Happy Dannyversary!!
Dramatic chase to apprehend Red Hood ends with him leading Nightwing through a CVS bathroom
Has this been done yet? I feel like it must have
👀 OH I’M LIKING THIS!!! It’s so cool to see The Core react to her autism in that way!!
I actually have a vague AU where the non-royal members of The Core go behind the Leviathans’ back to create a way out for themselves if the rushed design of Darcy’s helmet failed them (which it did ofc). So the scholars… or “nerds”, as I call them, of The Core uploaded themselves into a replacement spine for Marcy while she was healing, meaning they stuck with her after Amphibia hehehe. They didn’t have as malicious of intents as the Leviathans tho. I posted a lil script thing about it lmao. Sorry jnhbgvhbjnk
The Musings of a Collective Consciousness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Core was, in simple terms, just that: they are a core, a tether, for the greatest minds in all of Amphibia's history. Kings, queens, warriors, even doctors: their minds as one, they can reach and understand opinions and conclusions in a flash.
And yet, Wit, Marcy Wu, their current host, evades their understanding.
Their mind is... wired differently. Autism, they learnt it was; it allowed the girl a unique set of tools at her disposal, and yet she was ridiculed for it. 'Nonsensical', they concluded. All beings fear what they can't understand. So, they fear her, and disrespect her.
Utter nonsense, but they are humans, so The Core isn't too surprised.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tapping the side of their helmet, The Core, now fully calling themselves Darcy, found a quiet moment with nothing to do, as Andrias was, for lack of a better word, busy.
And, bored, they examined their host's memories.
In total, Heart and Strength consumed a vast majority of them. Odd.
Examining one memory led into an intriguing discovery.
"I'm Waybright; Sasha Waybright!"
'Intriguing' is pushing it, but from this memory, they found it interesting how much Strength changed over the years. At first, they chalked it up to the passing age, but they started to think more on it, their foot tapping rhythmically.
There are two factors: the first being the matter of Strength's parents, the second being that Heart and Wit never corrected her behaviour; moreover, Heart was too weak to Strength, especially with Strength's line of, "End. Of. Discussion." and that Wit never bothered to intervene.
Why was that?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Andrias." they called to the disgraceful son descendant of theirs.
"Oh, my lord! Is there something you require?" instantly, and without a fight. Almost saddening.
"Due to us not being able to reach a conclusion, we require another's opinion: how would you describe Marcy Wu?"
"..." Andrias looked lost for a second, and Darcy held up a hand.
"You may speak freely."
"...She was..." Andrias swallowed. "Despite what I had to do, she was someone whom I could speak to."
"Elaborate."
"To speak, not as ruler and subject, but as..." the Newt looked over; perhaps reminiscing about his old friends. "...As people."
"...Hm. We shall be off, then. Tha--" they held their tongue. No need to be that pleasant.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The truth is, I..."
"For I, Marciano--!"
"I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOU BOTH!"
The same end result, a different way to reach it.
Wit sees the friendship they made with Strength and Heart as the most important thing to them. More than their family, even.
To some of The Core, the idea is odd; yet, there is a vast majority that agree that Wit works differently to them. Their mind is akin to a maze; one that even they can't fully understand.
On the outside, Darcy paced, hands behind their back. On the inside, a war was breaking out, over one simple thought:
'What will happen once we run out of worlds?'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Enough was enough. It was time for Wit... Wu to pull her own weight.
"A~nd that makes Puzzle Number One-Hundred and Twenty-Three: officially 'Solved'!" placing the puzzle away from her, Marcy smiled, sitting down in her room in peaceful quietness.
"Man. It's, a... pre-tty quiet, huh?" Marcy was no stranger to vivid dreams, even after her time in Amphibia was over. A whole week... hard to imagine, and yet here she is, sitting down and keeping her mind active.
With that, Marcy went to reach for another puzzle.
"Marcy Regina Wu."
Marcy froze. No. No no no no no no no. It can't be that... that thing--
But clad in that Sci-Fi black armour, the red cape and no helmet in sight, Darcy calmly looked at Marcy, orange gazing at greyish-brown.
"We do hope we are not interfering."
"YOU!" Marcy found herself shouting before she could think. "I... Anne killed you! You're dead!"
"You destroyed only the part that had lost their minds to megalomania. In other words, the vast majority of The Core." Darcy sat down, head in their palm as they gazed on almost... defeatedly at Marcy. "Yet a small part, the one they deemed 'weak', was lift in your consciousness as the helmet's connection with the castle was severed.
"For all intents and purposes: you won. We lost. You're the victor. We're the loser." they then shrugged, a ghost of their former smirk on their face. "You're the hero. And we are the villain."
"Enough." Marcy whispered. "What do you want? Why talk now?"
"As we mentioned, we were found defective. Weak. Emotional. Empathetic. We were the ones who spoke of injustice against you. As despicable the vast majority of us may be, we would have never agreed to forcefully putting you into that room, and moreso hijacking your body."
"But you did. And I didn't hear a single voice speaking of 'injustice'." Marcy almost spat out the world. As much as she wanted to wake up, something told her that wouldn't be a good option.
"We were... pushed into a corner, to put it into perspective. Now, onto your question. We are here..." their eyebrows opened, showing two more eyes. "...To help you with your little... shall we say as you say, 'gay little panic'.
"...What."
Here’s my headcanon on how Marcy’s eyes would look if The Core could possess her without the helmet :3
First, here’s her normal eyes (for comparison)
And this is how she’d look if The Core was talking to (or otherwise influencing) her, but not taking complete control
And here’s her design when The Core is completely controlling her movements
Also, yes, she’s wearing a froggy hoodie hehe
….. Unsure if this was a good idea. Now I just give up cuz it’s fun
(This is legit how my next draft of my Red Hood fic is going. Wut r werds)
Gonna start putting “[REDACTED]” as a placeholder when I haven’t decided on a word/phrase while writing. For enrichment.
Still got that Darcy brainrot so here’s Darcy with the weapon I gave them in my fic lol
I really hope that Darcy gets some cool weapon in canon. Or a dozen frobots that follow her around and do her dirty work. That’d be cool too XD
Like there could be a town on fire with people screaming and getting chased by robots and Darcy would just be reveling in the middle of it all going “mmmm yes”
I love how this immediately made me completely adore two characters that haven’t even technically gotten any screen time
The "Annoying White guys" brothers
>:3
What’s sad is I almost put Jasper there before realizing that I HAD to use the grimwalker who almost blew himself up for that
POV: you are Caima Songbird (and perhaps Val)
These are @polyhexian’s Golden Guard OCs: Jasper, Will, and Miles (ft. Hunter ofc)!!!! They each have fics which have been rotating around in my brain all week dhdhbsns
Their account seems deactivated, so I’ll add a screenshot of the post below:
I CAN’T I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH HELP
Rating: Gen, General Audiences
Part 5 of Camila is Hunter’s Mom Now
Hunter goes to a full human school for the first time. It goes about as well as you might expect.
Ao3
“Okay. You ready?”
Hunter nodded, tugging his hood up. “Ready.”
Luz held up a finger. “Remember! Teenagers are ruthless. They are the most dangerous creatures on the planet. If you show any weakness or fear, they will tear you apart.”
That, he could work with. “I can handle that—sounds just like the coven.”
Luz grabbed his face, staring him in the eye. “No! It is not like the coven! Teenagers are much, much, much worse than Kikimora. They will prey on all of your insecurities and ruin you. And you can’t win by being good at everything and becoming a teacher’s favorite. That will just make them hate you, you will not become high-ranking to them.”
Vee rolled her eyes, gently shooing her sister away. “Luz, quit that.” She took Hunter’s hand. “Hunter. They’re not so bad. Just… be yourself, and people like you will find you.”
Hunter peered around her at Luz, who shook her head, mouthing “bad idea.”
Yeah, she’d spent more time in the human realm, she probably knew what she was talking about. Worse than Kikimora. And being good at things wouldn’t give him any power. Great.
Currently planning a fic based on this while I should be sleeping XD. Hopefully I still have the motivation to finish it once I finish the bullet point outline lol.
If I don’t see a single story about how after piloting around her body and experiencing actual, genuine human emotion that isn’t captivated or manifested from a machine, Darcy begins to feel more like a person than a machine and they don’t understand where these complicated and complex feelings are stemming from and why they suddenly don’t want to commit the evil deeds anymore then I’ll simply loose my domestication
I spent almost 2 hours drawing a worm… I need help
