I Will add my two cents to this taking a Moment to apprecciate Daneel and Giskard learning to do something not even humans know how to do quite well and I think that a scenario where Giskard, Elijah and Gladia help Daneel with Fallom would be hella interesting
Also are there Robot Kids on the Moon?
Sometimes I think about that one bit in "The Robots of Dawn" where Daneel explains to Elijah that on Aurora there are Specialized Robots to raise kids, and neither him or Giskard have that ability. And then I think that Giskard sort of raised Vasilia.
Imagine when Vasilia was really tiny, Han Fastolfe going to Giskard "Oh I'm going a few days out for a scientific Conference please keep an eye on Vasilia" and Giskard Panicking. Fastolfe comes back home three days later and Giskard is now "Babysitter Supreme"
I'd like to Thanks @the-l-spacer for inspiring me to draw the second one
Eeehm Bayta is the one telling the waiter That Toran and Magnifico didn't ask for Pickles
I remembered that in Robots of Dawn it is specified that Aurora's sun is in the Cetus constellation, also known as the Whale. So, my brain connected two dots
(Not in terms of actual quality btw, just the one you like the most, personally - and feel free to put your response in the tags too!)
Asimov doodles bc i finally had time to draw!!!
On the left it's Hari and Dors reuniting in cyberheaven (courtesy of @larmegliamori), the mule in comfy clothes, and daneel. on the right it's raych, bel riose, and hummin, and the one in the center is my oc Atura, aka the Mule's mom!)
Greatest moment in sci fi history
Soooo uh. Guess who's back Rambling!
And Today I'm offering an illustration about the character Red Summer, from Asimov's "Lucky Starr and the Moons of Jupiter"! This started as a joke between me and my sister after I showed her this color Palette and it stopped being a Joke the more and More I worked on it. It was a really fun time, especially working with the shadows using the levels on Multiply
So, do you remember that art poll, a couple months ago, where you asked to see a Greek pottery-style Dors?
Well, here she finally is!
(Some commentary under the cut. Feel free to skip, but if you like the drawing please like, leave a comment or reblog! It means the world to me 💓)
Well, after almost ten hours of work... here it is! My aim was to only use black and red/ocre-ish color used in Ancient Greek pottery, which turned out for what is basically a second attempt! In terms of drawing style though, I steered towards another direction and, for the pose and clothes, I drew inspiration from a 1797 painting of Clio, the Muse of History. This reference just seemed fair to me: after all, Dors being a historian is one of her most prominent character traits, and a lovely one at that. The Muse's traditional attributes of tablet and stylus, pictured in the reference portrait, fit her character so I decided to keep them. The laurel crown was also referenced from the painting and, although it's not traditional, I kept it mostly because I associate Dors with leaf and/or flower patterns. After all, she's the Gift of Spring! I also decided to give one of her drapes a striped pattern, to recall her nickname, "The Tiger Woman". Last but not least, I decided to play around with shadows a bit, mostly on the draperies. Certainly not something you can find on pottery, but nevertheless a nice touch.
Congrats if you've made it so far! I hope you've enjoyed this piece, and I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.
Elijah wants to kiss that robot so bad it makes him look stupid!!!!
