tommy was fucking awful for the way he treated arthur. he's been suicidal for years, tried to kill himself twice in the series.

in season 1, tommy's reaction to arthur committing suicide by hanging himself was "you should've used a gun."

judging by the last scene of season 5, i'd say karma finally caught up to him.
