Sigil Crafting

Sigils were the first magic I ever learned. As an artist, symbolism and aesthetic are things that are incredibly important to me. I have used multiple ways of crafting sigils, but I have created my own personal way of creating sigils using a method writers have used in poetry- the stream of consciousness technique.

I put my pen to paper, call upon what I wish to make a sigil about, and let the pen create what I need.

Sigil Crafting

These are the sigils that I use the most frequently (you may use them if you wish).

You may notice that my sigils in the form of arrows. Arrows are a symbolic representation of aiming and shooting for something, and I love the vertically long look because I like to draw these sigils on my forearms.

I created all of these with stream of consciousness drawing.

It is almost like a form of meditation for me. Allowing myself to simply create what I think “focus” or “protection” looks like visually makes the end results beautiful and meaningful for me.

I do have a few running themes. Here are a few symbols I love to throw in.

Sigil Crafting

These are used a ton in my art.

So here is a step by step of what to do-

1. Clear your mind for meditation. (Tip- if you have crystals that symbolize your intent, surround yourself with them. And example would be having a rose quartz for love on you or near you.)

2. Put your writing utensil to your paper. (I recommend using paper before digital.) Have your energy flow from your body to the focus of the tip of the pen/pencil, repeating the intent you wish the sigil to have.

3. Make a first draft of your sigil by allowing your hand to simply move as you think of your intent.

4. Make as many reiterations you wish until you have something you feel satisfied with. (Editing is a big part of writing as well.)

5. After a few tries making different sigils, make a list of your own common symbols you see popping up in your sigils.

And there you have it. If you are not comfortable, try mixing this technique with others to find what works best for you, or simply only use other techniques and make sigil arrows. I think using the look of an abstract arrow helps with directing intentions.

You can also request a sigil from me if you so choose in my inbox, for I shall be making them for anyone who asks for free.

I hope you find yourself using this technique of stream of consciousness to create wonderful sigils.

Shadow Work Prompts 1

1. what emotion do you try to avoid (e.g. anger, sadness, jealousy...)? what makes you afraid to feel it? what are you afraid will happen if you feel it?

2. in what ways are you priviliged? what do you take for granted?

3. pick an adjective from the list below that would trigger you if someone would use it to desscribe you and then ask yourself: "why would this trigger me? what would be bad about it being true? is it the accuracy or inaccuracy that bothers me? what could be a positive aspect to being that way?"

list: arrogant, lier, jealous, mean, cruel, possessive, bitchy, bossy, loser, greedy, mysterious, sneaky, codependent, sick, fat, disgusting, stalker, stupid, idiot, fearful, unconscious, masochistic, narcissist, insignificant, frigid, sexist, manipulative, racist, victim, egositic, arrogant, ugly, careless, passive, aggressive, lame, boring, tactless, irresponsible, incompetent, lazy, unfair, childish, know-it-all, insensitive, psychotic, sad, ordinary, hypocritical, reproachful, gloomy, jealous, envious dirty, tyrannical, inflexible, heartless, resentful, dominant, bad, ignorant, uneducated, tasteless, insecure, depressed, hopeless, not good enough, cry baby, paranoid, pushy, stubborn, inferior, weak , impatient, unreliable, self-destructive, over-sensitive

4. what is the biggest promise you made to yourself that you have broken? how does that make you feel?

5. how do you lie to yourself in daily life? what are you trying to avoid?

6. what do you think is your worst trait? why is it "bad"? what positive aspects does this trait bring with it?

7. if you truly loved yourself, what would your life look like? is it very different to how it actually is? and if yes, why?

8. think of a time someone broke your heart. could you have been responsible in some way as well?

9. do you hold grudges against someone? if so, why are you not letting them go yet?

10. what do you need to forgive yourself for?

11. think back on the last time a person triggered you: can you see how the aspects of that person that triggered you are also in you?

12. ask yourself: "if... were true about me/my current life situation, i'd be terrified" (try to fill out this sentence as often as possible)

13. think back on your last argument/fight: did you actively try to see the other person's viewpoint and would there have been a way to be more compassionate with the other person and yourself?

14. think about a time in your childhood when you felt unhappy (small or big moment) and write a letter from your child self to the present you about how you felt and how you perceived the situation: try to take on that child as much as you can and write from its perspective as automatically as you can then write a letter back to that child, explaining the situation, showing empathy and understanding and asking how you can help now or which needs have to be met for that child to feel good again if you get answres from that child, then try to meet those needs today

15. In what areas of life are you holding back and playing small? (Think about the times you feel weak, small or disempowered.) Write them below and next to each explore why

16. In what ways do you feel judged by others? Write them below. Explore how many of these judgments might actually originate within you first (and are displaced onto others)

17. What negatives or positives do others point out about you that you have trouble accepting?

18. What emotions do you rarely express around others – and when did you first start hiding these emotions from others? (Emotional suppression and repression often point to areas of shame buried within you.)

19. Reflect on a period of life where you were at your worst (i.e. most selfdestructive, argumentative, etc.). Write a short, but heartfelt letter of understanding, acceptance, and compassion for that version of you. You can return to this letter later whenever you feel rotten about yourself.

20. What are your “hot buttons” or triggers that cause you to get angry or defensive in the presence of others?

🌙 Simple Everyday Things You Can Do For Protection Source | https://www.instagram.com/mariathearcane/?hl=en

What are some simple things that you do that you think would help another witch? 🌙 My list of daily or easy practices requires little to no prep-work •Use a protection plant ally like a witch’s burr, cloves, thorns, motherwort, black pepper, garlic, or onion. Close your eyes and place your plant ally in your hands. Ask the spirit of the plant if they will offer you protection to see you through the day. Carry it with you. •Alternatively, you can also use crystals. My go to combo is black tourmaline and red jasper! •Use a protection archetype tarot card like the Nine of Wands. Nine of Wands, for myself, symbolizes boundaries and protection when it comes to our growth/life path. Place it on your altar with intention since it is a portal to our intentions, our guides, and the liminal, or carry on your person. •Smoke cleanse the thresholds in your home, yourself, and your loved ones. I personally like rosemary and lavender for this purpose. •As you leave an offering for your guides/ancestors/deities during your daily conversation with them ask them for their help when it comes to protection. •Write the word protection or a symbol of protection on a black candle with intention and light.

Bringing forth magick through the colors of Viadescioism:

All you need to do to call upon the kna of a specific color is to allow them to be in your proximity so that the kna emanating from them can commune with you. This can be done in many different ways, and one way would be to get specific colored candles or other forms of tools so that when they are being used, they will also emit that certain color kna along with the other kna that they usually produce. Another way that you could bring colored kna into your practice would be to wear a specific color of clothing that is the color that you wish to invoke the kna of. You could also visualize that color to bring that kna to you, allowing it to be used in situations where you might not have a physical representation of it. The basic idea of all of this is for you to find a way in which you will interact with the color so that that color kna can interact with you in your daily life. This will allow you to benefit from the kna that it produces and use it in your magickal practice. Below is a list of different colors and their metaphysical correspondences that can be invoked by bringing that color into your routine.

These colors align themselves well with Viadescioism and act as symbols for it. These colors have an aesthetic purpose and a metaphysical one and are color schemes used in specific places within the practice. Below is a list of different colors and their metaphysical correspondences that can be invoked by bringing that color into your routine.

Basic Elements of Energy Work

Energy work is the ability of a person to control unseen energies. Almost all basic pagan/Wiccan/New Age/witchcraft exercises deal with energy work. Here is a short list of some of the things a young witch should learn.

Grounding. It’s extremely important. You may think it will be fun to carry around a lot of elemental energy - you will quickly change your mind. Grounding is the ability to get excess energy out and ground yourself back in reality. This is especially important if you want to work with dreams, spirits, or visions.

Centering goes hand-in-hand with grounding. As a magical practitioner, you do stuff that leaves your energetic body out of sorts. If you are working with real magic, there is also a chance your grasp on reality can be shaken. Centering is a focus on your physical body that gathers all your loose bits and reforms your energetic body back in to its natural shape. Combine it with grounding to get back to the real world.

Shielding is a basic energy work exercise that is also pretty danged important. Learn to shield yourself and how to place shields around other things, people, and locations. This is a vital element of protection.

Charging is the act of filling an object with energy. You can passively charge things by leaving them around natural elements, but you need to learn how to actively charge something as well.

Programing is the process of giving energy a ‘job’. Programing energy is the basis for all spellwork. When you dress a candle, you are filling it with energy and then programing that energy to do a job for you.

I'll add one more thing-

If you are not Christian/Specifically believe in Christianity or associated Abrahamic religions (like Judaism or Islam), Then you do not believe in genuine "Demons".

Demons (also called iblis) are an Abrahamic concept. Sure not every instance of "inherently evil creature/spirit/being that is in service of a greater evil, usually in the form of a bigger/stronger inherently evil creature/spirit/being" is tied to Abrahamic beliefs but Demons specifically are inherently part of their religious practices.

Demons, down to the first usage of the word, are tied to their description as servants and spawn of The devil, again, another inherently Christian concept.

You are free to believe what you want to believe but I'm tired of white American witches talking about demons and angels and demonic possession then scream at me when I point those are Christian concepts. Hell, due to my own beliefs as a native American, I don't even believe in inherently evil spiritual beings.

That's all I have to say, if you aren't Christian then you don't believe in demons aka spawns of the devil aka the adversary of God. Literally believing in them means you have to believe in the existence of God and if y'all say you don't, you gotta let demon leave you vocabulary.

If you mean evil spirit or even just evil creature... Just say evil creature???

THE TOWER - Tarot Card Curse Jar

THE TOWER - Tarot Card Curse Jar

Hey y'all ! I made this because some people love to be absolute douche bags!!! So if your local douche bag is being extra douchey then this just might be for you

This curse is meant to fuck up five different aspects of someone’s life (depending on the cards) which can be changed accordingly This is the first Curse/Spell I’ve ever written so go easy on me, yeah? If you do actually do this- tag me. I’d love to see it ;0;

You Will Need:

* The Tower

* Chariot

* The Wheel of fortune

* Ten of Pentacles

* Three of Cups

* Knight of Pentacles

* A Mason Jar

* Taglock (preferably a picture)

* Curse powder (optional)

1. Print out the Tarot cards mentioned above (you can even use a scanner and scan your own cards) and cut them out. These are the cards you’ll be using for the curse

2. Take your mason jar and your taglock. Tape the taglock on the inside of the jar’s lid.

3. Now you’re ready to start. Find a place where you won’t be interrupted and lay out all the cards in front of you

THE CARDS

* Pick up the chariot first. Hold it above the taglock and say: “The Chariot, for determination and will power” now reverse the card and say “may you lose your focus and motivation, especially in study” now tear up the card and place it in the jar

* The wheel of fortune is next. Hold the card above the taglock again and say “the wheel of fortune for good luck” reverse and say “may your luck run dry and your path be strewn with mischances” tear and add to the jar.

* Third is the ten of Pentacles. Again, holding the card over the taglock say “Ten of Pentacles for Finance” reverse “may you experience personal financial failure” rip and toss it in the jar

* Now move on to the three of cups. Say: “three of cups for friendship and joy” next,you guessed it, reverse the card. “May your bridges burn and your heart fill with sadness” tear up that baby and toss it in the damn jar

* Lastly (thank the lord) is the knight of pentacles. Say: “knight of pentacles for efficiency and hard work” turn it upside down and continue. “ May your efforts and hard work prove fruitless” throw the shreds in the jar

————————————

Now that all the shredded cards are in the jar, throw in some curse powder or red pepper flakes to give the curse an extra kick. You can add other things like rusted nails or a tiny bit of war water etc, etc..

Close the lid of the jar. Shake the shit out of it. Let your anger bubble up and envision the target suffering the above mentioned misfortunes. Open the jar back up and place the tower, upright, into the jar.

Close the lid again. Say: “may the tower bring the destruction you deserve” Hide the jar in a dark place and shake it when you feel the curse needs an extra kick.

————————

To undo this curse open the jar and remove the tower. Reverse and rip it then throw it into the jar. Declare that the curse is lifted and dispose of the taglock and contents of the jar outside. Sweep the contents off of your property and dust off your hands. Now you can cleanse your jar for later use. Again, this is my first spell and curse I’ve ever written. If you decide to try it show me your results!!

👁‍🗨Cheers!
