioggia markets into local kitchens. Going with the flow ofla cucina veneta requires a certain spirit of openminded experimentation. Not everybody has eaten granseola (spider crab) before, or garusoli (sea snails) or canoce (mantis shrimps), but Venice is definitely the place to try these marine curios.
