your art is so beautiful, and I’m loving your fanseries so far!!! do you have any tutorials on how you draw your dragon wings? (specifically in more dynamic poses or when they’re folded in) keep up the amazing work! :D

I need to preface this by saying I often stumble through drawing wings so I had a bit of a harder time describing how I draw them. As well as the fact that there isnt really any wrong way to draw wings given how much variation you can given them in fantasy. Still though I hope I can offer some tips

Biggest tip is to get the arm down. pretty much any flying animal has this arm of sorts. I find laying down the shape of it really helps shape the rest of the wing. I added the most basic 3 lines I use in the step by step. (Sometimes I use my own hand to imagine where the "fingers" of the wing go, cause you cant always find that just right reference with birds or bats. Imagine if you taped long straws to your fingers then draped a blanket across your shoulders.)

2nd tip is with folded wings. Often if your characters wings are folded in they arent the focus of the piece, so dont put too much detail in those folded wings. Draw em and leave em. Its super easy to wanna put detail everywhere but sometimes less is better. But of course you can always add detail and my biggest tip if you wanna add detail is remember the folds. a closed wing will often have a scrunched up look.

And of course my final tip is reference and practice. Reference wise id suggest birds, bats, and pterosaurs (as much as you can from an extinct creature lol) There is also plenty of dragon wing tutorials out there that get more specific.

Your also free to trace over my work for practice as long as its not posted publicly, tho I highly recommend not just doing that. Its important to experiment and find your own style n' method. its also a bit better to understand what your drawing more than just knowing muscle memory movements (ex. understanding how the arm of a wing works can help you to need less references as youd know how to postion the webbing, folds, fingers, etc) Tracing wise your most helpful resource is bats.

I love costuming but have no costuming money. My build also doesnt do well with in store sizing so im stick with limited options.

I really think tho id rock a mad scientist labcoat.

Another costume ive always wanted to do was a dragon but none of the current costume options look good to me. Which means I need to start learning how to make fursuits pretty much 💀

False volcano

The skywings have been claiming the mountain near them has become a volcano. Saying that the nightwing volcano must have woken it up... highly doubtful to me, but when the tremors began the rumor grew more widespread... Which is why im now in this cave.

Toad stuffed the scroll back in his bag as the mountain shook again. He managed to pin pont the exact mountain the tremors were comming from. So far it was just a boring old mountain.

"You hear that? She says youll be released soon." The voice shouted with a nervous chuckle. Toad hesitated before following the voice.

"I... I was so worried she wouldnt believe me and she'd have me killed..." The voice continued as Toad curled around the dark stone corners. His thick mudwing scales scraping against them, the heat was rising. "Imagine what we can do once your out... Like we can go flying and hunting and and you gotta see some of the festivals!" the dragon stopped falling into a coughing fit.

The cave opened up... suffocating smoke filled the belly of the mountain. Chains scattered the walls all connected to somthing in the middle. It would shift and send a chorus of clangs echoing off the walls. Claw marks of varying sizes lined the walls among charred bones and ash.

Toad crept further out trying to see what was behind the smoke.... A dragon... a giant one...

He struggled to hold himself up from the weight of the chains. Anywhere he places his talons melted, even the mountain itself. He shifted toward the ant like form of the other dragon, a wing flew over toads head sending smoke swirling past. Toad bit his tongue to prevent himself from coughing.

"I cant wait..." His voice hissed. his tongue flicked out running it over his teeth "I need to stretch my wings and get this rope off..." his neck and wings were squished into the mountain. To toad this cave was giant but to him it was a cramped cage. "revenge will be sweet I promise you that little brother..."

The dragon below gave a whimper "I wish you wouldnt think of revenge. Let them ruin themselves... the war certainly isnt going in her favor.." The large dragon reared up, he slammed his wings and talons into the mountain. The treamors... it was him...

"Dont you DARE tell me what to do." He roared, another tremor, his jaws struggled against the rope "Once im free I will do what ive been wanting to do for CENTURIES..." The small dragon whined and whimpered apologies under him. The large dragon gave a sigh, rolling his eyes "but I also wish to hang out with you...I have plans but I do wish to catch up on our lost dragonet years..."

Toad had many questions. How could a dragon of his size stay hidden. How was he burning so much? Why dont his ropes or chains burn? but he was also terrified... he needed to leave. now.

Toad turned to escape but the large dragon moved his wing, it slammed into toad. Toad heaved as the wind left his lungs, he stumbled to catch himself in the air. The two whipped around to face the eavsdropper. Toad froze. It was like starring into the sun.

"Who whos that?" The small one yelped

The large dragon opened their mouth as much as they could with a hiss "An unlucky visitor..."

This started as just a simple sketch and then I went a little overboard testing brushes and layer settings. Is this my favorite piece? no. Is it my least favorite? nope. I still enjoy this piece (mainly cause I love mavshoon and Vanya and could never forget big ol thor.)

their relationship slowly formed over their journey as the two realized they were much more alike than they knew. Mavshoon enjoys being open with Vanya. Mavshoon is judged as being some tough criminal but truely hes a kind, respectful, and loving man. He misses his family and feels bad for what happened. Vanya enjoys Mavshoons dry humor and big heart. Vanya grows to be more confident in herself and realize she doesnt have to please everyone.

small edit: Mavshoons family isnt dead they just had a fight. I just re-read my writing and could see how that could be slightly misinterperated

How did they meet?

Dr Heebie: "She broke into my house."

Dr Jeebie: "I was just feeding my newest creation when I heard an annoying, stupid voice"

3. What were their first impressions of each other? How does that compare to their impressions of each other now?

Dr Jeebie: "A rich fancy pants who turned me into some sun fearing monster. No understanding about the wonders and curiousities of the world. Nor understanding that being able to go out in the day was a must for my line of work!...... but a pretty good cook especially for a guy who only eats dishes with blood"

Dr Heebie: "A very weird woman. Loud and stubborn. Despite this I recognized the mistake I made. She'd only speak to me if I was a cat. Present day I feel our impressions have improved greatly."

5. Do they get along? Why or why not?

Dr Heebie: "Its easy to get along when you have common interests... like harassing werewolves on their 'moon of peace' cycle."

Dr Jeebie: "Fancy pants can actually be fun when hes not complaining about vampire rules and maners"

26. How would these characters react to being stuck in a small room with each other?

Dr Heebie: "Ive slept in numerous coffins small spaces do not bother me. In fact it is probably the perfect time to rest or chat."

Dr Jeebie: "Freak out."

27. How far would they go for each other? Would they risk their own lives for each other?

Dr Heebie: "Ive broken numerous rules as well as blown past personal comforts. Im surprised myself over my actions given in the begining I had wished she'd go away, that we had never met. I hate using such a beastly form as it isnt very classy and my suits are ruined but it is as if I had no choice in the matter that night."

Dr Jeebie: "I immediately asked when I get a monster form like that."

The urge to make a comic but not having any full fleshed out stories is-

I miss my friend from 6th grade who was super into writing. She wrote the story I drew the panels, she'd bring me the script by pretending to need to blow her nose.

I also miss my Saturday comic class cause I used to get 12+ pages out in like an 8 week span on top of school.

Maybe I'll just take the sci fi world that I've been working on for like 4-ish years now and play around with some concepts

If I may ask the artist a question (I love your blog and art by the way, it's reignited my interest for my own WoF AU), how do you draw their feet?? I am hard struggling trying to draw the talons for my dragon OCs again and I can't seem to figure out the basic shapes for their toes and talons. Do you have any advice? Perhaps a visual example?

anyways! little secret is I started off as a big time warrior cats fan so my beginnings are cat. This fell over into my wof art as many of my dragons have paws. Id say its a little less "paw like" now but still thinking of them like paws makes it much easier

my tutorial is probably not the greatest but if I can give any tips its to remeber to break down talons into simple shapes. Need a sharper look? Go for more squares or triangles. Softer or heavier? Ovals n circles. Its easy to get overwhelmed thinking of details like scales before even placing down the shape of the talon

if you need references I highly recommend big cats! or if your feeling adventurous any animal with a paw or claw. Have fun experimenting with what feels and looks right to you!

The world will tremble

"I'm ontop of the world!"

Vesuvius screamed from the top of the peak.

"Haha of course but we should go back down."

Her pursuer, a man with ruby scales whose heart was tied to Vesuvius's beauty, shouted as he nervously made his way up.

"The moons alight my crown and the stars sparkle with their whispers of admiration."

Vesuvius purred in delight as she watched the moon with greedy eyes.

"I shall make the world tremble in excitement as my talons return to the dirt."

"Your starting to spook me Vesuvius."

The male chuckled nervously; Vesuvius looked back venom lacing her gaze as she sneered

"And your starting to bore me."

Vesuvius returned to the ground alone.
