People: Yeah being outed can be really dangerous and no one should ever be outed against their will

Also people: If youre a trans dude who passes you should always out yourself so that other people know you arent a big scary man but also out yourself so if you dont pass we know you are a scary man

too lazy to make this an actual well articulated post rn but here are some snippets of a conversation i had tonight

two discord messages from me, reading "oh absolutely!! honestly i think a lot of transmasc hate is inseparable from misogyny just bc. like you said. ppl see us a girls/women fairly often. like i think you can draw a direct parallel between the way things commonly enjoyed by teen girls n young women r mocked n the way transmasc names, self expression, etc are mocked"
message from me reading "like this has been happening for Ages. people don't hate transmasc interests because they're feminine, they see these interests as feminine because they hate transmascs"

It's funny to me that the same people who wax poetic about how they'd Never pedojack a transfem, will just read some posts about posts about how transmascs are seeking to destroy the concept of transmisogyny for the sick masculine pleasure of oppressing women, and automatically believe it. Like, clearly you are unable to actually hone the ability not fall for transphobic smear campaigns lol.

Bitches will say "transandrophobia doesn't exist" and then give an example of something that happens to trans men AND trans women AND ALSO nonbinary people while saying only trans women suffer from it.

It's like some people think intersectionality is a math problem?

Trans + man = cancels out so no oppression

Trans + woman = double oppression

And that's just? Not how real life works? Like you can't come to a conclusion via logic math problem and then insist it's reality because it makes sense inside the theory you've crafted.

You have to check it actually aligns with what is happening out in the world - Which is trans men sharing all the ways systemic and institutional transphobia targets us and affects us.

You can't just tell us to shut up because you like your theory better and you're upset our lived experience messes it up.

You can't tell us we don't experience what we live every day?

Transfem oppression: yeah the other day this jealous cis girl told me I have an obvious adam's apple and that I'll never be a real woman and now I wanna die because I'm not pretty like the other girls!!!

Transmasc oppression: yeah the other day this guy that had a crush on me in high school found out I transitioned and now he keeps texting me begging me to detransition for him, and he somehow found out where I live and where I work, and he keeps sending me rape threats. Also yesterday I went to the men's restroom and I almost got raped but thankfully my friend walked in before anything happened. Thank god nothing happened especially because if I got pregnant I'd get no treatment cause I already changed the gender marker on my birth certificate.

See how stupid that was? See how when I talked about "transfem oppression" I cherry picked a specific issue that mostly affects white binary trans women, completely overlooking the experiences of trans women of color and non-binary transfems. See how this post willfully ignores the very real violence that happens to transfems? See how this doesn't help transmascs at all and only undermines transfems. See how this implies that cis men only target transmascs, and that cis women are incapable of violence?

Wow it's almost as if we don't have to gaslight one group and undermind their experiences in order to talk about the experiences of the other... Funny that.

Hey since theres some stuff about transandrophobia theory going on anyway:

Does anyone have any specifically transandrophobia book recs?

I already got my hands on Leslie Feinbergs "stone butch blues" but since i have never been a lesbian and am into men its not exactly want im looking for yk; bell hooks "men, masculinity and love" seems to not include discussions about trans men at all and s. bear bergman "butch is a noun" as far as i could tell would still be based on trans men/mascs with connections to lesbianism (which i still dont have)

I lucky own a copy of thomas page mcbees "man alive" and cooper lee bombardiers "handle with care" but i cant find anything else besides eyeing lou sullivans dairys (again non of these books are theory, theyre all memoiren)

My local queer-feminist book store only had biographies (no novels, theory or other genres) featuring trans men when i first asked and they only brached out bc i specifically asked (which is imo embarrasing for them but whatever) and even they dont seem to find theory about transandrophobia easily

Any help/ideas on where to look?

transmisogyny = intersection of transphobia and misogyny.

transphobia towards trans men assuming they're women = transphobia. the misogyny is due to transphobia. it is just transphobia. you want to be oppressed so bad

This makes absolutely no sense lmao. If transphobia towards trans men is also the intersection of transphobia and misogyny than transphobia towards trans men would be transmisogyny but it’s not, because transmisogyny refers to transphobia and misogyny aimed at trans women. Hence why transphobia + misogyny towards trans men is called Transandrophobia. The misogyny isn’t “due to transphobia”, the misogyny is entwined with the transphobia. They are tied together.

“You want to be oppressed so bad”…. Anon… do you think transmasc people are not oppressed? Do you think trans men are not oppressed? What??????

Korean fan living in Korea here) It seems that it’s only the international fandom that see Project Moon’s recent firing of the illustrator as ‘protecting’ their staff from assault.

From all we know here in Korea, the ‘protests’ were largely just standing in front of the headquarters and yelling at the devs, sending threats.

Edit : did more digging and the protestors took some ‘evidences’ and met the devs so they DID get inside the building. but it was mostly talking and they were not actively threatening the devs with physical violence or anything as far as I know according to korean fandom communities ; picture of the perpetrator below.

Korean Fan Living In Korea Here) It Seems That It’s Only The International Fandom That See Project

But even if they WERE physically violent,  informing the police and suing the hell out of the protestors would’ve been the reasonable move, if they truly cared about their staff’s wellbeings.

(I saw some tweets about how its more ‘dangerous’in East Asia, so Project Moon was reasonably afraid of escalating the situation, but South Korea’s violent crime rates are very low, much lower than the US(https://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/South-Korea/United-States/Crime) , so…)

Besides, the ‘loud minority’ of the Incel Korean Fanbase isn’t really a ‘minority’ ; they usually make up a large percentage of income of the gaming industry, especially for a gacha game. And firing female voice actors and illustrators for participating in feminist practices has been done before (it happened in Closers and Girls Frontline.)

So unfortunately, for the time being it seems that Project Moon simply chose what they believe to be the best path for profit-maximizing. Prioritising the male Korean fanbase while not also losing the majority of the international fanbase.

Excuse me for the broken english, some misunderstandings (due to language and culture barrier) were getting a bit frustrating.

Please inform me if there was any misinformation. I might delete this according to future developments.

tl; dr )this was likely a corporate decision and not a spur-of-the-moment thing to save themselves from physical threat because 1. Incels are seen as pretty profitable in Korean gaming industry and 2. the police force works mostly ok in here so why not just… call em.
