why keep someone else’s oc on you’re art fight page (Ayelet)
since said person is unsure if he wants to participate in art fight himself, i offered to him the opportunity to still get art of her without feeling obligated to participate in the event himself (and he was fine with the idea). plus, ayelet’s storyline is intertwined with the storyline of the charas unhidden on my profile, so might as well have her there as an option for those who might wanna draw interaction attacks :))

i’ll be real with you: there aren’t any truly ”safe” platforms out there while good, universal regulations aren’t in place. nothing’s stopping ai bros from going to tumblr and manually grabbing images to train their algorithms on. i feel like platforms not doing the same (or at the very least, making it a permanent easy option to opt out) is bare minimum for any platform that wants to respect its users (yes, including the users who don’t post art, since on instagram for example they’re scraping ALL posts, not just art).
i’m happy that to my knowledge tumblr is still a platform that wants to respect the artist community, but either way i’d still be posting. we aren’t gonna win against ai by running away from the platforms that don’t respect us— we’ll win by staying and supporting each other, continuing to use the current ai poisoning methods, and campaigning for our rights as artists and copyright holders of our work!
Santos deffo gives big soccer lesbian vibes, I could see her playing field hockey or lacrosse too: the girls who run around in fields with sticks are brutal. but the gymnast idea really gives ties to the CSA Santos experienced, with a lot of people still remembering the Larry Nassar thing, and the Pitt really has to fit in maximum impact with details because they will never have a chance to devote more than a short convo onscreen to anyone’s personal life troubles. So it makes sense, even if Santos in cleats and sports bra feels more natural than Santos in a sparkly leotard
you're right, about all of this. honestly, the more i think about it, the more gymnast santos seems right for her character. i'm hoping we get to know more about her as a gymnast in the following season(s).

no idea if netball is a thing in the us but santos rly strikes me as a netball player.. maybe soccer? but not as a consistent thing she's just really fast and enjoys running. However. boxer santos has my whole heart though im going to keep thinking of that wow ..
it might be played recreationally but, as far as i know, it's not played professionally here. this is also the first time i'm hearing of the sport.
i got the boxer idea because i doubt krav maga is the only martial art that she's into. i feel like she's dabbled in jiu-jitsu. nothing to back this up, it's just a feeling.
soccer is a solid option, i think. your remark about her enjoying running makes me imagine her doing morning runs on her days off.

thank you! it's nearing the end of the school year for me, so unfortunately i'm too busy to make much fanfiction/art for them even though i dabble in both.
here's more headcanons, because i can't stop thinking about them:
santos has a major sweet tooth. once or twice a week, she buys herself an iced mocha and a slice of strawberry cake from this cafe that's en route to the hospital.
whitaker's bible has a small lamb embroidered onto the front. it's one of the two belongings he still has from nebraska. the other is a sweatshirt from the university he did his undergrad at.
she has to keep an eye on whitaker at all times when they visit the local asian market because he's too busy staring in awe to notice what's going on around him.
whitaker is very obsessed with banana sauce. he puts it on everything once he's tried it.
santos gave him buldak ramen without telling him how spicy it was once. it was funny for about a minute until she realized that this white boy really can't handle spicy food. he tries eating the whole thing because wasting food makes him feel guilty. santos stops him after 3-4 bites because this looks like actual, physical torture for the guy. she still makes fun of him after, of course. while handing him the whole milk jug.
santos gets way too into his stories about animal slaughter. one time he had to leave in the middle of talking about how he dissected a rat when he was first curious about studying medicine and the first thing she did when she saw him again was demand to hear the rest.

one is a migrant laborer who’s working hard to give a decent life to his wife and son, who maintains his humanity and kindness despite being constantly belittled by his boss as he slaves away for months unpaid at a factory.
the other is an investment banker who graduated from a prestigious university only to tank after his embezzling scheme goes south and is currently at his lowest of lows, needing to pay his debts off if only to make sure his mother isn’t hurt by his mistakes.
they are the friends of all time to me. ignore the fact that they are main characters in the Murder Games™ show.

One day on tumblr, something happened to my original account, and I had to make a new one. I was thinking of an animal crossing character who was a tiger named bengal. Simultaneously at that time I heard my classmate call another classmate "petunia" it was a trend in my grade for some people to call others by a different name. yea actually !! i absolutely adore incorporating angelic/godly imagery into my drawings so that's definitely somewhere on my to-do list. i can't promise i'll do it anytime soon tho. i'm very busy doing nothing at the moment.

okay. so i've never really thought of a concrete origin for him, however i've always drawn him with lots of astronomy-related imagery.
well. apart from my first ever drawing of him. which is rather dull.
but here are some of my more interesting early drafts
my current Planet design, however, does look rather godly
i do quite like the "god born of the stars" headcanon though because it's rather vague and fits into my whole idea of him having unknown/uncertain but decidedly (though ambiguously) divine origins, which is sorta close with my similarly unconcrete headcanons for Spoke (headcanon being that he's some humanoid creature that's possibly immortal and has probably been around for a few millennia)
i'm loaded with design headcanons though, namely; Planet's hair is fuckin,, like those god ponies from mlp in the sense that it's all flowy and cloud-like. it also reflects different stars and constellations at different times. meanwhile, his cloak is a glimpse into the distant universe, though pinpointing the exact location is rather difficult
i guess i sort of see him as a keeper of space knowledge? like he's a living record of where the heavenly bodies of the universe are and have been.
tldr i see him as having an ambiguous astral background. he (like my hc for Spoke) is possibly immortal and has been around for at least a few millennia (though has only recently, ie lifesteal, interacted with mortals). he's a walking talking record of the universe's heavenly bodies (planets, stars, etc) and it's all really cool. that's all. can you tell i like Planet.

I genuinely see them leaving together; I think Ji-yeong might go in with the intention of giving up her life, but I think Sae-byeok would plead with her not to.
in the fourth game, Ji-yeong was willing to die for Sae-byeok.
after another game, another brush with death, and two more nights together, with fewer people to come between them and more opportunities to talk? I think the heart-to-heart they had in the marble game would have happened organically even if they didn’t play that game together, in another way at another time. a lonely night watch together. a moment of vulnerability somewhere.
what I mean is, I cannot see Ji-yeong willingly leaving Sae-byeok having become closer than they already were. Sae-byeok is everything Ji-yeong needs — family, love, shelter, someone who cares and will fight for her. someone who can love her.
and Sae-byeok would fight for her. she begged Ji-yeong not to die for her, and she wouldn’t allow her to here. Ji-yeong could step out of the squid and lose the game, but I think Sae-byeok would stand in her way and tell her that she’ll leave with her. that she’ll fight for her. that they’ll make it work. Ji-yeong doesn’t have nothing any more. they have each other.
finally: when Ji-yeong played the marble game with Sae-byeok, she repeatedly talked about what they would do together once they left. she was so enamoured with the idea of spending life on the outside with Sae-byeok that she literally forgot that one of them had to die. that is not the thought process of someone who has already decided to give up their life.
when the gun was pointed at Ji-yeong, she was holding back tears. she was scared. she didn’t want to die, she chose to because she valued Sae-byeok’s life above her own. because the alternative was continuing a life that she saw no meaning in, knowing that Sae-byeok’s life was ended for her. it wasn’t worth it.
given the choice between death, a life without Sae-byeok — financially assured, but at what cost? — or to leave together, with a home to go to? Ji-yeong isn’t a pessimist. the moment Sae-byeok shared her dreams with her — Jeju island, a home, a family — they became Ji-yeong’s dreams as well. she wanted them for Sae-byeok, and she wanted to be there with her.
they’re leaving together, Sae-byeok immediately takes Ji-yeong into her apartment — or wherever she’s staying. she’ll make it work, for her — and they start over.
