Clarified: this scene is the one where Dr. Meridith is showing the remaining half of banana fish to Eiji, Ibe, and Shorter.

Ok maybe I'm wrong but in the banana fish anime, season 1 ep 4, roughly 9:20 seconds in, Ibe asks "what is it" and Eiji responds "it's what the man that was killed handed to Ash" but when would Eiji have been told that??? We've seen every interaction they've had so far and this hasn't had a reason to come up. (Unless I've forgotten something-) HOW DOES HE KNOW ASH GOT IT FROM THAT GUY WHO DIED????

I haven't read the manga in a minute but does it make more sense there and/or happen differently? I own physical copies but I wanna know if anyone else has caught this or if I've just missed something in the first three episodes

The most interesting thing about Ash and Yut-Lung's relationship to me is the potential that never got realized and the regrets that may come from that.

They were so alike and could have helped each other but that didn't happen. Instead Yut-Lung teamed up with Dino and tried to ruin Ash's life out of petty jealousy. And I have a lot of sympathy for Yut-Lung and I know why he logically would choose to side with an already established powerful person if he wanted his brothers out of the way, and I know how his bitterness toward Ash and Eiji comes from how hurt he's been in the past. But he still did those things and kept going after Ash despite how he'd done basically nothing to him.

And the thing is that Yut-Lung gets to survive. He has Sing who cares about him and wants him to do better. And I wonder if in the future, when he's older and a potentially more sensitive person, if he has regrets. Does he think about how he could've had someone else who would understand him and maybe even care about him? Does he regret burning that bridge before he even noticed it was there?

Simply put, so much could have happened but none of it did and that's the tragedy of it all.

I had to do so many drafts for this it's ridiculous. (Tell me if you want a speed paint of my struggle I guess-)

Not that this hair blocks his line of sight any more than his normal hair, but the ONE STRAND! He looks the other direction and is almost blinded by that one strand.

Everyone is right about Chaos 101 lol, but here are two series.

1. "A Gang Leader as a Professor? It's More Likely than You Think" by "awesomecookies"

Words: 80,722 Works: 9 - "Just a couple of people, meeting the peculiar Mr. Aslan Jade Callenreese, and his mysterious photographer friend, Eiji Okumura. Read the different perspectives they have in life and perhaps even love which they learn along with meeting the strange duo" - Outsider POV of AshEiji where they both made it out. It's cute, and while the POV characters don't often understand the full extent of what they are witnessing, the reader does. Some NSFW fics, tagged as such, and the rest are cute!

2. "Eight Million Gods" by "Dodici"

Words: 128,003 Works: 6 - "Pushing my Ash-lives-in-Japan agenda." - Ash is struggling with his new life in Japan and is trying to believe he can recover... But it's hard. I find the last two fics are my favorite. We watch Ash make decisions that are so logical and sound to him but are just not how normal people work. The humor is perfect and the heartfelt moments real.

And just as everyone is recommending Chaos 101 generally, I would recommend Dodici generally too, although I don't know how many of their fics are set post cannon.
