I get that Ricky Gervais has presented as a trash person in the past and I get that I don’t entirely understand why because most of his trash moments happened basically right before or on the precipice of me becoming a part of the internet, so no, I don’t know slash understand everything horrible he’s done or said, and no, that won’t stop me from deciding for myself whether or not he’s the kind of guy to ignore even when he’s making a good point, or the kind of guy I feel I should listen to. I know everyone’s ready to send me All the Good Points on why I should Love/Hate this dude, and eventually I’ll figure it out for myself, thanks very much.
Right now, all I’m thinking is he fucking tore into the corruption of hollywood, he very happily pointed out the racism, sexism, and accepted sexual abuse associated with hollywood, and if I end up deciding that he is not a person to be listened to, that’s fine, I will decide that myself, and I am not closing myself off from that possibility. But right now he is also the guy that told all of hollywood, on international TV, what absolute corrupt hypocrites they all are, and that if nothing else was fucking satisfying to watch.
Anyone who sends me any messages about how I’m right or wrong or good or bad for appreciating this one monologue will be ignored. Again, this is not about me digging through all the clues to figure out if Ricky Gervais is a dude I support or not. I don’t care about supporting this one controversial comedian. I really mostly just care that for whatever reason Ricky Gervais lost his fucking mind and burned the entirety of hollywood in 7 minutes.
We didn’t have a word for our, as you guys call, gay/lesbian people. So we coined that word as an umbrella for all our tribes. We never said, “Well, you’re transgender. You’re bisexual. You’re lesbian.” We never knew those terms. Those are all from Western culture, you know, LGBTQ and all that. So on some level, it’s about getting rid of labels. Those terms were forced upon us.
The only positive thing about JK Rowling being a terf on main was that I could detect and unfollow every single "feminist" page that defended her and were terf on main while doing so too
Good winter cleansing 🧹🧼🗑
When I was in film school, I really struggled with what it meant to be a black filmmaker, knowing these are the types of stories I want to tell and wanting to define my own voice. What does it mean to make things about black people? Does it look one specific way? … When I think about black stories in the United States, I think about the diaspora. Black African immigrants and African-American folks and people in the North and people in the South and just the way that people MacGyver things together just to survive. Those are some of the most incredible stories in the world to me.

“We need to understand there is no one formula for how women should lead our lives. That is why we must respect the choices that each woman makes for herself and her family. Every woman deserves the chance to realize her own God-given potential. But we must recognize that women will never gain full dignity until their human rights are respected and protected. Human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights once and for all”.
White privilege on full display.
For crying out loud, Johnny did not groom Winona. Winona was already 18 when they met and started dating. Winona loved Johnny and is fucking defending him!!!
The only reason they are even bringing this up is BECAUSE they know amber's guilty. They know he never abused her and that she lied, so they need to grasp on to anything to make him "look bad", even if that means making stuff up.
I swear people on twitter have shit for brains and the people who just blindly believe them, I don't know, they probably just don't have any at all. THIS is why twitter needs to fucking die.
