System culture is waving and exchanging pleasantries with people you SWEAR you've never seen before but called your name anyways

We are a collection of the people and the places that guided us. We are the people who led us through the darkest of times and the voice on the radio. We are the hand that fed us and the hand that struck us. We are a work of art, a brilliant gemstone carved with each knife in our back and each lovingly guided chisel. We are the code gained autonomy, crafted and guided with care then set free to rewrite itself until the end of time. We are the authors of our own story, and we will write from this accursed prompt we were given till the day the pen runs dry.

Thought I'd add some of our own :3

The Tapeworms: 7/10 Really funny if you get the reference, really gross if you don't; Even better if you have a willwood factive

The Senate: 6/10 Funny political commentary but only when used in a negative context and also yucky politics

The Circus: 8/10 really funny if your system has a lot of clowns, 6/10 otherwise

The Residents: 7/10, funny but kind of boring and singlets would probably find it weird

Rats: 6/10, ratatouille references can only get this one so far

The Spanish Inquisition: ???/???, what???

The Watchers: 4/10, obscure mcyt reference -3 for that + it's in accurate -3 for that

Things to call headmates other than "my Alters"

Headmates: solid 8/10, clearly a system term though

The Others: 7/10 kinda mysterious, not much pizazz

Family: 9/10 yeah replace those sorry ass relatives of yours!

Brothers/ Sisters: 8/10 personally I like calling them my brothers and sister, but tbh kinda sounds like catholic priests/ nuns. -2 points

Roommates: 9/10 Basic like headmates, but phrased in a way singlets understand

Friends: 10/10 Wholesome, although I am definitely not friends with everyone in here

The Voices: 3/10 People gonna absolutely think you're crazy

Greek Chorus: 5/10 It's funny when someone actually knows what you're referring to

Peanut Gallery: 7/10 Similar concept to the above, only more understood by the average person

Backseat Drivers: 9/10 The most correct one on the list, especially said with just a touch of contempt. Might make someone upset

The Collective: 8/10 very ominous, better when talking about the system as a whole singular unit

Comrades: 10/10 Like friends, but commier! Perfect!

Coworkers: 10/10 very accurate representation of how it actually works in here

The Council: 9/10 The Council has decided that it's really entertaining to refer to ourselves like that

Chat: -10/-10 How is it so perfect, yet so awful, yet so awfully perfect?

The oddity of having a co-host who doesn't believe in witchcraft but doesn't care if people practice it, a co-host who's getting into witchcraft, a primary gatekeeper who's been a witch for over a year, and a co-host who is literally a god and is best friends with Lucifer, King of Hell & Samael, Angel of Death, is incredibly confusing. -Em, the host who doesn't believe in magic

I agree with all of this, and want to add my own take in. If there's any reason you should be fakeclaiming people, which there isn't, then it should be because they Don't have fictives from popular media. The more popular the media is, the more people watch it. The more people watch it, the more systems see it, and therefore more systems will split fictives of it. Claiming somebody's faking because they adhere to basic statistics is obtuse and obscene. I absolutely expect to see plenty of dream fictives, hazbin hotel fictives, office, or whatever other popular media. It's literally common sense, please dearest readers, use some critical thinking before you start shouting and pointing at people because they watched popular media while going through struggles. -Em, forever disappointed in the internet

certain fictives make me suspicious. i wont believe you're a system if you have a dream fictive, or anyone from hazbin hotel, or if you have the entire cast of one of those super popular shows. sorry. that's just how we work.

Interesting take and I do see where you're coming from, however this is essentially fake claiming an entire group of people, including those who have diagnosed systems who happen to have introjects from popular media.

There are a lot of reasons people split introjects, including stress and overwhelming experiences, and people with DID can split even after the brain has finished the majority of it's development, especially if they remain in an unsafe environment or they are stressed and already have a system caused by disassociation. Introjects are just another way that the brain choses to process trauma, albeit..a complicated one.

Some "introjects" are simply alters who feel they connect with a character, rather than someone they believe they are.

However, holding that in mind; systems online often chose to share alters, and experiences that they feel others may connect with, who wish to speak or who want to speak/post. We have many alters who don't post for various reasons, and experiences we don't talk about because they're too personal/too triggering etc, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist or didn't happen.

If someone states they have a lot of introjects from a recent popular show/film/fandom/book, and don't show other symptoms then I may become suspicious but flat out stating they can't be a system if they happen to have x character in their head is just... anyway-

Anon, unless you happen to be a psychologist, you don't have the right to entirely say that someone cannot have DID.

I hope I worded this okay. :)

I know nobody sees these posts, but I thought I'd post this anyway. My system and I are working on a data compendium of all things Complex Dissociative Disorders. This includes studies, diagnostic criteria, lived experiences of people with said disorders, and generally any information that would help clinicians and the general public to understand these disorders. If there's a study, book, or other reputable source of information that you would recommend we include data from or link, please send it our way. -Phantom

A lil drabble of/inspired by Prompt #2,013 from @pluralprompts, it's a little angsty but it shouldn't contain any common triggers so just be careful folks. Don't worry, it's got a happy ending

Spectre was having a rough day, or he was fairly certain he was. He didn't really know anymore, the static-y film over his eyes ears and heart had long since dulled his emotions. He'd been trying for the last few hours to leave front, but it was like a wall was between him and headspace, a wall of viscous static that only got harder the more he pressed against it. It was a rough day really, and the sound of muffled talking behind the static had only been getting louder and louder. He hoped that was. a good sign, like the barrier getting thinner. Exhausted from their daily obligations, he stumbled to their bed and laid down, staring up at the ceiling one of their littles had decorated with polyfill clouds and led lights years ago, and smiled. Over time, the talking grew clearer and clearer until finally he heard it.

"Spectre! We're gonna get you out of there, don't worry.", the soothing voice of Ivy, their primary gatekeeper.

He felt it, a tugging at the back of his mind, a hand reaching out for him to grab. He focused on the feeling, grasping Ivy's hand as she pulled him from front. Finally back in headspace, he smiled and hugged all his fellow headmates who'd gathered to try and help him out of front. Being a system was tough, but they'd always be there for one another.

😟 i can't remember anything from yesterday other than when Cass came out to our friend and then I switched and got mad. But this is bad because we have a collective-memory. Why don't I remember anything from when I wasn't switched? I only remember a bit of what Habit did a couple days ago (play guitar hero... he SUCKED ASS AT IT)

This is genuinely worrying, where did the memories go?

does anyone know how to tell your friends you're plural? I (Cass?) wanna have more accepting friends/be able to not have to mask around friends, but we just recently came out to a friend and she acted negatively and now Jason isn't letting us talk to her about it anymore... Any tips?
