I don't know that much about maine but I feel neutral about winslow being from there. he does strike me as a northerner, as well as someone from a small town

"phoenix" being a stage name does make sense but idk I kinda liked the idea her parents just named her that
this really does read like bad fanfic but it's not especially funny, just sort of dull... though there are some particularly egregiously bad moments, those aren't funny either

I swear to God Faust is the biggest piece of shit ever I am hating every second I spend studying Goethe's Faust cause everything about it is infuriating, first of all its dumb protagonist.
i think that phantom of the paradise should have been 45 minutes longer and the extra 45 minutes is just a montage of winslow attempting to kill swan or terrorize the paradise in various comedically ineffective ways and swan keeps reading him increasingly hyperspecific contract clauses and scolding him like a kindergartner

just gonna plug this fan restoration here - dr. saperstein restores a lot of original footage and uncensors those ugly bird mattes throughout the film, which were edited in last-minute to conceal any trace of the "Swan Song" label (of which Death Records is a subsidiary), as the copyright for Swan Song Records was nabbed by Led Zeppelin a mere five months before the film's release.
The restoration itself has some video editing/color grading issues but they're not too hard to get past
